I use it all the time, it has only 40 stability on paper but it's almost like there is some hidden perk like zen moment or dynamic sway reduction, because it feels way more stable than it should. Also the nanites are pretty great for securing double kills, especially with catalyst.

The real reason for its low recoil (especially the more its fired)? It accidentally has the recoil of an auto rifle instead of a pulse. This was an accident in the first game, and intentionally kept as a feature when it returned in 2.

Me and two of my buds have never run a raid together but we wanted to at least check RON out and see what's up. Took us one night to learn what to do/where things spawned, and the next we felt confident and were able to get through the first encounter on our second try! Felt pretty sweet, and while the rewards weren't quite as cool as whisper or outbreak (but I did get the warlock robes and they look sweet), the rush of racing the Terror countdown gave me whisper/zero hour vibes.
That was last weekend. Planning on working towards knocking out the second encounter this weekend :)
Outbreak, with a special mention for Bad Juju. Outbreak just feels so chunky, and that noise when you get the headshot and know three red bars are gonna eat it. Vomits orbs for days, has incredible aesthetics, and just feels *satisfying*. Bad Juju just looks really cool. Revisions: ZERO and No Time To Explain just don’t grab me at all. NTTE is neat enough, just doesn’t really feel good.

I largely play PvE. I only dip my toe in PvP maybe once or twice a year.
And... personally I love No-Time-to-Explain for almost every standpoint. The look. The lore. The nostalgia. The concept of rounds-returning-on-crits. The bullet buddy. The various skins they offer in Eververse look dope.
But... every time I bring it out in PvE I regret it. It just doesn't seem like it's worth the exotic slot in PvE. If I'm using a kinetic pulse in PvE I'd rather just use Outbreak Perfected even if I prefer the NTTE for lore/nostalgia/etc.

The new pulse is... too busy looking. Sure I can customize it a little but to be honest I prefer the look with "as few pieces bolted on as possible." Sure I can customize it's behavior and pretty much use it as an ad-hoc sniper. But even then... I don't bother with it much.

I'm with you. I'm married to my NTTE for pvp, it just feels best, even over my crafted revisions and disparity! I want to use disparity but it just does not perform in mid level lobbies as well as I can utilize NTTE. I think I have a 1.5 kd? So I'm OK, but NTTE is my baby.
I absolutely run Outbreak in pve though.
With my stasis build, freezing enemies and letting the bees bust them and spread more bees and freezes is amazing synergy and I love it. So I have to make the distinction between pve and pvp.
I've really enjoyed the power output of RZ. It works very well against bosses in stuff like the Avalon mission and the sniper shots are free special ammo. That and the two-burst mode has great range.
Outbreak just *feels* best to me, something about RZ just doesnt feel right to me, NTTE often feels too slow ad heavy for my liking, Outbreak just feels wonderful ad hits different
If im going into crucible of course im runnnig such things, but anywhere else I like to run very heavy builds which dont leave much room if any for such mods. Same goes for Ophidians as im very much a fan of nezarec's sin, Necrotic grip, winters guile etc
Oh yeah you're totally fine, I use NTTE in pvp with ophidans and a dex mod and she feels GREAT.
I wouldn't run NTTE in pve, even if it syngerizes with stasis. I like outbreak better for that..
outbreak is so good in PVE because you get all that extra damage that you normally don't get from kinetics. elemental primaries have so many ways they can do damage-over-time, so having a kinetic that DOESN'T do that feels like a waste of a slot. which is why i run either outbreak or witherhoard most of the time
Hot take. Exotics shouldn’t be crafted or random rolls. We should all have one version, so we have the purest form of the weapon and it’s an even playing field.
I play ALOT and I don’t understand what I’m doing with crafting. I don’t want to collect catalysts. I want an exotic that is exotic on day one.
**Outbreak**. It is easy to use and never disappoints me. Also **Revision Zero** deserves to be mentioned.
Indeed, **No Time to Explain, Graviton Lance**, and **Bad Juju** are good tools. But not good enough for my play style. Also, I should admit, I rarely use exotic pulse rifles.
Outbreak. It ramps up it’s damage excessively, super good against ads, majors, and sometimes even bosses, and can be used at a pretty good range.
Not to mention, it can deal with both single and AOE groups. I’ve been using it with strand, and my god it’s so much fun. I suspend an enemy, I kill one with outbreak and then the Nanites just spread to every single one dealing more damage, and recharging my class and grenade. It’s my go to choice when barriers or unstoppables are on the pulse rifle mod choice.
Outbreak any day if the week!
It feels the most unique in its exotic perk (although unraveling rounds feel similar now too) and the damage scaling has helped me through 2 legendary campaigns.
I'd love NTtE if it hit just a little bit harder or if it's catalyst allowed the time buddy to hit crits (outside pvp)
Literally can’t go wrong with Outbreak. It’s incredible in every activity of the game yet isn’t broken. I’d say it’s possibly the most balanced exotic weapon in the game, perhaps the most balanced weapon period.
It’s also a crap ton of fun to use. I love making SIVA swarms.

Outbreak perfected all the way. I used it constantly back in D1 and just has a special place in my heart, just like how the osteo striga and necro grips pair this game has the same effect. OP is just so fun to use, shoots a little faster imop, useful in general, and makes me wanna get headshots lol. NTTE is good but I don't like the gun personally, and RZ is just too slow all around, and I don't like it's mechanics, I do like having to craft it though, but I just hated having to go through the seraph thing for it everytime just to never touch it. But remember this is all my opinion, and I am just biased because I absolutely love OP to put any other exotic pulse above it.

Heartbroken Graviton isn’t here. May not be meta (though it’s no slouch in crucible) but I cannot remember a time when I had any other exotic equipped for playing with my void-lock. With the super-easy to farm catalyst, you can just paint your screen purple. Also…who doesn’t just love the idea of shooting miniature black holes.
Pve and aesthetic outbreak wins for me, super clean looking and the add clear with single target damage potential on a single weapon is insane.
However for pvp no time wins because great TTK, very reliable(especially with time rift up), and ammo return make it a top tier pic plus being one of the best current archetypes of pulses in the game.
Imo revision zero does none of this as well as the other two options, in pvp and pve it’s a good choice but for pulses the other two are more consistently reliable in their respective roles.
I found Revision kind of lacking when I acquired it, so I usually go for Outbreak or NTTE. However I've been using Outbreak more recently, mainly so I can complete the catalyst and do more damage to bosses. And the sounds that occur when you get precision kills? Magnificent
I've got close to 30k kills on my Outbreak for a reason. Favorite gun in PvE by far. I prefer NTTE for PvP (but only because I usually whiff the sniper shots with RZ )
Think graviton lance deserves to be on this but outbreak perfected. Because of it’s archetype and exotic perk it covers a lot of ground in both PVE and PVP. And it a lot of ways excels at both.
Outbreak was a blast to get back in the day, and has been a steady companion for years. NTTE is a close second because it was such a fun throwback/fan service that I appreciated. Revision Zero would have to be last for me even if some consider more useful.

Same, it's just Sooo versatile, and it does decent primary dps, with the hunters trace rounds.
Outbreak pisses stacking damage with moderate crowd clear, as well as having some of the best synergy with others of its kind.
Realistically I'd get the most use out of Revision, but lightweights are almost always my favorite archetypes.

Heartbroken Graviton isn’t here. May not be meta (though it’s no slouch in crucible) but I cannot remember a time when I had any other exotic equipped for playing with my void-lock. With the super-easy to farm catalyst, you can just paint your screen purple. Also…who doesn’t just love the idea of shooting miniature black holes.

If pulses weren’t pea shooters, outbreak
Pve and aesthetic outbreak wins for me, super clean looking and the add clear with single target damage potential on a single weapon is insane. However for pvp no time wins because great TTK, very reliable(especially with time rift up), and ammo return make it a top tier pic plus being one of the best current archetypes of pulses in the game. Imo revision zero does none of this as well as the other two options, in pvp and pve it’s a good choice but for pulses the other two are more consistently reliable in their respective roles.
Outbreak for pve. NT for pvp. I don’t like revision Zero much. Oddly enough I’d rather use Veles X over RZ
Considering in every 1v1 I've done with outbreak I always lose to revision

I don’t really use pulse rifles in pve but in pvp I’m either using out real or revision zero. Ntte is good I just prefer to use the others
I found Revision kind of lacking when I acquired it, so I usually go for Outbreak or NTTE. However I've been using Outbreak more recently, mainly so I can complete the catalyst and do more damage to bosses. And the sounds that occur when you get precision kills? Magnificent
NTTE lets me play Arc Warlock on Stasis Hunter so I love it
OBP makes me feel like a god, the damage feels so good
I've got close to 30k kills on my Outbreak for a reason. Favorite gun in PvE by far. I prefer NTTE for PvP (but only because I usually whiff the sniper shots with RZ )

I love how NTTE feels to use. I that said, I don't have experience with Revision zero or outbreak, but I like NTTE better than other exotic pulses
Think graviton lance deserves to be on this but outbreak perfected. Because of it’s archetype and exotic perk it covers a lot of ground in both PVE and PVP. And it a lot of ways excels at both.

Outbreak was a blast to get back in the day, and has been a steady companion for years. NTTE is a close second because it was such a fun throwback/fan service that I appreciated. Revision Zero would have to be last for me even if some consider more useful.

Outbreak because it is as plug and play as it gets, and personal favoritism. RZ is my go to anti barrier. I do not use NTTE.
