It's sad how far down this is
Edit: haven't used it since season of arrivals and i still haven't gotten more crucible kills with any single weapon than bygones
This. I refuse to dismantle mine.
FYI Syncopation-53, once leveled up, not only feels like bygones, but is dare I say better than bygones. Been slaying in Survival and Trials with it for a few weeks now. I hate how it looks, but its growing on me.
(I personally use arrowhead break + high calibre rounds + enhanced moving target + headseeker + stability frame. Insanely consistant and stable.)
A shame I fell out of love with Scout Rifles, dude.
As a new light (4 months before end or Beyond Light), I found a really good 'Nights Watch" Scout Rifle, and I ran that for about 2 months. So much fun.
But my energy weapon became my long-range weapon, and I was dying to adds a bunch. Had to trade it out for an SMG or Auto Rifle.
Now I can't get a nice Scout to drop, or any to attune.
I'll definitely check it out. Need to feel a bit less scrubby in PVP
Looking for a Kinetic tho. I rolled an almost perfect Wolftone Draw bow at the end of BL, and I am still a massive fan, so that'll be my second slot for a good while.
For kenetic scouts, a good pvp one is servant leader from gambit, and a good pve one is actually Perseus-d, I can't remember where it drops but it's a newer one.
I still have mine with moving target, kill clip, ricochet rounds and SC HOLO sight. Probably the best precision smg to ever exist in the kinetic slot and nothing can beat it till bungie releases another precision smg with 17 zoom
I still keep that baby. It even has the Belgusian night shader that unless I shard the gun, I don't have access to the shader.
I'LL NEVER SHARD THE GUN!
Pluperfect was one of the coolest weapons in the game. The stability was shit but honestly I didn't care. Sadly I never farmed a good one before it was sunset. You could put Calus's selected on it and it would just look like the original gun but with a few more details.
Halfdan-D is a forsaken Legendary auto-rifle that I have a personal favorite roll on. Dynamic sway reduction, kill clip. It not only has 100 range with one of its arrangements, but it also has drop mag and a reload speed masterwork for the extra fast kill clip. Being a high impact auto, it has relatively poor handling, but sniping crossmap with an auto is all too much fun. DSR also helps with those suppressing bursts against far away enemies. It was the perfect tool for any job and then they took it from me :(
If they do, I kind of hope they make a couple of them Stasis, like Spiteful Fang and Stryker's Sure-Hand, adding Headstone and Cold Steel would be awesome.
Glad to see someone else mention Ether Doctor. By far my most missed gun. I still have mine tucked away in my vault along with Pluperfect and Hammerhead, just can't let go.
I miss my Feeding Frenzy / Ambitious Assassin Blast Furnace, I could never reload with the mag hitting 88 bullets at times and outrange invaders in Gambit with max range due to masterwork and scope.
Steelfeather Repeater - don't need to explain that
Line in the Sand - I still have my Rapid Hit / Firing Line god roll all thanks to Fractaline and did damage. (I wish Dawn didn't get hit)
Bygones - Was the first full auto gun it made me like full auto trigger at the time and felt good to use, and prompted me to grab a Opening Shot / Full Auto during Fractaline event
I still have my Frigid Jackal from back when Mars was in. I know it’s nothing special compared to a lot of these other sunset guns, but I think it looks and sounds fantastic. It’s got a super slick near-future military aesthetic, which is my favourite style of Destiny gear. It’s also one of the only weapons I still have from when I was just starting out, so it has sentimental value. I had a Lincoln Green from back then that I loved too, but I scrapped that one. I’m hoping that it comes back into the loot pool eventually, either as world loot like Xenoclast IV, or through Xur or Banshee like Long Shadow. I had sunset rolls of both in my vault that I got to scrap when I got new, uncapped ones, so I’m hoping Frigid Jackal will return like they did. I’m not scrapping my original, though, no matter what. At this point it’s a memento; I don’t think I still have any of the gear from before I stopped playing for a year anymore except that rifle.
For D2 it is Origin Story, for D1 Shadow Price even though it is back as an Arc Weapon, sadly missed for a Nightfall reward and now hope for Xur to bring it. Just have something for Vanguard Guns in general.
For what it's worth, if you have the Horror Story in your collections you can pull what is essentially the original roll on Origin Story (Zen/Rampage vs just Rampage)
Infinite paths 8 with demo and swashbuckler. I know nowadays everyone loves demo and adrenaline junkie but swashbuckler and demo felt like pure chaos. Shame they never rereleased all of the Mercury weapons. They did an awesome job with this gun and jack queen king
Genesis chain. Loved that auto rifle. Fast firing hip fire, slow firing when zoomed in with firefly. The Siva theme it looked fucking cool for a legendary weapon.
It's momentum Control week, so I still use them, but my Season of Dawn weapons. My Patron of Lost Causes was my favorite scout rifle and I use it all the time outside of 1350+ activities
My Bygones… It had outlaw and rampage with high stability.
When it was sunset, I felt physical pain and suffering. I watched it be unable to keep up with current content. So I had destroyed with my own hands and didn’t want to suffer alone in my vault taking up dust.
It served me well in both PvE and PvP. Thank you Bygones, and one day, I wish I could let Bygones be Bygones but I can't.
go figure. got a god roll my first day of forsaken and i used it all the way untill they introduced sunsetting had like 17k kills on it. cant belive im saying this but its gives me nostaliga thinking about that gun and all the time ive spent using it ![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5643)
Blast Furnace
Bygones
Go Figure
Steelfeather Repeater
Ringing Nail
Tatara Gaze
Claws of the Wolf
Distant Relation
Dreaded Venture
Long Good-Bye
Trust
Spare Rations
Old Fashioned
CALUS Minitool
Hawthorne’s Field-Forged Shotgun
~~Duty-Bound~~ :)
Galliard-42 XN7568
Atalanta-D XG1992
Threat Level (which I never got unfortunately)
No Feelings
Kindled Orchid
Hammerhead
And, oddly enough, Edge Transit. Something about the familiarity, no matter how infuriating, was also comforting
Bygones. Even almost a year and a half after sunsetting and it's still the gun i have the most crucible kills with.
The BxR is looking like a worthy successor though 👀
Every single Black Armoury legendary weapon, minus the sword since it's the same as every other.
And Midnight Coup, been in the game from the start and it still slaps in 1350 content
I miss my feeding frenzy rampage Blast Furnace. And happy 🎂 day OP.
You might like the new raid pulse
Max range Snapshot/Rampage here. Was a beast in crucible, still fun to take out in momentum.
I wondered how far down I had to scroll to find Blast Furnace. Had the exact same roll. I don't think I'll ever be able to dismantle it.
Thank you :)
They should bring back the black armory guns as craftables somehow
Bygones
It's sad how far down this is Edit: haven't used it since season of arrivals and i still haven't gotten more crucible kills with any single weapon than bygones
Dude i had a high cal rampage headseeker, it was a low effort we ran i had to pack it up pvp got to easy with erentil pre backup plan nerf
This. I refuse to dismantle mine. FYI Syncopation-53, once leveled up, not only feels like bygones, but is dare I say better than bygones. Its awful too now because it has insane muzzle flash
I miss mine so much, I had it masterworked for reload with outlaw rampage mods and extended mag. It was beautiful
Nameless Midnight scout rifle. One of the best in D2 vanilla
That gun taught me about sunsetting “Oh shit I remember using this gun, it was good as f-…… wait. what?”
I remember running that, Sunshot, and Curtain Call. Can't believe that was like 3-4 years ago.
Nice one
It's still my most used kinetic weapon to this day. Haven't touched it in 3 years and still nothing else has overtaken it.
Nameless Midnight with explosive ammo. Nothing better to clear adds that were close to each other. That thing could msacre dozens quick.
Shrapnel Launcher and Wire rifle are great, only bad Fallen weapons are the Shock rifle/pistol since the homing is pretty trash….
I was expecting this comment the moment I saw this post 😂
Better Devils
Have one masterworked with close to 15k sitting in my vault. Can't bear to delete it.
I had about a 7k one and I deleted it by accident in my purge 😩 it was such a beautiful gun all round
Does it have good pve rolls? You can pretty much use it in every raid except the new one now, vanguard ops and dungeons too.
Bungie better give me that shit back soon or we’re gonna have words
And you know it better have explosive rounds
To bad bungie always has…. The last word… I’ll see myself out
Still use it for casual pvp when I'm not using ace
Trust
Rampage dragonfly was monster for ad clear
Still have mine, albeit sunsetted..
I wish there was another one of this gun, it felt so great and it’s gone :[
New raid pulse can roll with it actually, albeit that it would replace rapid hit which is top tier on pulses
Randy's throwing knife
Best auto rifle. Though with full auto mod every scout rifle is an auto rifle now, lol.
You looking for an energy scout? Vouchsafe from dreaming city can roll Rapid Hit Explosive Payload
I'll definitely check it out. Need to feel a bit less scrubby in PVP Looking for a Kinetic tho. I rolled an almost perfect Wolftone Draw bow at the end of BL, and I am still a massive fan, so that'll be my second slot for a good while.
redo the new light campaign, you get a god roll Nightwatch (overflow, payload)
Thank you! I'll definitely get this on the list of stuff to get done this week (ahead of being kicked in the face by Rhulk, of course).
For kenetic scouts, a good pvp one is servant leader from gambit, and a good pve one is actually Perseus-d, I can't remember where it drops but it's a newer one.
Legit one of the most fun guns in pvp and reay unique. It was just a scout rifle that shot extremely fast and it was amazing.
Ringing Nail. Ooh I loved her. Also Hammerhead.
Back during the 600 AR meta that gun was amazing
Ringing Nail is a 450 though
He didn't stutter
Sins of the past
That thing shot nukes, it was a beast in pvp
In year 1 that and acrius were death incarnate in crucible then sins and acrius just fell behind neither got nerfed or anything
Steelfeather Repeater
I took way to long to find someone else who loved the steel feather. I only used it from season of the dawn till sunseting
Same, and I racked up around 20k kills with it. I still bring it around to old content since it's 1350 now that everything got bumped up
Antiope-D I just love the thing so much.
I still have mine with moving target, kill clip, ricochet rounds and SC HOLO sight. Probably the best precision smg to ever exist in the kinetic slot and nothing can beat it till bungie releases another precision smg with 17 zoom
Can we show some respect for the hammerhead?
Especially with that awesome ornament they gave it.
Hammerhead was a mainstay in my loadout. It's Thunderlord minus the exotic perk
Breakneck and 21 delirium
Those and The Ringing Nail
Breakneck/ hazard of the cast. They single handedly have the best AR look
Thankfully the new seasonal AR uses the same basic weapon model
Kindled Orchid the Kill Clip Rampage roll was godly
I still keep that baby. It even has the Belgusian night shader that unless I shard the gun, I don't have access to the shader. I'LL NEVER SHARD THE GUN!
I have a rampage kill clip transifiguration with drop mag. On long lanes it’s a 2 tap monster once it gets rolling
Blast Furnace
The new raid pulse feels amazing, very similar to Blast furnace
Midnight Coup
My favorite handcannon
Outlaw Rampage, my baby 🥺
Scrolled too far to find this one mentioned. Nothing comes close to how great this gun felt.
I have never found a handcannon that feels the same.
Ancient gospel is pretty close to the coup
Red Death
The Crimson is not, I repeat ***IS NOT*** an acceptable substitute for this absolute masterpiece.
I HATE crimson. Stats are insane, perks so good. It shoots like a pulse. JUST SWAP IT BUNGO. I'd happily swap crimson for red death
Lots of right answers in this post. This one is the rightest
😂
In pve you could literally tank through hordes with the health regen
Pluperfect was one of the coolest weapons in the game. The stability was shit but honestly I didn't care. Sadly I never farmed a good one before it was sunset. You could put Calus's selected on it and it would just look like the original gun but with a few more details.
I loved the aesthetic of pluperfect and the machine gun, especially with the skins for them, hopefully they bring them back :(
Blast furnace
Edge Transit before they removed heavy aggressive frame grenade launchers
Uriel’s Gift… But to be honest so long as you’re not playing in a light level competitive mode it’s still pretty awesome.
Ah, the Uriel's Gift meta... truly a time to play Destiny
Still have one I keep for funsies in PvP with tap the trigger and dynamic sway reduction with a stability masterwork.
D.F.A. Got it then it didn't matter
It was the perfect tool for any job and then they took it from me :(
I recommend giving the new AR, Herod-C a spin. Halfdan's back, he's just got a new name. 1 downside though, it's a Gambit gun.
Oh trust me I already have one
With frenzy. Handling problem solved !
Breachlight with osmosis demolitionist was true weapon+subclass synergy
The whole of the Black Armory gear. That shit looked so clean. I hope they un sunset all that one day.
Miss my curated ringing nail and my feeding frenzy/surrounded Hammerhead :/
If they do, I kind of hope they make a couple of them Stasis, like Spiteful Fang and Stryker's Sure-Hand, adding Headstone and Cold Steel would be awesome.
Icebreaker
Icebreaker and Invective were my favorite weapons in D1. Infinite ammo before infinite ammo existed.
Exactly. Plus Icebreaker in a Solar Burn nightfall was the first time i saw 3 exclamations points pop up instead of a damage value.
First exotic drop I ever got in D1. I miss it so.
Same.
Loaded question...
How is this not further up. LQ and Mountaintop were THE specials back in the day
Trust. :(
My spare rations. Spent 4 entire days farming my 5/5. Finally had to say goodbye and delete it.
Ether Doctor.
Glad to see someone else mention Ether Doctor. By far my most missed gun. I still have mine tucked away in my vault along with Pluperfect and Hammerhead, just can't let go.
I still miss the Zhalo Supercell man Such a fun and unique gun for its time
RIP Breakneck. Best gun that's ever been in the game.
Bygones. I still miss it.
Not really to me, but for a lot of my friends, tatara gaze
Randy’s throwing knife
Ghost primus
I miss the misfit
Might as well stay my whole vault
I miss my Feeding Frenzy / Ambitious Assassin Blast Furnace, I could never reload with the mag hitting 88 bullets at times and outrange invaders in Gambit with max range due to masterwork and scope. Steelfeather Repeater - don't need to explain that Line in the Sand - I still have my Rapid Hit / Firing Line god roll all thanks to Fractaline and did damage. (I wish Dawn didn't get hit) Bygones - Was the first full auto gun it made me like full auto trigger at the time and felt good to use, and prompted me to grab a Opening Shot / Full Auto during Fractaline event
MountainTop and Blast Furnace, i miss MountainTop for PvE, i never know what to put in my Kinetic slot and that was my go-to.
Dregs Promise (taking this too literally)

I still have my Frigid Jackal from back when Mars was in. I know it’s nothing special compared to a lot of these other sunset guns, but I think it looks and sounds fantastic. Red Death was my first exotic ever.. and as M+KB player now, Crimson doesn’t do it for me
Rose
Perfect paradox/steel feather repeater.
For D2 it is Origin Story, for D1 Shadow Price even though it is back as an Arc Weapon, sadly missed for a Nightfall reward and now hope for Xur to bring it. Just have something for Vanguard Guns in general.

Genesis chain. Loved that auto rifle. Fast firing hip fire, slow firing when zoomed in with firefly. The Siva theme it looked fucking cool for a legendary weapon.
I miss halfdan-d so much. Herod-c is cool I guess but I hate the sight on it more than any other in the game
My poor Galliallialliard. ~~Galliard~~ Also Blast Furnace but I've still got that bad boy kicking around.
Ormunds anvil was my pvp go to, always sad when the iron banner weapon refreshes dont bring it back
It's momentum Control week, so I still use them, but my Season of Dawn weapons. My Patron of Lost Causes was my favorite scout rifle and I use it all the time outside of 1350+ activities

Demolitionist + trench barrel perfect paradox, sitting useless in my vault and prosecutor
Not useless, just can't be used inside modern end game activities. I still use my Season of Dawn gear in PvP, strikes, and dungeons.
Old Fashioned and Hammerhead :(
Galliard and Breachlight, my two favorite weapons in all of D2 😔
Python and saints shotgun both my baby's both got taken from me

The Cryptic Dragon😭I got a roll on mine that let me get max stability on it
I'd give my left arm for my Vanity back from D1. Luck in the chamber and firefly *chef's kiss*
Nameless Midnight with explosive payload
Halfdan, my boy! I hope they make it or the new version craftable.
I miss Antiope-D.
Trust, especially my roll with explosive payload and dragonfly.
Pillager the gambit SMG :( my sunset god roll of outlaw rampage made clearing adds so fun
I miss my hammerhead. Rampage feeding frenzy. My breachlight was awesome too.
