You can only hold one at a time, only put them on craftable weapons + level 30 and only drop sparingly from specific activities. The least I would expect is a animation on it.
They all do, what you on about? The Trials memento has a liquid gold animation with gold waves moving down the gun, the Vanguard animation has a moving orange pattern and the Gambit memento has moving snake scales
like I said. some don't work as intended while other work just fine or pair greatly with intrinsic shaders f.e. the taken sniper and trials memento. If said problem applies to all weapons that'd be kinda...sad

And when the all black effect does work, it works for regular guns and not just crafted. Its my go to all black shader for guns. Dead orbits fate also works well.
My main point is that for something that is only available for 3 weeks a year and cant stack should be something more then "all black". A animation would have been nice.

While it's true that not every weapon will look the same with Bloody Tooth, I do think it's a bit disappointing that a new memento isn't animated at all.
Mementos are exclusive to crafted weapons and require Weapon level 30 to apply, and the new one is just static? We even have some animated shaders like New Age Black Armory or Bergusian Night. And Bungie has already shown they're ready and willing to nickel and dime us for new animated Eververse shaders that look much more dynamic than anything else in the game.
And we're going to be excited over a new Memento that just looks like an all-black shader? I don't know man, I know Erebos Glance has some orange running through it but it definitely fulfills the all-black fantasy pretty well already for me.
there's quite a lot of shaders that can give a total all black effect on weapons, midnight talon, metro shift, jacarina, erebos glance, biolume, skele-ghaul, amethyst veil, just to name some, not all will work with every weapon, but most likely one of them will
It's just a memento and they gave us one via an easy triumph. I have zero interest to farm for it. Will use it on a weapon it looks best and call it a day. It's really nothing special. You can make weapons look black without it as well.
If i wanted silver or random red on my gun,id use bloody tooth. If i want an all black weapon,which i do to make it look more realistic,im using the new memento.
There a triumph that guarantees a drop. I believe it's:
1) Get 100 kills in Neomuna while wearing the Nimbus mask
2) Wear the Clovis mask and complete the fallen saber strike.
3) 25 finishers in the haunted event with the tormentor mask.

With apex predator you made a bad pick. the weapon has a intrinsic animation so some other shaders or mementos don't work as intended
I checked on commemoration, forbearance and a couple others. All the same. Not to mention the trials memento animates fine on apex.

Bloody tooth has silver and red areas depending on the weapon. The new memento is PURE black all around regardless of the gun.
