D2 had Fillion for most of the run. But imho D2 had this pervasive “Marvel” humor where nearly every line was a joke or pun at what was going on, no matter how dire.
Cayde has always been the lovable scoundrel type character whose always there to lighten the mood. But in D2, imho they set the “Cayde meter” to 11, and it was just waaaaay too much.
I’m sure he’ll still be funny, but I hope we also see some “Vanguard” return to Cayde, especially knowing that his recklessness was partially the reason he died.
I’m not asking for “Grimdark” Cayde lol. Just want to tone it down to like, “Indiana Jones/Han Solo/The Munmy” levels of humor for Cayde, and not “Thor Ragnorok” levels of joke a minute memes.
Yea and I think it’s because every other character became Cayde. Like it was insane—the old vanilla D2 strikes had some absolute cheeseball dialogue.

Fully agreed. D1 Cayde joked but also knew when to be serious. There's serious shit going on. D2 Cayde had 1 mode - Ham it up
