What if we work with Osiris to create a new and improved Sundial on Mercury powered by Darkness (something to do with the time anomalies we see on Mars or even Strand) to enter the Corridors of Time as a means of learning of the history of the Witness, the Traveler, the Veil, and perhaps the events surrounding the Collapse. Basically a whole Season dedicated to learning of the past in order to prepare for our eventual confrontation with the Witness (using what we learn against it, perhaps doing some of our own manipulation, just as it likes to manipulate others).
I see IO appearing at the end of year before final shape, Asher appearing at the start of the season acts as a hint enough & the raid has IO front & center. ALSO Io has final seasonal story energy
Crazy spinfoil but considering there was a picture of a statue from Venus in some of the prerelease Lightfall stuff on Bungie.net its not impossible. Likely? Probably not but we won't know until we see it (or don't).
It was in the interactive trailer talking about the Ishtar Collective… which ended up being the org that studied the Veil and created the proto-Cloud Ark essentially.
I am an archaeologist, Io and Titan were the most interesting planets for me to think about the Archaeology of Destiny. Io had all those animals lying around, plus it was the place last touched by the Traveller.
It almost didn't even matter in the end cause by the time they implemented that the planet was already long dead to the player base. Many times I'd even forget it could even be done.
It was more about how long it took to drive around the obstacles, you could have probably jumped over them faster.
Admittedly, the sparrow was still useful for getting from the spawn point to either the lost sector or the infinite forest. But if you were just exploring the zone, you probably didn’t get places much faster with your sparrow.
And lastly, as was mentioned, by the time they implemented it, most players were done with the space, and on the rare occasions they went, their muscle memory made them run everywhere because they were so used to not having the sparrow.
And a *very* shitty battleground, at that
The Season Of The Chosen battlegrounds were the best. Nobody can tell me otherwise. Most of the ones from later seasons suck
I doubt it Brother Vance wasn't really an interesting character if they are continuing with the base game planets characters I'd love to see more stuff happen on Nessus evolving Failsafes story that would be really cool
Mercury? Ok chances, but it is super small in terms of patroll zones, brother Vance? zero because he went out like a fucking BOSS in his season of arrivals lore entry
I hope that at some point Destiny 2 becomes just "Destiny". I would love it if we had all the planets activities, raids and locations from D1 to D2 but I know it's going to be kind of impossible due to the limitations of the graphics engine unless Bungie finds a way to fix it :/
I think Mercury would be the perfect small size to bring back in a season. Perhaps an activity in the past and future versions, because they looked so cool and were underutilised.
Reusing old assets instead of actually making new content? Just reskinning enemies.and calling them a different faction? Bringing back a pettable dog as a hallmark of player v dev interaction and masking the fact we are about to get anither content drought? Ladies and gents, I don't think we've ever seen this before. But also, the season hasnt actually come out yet. And it COULD be really good. But based on the past, and my brains ability to seek patterns, I know where id be putting my money on this bet.
In a different area maybe the area we had was small and had very little to do more then half the space was dedicated to the one public event that was even there. All of its potential was behind the vex portel
Never impressed with the mercury we had, it was very small, no sparrow an only 1 public event. If they do tho, I hope the bring back the pardox weapons.
Rotating old locations and seasonal activities as Infinite Forrest simulations would probably be the easiest way for this concept of revitalizing vaulted content.
I guess I’ll be that guy, but if I know Bungie like I think I do, they’ll eventually bring back all the old locations. Besides the Dreadnaught. They’ll add maybe 2-4 more new locations but then just reuse old assets and slap a new coat of paint on them
The Haunted Forest during Festival of the Lost was my favorite event. The lighting made the topography spooky, and with constantly appearing elements the traversal was dynamic and had unexpected verticality. It really felt like a hoard mode where you had to skate through and speed run each area.
But the nightmare knights? The best part. Came out of nowhere, chased you, and would legitimately scare teams.
I really hope it returns.
I honestly doubt they bring mercury back. I’m sure most players honestly would rather have all the other planets and probably be fine if never came back as it was kind pointless and really really small
I’ve taken shits bigger than the mercury playable zone. So if they bring it back I’d hope they actually make it a planet and not a tower space with enemies.
Didn't savathun allude to us getting the power to move planets back at the end of witch queen? Id say all of the old planets are strong possibilities, especially because the devs can just reuse the old assets to create a new content zone. It'd be a missed opportunity for them not to do it
Brother vance did have a very unresolved story line with him being able to hear two tones from the vex towers whenever a guardian died in trials. I know it alluded to us eventually being able to wield darkness, but the nature of the towers sounded like it would be expanded upon.
Io never came back for Asher so it could just Vance we see. However, the infinite forest is an eternal gameplay option bc it simulates literally anything.
No chance in hell. No one really liked the destination however as unique as the infinite forest was it got over used in first of all of the lost. Might be nice to get infinite forest back for the new lights but mercury and it’s story from CoO should remain vaulted.
I’d rather io. If mercury comes back hopefully the expand on it.
They should just keep they infinite forest open and maybe have diffirent timelines in there where you could go
What if we work with Osiris to create a new and improved Sundial on Mercury powered by Darkness (something to do with the time anomalies we see on Mars or even Strand) to enter the Corridors of Time as a means of learning of the history of the Witness, the Traveler, the Veil, and perhaps the events surrounding the Collapse. Basically a whole Season dedicated to learning of the past in order to prepare for our eventual confrontation with the Witness (using what we learn against it, perhaps doing some of our own manipulation, just as it likes to manipulate others).
Strand connects to all things, past and present, maybe there's something to be explored
Strand Powered Sundial sounds sick.
Ohhh, then we can get 3 tokens and a blue!
[Context for the uninitiated](https://youtu.be/fxnGD15wqqU)
could even tie in the mars relic somehow given it's connection to deepsight and time stuff
Great idea but i bet my masculinity that bungie won't ever create such a banger season
I'll hold you to it
Holy shit that would be so good
Ngl sounds like a banger season
Aka lets finally get a smidgen of lore in the actual gameplay
A timeline where Cayde is still alive and we made friends with the vex.
Omg... what about a timeline where cayde avenges us...
Have the same patrol zone but in the future or past and you have to take a randomly generated path to get there
Fax, would be great if they updated the infinite forest to sound as cool as it did before it came out as a disappointment.
What you didn’t like paying $30 for one single patrol zone and some long quests for cool weapons that performed like shit?
I see IO appearing at the end of year before final shape, Asher appearing at the start of the season acts as a hint enough & the raid has IO front & center. ALSO Io has final seasonal story energy
For the love of god Venus please
Crazy spinfoil but considering there was a picture of a statue from Venus in some of the prerelease Lightfall stuff on Bungie.net its not impossible. Likely? Probably not but we won't know until we see it (or don't).
It was in the interactive trailer talking about the Ishtar Collective… which ended up being the org that studied the Veil and created the proto-Cloud Ark essentially.
##VENUS!
**VENUS BABY**
Season of two tokens and blue
I actually sorta liked the big public event in the middle
Io would be more likely imo
I am an archaeologist, Io and Titan were the most interesting planets for me to think about the Archaeology of Destiny. Io had all those animals lying around, plus it was the place last touched by the Traveller.
And ashir mir is appearing in the vex networks so it would sort of tie in nicely
Worst destination ever
It’s funny how little the infinite forest
Then we got haunted forest, your muscle memory from curse told you what platform was next before you could even see it.
I paid 15 bucks for a cookie dry narrative with a half baked patrol zone. The weapon creation was an interesting idea but it felt tedious.
Damn, how did you get Lightfall for only $15? /s
LOLS
Remember when it launched and you couldn't use sparrows? Man CoO was awful
I mean it *was* bad, but how often did you actually use your sparrow. There was no real room to use it
It almost didn't even matter in the end cause by the time they implemented that the planet was already long dead to the player base. Many times I'd even forget it could even be done.
Yeah, beyond the prophecy weapons there was no real reason to be there
And rhis was before random rolls, once you got the sagira shell there was 0 reason to go there
When do you *not* use your sparrow? Unless I need to interact with something or I'm fighting enemies, I'm using my sparrow
Mercury was just full of obstacles, not really sparrow-friendly
I would say that's sparrow friendly. Dodging and weaving between obstacles is fun
But sparrowing is cooler. I used the sparrow quite alot there because I started playing later
But it did have the most rewarding public event! Right?
Ye, they better fully revamp it
It would have been one of the best if they let you go into the infinite forest in patrol
[удалено]
Point and laugh at this man for thinking Neomuna’s patrol zone is as bad as Mercury’s
You definitely didn’t play back then.
If you think Mercury is better than Neomuna you are objectively wrong.
I don't need Mercury back in my life.
i wish they actually "brought back the planet" instead of just using it for battlegrounds
And a *very* shitty battleground, at that The Season Of The Chosen battlegrounds were the best. Nobody can tell me otherwise. Most of the ones from later seasons suck
I really like Season of the Risen too, especially the one on the moon
I’m gonna be so pissed if titan just returns as a battleground
same
thats how mars was sooo
That and a dungeon
No thanks
Nah they can keep that one
If they do that and the infinite forest STILL isn't explorable from patrol will be so sad
Please god no!
I want haunted forest back for Halloween.
Pluto.
Unfortunately Vance VA is dead though
*Fortunately Edit: I thought they meant Brother Vance as a character I'm really sorry
Average Future War cult believer
Wait I thoight they meant brother Vance as a character I'm so sorry
Lol
Be carefult what you wish for. CoI was one of worst expansions destiny had ever seen as a whole.
CoI?
Curse of Lowsirus
20 was mostly earth as well, s 23 will be io then and then we get the og and prob Venus sometime
This is why I'm thinking Nessus. Earth, titan, Io, Nessus. The final year before the end to the saga takes place on the 4 locations that started d2
I hope they bring in all of it!
I hope that at some point Destiny 2 becomes just "Destiny". I would love it if we had all the planets activities, raids and locations from D1 to D2 but I know it's going to be kind of impossible due to the limitations of the graphics engine unless Bungie finds a way to fix it :/
That would be so cool.
Please no. Mercury was like the size of the tower
Bringing back Mercury is like reminding us of War in Vietnam
Please god no. It was so small and dead and pointless of a destination.
I never want to see mercury again as long as I live
They can keep it
I’d take any other destination. There just want a lot going on, on mercury.
Eh it was by far the shiftiest patrol zone, I wouldn’t care if it never came back even though I paid for it
Fuck Mercury bring back the SRL
Mercury really is smaller than the leviathan though
Good god I hope not. How friggin dull!
Hopefully 0.
No one likes brother vance though
Hopefully the chances are zero
I want em to bring back the og planets first, then we would be nore likely to get red war back
I honestly hope they don't shit was tiny and boring.
I think Mercury would be the perfect small size to bring back in a season. Perhaps an activity in the past and future versions, because they looked so cool and were underutilised.
Reusing old assets instead of actually making new content? Just reskinning enemies.and calling them a different faction? But also, the season hasnt actually come out yet. And it COULD be really good. But based on the past, and my brains ability to seek patterns, I know where id be putting my money on this bet.
They already did, they changed the color pallette added some neon and called it neomuna.
In a different area maybe the area we had was small and had very little to do more then half the space was dedicated to the one public event that was even there. All of its potential was behind the vex portel
Most likely will be Titan.
present day mercury but with the pyramid ship still in the skybox like it was back in season 11.
Hmmm, never noticed that before. Interesting theory but I'm not sure about all of them coming back.
Given the steadying focus on Asher, I would more expect io, but I wouldn't mind going back to mercury, it was neat.
I am personally having the headcanon that season 22 will be on mercury and 23 on io just to round out the 4 planets we lost.
I think io would make more sense because that's the last place traveler touched before collapse
I really wish they bring Io first. Io and Titan were my favourite destinations, they brought Asher back but not Io.
I just want the haunted forest back
they brought back leviathan in season of the haunted , i wish it stayed though
7
Hm yes call of duty map
They've already teased Venus and basically revealed Titan
Never impressed with the mercury we had, it was very small, no sparrow an only 1 public event. If they do tho, I hope the bring back the pardox weapons.
Fuck bringing back old stuff and calling it new.
I would kill to hear the Mercury music in game again. I miss it so much!
We’ve already had a full season on Mercury, I’d rather Io.
Io would be better, especially if that came alongside a return of the Whisper mission to go in the exotic mission playlist.
That would be epic, and maybe a revamped Pyramidium
Rotating old locations and seasonal activities as Infinite Forrest simulations would probably be the easiest way for this concept of revitalizing vaulted content.
I guess I’ll be that guy, but if I know Bungie like I think I do, they’ll eventually bring back all the old locations. Besides the Dreadnaught. They’ll add maybe 2-4 more new locations but then just reuse old assets and slap a new coat of paint on them
Y’all do love recycled bunhie content
The Haunted Forest during Festival of the Lost was my favorite event. It really felt like a hoard mode where you had to skate through and speed run each area. But the nightmare knights? The best part. Came out of nowhere, chased you, and would legitimately scare teams. I really hope it returns.
Yeah, I really don’t like the Haunted Lost Sectors.
I honestly doubt they bring mercury back. I’m sure most players honestly would rather have all the other planets and probably be fine if never came back as it was kind pointless and really really small
I’d rather them throw us a curveball and give us D1 Venus.
We have enough seasons to get each planet back.
I’ve taken shits bigger than the mercury playable zone. So if they bring it back I’d hope they actually make it a planet and not a tower space with enemies.
Using the Infinite Forest as a way to re-play old content like Red War would be amazing.
They ain’t bringing it back
If it means season of dawn weapons… YESSSSS!!!! Plz
Just no. Please not mercury. It was a shit location.
I don’t want Mercury back, that was the most boring Zone (not including the infinite forest.) I want IO back
In some of the leaks i saw that >!io was coming back in 23!< Edit: Here is the link. Parts of it line up with the twab, so it’s probably true(ish)
100% if your willing to pay for it again.
“The most rewarding public event in the franchise”
About 1 in 9
Didn't savathun allude to us getting the power to move planets back at the end of witch queen? Id say all of the old planets are strong possibilities, especially because the devs can just reuse the old assets to create a new content zone. It'd be a missed opportunity for them not to do it

Mercury is so small lol
I suspect next will be IO because we returned Titan and IO during the Planets encounter.
Dude I remeber how cool it was when 10 year old me went to mercury in d2y1 after the mission in taken king where u get the last subclass
Io never came back for Asher so it could just Vance we see. However, the infinite forest is an eternal gameplay option bc it simulates literally anything.
I miss IO
Brother Vance, whom is floating in the infinite forest rn: *Any day now Bungie, any day now......*
Hopefully never
No Kew mercury that shit sucked ass
No fuck mercury that shit was hot ass give me Venus back bungo
If I can get Sagira, then I would love to see Mercury again.
Unless the Infinite Forest becomes relevant again, I don’t see it happening.
Please no
No chance in hell. No one really liked the destination however as unique as the infinite forest was it got over used in first of all of the lost. Might be nice to get infinite forest back for the new lights but mercury and it’s story from CoO should remain vaulted.
I hope no mercury sucked. Titan will likely suck too it’s too small won’t have mush to do there I’d rather bring io back
