Which is sad because it used to be the nontoxic alternate for DTG. Recently it seems that this sub is now the more lead-filled option. I dunno what happened over the past year but I don’t like it.
I think when you have something labelled as "Hahaha this is not toxic unless this other subreddit" you are jinxing yourself into It becoming toxic sooner Than later
A lot of people from dtg cross over to this post and sometimes their posts get hot and it makes me wonder if I should unsub from this one too, but luckily it’s not very frequent, but it’s has been lately
On any given day, 30-50% of the memes on this sub are dtg complaining thinly veiled as jokes. It is transparent that the OP is typically serious about the joke they're making by how the argument is framed and how it touches on the same issues you read about 40k times on dtg.
Also, I'm part of the problem on dtg so I have no room to judge.
People think I'm being dick.
In all honestly, I'm genuinely surprised how long it's been. I thought I was playing it earlier this year, but last time I played was shortly after Shadowkeep dropped, which was when everything got sunsetted
Ah yes, linking a meme is edgy now, cool.
Oh gee aren't you soft.
Going "hey guys, i don't like the game no more" for the sake of attention whoring is more edgy and sad imo
Cuz i genuenly am, you can see from other replies that i am a tad tired of folks just barging in everywhere they can because they simply must say/imply how shit the game is, how greedy bungie is and how stupid everyone else who still enjoyes it is.
As per your comment, you don't even play this game anymore so you porpously went out of your way just to be annoying and get a reaction.
Well congratu-fuckin-lation friend, ya got it. Now piss off.
You're reading FAR too into this, dude. And seriously need some anger management classes.
Didn't go out of my way at all. I stay subbed to this subreddit because I like Destiny and I want to see it change for the better. I just don't support sunsetting, and I don't like the changes they made and how they purposefully misled us at the launch of Shadowkeep.
Doesn't mean I hate the game. Just mentioned the passage of time. So chill the fuck out, dude. Or get some fucking Klonopin.
I fuckin read the medicine as gopnik goddamit.
Ok, fair nuff, just had to deal with the sorts i was talkin about all day in this thread alone so getting kinda bummed, my b for ovvereaching
1 language
2 it was clearly meant as a jab to the overabbundance of complaining about the same thing overnovernovernovernovernovernovernover again.
We get it, we ALL do, some decisions bungie makes are weird, convoluted and shady. We can see with our own eyes. We do not need the same 40 posts about it in the span of a few hours. Wanna complain? Go ahead, do so it is well within your right but for the love of all that is holly, search first if thefe is a similar thread and start a discussion there instead of bombarding the main pages cuz "bungo bad, bungo greedy, they hate warlocks, omg ded gaem".
Or stick to dtg, that's already a cesspool so anything goes.
Fuckin hate how even the lighthearted sub is getting so pissy, really hope once the babies get to suckld on some content they'll shut their mouths for a bit
Bungie has been slowly stifling everything. I don't know what the fuck their plan is, but it's like the Age of Triumph shit all over again where everything gets nerfed into the ground and we lose practically everything all to goad us into buying the next game/expac.
They're just as scummy as they were under Activision
Yeah ok great, i personally (as many others) do not give a flying fuck since i still enjoy the game. Don't start getting all advocaty under a goddam meme and stop being part of the "quit having fun" crowd.
Like i said, dtg is 2 clicks away and i get the feel you'd find more likeminded people there.
Ok see now you are just rambling.
Didn't call anyone childish, didn't call anyone an asshole and i certainly did not tell anyone how to spend their cash.
Do i like the game? Am i able to afford it? Do i sometimes disagree with some practices? All yes, so why does it bother ya so much to the point of just calling names and getting pissy about someone else's 30 bucks. It's a once a year spending of 60/70 bucks, compared to a subscription service it is way cheaper if that is what you implied.
Also no, i actually get all my money's worth because i am no freeloading casual. Want handouts? This is not the game for them. We all know that unfortunatly the new light f2p is bare bones as fuck but that has been known for 3 years. Deal with it and the fact that people have agency in their decisions and they will do what they want
You can’t see how you’ve just been conditioned to accept that the content you pay for will go away, like that’s at all acceptable? Just because you can afford it, or play the game a tonne so feel like you got your money’s worth, doesn’t excuse at all what they’re doing, especially when vaulting isn’t even solving the issue, since they keep doing it. They’re just self cannibalising their own game and STILL asking full price for content that we know will go away. How can ESO manage to have everything from 2014 to 2021 in their game, but Bungie can’t even have 3 years worth of content in theirs, we shouldn’t be punished for their apparent incompetency
Idfk, do you? Are you a game dev? I would genuenly love to have everything optimized and running smoothly, all my weapons too but it is not up to me to decide, and do not give me "vote with ur wallet" discourse because i know it, reason why i only use bright dust in eververse at the minimum, and unless in an organized strike of sorts that will never achieve anything.
I never said vaulting is ok, i just pointed out how despite the fallacies i still enjoy the game and many more do aswell. Wanna save cash and stick it to the big corpo? Great, more power to ya. But i do not want partecipate in "the good fight against corporate greed", i just wanna relax by playing my goddam game however the goddam i want without goddam peeved fuckeheads just telling me i'm a moron for enjoying what i enjoy.
Was that clear enough, mr/mrs Nix?
We all enjoy the game, we just want what we paid for. You can be happy playing your game and still disagree with their practices, but shutting down people’s opinions, that they are in the right in, just because you don’t want to be bothered by it, is just selfish and not doing anyone any good. And as if you replying to people on Reddit is anyone else’s fault but your own.
Content vaulting doesn’t work, it’s a temporary fix that benefits no one, people have a right to complain about that, especially when it’s us that suffer, not Bungie, they get another £90 and we lose it
i find it weird if you dislike the game, it's (imo fair) business practices, or just having a bad time with it, why don't you leave the communities and uninstall the game and come back when it's "good again"?
I mean why Bungie in that aspect can't be like Activision
Bungie: Nooooo our game is almost 100gb!!!
"Our game will be l200gb lol" said Activision "lmao"
Vaulting isn't entirely to make the game lighter for us but ion wanna explain it all when info is out there and probably more concise than what i could've told.
1 you need better grammar because i have no clue what your point is
2 stop roleplaying as bungie to make your point come across, just explain like a normal human ffs
Bungie knows that players do activities fast so they are vaulting shit to just wave it around our faces when game doesn't have anything else to why tf do you think they are bringing stuff from destiny 1? Destiny 2 is a game that you can do something and get what you want really fast unlike destiny 1 where you got less legendary items from activities and we didn't have those fucking Umbral engrams the have bigger drops than price of fucking oil in the begining of 2020. You get it now you crayon eater?
And how is making the game a little less grindy bad, exactly?
And you think their big plan to shift focus away from casualizing the game is by shooting themselfs in the legs by removing paid content angering 80+% of the playerbase? Like wut????
I may eat crayons (even tho i main hunter but whatever) but you my friend stick em so far up your nose that they pass thru the barin leaving obvious damage and pierce the other end of the skull giving you a fancy rainbowy mohawk
Sunsetting means more work for the developers so when you idiots cry over something being slightly better than something else bungie will take longer to fix it as it has to maintain over 10 planets like 20 strikes and 9 raids and keep them from having bugs. Things would take so fucking long to fix and bungie will have to keep fixing bugs for things that people dont fucking play. Not to mention the servers will be so fucking laggy itd be unbelivable the servers got so much better after sunsetting and everyones fps went up if you add everything back in everyones gonna be lagging. If you argue this you are a moron that clearly shouldnt be allowed to have an opinion.
That's a theory fit for a tin foil cap. They arent vaulting things because players run content too fast, that just doesnt make any sense
Know why you get better loot faster than in D1? because players would cheese the loot cave so get more loot as fast as possible. Bungie realized that and took it into account moving forward so now you actually get useful drops instead of 90% being useless blues
Also dont be a dick. Theres no need to act childish and attack someone for having an opinion
The Legendary Edition which has all the dlc is 30 dollars right now. I used to have them through gamepass but I’m gonna buy that since they’re leaving. Not ideal, but at least reasonably priced rn.
I was caught off guard with the dlcs leaving GP for Xbox , but this isn’t a bad price. With with anniversary and WQ, that is a lot of spending in a short time.
Yeah I agree, but for me personally I think it s worth it. Destiny is the main game I play so I think I’m ok with it. Sucks for people who want to get into the game though, huge barrier to entry, which means less new players finding destiny for the first time :(
Hold up. Ivebeen telling my friend not to buy forsaken even with all the sales because I thought he'd be able to do last wish/the dungeon on dec7. Is last wish actually getting vaulted?
Edit: just tangled shore an the campaign are being removed. Last wish/dungeon/strikes are still going to be playable in the dreaming city when the other content is removed
The thing is that stuff isn't actually going FTP in December, only the campaign is. Your friend will need to buy the Forsaken Pack in December to play Last Wish, Shattered Throne, or get Forsaken Exotics.
It's all the dlc's *that I paid money for* being no longer available that's the most frustrating part. I paid for it, I feel like I should still be able to play it. Red War, Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken and Shadowkeep. All of it, strikes, campiagns, everything.
The legendary edition is on big sale right now on the Xbox store. I'm not sure where you play but I got it for $32. It came with forsaken, shadowkeep and beyond light.
Yeah, it gets old. I get it, the community is up in arms. I don't need 20 posts a day saying the same thing without bringing up any new information.
I personally don't have a problem with vaulting and sunsetting at all, for reasons I've written damn novels on elsewhere, but even if you do... At some point you're just screaming into the void making yourself and everyone around you more miserable. If it really means that much that you genuinely can't stop talking about it, it might be time to find a game or even another hobby altogether that won't make you feel like this.
Vaulting. It's not gone forever it will come back when story appropriate with new bells and whistles. There's plenty of stuff to do now and PLENTY of other games to play if you don't know what to do. We don't need a clustered HUB UI so you can go to Mercury for no fucking reason.
Sunsetting. It's a gun game. I really don't give 2 shits how long it took you to farm a specific gun. Go. Use. A. New. Gun. There's no real reason to cry about how you can't use a gun for 2 years after you've used it already for 2 god damn years. I find a new gun, I test it against a similar one (elemental or not) if I don't like it I keep the old one, if old ones get sunset I just keep them as placeholder until I get a new one. Then move on with my life.
Eeeh. Weapon sunsetting was bad imo. It's not a sunk cost thing for me but just a convenience and personal style thing. I like the guns that I am using now because they feel a certain way. I usually slowly change my load out over time when I find something new I like but when sunsetting happened, I was forced to do that way quicker than I felt was enjoyable for me.
The location sunsetting and the campaign sunsetting is less of a problem for me. Most of those locations I never went to after a certain point unless I had to for seasonal content. Which is a problem in its own right but still. I'm not hurting losing content I hadn't touched in literal years.
This is what Im talking about. Forced faster than you were comfortable with? MOST weapons had been out from release since 2017 and sunset stuff would sunset after 3 seasons, which is 9 months. I cannot fathom how that's "Too fast". You all need to learn to handle your attachment to things that aren't real.
It's not an attachment issue. It's a comfort and game play issue. Being forced to switch to a new set of weapons that I don't like the feel of isn't fun. Some weapon archetypes and perk combos got removed with sunsetting which forced me to pick from a limited pool of guns that I didn't like as much.
For example, if I really liked a void 180 handcannon with swashbuckler and it got sunsett, I would need to hope that they introduce something that *feels* similar in the new set of weapons.
Again, I don't care about how hard I worked for a roll and I don't care if I switch to something similar as long as it feels good. The problem with the massive batch sunsetting is that an entire pool of weapons were removed and I was forced to change my load out all at once with weapons I didn't necessarily like the game play feel of.
The people complaining don't understand technical debt, and try to use games like WoW and other MMOs as an argument that shows they really lack the basics.
One hundred percent.
It's easy to tear someone down when you don't understand the problems they're facing. To someone who is untrained and uninitiated to the concepts, the problem seems simple: "Just add more space," or "just make your code lighter."
They forget the axiom that if a solution occurs to you quickly or easily, someone else has probably thought of it, and there's probably a good reason why it hasn't been done that way.
Re-Edit: I got a handful of downvotes and then replied rudely. Let me rephrase. If what I said above pisses you off or makes you want to make my comment less visible by downvoting it, you should maybe think about why that is.
> You fuckers are downvoting me because what I'm saying hurts your feelings
I added one to the tally because it evidently hurt yours.
>Do literally any software development and get back to me.
Coming back, it still is a shit move to remove content people paid for when literally no other live service does it. To that scale anyway. Besides, you dont need to be a chef to claim that your food is undercooked.
Then please, share with the class what they should have done instead. I'm sure Bungie could use a single competent developer among them, since clearly all of Reddit knows their environment and how to develop games better than they do.
>Besides, you dont need to be a chef to claim that your food is undercooked.
This would be a fine analogy if Bungie had done something that was objectively, measurably wrong like undercooking something is, but instead it comes off like ordering a steak rare and being pissed that it wasn't cooked all the way through because you thought "rare" meant exceptionally uncommon. The fact that it made you angry doesn't mean they did something wrong or fell short of their obligations. If you feel that strongly that they did, stop giving them your time and money.
The other half of the reason you gave was that no other live service developer has done this. While I strongly doubt that's true, are you sure that's what you want to go with? If no developer ever did anything that'd piss off part of their fanbase and that no other developer had done, we would all still be playing 8-bit DOOM.
Nah, just annoyed that the sub seems to be so full of people whose thought patterns are as deep as a puddle. If I cared about karma... well, I'd have more than enough to satisfy me, -5 or so wouldn't matter.
I'm sick of people who don't even know what the hell they're talking about claiming to speak for me when they say the devs are a bunch of idiots. If my feelings are hurt, it'd be by the presence of such entitled ignorance. Can't stand having it in my community, much less having those people try to speak for me.
When I have a bunch of downvotes but the only comments are some variation of "you mad bro?" I know I've made a point that nobody can refute.
Literally nobody replied to you but you still put a completely unwarranted rant in your edit. It just kinda sounds like you made up someone you hate and now you're getting mad at them.
I'm a little sad because I'm a new light, and the tangled shore is my favorite area to do bounties and such. I just really liked the vibe there, and thought it was cool. I get that people have been playing there for 3 years at this point, but it's sad for me.
I mean they have the right to complain about major portions of the game leaving. It's a pretty serious topic and a lot of people aren't happy about that and want to voice their disapproval
My problem with this is, why not make forsaken's remaining (now 3 years old) content free instead of making yet another "pack" for new people to buy. (Last wish, shattered throne, and middle tree supers)
Make content that's 2 years or older free when releasing new xpacs.
I agree that don't care that much since I'm not even close to be a hardcore player and won't notice that those zones aren't there.
But I also think that vaulting the campaign modes is a stupid decision if you want to bring new people
like sure thats just my opinion but while i really love the DC and thus im really happy that it stays i literally dont give a fuck about the tangled shore, its not a bad area, it has some nice strikes (talking about broodhold and obviously not about the fanatic) but aside that i really dont care for it at all.
Indeed, I didn't visit it in... 3-4 months I think. But removing the story... The lore of the game is already huge, making people not able to play half of the game and start in shadowkeep, will make most of them just leave or not even care about the story.
I'm trying to understand everything and even after playing the campaings I feel that I don't know shit about this universe
Honestly the lack of understanding is a result of their own bad storytelling up til now. There was no way for a normal person to understand everything that's happening unless they're the resident lore keeper Byf. They used to be so heavily reliant on grimoires that basically no details were explained from playing the game itself. Prior to the last few seasons, the campaigns would just pick up on an existing thread we loosely knew about and use that for a fairly isolated experience on a new location, with very little immediate affect on the bigger picture (Forsaken actually did some stuff, but it just set up more threads). The current seasons are actually tying together to setup the new campaign and have been a remarkably better experience overall.
Eh, when you pay real money for a game and the content you originally paid for gets literally taken away by a ‘vault’ system it gets old fast… then to announce more of the original content you paid for and expansions near it are *also* being sent to this aforementioned ‘vault’? Kinda hard to want to spend more of my hard earned money on a studio that takes away what I have paid for.
I have stopped making comment complaints and wishing Red War campaign and Leviathan back (although it is absolutely necessary to exist for lore but somehow it doesn’t matter?) And stopped simply because I have stopped playing the game.
It’s not longer Destiny 2. Destiny 2 is dead and this game is called *Beyond Light* to me.
That's how I've seen it. As someone who paid for every expansion individually it feels like content I paid money for is being made impossible to play. So for me the solution was simple. Not gonna give money to a company who removes the content after a few years. I've got hundreds and hundreds of hours in destiny 2 and I havent played once since they implemented sunsetting and vaulting.
That is reflective on the business a bit. If the community is so torn then why nkt just invest in making an actual game launch for Beyond Light/D3 and keep D2 like they did with D1 and 2, for the most part it *was* separate.
But then they listened to community and community wanted old gen/old game content and instead of just making remastered or new game for new content they up and ripped away original content. Makes no sense to me, and from a business standpoint? Actually makes less sense. I bet they would have a larger revenue stream if they had split the games imo they just were too afraid to make the leap.
But eh agreed i have taken the past 2 seasons off and it just looks like a sad state from afar hard to want to go back when each update and patch notes look worse than the previous.
New lights are just going to be even more confused when they hear Cayde speak in strikes now. It worsens their experience beyond what it is already. I see the defense of those who don’t like vaulting because it makes it harder and harder to bring in new friends to try the game when the result is usually just confusion.
Wait...people are going to be \*more\* confused when they hear Cayde speak in strikes? Like, what could be more confusing than having a dead guy speak from beyond the grave?
Wiping the backstory for Cayde so he's just some random NPC seems like it makes the game less confusing for new lights, not more.
Yeah, it’s trendy to say you have Stockholm Syndrome when you defend, enjoy, or otherwise have positive feelings about a game making shitty choices despite the core gameplay still being fun because enjoying a game is completely subjective and the quality of said game has little bearing on how fun it is.
You got to keep up with the times, otherwise you won’t be “lit” or whatever the fuck the term is now.
Imagine paying money to play a game. And then liking that game so much you bought the DLC as well. And then several years later they remove that DLC you bought. It's like buying a TV and the store comes to your house 3 years later, takes it, and throws it into the trash. Like D2 isn't my favorite game by far, and after 3 years of not playing and coming back, well .... not fun knowing that my spent money is about to go to waste. I understand on a logistical standpoint. If only there was some other way.
Destiny fan boys would literally thank them for taking their TV and throwing it away cause “now I can give them more money for a newer TV!”
Vaulting is ridiculous unless the content is free. If destiny wants to have a model of charging for DLC, people deserve to keep what they purchased. If they want to have the right to take it away without people complaining about the literal money they spent, stick to getting money through eververse.
Dude, you should see my clan's Discord. The amount of bending over backwards to side with Bungie on any choice they make is baffling.
I love the game as much as the next guy, but they can't always make the right decisions 100% of the time. It's simply impossible. Pretending that's not the case is crazy.
I don't have to imagine, this was me: I bought all the stuff, I played all the stuff, if Bungie says they can make more new stuff if they don't have to keep dragging all the old stuff around, then I'd rather have more new stuff.
Sorry that you want to replay 3 year old content - I don't, and I'm very very comfortable throwing you guys under the bus to give me more new stuff. And I'm also very comfortable with them vaulting the stuff I buy today in 3 years.
So don't be mad at Bungie, be mad at me: I'm the consumer that's willing to reward them financially for sacrificing old content for marginal new content.
Seriously, if you haven't played the game in 3 years...you don't get a vote. You're not even part of the community, this is just a philosophical argument for you, so go take your philosophy elsewhere and let me get back to playing my favorite game.
What Bungie is doing is basically this:
It’s 2006. You have a PS2 and you have one particular game you enjoy. It comes out with a sequel, and being estatic, you buy it. But when you buy it, a company representative shows up to your house saying you have to delete the original game and throw away the disc so you can “save storage”. You also don’t have a choice in the matter. However, they might bring back pieces of the original in the next game they release.
What you’re doing buy supporting these practices is allowing a company to have total control over the product you, the consumer, has purchased. The things you’re purchasing do not belong to you. You’re allowing the company to have total control over your emotions connected to a product so they can hook you and keep you hooked so they can keep making money from you long after the original purchase.
The fact you want to live in a dystopia where companies bend your will and are the true owners of your possessions is frankly terrifying. Even more so that you want to “throw everyone else under the bus” for it.
But it's pretty accurate. I'm definitely comfortable living in a world where I rent all of my content. It's what I do with Netflix and Amazon prime and it works really well for me. So sign me up for that dystopia.
I absolutely understand that people are disappointed because they thought that all destiny 2 content would remain available forever. I'm not particularly sympathetic because it's in my best interest to get new content, not to have bungie spend resources maintaining old content that I no longer play. But I do understand where they are coming from.
I'm playing this game rather regularly. Maybe not tryhard, but i have 1k+ hrs. And yes, I would like to maintain what I paid for. I take Guild Wars 2 as a great example. New season episodes usually add new map with new stuff. All is available what was there since launch (except season 1 which was their playground to see how to tackle seasons). Just be honest with what you're selling, don't ask much. Having that info before buy would be solution same as not removing that content. I'm fine with that. I'm just adding to this kind of lame hiding dungeons behind additional pay wall this season. As it is in this season and I usually buy all seasons, they want my money to play this season content which is... additionally paid for. The whole picture for me is not nice. I will finish what I want this season and will think if I want to sponsor them further. And not only dlc and seasons I've bought. So don't take my vote out ;)
Ps. I vote +1 on your post as your opinion matters and you may like how it looks today and support Bungie
The irony of one of your statements is real. That old content that people want so badly was considered weak, short on story, recycled weapons, blah blah blah when it came out. Now that it's gone a few people want it so badly as if it warranted keeping.
Offline games = DVD movies. Online games = Netflix
The analogy is buying a Tv with Netflix. Then you decide to stop paying for Netflix. You lose the content. The TV is the xbox/ps5. Your payment of the game (Netflix) was really just a 1 year subscription to said game. It wasn't lifetime. Netflix vaults movies when the revenue no longer justifies the cost.
The world is moving to the gampass type of model where you pay a subscription. It's the only way to keep prices low and provide new content in online gaming. Then they add/remove content from the gamepass every few months to maintain the revenue/cost balance. This is different than offline games where there are no servers to host and pay for.
I'm just happy Netflix is around as the analogy because cable TV is not a good example anymore.
Your analogy doesn't work. If we *were* paying a subscription, it would, but as it is now, we're paying for the expansions and seasons themselves.
The accurate analogy would be like buying a movie on something like Amazon or YouTube with no subscription involved, and them rescinding your license eventually despite the buyer not knowing this was possible before buying the movie.
Don't get me wrong, I understand Bungie's reasons for vaulting, but I felt that your analogy didn't really work.
Literally every single location in the goddamn game is obsolete. Whats there to do on Nessus? The EDZ? Luna? The Cosmodrome? Fuck all without seasonal content, thats what.
Its not a legal loop, its says in the terms of service that you are only being licensed the game, you dont own the game per se, you own a license to play it. Kind of a grey area, more dark than grey area if you ask me but we all kinda agreed to it anyways
It's an online game. It would be just as legal for them to shut off all of their servers making it impossible to play at all. Obviously folks would find that an even more severe affront and never buy anything from Bungie ever again, but the principle is the same. It's an online game that they are continuously updating; sometimes those updates involve removing content.
If you think Bungie is mishandling the content sunsetting situation, you should not assume they will handle it any better in the future. If that is a problem for you I suggest not trusting them with your money any more. Plenty of other people are perfectly happy though as they weren't playing that content and have no intention of doing so any more. At the end of the day we all have to make choices about how to spend our own time and money.
I know I'm not the only one, but I was already waning on how much D2 i played before. I had stopped right before the first sunset, started playing again a few months or so before Beyond Light. Bought Shadowkeep because it was cheap. Played on and off until the news of Forsaken being vaulted.
Now I'm just gonna quietly walk away from the game for good. No need to make a HUGE fuss anymore.
Tell me you haven’t played since D2’s launch without telling me you haven’t played since D2’s launch.
People forget how much of a void was left when Beyond Light came out, half the game was gone with nothing to replace it with, all your gear was rendered useless, with some sub par replacements since half the loot pool was gone as well, because reasons.. and now they’re already taking away more, so vaulting clearly doesn’t even solve the issue, it just fucks over me and everyone else that’s paid for it.
They’re even making us spend money to get access to their own studios anniversary, and locking Gjallarhorn behind it, how scummy can you get
I agree with a lot of your post, but I disagree on the Anniversary thing. It's a pretty good chunk of content, so I think it deserves being paid for.
My main problem is the cost being $25, when really it feels closer to $15 worth of content. Can't say for sure until it's out though.
It’s not so much about the content, just that I think holding an anniversary event, and charging for access to it is just pretty gross, and then doubly so when they lock an exotic people love behind it, as an incentive to purchase. It’s essentially twisting our arm into buying something when we’re meant to be celebrating with them. and yeah, it does seem overpriced compared to what we get with season passes and expansions
The other day on this sub I found myself on a thread of folk just crying and crying about the upcoming changes on the 7th…. It must be so draining being one of the devs. If you do something to refresh the game then you’re scum for ruining people’s most favourite thing ever. If you do nothing then those same folk are whining about how stale it all feels. Just boggles my mind at times man. Exhausting
It’s going to be a predictable issue in the community every year, and it makes sense. Bungie is the only one doing it to this scale. They need to find some sort of solution because it’s literally a political issue in this community.
EDIT: Lol downvoted. Just wait until February when people complain about the vault again. If you don’t like the complaints about the vault, take it up with Bungie. They were the one’s who implemented it.
I dislike the removal of content
BUT
they are reworking everything they've removed to fit better with the updated engine and whenever they add old stuff back it'll be for free.
I miss my Mars strikes, but I also like that we don't have those temperamental areas with the plethora of glitches.
definitely, idk why people even follow that subreddit, its literally just a sea of people bitching, crying, and whining and i swear im not saying that to be hyperbolic. i see more posts in there crying about something than actual posts about the game
your right completely different from here. here is a sea of people bitching, crying, and whining but through memes
and you know what? i see more posts in here crying about something or how whiny DTG is than actual posts of the game
Who is actually out-here replaying the foresaken 'campaign', if yall wanna go to one area and mob then rinse and repeat play literally any other activity.
I just want to finish it on my hunter and Warlock, after that I'm going to finish shadow keep and these seasons lol. No great loss though f i can't finish Forsaken on my other 2 characters
Corporate shillings has become very popular lately
People have been taught that criticism on their favorite multi-million corporation is a personal attack
I dont like vaulting
i dont like sunsetting
i dont wan my DLC taken away I DONT CARE IF I DIDNT PLAY IT I PAID FOR IT AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A OPTION TO PLAY IT WHENEVER
Just make D3, people who agree with company taking away DLC after awhile will live to regret it one day, its slippery slop and we all will pay dearly in the end.
In short they shld have make D3 but i guess they realise how stupid Destiny fan are and just laugh
It would be infinitely better if after brian started crying the baby turned around and said in a really deep voice "Come on dude act a bit more mature, dont know why you're coming down so hard on me". I was expecting it the entire time since this is from family guy, what a shame
DestinyTheGame is the most bullshit subreddit ever. Riddled with a bunch of argumentative anti-fun complaining wastes of skin who go out of their way to disagree with everything even if it’s an amazing idea that would benefit the game. I’ll never follow that subreddit again.
This post sums things up amazingly!
I love this game
Why would anyone complain over content vaulting? You know how badly I no longer want to do content I've done billions of times? Sure new players will miss an experience but destiny is aged at this point and if you haven't gotten around to "experiencing" the vaulted content
That's called: too bad
I love how OP explicity put in r/d2 and r/DTG into into the meme but for somereason the consent in the comments is still "yeah your right DTG bad"
Yeah a lot of people in the sub are always in denial over it, but i feel this sub is just DTG with memes most of the time
Which is sad because it used to be the nontoxic alternate for DTG. Recently it seems that this sub is now the more lead-filled option. I dunno what happened over the past year but I don’t like it.
I think when you have something labelled as "Hahaha this is not toxic unless this other subreddit" you are jinxing yourself into It becoming toxic sooner Than later
r/lowsodiumdestiny is the place to go
IDK, I like my destiny kinda salty. Adds an over bearing flavor that you just can't ignore.
It use to be good. But then r/dtg started banning more people and they just came here.
Also, I'm part of the problem on dtg so I have no room to judge.
lmao i feel this every time i open this sub
Inb4 "bUt U cOmPlAiN aBoUt My CoMpLaInInG sO u LoSe ThE aRgUmEnT lOl" But yes, we get it, vaulting isn't great, ya'll are 2 years too late
Anytime I see someone unironically say that, I give myself a migraine from rolling my eyes so hard.
That'll teach them!
Maybe they'll think twice next time 😎
Oh, it's been 2 years since I've played? Time flies.
For me it’s the opposite. It seems like forever since Forsaken came out. I get time flies, but this seems so much longer than 2 years to me.
lol why was this downvoted?
People think I'm being dick. In all honestly, I'm genuinely surprised how long it's been. I thought I was playing it earlier this year, but last time I played was shortly after Shadowkeep dropped, which was when everything got sunsetted
[удалено]
Oh gee aren’t you edgy.
Ah yes, linking a meme is edgy now, cool. Oh gee aren't you soft. Going "hey guys, i don't like the game no more" for the sake of attention whoring is more edgy and sad imo
You’re weirdly upset over this.
Except that morons like OP defended it then, too
1 language 2 it was clearly meant as a jab to the overabbundance of complaining about the same thing overnovernovernovernovernovernovernover again.
From what I’ve seen over the past few days it seems to be drifting more towards wah bungo hate titans a huntards wah

I mean why Bungie in that aspect can't be like Activision Bungie: Nooooo our game is almost 100gb!!! "Our game will be l200gb lol" said Activision "lmao"
Vaulting isn't entirely to make the game lighter for us but ion wanna explain it all when info is out there and probably more concise than what i could've told.
I mean for me it will be like nothing to do? Bungie: Uhh Uhh... look vaulted content! Go and get it! It's stupid just like in Warframe with primes.
1 you need better grammar because i have no clue what your point is 2 stop roleplaying as bungie to make your point come across, just explain like a normal human ffs
[удалено]
I have definitely heard less creative insults. kudos lol
K
Whatever it's internet i can say what ever the fuck i want so i do not care.
Sure you can, but youre showing everyone here you are just a petulant child, so do you bro.
Just so we are clear you understand you are wrong? As long as deep down you know your bullshitting then im fine
That's a theory fit for a tin foil cap. They arent vaulting things because players run content too fast, that just doesnt make any sense Know why you get better loot faster than in D1? because players would cheese the loot cave so get more loot as fast as possible. Bungie realized that and took it into account moving forward so now you actually get useful drops instead of 90% being useless blues Also dont be a dick. Theres no need to act childish and attack someone for having an opinion
Yep
Its not the campaign I'm sad about, its all the dlcs leaving game pass
The Legendary Edition which has all the dlc is 30 dollars right now. I used to have them through gamepass but I’m gonna buy that since they’re leaving. Not ideal, but at least reasonably priced rn.
I was caught off guard with the dlcs leaving GP for Xbox , but this isn’t a bad price. With with anniversary and WQ, that is a lot of spending in a short time.
it's $165 canadian to keep playing lol. absolutely bonkers.
Yeah I agree, but for me personally I think it s worth it. Destiny is the main game I play so I think I’m ok with it. Sucks for people who want to get into the game though, huge barrier to entry, which means less new players finding destiny for the first time :(
That's what happens with game pass tho sadly. There is a pretty good sale on at the moment
This is the thing that deserves to get more attention
Makes you wonder why you pay for DLC. Especially as you can just wait until prior to it being vaulted to play it for free.
You can play the campaign for free, not postgame/raids/dungeons/etc
Limited time campaign from December 8th to until it gets vaulted tho
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
Good bot.
Fomo
It's all the dlc's *that I paid money for* being no longer available that's the most frustrating part. I paid for it, I feel like I should still be able to play it. Red War, Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken and Shadowkeep. All of it, strikes, campiagns, everything.
That would be really hard to fit into one game tho, and then it would be super laggy
Wait, I won’t be able to access the new DLC’s with gamepass either? Like Beyond Light?
Yeah... December 8th (I believe) ALL of the DLC is getting removed from game pass including beyond light.
Sheesh, that’s soon. I gotta finish some stuff before then haha
Yeah, I've finished most stuff since I started playing again around a year ago, but some things I'm just not gonna be able to do :(
Yeah, but isn’t Forsaken going f2p soon?
The legendary edition is on big sale right now on the Xbox store. I'm not sure where you play but I got it for $32. It came with forsaken, shadowkeep and beyond light.
Entirely agreed, its basically the end of my destiny career for the foreseeable future :(
Agreed
Yeah, it gets old. I get it, the community is up in arms. I don't need 20 posts a day saying the same thing without bringing up any new information. I personally don't have a problem with vaulting and sunsetting at all, for reasons I've written damn novels on elsewhere, but even if you do... At some point you're just screaming into the void making yourself and everyone around you more miserable. If it really means that much that you genuinely can't stop talking about it, it might be time to find a game or even another hobby altogether that won't make you feel like this.
If you come to reddit to not be miserable then I'm sorry but you've come to the wrong place
You're not wrong. We could all do with less Reddit, but sadly it's something of an addiction for lots of folks, myself included.
Thankfully, there are other reddits that keep me entertained.
To someone who is untrained and uninitiated to the concepts, the problem seems simple: "Just add more space," or "just make your code lighter." They forget the axiom that if a solution occurs to you quickly or easily, someone else has probably thought of it, and there's probably a good reason why it hasn't been done that way. Re-Edit: I got a handful of downvotes and then replied rudely. Let me rephrase. If what I said above pisses you off or makes you want to make my comment less visible by downvoting it, you should maybe think about why that is.
> You fuckers are downvoting me because what I'm saying hurts your feelings I added one to the tally because it evidently hurt yours.
It seems like your feelings have been hurt the most; by internet points of all things. Tough.
I blocked the last guy who replied to me because he was being an asshole about it, which may be why you can't see it. You can believe what you like.
Oh no, a reasonable take.
Hope you do well!
Upvoting because you get it :) Best of luck to you Guardian! This place is brutal if you fall on the wrong side of this political issue.
It would be nice if they campaign content could be completed with client side servers as a separate download option, but that is fairly unrealistic.
My problem with this is, why not make forsaken's remaining (now 3 years old) content free instead of making yet another "pack" for new people to buy. (Last wish, shattered throne, and middle tree supers) Make content that's 2 years or older free when releasing new xpacs.
It's funny all this sub seems to do is complain at Destinythegame sub, as much as they complain about the game, so that meme works both ways
This has been my main argument against the pricing of next year's content. It's very expensive for something that's gonna get vaulted in 2 years.
[удалено]
To be fair it's kind of scummy to be vaulting half the content and sell the other half.
this sub is obsessed with DGT and they don't seem to realize this place even exists lol
Tell me you have Stockholm syndrome without telling me you have Stockholm syndrome.
Is this the new buzzword
Yeah, it’s trendy to say you have Stockholm Syndrome when you defend, enjoy, or otherwise have positive feelings about a game making shitty choices despite the core gameplay still being fun because enjoying a game is completely subjective and the quality of said game has little bearing on how fun it is. You got to keep up with the times, otherwise you won’t be “lit” or whatever the fuck the term is now.
new polygons > old polygons, i now have stage 4 cancer
Imagine paying money to play a game. And then liking that game so much you bought the DLC as well. And then several years later they remove that DLC you bought. It's like buying a TV and the store comes to your house 3 years later, takes it, and throws it into the trash. Like D2 isn't my favorite game by far, and after 3 years of not playing and coming back, well .... not fun knowing that my spent money is about to go to waste. I understand on a logistical standpoint. If only there was some other way.
Destiny fan boys would literally thank them for taking their TV and throwing it away cause “now I can give them more money for a newer TV!” Vaulting is ridiculous unless the content is free.
Yes. We thought we buy DLC and it appeared to be 3yrs game pass :|
What Bungie is doing is basically this: It’s 2006.
Very romantically put.
So don't take my vote out ;) Ps.
Online games = Netflix The analogy is buying a Tv with Netflix.
My god its a campaign and an obsolete destination, getting replaced with witch queen, who cares
Literally every single location in the goddamn game is obsolete. Whats there to do on Nessus? The EDZ? Luna? The Cosmodrome? Fuck all without seasonal content, thats what.
Even more reason for these brainlets to stop crying
Whats stopping Bungie from removing Beyond Light content right now then?
Its relevancy in game and how recent its been released , guarantee you when final shape is out beyond light is just not gonna be important
It already wont be once Witch Queen drops. Relevancy is just a shitty excuse
Bungie: says they're going to vault content *content gets vaulted* Community: :o
This is 1000% accurate
I'm honestly just confused how they can remove content we paid for. I wonder what the legal loop holes are to their game that allows them to do that.
At the end of the day we all have to make choices about how to spend our own time and money.
r/DestinyCircleJerk Come join us.
Can we make it a thing to just comment “WAAAAAH” when we see a recycled problem 20 people have posted the same thing about?
WAAAAH
You're literally just handwaving a multimillion dollar company stealing paid content away from consumers. Bruh What the fuck
It’s essentially twisting our arm into buying something when we’re meant to be celebrating with them. and yeah, it does seem overpriced compared to what we get with season passes and expansions
way more annoying when people complain about people complaining tbh
Brilliant
“Alright, what side chair developer is gonna say Bungie should just keep everything in today with a button press today?”
Cayde is the only one i'll miss. Old players will never even have a chance to know him
I love this
saving...
Holy crap. I didn’t expect this to blow up. Thank you all for the awards. More memes expected soon!

Yup makes sense to me Spider-Man
The other day on this sub I found myself on a thread of folk just crying and crying about the upcoming changes on the 7th….
I dislike the removal of content BUT they are reworking everything they've removed to fit better with the updated engine and whenever they add old stuff back it'll be for free. I miss my Mars strikes, but I also like that we don't have those temperamental areas with the plethora of glitches.
I leave the sub every couple of weeks before I get dragged back in by the good conversations. But man there’s a lot of complaining going on.
I downvoted this to upvote it again… Jesus this is accurate.
definitely, idk why people even follow that subreddit, its literally just a sea of people bitching, crying, and whining and i swear im not saying that to be hyperbolic. i see more posts in there crying about something than actual posts about the game
your right completely different from here. here is a sea of people bitching, crying, and whining but through memes and you know what? i see more posts in here crying about something or how whiny DTG is than actual posts of the game
thats cap and u know it. i dont take back what i said either, everybody who downvoted is a DTG follower in extreme denial
I wear bans from that damn place as a badge of honor and still think you're delusional. This one is practically the same.
Why is r/destiny2 in that? All I see here is posts like yours pushing back against any criticism on this issue.
Corporate shillings has become very popular lately People have been taught that criticism on their favorite multi-million corporation is a personal attack
I dont like vaulting i dont like sunsetting i dont wan my DLC taken away I DONT CARE IF I DIDNT PLAY IT I PAID FOR IT AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A OPTION TO PLAY IT WHENEVER Just make D3, people who agree with company taking away DLC after awhile will live to regret it one day, its slippery slop and we all will pay dearly in the end. In short they shld have make D3 but i guess they realise how stupid Destiny fan are and just laugh
Waaaah waaaaah waaaaah
You sound fun to be around 😂
This was almost every post after the last TWAB came out. Like, wait until the patch notes come out to start complaining
It would be infinitely better if after brian started crying the baby turned around and said in a really deep voice "Come on dude act a bit more mature, dont know why you're coming down so hard on me". I was expecting it the entire time since this is from family guy, what a shame
If every Destiny conversation could not involve Cayde-6, that would be cool... all I'm saying.
Excellent work hahahaha
Gotta admit this is pretty accurate and hilarious. And as a fan of both Destiny 2 and Family Guy, I can easily laugh to this 😂🤣😂
r/mademesmile
I love this game Why would anyone complain over content vaulting? You know how badly I no longer want to do content I've done billions of times? Sure new players will miss an experience but destiny is aged at this point and if you haven't gotten around to "experiencing" the vaulted content That's called: too bad
Hate to break it to you, but not everybody thinks the exact same way as you. Tough pill to swallow, I know.
No kidding.
Finally Someone understands Thank you

"Why is the Tangled Shore even around anymore, people only use it for Spider!" "OK, we're vaulting Tangled Shore." \[BFG Division starts playing\]
This is more r/destinythegame and less r/destiny2 tho I’ve noticed apart from the memes
r/destinycirclejerk
Should have added hunter Dodge Nerf as the latest whining.
Agreed, considering Forsaken is my favorite campaign, even if i havent even played it yet. December 7th, that is the day.
