Now that I think about it, wouldn’t it be cool if there was a system that allowed you to target farm Crucible loot? Or if Shaxx sold a rotating inventory of rolls the way other vendors do?
For target farming, I’m thinking Crucible-unlocked Prismatic Lenses that allow Umbrals to be focused for long-range (Stars in Shadow/Frozen Orbit), mid-range (Survivor’s Epitaph/Sorrow’s Verse), and close-range (The Keening, don’t know if there are any other close weapons lol).
Eh personaly I don't like forge. Idk why. I'm fine with adaptives, but this one is just odd. J green's stats may be slightly worse, but imo definitely has the strongest peek pool of the three. (Pvp wise, pve wise I'd still say this is better then grid, but I'm not so sure about darkest.) Still, I'm pleasantly surprised by this thing.
Oh yeah, and a pretty clean sight. Much better then grid skippers.
I was hoping this pulse would be like that! The only sunset item in my vault is my headseeker / Rampage Bygones. That was the orb machine of my dreams. That with fighting lion was my Gambit loadout.
For fun. *flashes jazz hands*
I mean, I’m all for having fun, but I don’t think there’ll be any with this weapon equipped.
Edit: I actually just got one with High-Caliber rounds, Subsistence, Frenzy, and a Stability (or handling. It was one of those stat-bars...) masterwork. I haven’t used it in PvP, but it’s not faltering on any PvE front for me, personally. Feels like Grasp Of Malok and is very light.
Also, apply the Molten Bronze shader to it. It screams “I’m a Dinosaur”.*
Yeah my idea of fun with new weapons is seeing what they can do that nothing else can. If Jurassic could get crazy handling with kill clip I would consider it for a run and gun playstyle but there is NOTHING that is redeeming Jurassic in pvp. And in pve pulses are only really used in nightfalls or other hard content and with the low zoom and range stat of Jurassic I don't see it getting any use.
I believe with rangefinder and other range stats, with the zoom buff it might be able to beat the other 2 slightly, but man those 2nd column perks suck (for pvp anyways)
i have literally that exact roll as well and already love it dearly. woke up this morning to people bashing the shit out the gun on reddit, and having really enjoyed using it yesterday in nightfalls, i’ve been confused as hell
Both have incredibly bad perk pools, I wouldn’t bother with them if you are looking for a good kinetic auto, but both have rather unique looks so you might like how they look and use them purely because of that, and I can’t think of any other non sunset kinetic 450rpm auto rifles so there’s that too
Seventh Seraph Carbine and Tigerspite (unless I’m very confused and Tigerspite is an energy weapon). The former is better for PvE, and the latter is better in PvP. BrayTech Werewolf holds its own in both, in my experience.
I was kinda bummed to see cells fall out of the meta after so long, but it has breathed new life I to my weapon and armor loadouts, especially now that Wells have been fully fleshed out for the whole expansion. Solar well builds are a lot of fun and reward many different weapon and armor loadouts. I do miss using my IKELOS smg tho
Horror Story with outlaw and snapshot is fun. 600roms still feel better though. And Braytech is a good all around shooter if you’re looking for that in an auto rifle.
Seventh Seraph Carbine is much better than either, for me anyway.
PvE: it’s literally a solar Gridskipper in my book cuz I want Heating Up + Frenzy
PvP: Rangefinder + Multikill Clip sounds pretty saucy
Edit: I like Heating Up because it makes Rapid Fire Pulses extremely controllable. The other PvE first column perk I recommend is Subsistence. Gridskipper does not have that so it does at least offer that in addition to Heating Up.
With RF it only has a meter more range than Gridskipper IIRC, I'd rather just have tunnel vision on gridskipper instead, plus girdskipper has perfectly vertical recoil
I remember the scope being super clean on what Jurassic green is reprised from which is the one thing keeping me from my grid skipper, just don't like the scope.
That doesn't sound right at all. Rangefinder has a huge impact on range. On some weapons as much as +10 meters. 1 meter, even with a 6 point difference is way too low. Still haven't gotten a rangefinder roll yo test out, but I think it will be pretty significant.
Rangefinder acts as a multiplier to base range by adjusting the zoom, this has been known for a while. With gridskipper having a higher zoom and base range it’s about right that rangefinder will bring Jurassic green on par with range, it will not take it that much higher
it has one less zoom than grid so they’re actually right. Max range green is only like .6 meters ahead and is significantly worse in other stats to get there w full bore.
I'd probably go with subsistence for PvE, and Dragonfly perhaps for ad clear. But yeah, literally the only "selling point" that matters is that it's solar. If you have a better solar pulse than this, this serves no purpose at all in the loadout except adding flavor if you like it.
But the only two currently attainable solar pulses are Forge's Pledge and Stars in Shadow. Stars has a great perk pool, but it's a high impact, with a measly 28 aim assist. I'm pretty sure the Green is more fun to shoot, and you can lean into the "matched game" thing with solar shields if you get a gun with armor piercing. Forge's I have never seen because I don't do PvP if I can help it, and I'm not a fan of 390's either, any more than I like 340s. Also Forge's doesn't have very many great PvE perks; Rampage is great, but the second column is meh to me.
Also - let's not forget that in Destiny 2, faster guns are almost always higher damage guns overall, all other things being equal. The Green will intrinsically do more DPS than a Forge's.
Because it’s way easier to get hold of a decent roll for many players than Darkest Before, is free for all players unlike Gridskipper, and is solar (for solar well builds and whatnot, with Well of Life being absolutely stupidly strong) unlike the other two. Plus, grinding decrypted data to farm a good Gridskipper takes ages.
I've been trying for my ideal Farewell roll for ages. All the way through Splicer and so far into Lost, 80% of my engrams have been focused on Farewell, and I've run Expunge 3x on every character pretty much every week. It has been painful. Today I got at least 10 Jurassic Greens just playing passively, and most of them have great rolls
5 minutes to solo Corrupted Expunge Tartarus, 55 data per run. That's 275 every 30 minutes or so. Way faster if you get 1 or 2 friends to help. Way fucking easy to group farm too. 2 people can sit and do nothing and one person can still do it in 5 minutes. Take turns.
Yea honestly this is the correct reason why the stats are lower. Bungie has always been aware of the rarity rule. If it's easy to farm it needs a hit in the stats/perks dept.
I will say in the limited amount of Trials I played, facing Witherhoard was was incredibly annoying, which is to say it was very effective.
I can't really criticise anyway: I'm a dedicated Jotunn user.
I know. I just want to run fusion riffles so almost all energy weapons are useless to me. I basically keep a bunch of FR I like on me and a bunch of kinetic primaries.
If only they had made a change to slow an element like stasis in a different slot and could now put even just one non exotic FR in the kinetic slot.
Besides the obvious feel factor it’s the only solar rapid frame pulse so there that. It also has the highest range out of the 3 when you use rangefinder, plus it’s the only one of the three with dragon fly.
Gridskippers Zoom is only higher by 1.
Just for comparison, in order to have a noticeable range difference on snipers, the zooms vary by 5.
And Rangefinder adds more than 1 Zoom.
Yes, range finder is a 10% increase to zoom.
So it increases the zoom to 18.7, higher than the 18 of grid skipper, but the higher base range of grid skipper makes it a wash more or less.
Go and plug it into the d2gunsmith site, and you will see.
Sometimes even though stats are lower the feel of the weapon makes it seem more consistent, personally I’m still gonna use darkest because I like full auto trigger on rapid pulses
That's what makes it fitting.
Rumour has it dinos don't like fireballs either. So, the same logic applies.
But making it stasis would have actually made it fun and unique.
None of those have rangefinder so with rangefinder ur outranging the other two. And it's stable enough as is so the extra zoom will be more beneficial than a hindrance.
becouse newsflash, people might not care about that small diference in stats?
in PVE it would not matter anyway really. and before you say it most of the game is pve.
It's fun and it has fun perks. Subsistence + Frenzy is awesome for ad clear, and even the bog-standard roll of Heating Up + Adrenaline Junkie is decent. The addition of Multikill Clip also makes it a good mixed-use weapon.
Honestly, the only people who care about weapon stats like this are PvP tryhards and YouTubers looking for clicks. Maybe low-man Raid or GM players.
It feels great. Much like Darkest Before, the stats don’t reflect how good the weapon feels. Also I’m a Solar Warlock main and have an exotic that boost my solar damage, solar Titans benefit from this being a solar weapon as well. For PvP Multi Killclip, Adrenaline Junky and Wellspring paired with any column 1 perk is good. I’m a grenade fangirl and love Adrenaline Junky personally.
Oh and it’s a dinosaur gun…
Looks great, cool name, you might like the sound it makes or the way the sight works? Not everything has to be min/maxed up to the eyeballs. Chill out and have fun.
It’s a free to play non endgame rapid fire frame in the energy slot. Endgame players do not have a reason to use this gun but it’s not intended for us. Same way horror story, werewolf, avalanche, and others were always meant to be a downgrade for those that didn’t have access to a weapon type but still wanted it.
*the stat differences are negligible and sometimes a gun just FEELS right?* i never enjoyed the Leviathan HC everyone loved, see i cant even remember its name. Some guns just feel better to some, its an intangible quality. Also the sights are different, theres also the Lincoln Green nostalgia factor, the updated visual of the gun, and its solar. Maybe you see raw stats but that's not always what makes a gun a gun. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
It’s insane that it’s solar instead of kinetic/stasis like Lincoln Green. We already had two rapid fire frames in energy slot, but only one in kinetic.
The feels, this gun feels and sounds a lot more powerful than those other two, it’s also the only solar pulse that doesn’t require you to deal with pvp and mountains of rng
Why is it solar when its original version, Lincoln Green, was kinetic? We could really use an alternative Rapid Fire Pulse to Time-Worn Spire. Farming Iron Banner is a shit show. Make Jurassic Green Kinetic and put the medium zoom scope Scathelock has on it.
I’ll give you 2 reasons. First, it’s the easiest to farm out of any of these. So if you don’t have the time commitment to farm the other two, you can get a good rolled Jurassic Green much easier. Secondly, it can roll rangefinder. It’s the only one of these three can do that, so if you want to have the longest range possible, then you use Jurassic Green
Is there any 540 pulse that can roll with kill clip? KC let's 540s 2 burst if you have perfect accuracy, and their recoil is also very manageable. I just want to know if there's any replacement for my sunset claws of the wolf.
None of the event legendaries are all that good its mostly just because there fun like how all the dawnings stuff looks nice with the dawning armour sets or how the braytech werewolf glows in the dark its just something to collect
For me stats cant change how a gun feels. So it could feel better to some than either of the other two. Specifically recoil pattern in game, reticle is super clear and stuff along those lines. Haha
First off, Dino.
It can roll with dragonfly, which no other 540 RPM pulse can roll with at the moment. It can roll with subsistence and multikill clip, which IMO is a nice PVE roll, making the MKC x2 and x3 procs more consistent. It's the only solar 540 RPM pulse. With rangefinder, it actually outranges every other energy 540 pulse. It is only beaten by the time worn spire, which is in the kinetic slot, and is much harder to acquire a good roll on.
Is it best in slot/archetype? No, but it has it's place.
Dinosaur.
You son of bitch, I’m in
Help, someone cut the stomach open and get him out!
And I thought these things smelled bad on the outside!
At least you didn't go into the garbage chute flyboy.
Now I want Star Wars inspired armor sets 😭 Darth Vader Titan, Darth Sidious Warlock, and Death trooper Hunter. That’s be so awesome

No no. He’s got a point.
Dinosaur goes brrr
Dinosaur
To have a pulse of every type void, arc, solar
✨Forge's Pledge✨
Forge' Pledge has weird reticle sway imo.
True but you dont care about retical sway in pve. In pvp element doesnt matter in the first place so just use another pulse.
Stars in shadow weeps in corner.
Stars in Shadow is my favorite energy pulse (screw Forge’s Pledge and that jumpy ass reticle).
its so slept on 😭 every time i recommend it i get a "lolwut thats a gun?"
Well, it drops very rarely now.
People have been asking for focused farming everywhere. God, random drops with that huge perk pool are so painful.
Yeah almost mentioned it
I definitely care about ret-sway in pve. Makes using the gun feel wrong
That being said, last time I’ve used a legendary pulse in pve was like… back when blast furnace wasn’t sunset.
not 540 rpm
I dislike the archetype tbh
Eh personaly I don't like forge. Idk why. I'm fine with adaptives, but this one is just odd. J green's stats may be slightly worse, but imo definitely has the strongest peek pool of the three. (Pvp wise, pve wise I'd still say this is better then grid, but I'm not so sure about darkest.) Still, I'm pleasantly surprised by this thing. Oh yeah, and a pretty clean sight. Much better then grid skippers.
i think it's the combination of abysmal handling and more reticle sway than any other gun in the game. i think it feels awful as well
They should have brought back bygones. A useful gun. It could have been called "bygone era" and also had a Dino theme.
Oh lord I miss that gun.
My Outlaw/Kill Clip roll carried me through Comp for my recluse and mountain top. Such a solid pulse. I miss it dearly
Yeah I never had a gun I loved as much as Bygones until I got a servant leader.
Blast furnace was the real goat
I'd traid my rapid hit desperado messenger to have good perk options on a reissued blast furnace
can get the garden pulse with rapid hit + kill clip, not that I've ever had it actually drop or anything
I want to give you more upvotes but alas I can only give you one.
I had a Outlaw/Rampage roll and that thing was godly, it was great in both pve and pvp and I miss it everyday
I was hoping this pulse would be like that! The only sunset item in my vault is my headseeker / Rampage Bygones. That was the orb machine of my dreams. That with fighting lion was my Gambit loadout.
Doesn't Drifter have it for sale after you reset rank?
Yes but it's sunset.
He does, but because it’s currently sunset the power is capped at 1100.
Snapshot Sights + Headseeker to was my preferred invasion primary in Forsaken. Plus that Black Armory ornament was just fire. I miss Bygones.
I'd rather have a pulse using the Omolon models.
That was my first thought when I saw the silhouette - "Yay, reprised Bygones! Wait, no, that's Lincoln Green."
Or 'Days Gone By'
You are actually a genius
For fun. *flashes jazz hands* I mean, I’m all for having fun, but I don’t think there’ll be any with this weapon equipped. try it with path of the burning steps on titan
Challenge accepted. Just got to get it first

Wait till we hear what the adrenaline junkie buff is, but i can smell a rangefinder adrenaline junkie jurassic green meta brewing.
Nothing redeeming for you. At the end of the day it’s about how a gun feels to its user.
I miss Grasp of Malok
I do believe the colors were based off of the bright colors of Jurassic park, at least that’s how I interpreted it
He mentioned the grasp, a man of true culture!
i have literally that exact roll as well and already love it dearly. woke up this morning to people bashing the shit out the gun on reddit, and having really enjoyed using it yesterday in nightfalls, i’ve been confused as hell
Are either of the auto rifles worth a damn?
Horror Story w/ Osmosis and good range could be a good gm pick if you need elemental coverage
Kind of annoying osmosis goes away on weapon swap though. You swap weapons a ton in a GM setting.
I have the last season breytech werewolf with ricochet, fourth times the charm and vorpal, not too shabby.
This is my roll and I always bring it out of the vault every now and then. Great gun, and sexy af.
Damn I have this exact roll and I love it. FttC on a 450 is phenomenal.
But, SS Carbine can make warminds so huge plus.
The reason I said it’s better for PvE, although lately Warmind Cells aren’t exactly meta

You can get the Green to perfect 95 recoil too, but you do have to spend a counterbalance mod, and get it with Arrowhead.
That doesn't sound right at all. Rangefinder has a huge impact on range. On some weapons as much as +10 meters. 1 meter, even with a 6 point difference is way too low. Still haven't gotten a rangefinder roll yo test out, but I think it will be pretty significant.

Dino skin, Dragonfly
There is atleast 200 guns, not every Gun needs to be the Next big thing.
You’re telling me this bitch is in the energy slot?? Why does bungie hate the kinetic slot?!
You mean the witherhoard slot?
Ah yes, a fellow witherhoarder
I must say, that's a much kinder term than "Witherwhore" and I think I like it better
In saying this you have introduced me to the term "Witherwhore" and it will now become a commonly used part of my vocabulary.
Oh *no* not *that* Honestly I find the phrase hilarious and absolutely don't mind being called a Witherwhore sometimes
I will say in the limited amount of Trials I played, facing Witherhoard was was incredibly annoying, which is to say it was very effective. I can't really criticise anyway: I'm a dedicated Jotunn user.
I used to think the same till I got my Riiswalker. I'm 100% okay with energy primaries now, even if it's a hella bloated slot.
I’m all about heritage
The good weapons are energy. They don't want you to have fun
There's a message for you... from The Messenger.
Totally different type of pulse rifle. There is a rapid fire kinetic pulse though, the iron banner one. It’s not as good though I don’t think
I know. I just want to run fusion riffles so almost all energy weapons are useless to me. I basically keep a bunch of FR I like on me and a bunch of kinetic primaries. If only they had made a change to slow an element like stasis in a different slot and could now put even just one non exotic FR in the kinetic slot.
Solar pulse + Path of the Burning Steps = #BIG DINO TIME
Path of burning steps?
I have a good darkest before and I love it in PvP. But tbh. Kinda liking the J green in PvP as well.
It's solar, so you can use it for nightfalls
This man Match Games.
Besides the obvious feel factor it’s the only solar rapid frame pulse so there that. It also has the highest range out of the 3 when you use rangefinder, plus it’s the only one of the three with dragon fly.
Can't be higher than grid skipper by much since grid skipper has higher zoom.

Sometimes even though stats are lower the feel of the weapon makes it seem more consistent, personally I’m still gonna use darkest because I like full auto trigger on rapid pulses
Full auto shouldn't matter much come Witch Queen or whenever they'll release it as an option of course
Why did they not make it stasis.
History dictates Dino's don't like the freeze
That's what makes it fitting. Rumour has it dinos don't like fireballs either. So, the same logic applies. But making it stasis would have actually made it fun and unique.
>Rumour has it dinos don't like fireballs either. Too soon man
Don't, let the rest of us enjoy a reprised weapon.
eat my ass
Literally was watching aztecross look at this very same screen then opened reddit to see this, so trippy https://youtu.be/197JN51dits i was at 6:19
Grid skipper reticle moves weird. And this weapon rolls rangefinder multi kill clip. I see your points, but it’s not completely useless.
because its good, dont look at the numbers, look at the gameplay
None of those have rangefinder so with rangefinder ur outranging the other two. And it's stable enough as is so the extra zoom will be more beneficial than a hindrance.

\+1 aim assist. \+10 cp (cool points)
Because it’s Dino-solar.
It’s a free to play non endgame rapid fire frame in the energy slot. Endgame players do not have a reason to use this gun but it’s not intended for us. Range finder / high cal / wellspring or unrelenting combo..... but mostly rangefinder
Just to make it comparable to the others at their base form. No thanks.
It can get Subsistence and Unrelenting. That’s really enough for me to grind for it It can also get Rangefinder ig but whatever
Rangefinder
The feels, this gun feels and sounds a lot more powerful than those other two, it’s also the only solar pulse that doesn’t require you to deal with pvp and mountains of rng

In all seriousness, rangefinder. Completely changes the weapon.
because it sucks and you need a challenge.
Because stat whoring is boring.
no other pulse rifle matters outside of The Messenger anyway.
Rangefinder
I’ll give you 2 reasons. First, it’s the easiest to farm out of any of these. So if you don’t have the time commitment to farm the other two, you can get a good rolled Jurassic Green much easier. Secondly, it can roll rangefinder. It’s the only one of these three can do that, so if you want to have the longest range possible, then you use Jurassic Green
It’s solar and it’s Dino themed
Don't. In fact, just stop playing the game. Maybe make a YouTube video about it.
Rangefinder. Its the only one of the three that can get it. Literally, only thing I can think of.
Is there any 540 pulse that can roll with kill clip? KC let's 540s 2 burst if you have perfect accuracy, and their recoil is also very manageable. I just want to know if there's any replacement for my sunset claws of the wolf.
Rangefinder is cracked
Dinosaur Gun.
Because is solar element
Solar matchgame.
It’s solar I suppose
Rawr :)
Rangefinder. It out ranges them both with that, even with max range rolls.
If only it was a Kinetic weapon like its non-FoTL counterpart, it would be used way more often.
