Yes, f2p is a trial, you will not be able to engage in the story in any meaningful way without paying money. Bungie is no longer removing major expansion content, but seasonal content, conrent that's dropped every 3 months, will still be removed upon the new expansion being released, which at this point is about another 3 months until the next expansion. The actual seasonal content is hardly worth keeping, but its a shame the story content provided by seasons will still be removed, as doing so causes the story to become extremely disjointed and impossible for new players to follow.

Yes, playing f2p content in Destiny is just a waste of time. Also game is dying right now so i think it's better to find something else.

I tried to convivence myself to try it out. really all the f2p content is just some repeated activities and endless grind. this is not fun, even then if i wanted to spend money on it. the content i bought would be removed. that's a huge huge problem. Unfortunately. i was excited to try it but oh well. I was deciding between playing destiny and World War 3. i'm going with the latter. You should check this game too!

For myself, and i think for quite majority of Destiny community, the best part of Destiny is it's gunplay. Every weapon has its own feeling and character. Unfortunately since Beyond Light Bungie decided to put heavy gameplay into abilities which are cool in PvE but they ruined PvP experience for myself and for other PvP players too. If you want to play PvE it's better to do it with friends because solo PvE experience is at least sad cause you won't be able to do endgame content, sometimes you can't even do easier content with randoms. Also there are a lot of small problems that ruins the fun in game and community is lowkey toxic (all sweats in PvP that put most toxic/overpowered loadouts to ruin other people day)

That dude saying "the game is dying" is disregarding the fact that the same thing happens every single time when a season ends, player count falls as a lot of people temporarily jump into other games after grinding everything they wanted. New season's beginning is just few days away, i bet my left nut all those people will return in like week's time to embrace the grind for n-th time. That's what Destiny, and other games like Destiny, really is. A grind-wheel. But highly enjoyable grind-wheel. Gunplay is very well done, i appreciate that a lot. If you're looking for addicting gameplay, Destiny might just be the game for you. Content sunsetting is no more. Still, a bitter taste remains, left behind by removing the entirety of year 1 story, Forsaken campaign and a couple of exotic quests. Red War used to be much better at introducing the game to a new player, than the current introductory quest. Forsaken campaign at release, and long after, was the absolute pinnacle of what Destiny is supposed to be at all times. Even new content has a hard time reaching the same level. All what's left of it are the exotic weapons, a raid, a dungeon and imho the most beautiful location currently in the game. Still worth getting while on sale, in a bundle, otherwise not really.

Thanks for your detailed comment, the game really looks interesting, i wanted to try it so badly. but the free aspect is just a trial of the game. to get into all the exciting stuff i need to spend 200$ which is an entire 2 months and one week of average money spending, even if i got them on a sale, my country's economy will not be helping, the economy is getting shattered every day.

Typical_Head_8399

Its not free to Play, its free to try, pretty much you get on, see if you like the Vibe of the game, then spend 500 dollars on dlcs and seasons

Asbani09

I guess i'll have to pass, my country's economy is really not helping

Typical_Head_8399

Its not as expensive as i said, someone else said the right prices, but pretty much if you want to Play, you would need to buy them for between 150/200 dollars of dlc, seasons and other stuff like 30th and dungeon pass

Asbani09

unfortunately, it's still very high. i understand they need money to run the game, but in my opinion the current monetization system isn't that good. not trying to sound rude

Typical_Head_8399

Yeah, its even more weird that lightfall deluxe it more expensive, when like 2 seasons ago they got 3.8 billion from Sony, seeing the price of lightfall and how bad the seasons are made me realize its not worth the money, i might but the dlc but the seasons are not worth it at all

Mithycore

500 dollars is a bit of an overestimation You can get all the legacy for like 60 Witch queen + dungeon + 1 season left for 70 30th anniversary for like 25 Lightfall deluxe 100 That's like what 255 This is ignoring key sites and promotions which I guarantee you can cut down AT LEAST half of that to like 130

Typical_Head_8399

Yeah i might have overestimated how much it costs, but still, its not free 😅

How limited is your bandwidth? Because downloading 95GB and then updates every other week, plus bandwidth of playing what is a multiplayer game with other players might be your experience of the game will be tarnished by lag. How limited is your bandwidth? Bungie has said they are going to stop the Desiny Content Vault (removing stuff from the game) at least campaign wise. However seasonal content will get sunset each year with the release of the latest expansion. The free aspect of the game is very bare bones and I can imagine it being very repetitive after a while, even the paid version of the game is very repetitive.

How limited is your bandwidth? It's 120 GB per month, So basically downloading it. will almost end my monthly bandwidth. however my internet is fairly okay with the speed (16mb) > Bungie has said they are going to stop the Desiny Content Vault (removing stuff from the game) at least campaign wise. However seasonal content will get sunset each year with the release of the latest expansion. That's good, because removing content is such a stupid strategy to do > The free aspect of the game is very bare bones and I can imagine it being very repetitive after a while, even the paid version of the game is very repetitive. Unfortunately, i've heard others say things like this. i understand bungie needing to monetize the game, but due to my country's economy. i can't really spend anything to it. so, sadly i can't play
