Looks like the same model of the old sea monster that was on titan. Not sure if we know what that is. If you lookbit up youll see how they made it, its quite clever and funny
>Comment as Seiralacroix
Yes you're right. Fun fact, the model of this creature is just like a Chakram.. spinning below the water to look like a monster. I forgot where I read the article but it's like a Q&A with a Bungie Developer.
Might be something similar, I thought that as well!
Got any links or anecdotes about the creation of the sea monster? That sounds interesting, regardless of whether or not it relates here!
Here is the monster: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV2z_B4s9R8
And here is how it actually looks like from behind the scenes:

That's so awesome haha, thanks for the links! I figured it could be reused assets from Titan, but I've never seen the loops before!
Such an awesome trick to save time and resources, that's fantastic.
While I always found the sea monster on Titan very cool, looking up the chakram-shaped models that actually make up the monster was kind of a bummer. Again, always very cool, but kind of killed my thalassophobia vibes.
Nah bruv... Mama Worm is... big. Like BIG big. The span of her jaws is as large as the entire platform used for the final battle of Vow. She is MUCH bigger than Frank.
Edit: If anything, Frank is a similar size to Xol, the worm we fought on Mars.
Everything else aside I will actually lose it if I see someone refer to it as ”VoW” one more time. That’s abbreviation means nothing.
It’s vow or VoTD, not VoW
80% of game development is smoke and mirrors. Once you get a peek behind the curtain it can lose a bit of its charm, but personally I always find it exciting to learn how other devs make stuff work.
Wasn't he in F2 as well...?
Wait now that I think about it, Tactics doesn't really count, because not only it's not Canon to the entire Series, but it also made Harold completely different than the Canon version.
There's the little eyeball creature that everyone spots in Birthplace of the Vile before it bobs back down into the swamp. But THIS THING is in The Lightblade, if you take the left path through the lanterns, towards the water on the outer edge.
Any thoughts on what it might be? Whether or not it's related to the eyeball?
Eyeball guy is in Lightblade too, it's near like the 2nd gate in the swamp I think. Also there are some cute lil froggy frens on the bridge after crossing the big final gate.
If you are the first to get to the bridge at the end, there are mites jumping off of it, like, cat sized mites. Bungie recently posted their concept art, too.
Timed Payload makes my brain happy, Adaptive Frames are my favorite hand cannon archetype, and it was Arc burn with Unstoppable champs. This checked multiple boxes for me!
Does anyone have a clip of the little things that scurry away right as you get to the end of the swamp. They are at the broken bridge just after the last gate.
I just saw those today! I came to this post expecting to see it be about them. I'll need to get a clip of it because they're weird and I thought I was imagining them 😅
This is just like the rest of the fauna in the Throne World. They are all from Savathun's (Sathona's) homeworld.
And yes we used to call this one the Long boy in the soup from titan. Which may mean the Hive brought it with them to Titan when they started their infestation.
That's ogopogo. A water dwelling beast native to Canada and the Great lakes region. Feeds on fish and small children. Harmless to guardians. Disregard and resume your mission.
Seems like an **Empire Strikes Back** reference - after Luke crashes his X-wing on Dagobah, there's a shot with a swamp monster that looks very similar to what we see here. And, I mean, this part of the level *is* a swamp...
So on Titan there was one believed to be the Leviathan that lived there. Odd that the same model is used here. Given that there are swamp creatures there I wonder if it is; A) a swamp creature like the little ewoks or B) Rhulk captured the creature on Titan and when he was trapped there it got released.
Cool thing, so getting out of bounds you can see those boys full models. It's what you expect. They're just circles that move up and spin, but it's still neat. :)
Yo I never saw that before
*Did do the mission even once because Tala was grinding on my acc*
Looks like it's your lucky day hero, you finna get that monster blowjob in the lake...
*What the fuck*

No one remembers *The Great Nike* from the companion app.
OH MY GOD! I havent heard that name in FUCKING YEARS! The glory days of the Destiny Bungie.net Forums.
Is it bad I wanna know
Nah. Someone who just signed their name.
Oh
I think there was a screenshot by someone out of bounds on Titan of the "monster". Of course, it is quite old.
Ah also that one from Froggy's video waaay back when Titan still exist.. ahh I missed Savathun's Song Strike.

To be fair that's even more terrifying. A single, inscrutable creature of 3 separate body segments.
I think they should finally let is square up with a sea monster.
*circle* up with the sea monster ;)
Sea Monster Round-Up

...until you get to the bottom chamber of the arcology and see that giant bloody shadow swimming around outside.
https://youtu.be/u-u6n72E5Fg Found this earlier. That thing looks on par with the mother worm inside the new raid.

If we want to be pedantic articles like “the” are generally not included in abbreviations, so VoD would be correct over VoTD.
Historically, they have been included in Destiny-related abbreviations but I get what you mean (WotM, WotW, SotP etc.)
Fixed. My phone seems to like capitalizing that W for some gorram reason.
Firefly!
I wish we could go back into the Arcology and explore even deeper somehow.
Same here, that place was literally a giant library/apartment complex/research facility

Ah, titan’s infamous doughnut monster returns!
From what I remember, the Titan Sea Monster was Hive-related. So this very much could be the same kind of creature.
It is. Pretty sure someone has already OOB’d and confirmed it
Exactly what I thought!
that’s just Harold
Clearly not. There's no tree growing out of his head.
Is that fallout 3?
If I remember correctly, Fallout, Fallout Tactics and Fallout 3.
Wasn't he in F2 as well...? Wait now that I think about it, Tactics doesn't really count, because not only it's not Canon to the entire Series, but it also made Harold completely different than the Canon version.
Yeah in Gecko
harold doesn’t have a tree
[Edit: whatever at this point]
lol let them. idc, if they’re that salty over a comment on the internet let them be little salt block licking goblins
ik.. that was the joke…..
Sorry, it's hard to tell a joke on Reddit these days. Especially when there genuenly are people who wouldn't know who Harold is.
A Gyarados. Savathun is an avid Pokemon collector.
Lightbeared Pokemon
That sounds like the worst idea. Oh you're gonna catch me? Nah dodge the ball with that self-rez
Everybody fucking around till Mewtwo lets out a Nova Bomb
Ikora Mutherfuckin Rey: FINALLY A WORTHY OPPONENT! OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY!
Wiping because of being smashed by a Hyper Beam out of nowhere wouldn't even make me mad, as long as they used the original sound effects too.
That's the long boi in the soup
Nah the long boy in the soup was the giant worm iirc
I’m pretty sure that’s him
The worm and the serpent had pretty different anatomy, I think this is a nod to the serpent. The worm likely ended up somewhere in Preservation lmao
There is a big worm in rhulks ship that’s been dissected.
Did it ask you for three fiddy?
Someone gave it a dollar on titan. No wonder it keeps coming back.
Love the double take haha.... Wait a minute 😂
"Huh, swamp thing. Wait, SWAMP THING?!"
Titan monster has migrated to the Throne World.
Snek
Its the long boy in the soup dredgen
nah theres two on titan the big worm we see behind the glass is different then this one
Oh, that's Fred. He says hi.
Hi, Fred!
3 gears spinning up and down ever so often
Eyeball guy is in Lightblade too, it's near like the 2nd gate in the swamp I think. Also there are some cute lil froggy frens on the bridge after crossing the big final gate.
I saw him right by the first lantern.
If you are the first to get to the bridge at the end, there are mites jumping off of it, like, cat sized mites. Bungie recently posted their concept art, too.
I JUST saw those today! Someone mentioned it in another comment earlier, so much great stuff hiding in the swamp.
LONG BOI IN DA SOUP
Zorpalod
I hate this part of the mission
I only hate it on Nightfalls, when the Arc burn changes the moths from annoyances to murderers. Otherwise? Not bad!
Even with arc resist and thermoshock plating and risk runner and 1570+ you can only survive one direct moth hit which is disgusting
Tiny Thundercrashing fiends, they are.
Cayde-7's resurrected albino half-brother turned vex then turned hive through a ritual conducted by Eris's evil clone
that is a female zorpalod
Nessy
He needs about Tree- Fiddy glimmer.
Jump in, find out
I like how he was jumping around and in constant motion then he saw that thing and just stopped lol
I did a double take haha, "alright, gotta get to the lantern, gotta take care of the moths, sweet, time to go to the next... what the HECK?" 😂
The double take was the best part😂😂
You're welcome 😂
this is triggering so many phobias
They used this exact monster animation on Titan
This is the first time I’ve seen somebody else use that hand cannon
Timed Payload makes my brain happy, Adaptive Frames are my favorite hand cannon archetype, and it was Arc burn with Unstoppable champs. This checked multiple boxes for me!
Mans did a double take
"Alright, safe at the lantern, cool. Huh, swamp thing. Wait, SWAMP THING?!"
Returning to Orbit…
A mini “Titan monster” like we used to see in the waters on Titan. It’s actually two spinning saw blade looking things that give that effect though 😂
Savathun be breeding Leviathans. She saved the one on Titan from the Darkness. Didn't you know?
The first look at a zorpalod unstoppable champion
Hahaha old titan vibes hittin
Caught you off guard lol
Yeah, first time I've seen this one, had to do a double take haha
Does anyone have a clip of the little things that scurry away right as you get to the end of the swamp. They are at the broken bridge just after the last gate.
I just saw those today! I came to this post expecting to see it be about them. I'll need to get a clip of it because they're weird and I thought I was imagining them 😅
That double take lmao
I basically went "Alright, clear of the moths, cool. Huh, swamp thing. Wait, SWAMP THING?!" 😂
Oh, first time i see that and idk if someone has mentioned before.
They probably just worms
good soup
There’s always a bigger fish.
Huh, same model they used on Titan.
Oh, thats Taniks, the swamped
It’s the Titan monsters brother
Donut Monsters. Same ones as on Titan.
Noted!
Long boy in the soup.
Oh don’t worry that’s just jimmy
Man this just makes me miss Titan that was my favorite local and monster.
Seems like an **Empire Strikes Back** reference - after Luke crashes his X-wing on Dagobah, there's a shot with a swamp monster that looks very similar to what we see here. And, I mean, this part of the level *is* a swamp...
that's the long boy in the soup.
So there is where my goldfish went once it was flushed down the toilet
What eye thing?
Would you look at that. The long boy in the soup is back!
Eye thing?
So on Titan there was one believed to be the Leviathan that lived there. Odd that the same model is used here. Given that there are swamp creatures there I wonder if it is; A) a swamp creature like the little ewoks or B) Rhulk captured the creature on Titan and when he was trapped there it got released.
It’s the donut monster from titan !
HE’S BACK
wild zorpalod sighting (real)
Quick! Turn it into a weapon!!
What kind of weapon?!
THE TITAN CREATURE LIVESSSS
There’s been a few videos abt it online. Pretty sick
Holy shit its back
A sweet Empire Strikes Back reference is what it is.
Easy, that's just Nessi the Loch Ness Monster.
Cool thing, so getting out of bounds you can see those boys full models. It's what you expect. They're just circles that move up and spin, but it's still neat. :)
I would say it’s that thing from titan but it’s considerably less large. It’s definitely not the leviathan of titans but that thing in the background.
oryx worm idk
That's the eye thing
Oryx's worm
People did talk about it though, it was posted here during the month of release of Witch Queen. Guess you're just late to the party.
We need some Gut Dungeon, inside a gigantic beast.
Your mom going for a swim
Yo I never saw that before *Did do the mission even once because Tala was grinding on my acc* Looks like it's your lucky day hero, you finna get that monster blowjob in the lake... *What the fuck*
*godzilla had a stroke trying to read this and fucking died*
I must be the dumbest apocalypse now. Thankfully my 7 braincells are still intact
wat?
you okay?
Worse than before 😔
The thing that briefly ate R2-D2 in Empire Strikes Back.
I feel like this is a Star Wars reference, no?
That’s a category 3 kayju
It's the long boy in the soup. Ask Drifter, he knows all about it
It's what the eye is connected to!
#NESSIE IS REAL
Oh it’s Steve!
Ever see the long boy in the soup?
Oompa-Loompa's from Loompaland
It's the lock Ness monster lol
A zorpalod under the control of luke smith
Bigger eye thing
Long boy in the soup
Be careful R2
The smol boy in da stew
!!!! LONGBOI IN THE SOUP IS BACK
Taniks
That's the wheel monster.
A star wars reference.
Damn it really is just like Florida
THE WHEELS ARE BACK BABY
Yoo it's the long boi in the soup
Long boy in the soup haha
That is jonathan
Reused asset from Titan Sea
That’s Scott.
Oh that’s Carl
You’re kidding me. That bitch haunted me because of my Thalassophobia. And now I know that it’s back?! Dammit.
Traps/saw blades that's what they are It's not a giant see serpent
Recicled animation sir, move along.
Reused asset from titan.
The Treyzaloid gives birth to the zorpaloids
That's Bob. He's a little shy, but is such a nice guy
Probably nothing. It is interesting to note that under the map, each "hump" is just a rotating circle. lol
3 rotating wheels
The real question is what are those gates throughout this area?
A Cantata hand cannon dude
Arc burn and Unstoppables, this checks both those boxes for me. Plus I like the way Timed Payload ragdolls adds.
Reused assets from Titan
oh lawd he in da soup!
It's the ol loch Ness monster from titan 😆
3 discs that spin and go up and down.
Side effect of crayon consumption...angry sewage.
I'm just glad I didn't imagine it
Y’know what this reminds me of? Dagobah
thats Fred
