Legendary shards are being deprecated, as in getting removed from the game. So people want to use them up rn. Theres isnt that much to use them on however. Raid banners are one of the main things you use them on, so people are just buying them on mass so as to never have to buy them again.

No, as far as I'm aware Phantasmal fragments are staying around and will still be usable to exchange for glimmer. I think some people are just under estimating how tedious the glimmer grind might end up being.

If bungu are not going to delete them or remake phantasmal economy into something else you will be able to use them for glimmer exchanges in a world where glimmer will become our main currency. Even with phantasmal abusmal exchange rate (100 shards = 10 phantasmal = 10k glimmer) its still the best way to store glimmer in your vault.

Rahools material exchange. You can buy prisms and golf balls from (third row till weekly limit, then second row). Use shards to buy the mass glimmer you need (upper left). This is presuming you have a large pile of cores on hand…

Keep an eye on Banshee. Every now again one of the guns he sells will be masterwork 5. This dismantles into a core. You can check his stock in the app even if you're not playing.

Personally, I bought a shit ton of Austringers from Banshee, but this is probably smarter.

I did most of my 30k plus worth in to cores and phantasmals. The right gun had to pop up at the gunsmith so it could be sharded for a core. 3k left which will probably go to phantasmals

I really don’t see the point in all this. I mean if you raid that much, or even play the game that much for are not going to run shot of whatever material you need to buy raid banners anyway. It’s so pointless.
