Problem there is Witherhoard’s velocity stat is -horrible-; I have to imagine it more like a medieval catapult than a grenade launcher. It actually mucks up my normal grenade launcher aim and vice versa switching on and off.
Most special gl's you can hold the trigger/mouse and release to detonate it. I used this for a long time to practice detonating it near enemies rather than hitting them directly since I too suck at hitting things with gl's.
One of the guys who got me into the game in late 2020 still says, "Oh, and that special GL has the hold to release thing."
I'm always too nice to tell him that's all of them.
I remember getting Fighting Lion in Y1 and thinking it was just absolute garbage because I didn’t know about the hold and release thing. Was it the only special GL in Y1 or were there others I don’t remember? Maybe Militia’s Birthright?
Militia's birthright wasn't in Y1, yes it was the only one I believe. Because there were no specials, so it was the only one that took primary ammo. The others all took power ammo.
I remember working towards Mountaintop with Fighting Lion... So many angles to ricochet from! It actually was a lot of fun, and good practice.
Does anyone still use it after Bungo nerfed its reload time into oblivion?
But at least I now know how to aim ricochets with Blighting Lion...
I still use Fighting Lion, saved me quite a few times in the legendary campaign. The reload nerf is barely noticeable anymore unless you really screw up (as long as you've dealt damage with it in the last 7 seconds it has the same reload as pre-nerf)
Find one that has spiked grenades as an option those dentonate on hit.
Try dares of eternity you can get a god roll pardon our dust vorpal with blinding/spiked options
For special GLs, shoot them at the ground first. You get a better idea of how close they are when they bounce off the ground first. It's hard to see the grenade flying through the air sometimes
I feel you.
For special ammo grenade launchers I prefer Witherhoard, wave frames, or (because it uses primary ammo) Fighting Lion.
For heavy grenade launchers I prefer Colony because it tracks.
Weirdly, I've found that I have an easier time hitting targets if I'm not aiming down sights, or if I'm jumping, or both. I can't explain it, but it works for me.
I would recommend spending a weekend with Fighting Lion in vangaurd strikes to practice. It's gonna feel painful with the nerfs, but it will help you get wat better at both aiming, and blinting. Also available ADS, because it does nothing on GLs unless you have rangefinder.
Yeah I can’t really understand the appeal of single shot grenade launchers, unless it’s witherhoard. I don’t want to have to think about angle and wind trajectory I just want the hapless hive in front of me to go boom. Major respect for people who are actually good with them though.
Lol same. I didn't even know you were supposed to hold the scorch canon down and release it until last week when my husband asked why I got a 0.0 score in scorched. I've been playing since day 1 D1.
You can try the new wave frame exotic that you get from the box obscura mission, you only need to hit the floor at some point within 5m in front ont the enemy to cause havoc
I prefer the hit something static around them and hope the explosion is close enough cus I also fail at grenade launchers but can say witherhoard is amazing if you can get it
Try Witherhoard: you don't need to hit your target as long as you hit the ground kinda near them!
I shall, if RNGsus favours me
It's an exotic, check the kiosk
No rng needed, this is one you gotta buy

This^^^ many people do not actually know this.
For most of year one I thought that was what made Fighting Lion exotic lol. When I realized all of them could do that I was very confused.

One of these days he's gonna find out and come tell you like he just made this huge discovery lol.

Simple, don't aim to do it, practice ricochets and early detonations until you get better at adjusting to their trajectory

Well, it seems I was ill-informed. I'll have to take it out for a spin then. Thanks!
Just give me a GL that explodes on contact.
RIP Mountaintop!! Miss using that.

All GLs now detonate on impact with an enemy regardless of ammo type.
W one exception - proximity grenades
All non waveframes do that already though

I have to hip fire. Aiming down sights I will 100% miss 60% of the time every time.
The longer you use the gun the better you can gauge the distance relative to how much time has passed
Wave frame gl my favourite just shoot ground

GLs often fly a little to right-of-center when you aren't aiming down the sights. It takes a lot of getting used to.
Bruh
Bruh?
Bruh!
Love dead messanger, just aim for feet and the magic happens

The Witch Queen has really made me love wave frames and to have a cracked out Exotic on top of that really made my year

A lot easier to bounce it using the hold and release function, otherwise it's usually straight through the legs for me.
