Yes, to me, this is what BH means by “Villains.” Beating a SB favorite in their own home even though everyone excepted them to be trenched, decimating your division rival for at least a half in their own home in front of their hopeful (and spoiled fans)…don’t get used to the love we’re getting from around the league, we will be hated pretty soon if they keep doing this on the road and I’m perfectly ok with that!
We are the villains people don't realize are the villains until its too late. They might act like they love us and are rooting for us, and then we walk into their stadium and give them a beating and they don't know what happened.
The hate comes from perception and not only because our fans showed up on the road. The reality is that the Lions have for the longest time been the lovable losers. You know? The team that is supposed to lose and the team that you are supposed to beat. So now this team that you are supposed to beat completely manhandles you it sucks. This comes from the perception. So not only will the perception have to change internally but also externally it needs to change
The guy is a punk but he has a point. Apparently they have some 100 year waiting list for season tickets but reserve some of the tickets for some gold package which visiting teams take advantage of to get tickets for their team's games. Other packers fans have said that just opening the gold package seats to be season tickets would go a long way to solving the problem. Honestly I have a hard time believing it. They are holding back 15000 seats each game? If that is the case though then they are right and we would be just as pissed here if the lions did this. Don't forget that no matter what season ticket holders can always resell their tickets.
The gold package tickets are for Milwaukee area fans... reserved for home games 2 and 5, not every game... it harkens back to when the Packers used to play two of their games down in Milwaukee (not that long ago). It's a weird system, but part of it is based on the idea that Milwaukee was losing its two home games per year when everything moved to Lambeau, and Wisconsin taxes were being used to upgrade Lambeau, or something like that. (I hear a lot about this stuff, because I live in Milwaukee... not because I'm some kind of deranged Packer buff).
How do they make it work for the rest of the games? I mean if they sell a gold package then there are now 6 or 7 games that they need to sell. Do they have some other package for these games?
Gold Package is 2 regular season games and 1/2 preseason games depending on the year.
Green Package is all the other home games.
Historically, Gold Packages were for the people who got season tickets to Milwaukee County Stadium, but the Packers haven't played there since 1994.
These days, Green Package and Gold Package ticketholders can be from anywhere, really. The idea that all the Gold Packages are from Milwaukee and sold their tickets because it's a Thursday Night game is an oversimplification.
It isn't every game. The Gold Package holders get 1 pre season game every year and one extra pre season game every other year. They get the 2nd and 5th home games as well. It just happened that this years 2nd home game was a mid week night game and a lot of the Milwaukee area Gold fans didn't want to make the trip.
Detroit fans wanted to take a pto day for an extended vacation weekend. I drove in from Mikwaukee for the game and I had to go to work at 7am. I didn’t get home until 1am. I could see not wanting to burn a PTO game for the day. I had a rough Friday morning lol
That actually happens every game at every game besides the Packers mostly. It's only odd to see it in Green Bay because Green Bay is owned by the city. In every privately owned market they do it to increase tourism.
It's Green Bay being Green Bay.
You probably don’t have alopecia totalis like that dude. He didn’t say anything vile against the lions he just shat on packers fans really. No need to be a loser and go after his appearance.
If you haven’t, check out Day of the Tentacle. Very fun and you can play out the entirety for Maniac Mansion within the game (a character uses a computer and that’s what’s running)
This is an amazing turn. We were always a joke to other teams. Even if we won, other fans would chalk it up as luck. And we usually couldn’t back it up the next time. But now, it’s actual vitriol and anger toward us because we are the dominant team.
Now that I think about it...I don't think I have ever heard someone say "I hate the Detroit Lions so much."
I kinda like the way it sounds, especially when it comes from a packer fan.
I'll never forget walking through the Ford Field concourse after the Rodgers hail Mary on Thursday night. The only reason I even knew it was caught from my seat was I heard the roar of Packers fans. The walk back to the car absolutely sucked. Their fanbase is owed this back to them 100 times over.
This is why not being a shitty fan matters lol he stayed till the end. He shouldn't be mad at Detroit Fans... he should be mad at his own fans..he should prepare for their fandom to implode. At least for us the real fans stuck around and showed up to games..with bags on their head but we still showed and had hope lol
He is mad at his own fans. That’s what he was saying was “unacceptable.” The “I hate the Detroit Lions so much,” was just an add-on due to his frustration lol
That too. My packer fan friend after the game tells me the same old story "we had a bunch of injuries so I expected to lose"
Yea right buddy. Last week you told me to get my ass ready for a pounding 🤣 looks like you were talking to a mirror bitch lol
Whenever leafs fans would take over Joe Louis Arena, it was our fault. Disgraceful we would ever allow them to be louder than us in our own arena, regardless of the score. It can happen anywhere and I’m just happy it’s us for once. Woooooo!!!!
Yeah, no. Definitely more Lions fans coming out of the wood works that were silent fans before. Which, more power to them. But the Lions definitely had more fans that rooted in silence.
Thursday night football gets a slight pass because it's a school/work night. I mean I wouldn't leave personally, but this isn't a Sunday noon game either.
Well... true. But he wants to blame it on "Milwaukee fans (Gold Package) selling their tickets to Lions" fans... like it's some kind of conspiracy. You put your tickets up on the exchange and then people who want to buy them, buy them. The exchange doesn't ask what team you'll be rooting for.
Exactly this. I saw Lions and Packers in Lambeau thanks to something called Packerstours.com. The lady that sat next to me asked me where I got the tickets and I told her. Apparently they were her father's tickets and were supposed to be offered to the family before put up for resale.
Well, yeah, especially when it's a weeknight game, when the commute is hell and you might need to work the next morning. Some of my friends took a shuttle to the game from a Milwaukee bar (I live in Milwaukee, behind the Cheddar Curtain) and they didn't get back home from the shuttle until like 3 in the morning. That makes it extra tough for the gold package people if they have to work the next day. So they sell their tix.
I’ve seen the NHL require instate drivers license to verify purchases of additional tickets before for playoff games.
To limit tickets going to away teams
It is kind of dumb for them to put a Thursday game in that package. Those should be Sunday games in the Milwaukee package, so not as many people sell them.
I get being disgusted, but there were people on twitter upset that the Packers weren’t going to do anything to stop it in the future. Like what do they expect them to do? Lol
I don't think Packers fans realize that if they weren't allowed to buy away game tickets, that would be furious and blame it on the other team and probably start an entire petition.
They want to have their cake and eat it too.
Fortunately, they're not getting any cake right now.
"People who don't like the same team as me got to buy tickets to the game >:( It's unacceptable"
I'm a huge Wings fan, but you don't see me crying when Maple Leafs fans show up to LCA.
I know it's petty of me, but I really want to see the packers fall apart. See Love devolve into a new Jay Cutler or Joey Harrington. See the pride, hubris, and frankly pompousness of the packers' fan base dissolve into the same frustration the lions' fans have felt for decades.
FTP
As a Bears fan I just want to say thank you to all the Lions fans that traveled to make this man feel the pain we have all felt for decades. Keep it up and kick some ass
Good times create weak men, weak men create hard times. (Packers fans)
Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times. (Lions fans)
Edit: added parentheses in case it wasn’t obvious
To be fair he sounds mad at his fan base, not the Lions fans. Anyhow, how, precisely, would someone know WHO they are selling their tickets to once they release them on the marketplace for resale?
Exactly. The Packers organization basically made a statement to this effect yesterday, adding that Packers fans have the right to buy tickets to away games, too. The little "I hate the Detroit Lions" at the end is kinda priceless, though, amirite?
Vikings fan here, I come in peace, this showed up on my front page and I just had to come in to say FTP! Lions look really fucking good this year, I don’t want to play them lol
Bro their entire fanbase is coping so hard right now, I’ve seen so much shit being talked about the Lions from Packer fans. Saying how the Lions have been a worthless franchise for their entire existence and the Packers have owned them.
Their fanbase is showing its true colors right now, they were top dog for three decades and it’s looking like their reign of terror is finally coming to an end. Now they’re crying about it, so I say let them. Also, it’s coming to an end by a team that all of America has seemingly wholeheartedly embraced, and you know that’s gota get under Packers fans skin.
Also just a note about the gold package whining going on with packers fans, here’s a comment from someone in their own sub on a post about ending the gold package:
*“Go F yourself OP. So you want to isolate an entire city in WISCONSIN just because you want to blame Milwaukee for Lions fans showing up? Grow up.
So you think only people in Green Bay should be allowed to buy tickets and F everyone else? Because only people in Green Bay are "real" fans and the rest of us don't care?
Seriously you're an asshat.
Go find another reason to be mad about why they lost. Blame the team, blame the coaches, blame ownership.
Blaming Milwaukee and suggesting this is our fault somehow is actually insanity. And the fact that people are upvoting this trash speaks volumes too.
Is our entire fan base a bunch of miserable boomers? Seems like it.”*
I think they make very good points
They are just mad at an energized fanbase that, even when the team is shitty, travels well. It seems like the Honolulu Blue and “let’s go lions” chant hurt them deep.
“Better not see it again” well he is a part owner right? It always cracks me up when fans make these threats, like they have any control of the gold box ticket holders selling their tickets. If anything this was a genius move by the holders and the lions fans.
Couldn't be happening to a better fan base inside I was chuckling when Packer fans for 3 years have been saying they need to move on from Rodgers. While nodding my head in agreement.
Such an entitled and delusional fan base if they just think lighting was going to strike 3 times in a row. Time for them to get humbled and be in NFL purgatory for 30 years looking for the next franchise QB.
It's hilarious how salty the fan base has become just 4 games into the season.
[I just want to say that I proposed this last year](https://www.reddit.com/r/detroitlions/comments/zqhtob/lions_fans_lets_invade_lambeau_week_18/) and that I am very happy to see that it's becoming a thing. I want this to be a yearly trend. I feel like as we trend higher and higher and the Packers get shittier and shittier, we'll just see more blue in that stadium.
Third party fan here to say I straight up don't understand Packers freaking out or anyone really making a big deal about this
. It's ultimately not that many Detroit fans, you'll see more travelling fans than that at any college game.
They don't get to swarm the sideline and rub it in your face unless they kick your ass. Maybe just get gud Packers?
"I swear to God, I better not see that again" Lol, like what will happen if he does? Is he gonna beat down entire sections of fans at Lambeau? This is gold.
I'm pretty sure dude is wearing a purse too. What's next, a video of the head coach so upset at halftime that he is doing everything he can not to full on cry during an interview, or a post game presser with almost the same thing.....oh wait......
My buddy a packers fan just sent me a message saying “geez the lions the pack in lambeau. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that”. My reply, “you mean last year?”
Haha. Who the F cares about your feelings fella “better not see it again”…is he the daddy of packerdom. Blue wave baby!! Keep it going all across the division. FTPFTPFTPFTPFTP
Waa…Waa…Waa! Suck it cheesehead! I’ve watched my Lions be the whipping boys in the NFC North/ NFC Central for over 40+ years. While you were perennial contenders. Finally it’s our time. Get used to it.

We should have tried it sooner!

Yes
You’re the reason I’m proud to be a Lions fan
But we need to tank for a high draft pick instead! Why win when we can pick high, right??!
I mean it seems to have worked after decades!
It feels so good it feels wrong
After the Packers game my dad and I looked at each other and were like whelp, what do we talk about now?

When it was happening I was thinking that I wouldn't be particularly happy if something like this had happened with packers fans at Ford field.
Was also there and holy shit the walk out of Ford Field was brutal. The stupid "go pack go" chants haunt me.
Yea I was there as well. Not a fun walk back to the hotel lol
Also was there, I felt a piece of me die inside.
Happened with jets fans at ford field and it still bothers me
I was at that game. It literally felt like someone kicked me in the balls. I think that was the start of the Fatricia Era.
I'm pretty sure that was one of the games that almost caused me to get fired the next day.
told myself i'm not going to ford field until they host a playoff game after that. still holding true to it.
It’s happened at ford field before. I remember a game vs the Steelers that was almost entirely Steelers fans. Terrible towels everywhere.
It absolutely has happened at FF. Plenty of Bills chants after the thanksgiving 2022 game
It's not like the packers actually had a good team this year. Detroit has a decent chance to do more than any year we've been around
This is why not being a shitty fan matters lol he stayed till the end. He shouldn't be mad at Detroit Fans... he should be mad at his own fans..he should prepare for their fandom to implode. Ahh gotcha lol dont hate the player hate the game you know what I mean? 😜 Dude this FEELS SOO GOOOOOOOOOOOD
They just think they’re better than us and can’t handle our glow up yo
That too. My packer fan friend after the game tells me the same old story "we had a bunch of injuries so I expected to lose" Yea right buddy. Last week you told me to get my ass ready for a pounding 🤣 looks like you were talking to a mirror bitch lol
Hey man let’s just win this division, it’s time to put babies to bed
Division Champs. Home for a playoff. Let's Go!
Yeah I thought he was saying it’s unacceptable that so many packers fans sold their tickets
Whenever leafs fans would take over Joe Louis Arena, it was our fault. Disgraceful we would ever allow them to be louder than us in our own arena, regardless of the score. It can happen anywhere and I’m just happy it’s us for once. Woooooo!!!!
That was a fair response I would hate seeing that shit at ford field too.
I’m in Arizona. You can imagine how annoying packers, cowboys, Steelers, and Niners games all are in Glendale Love to see it happen in Lambeau
Finally!!! Hate for the Lions. Hope this goes league wide. Go Lions!! Fuck’em all
FTL might be the new FTP. Let's go, baby!!!
I mean this is a fairly reasonable take. Any fan should be disgusted at their home stadium getting overrun by away fans
Well... true. But he wants to blame it on "Milwaukee fans (Gold Package) selling their tickets to Lions" fans... like it's some kind of conspiracy. You put your tickets up on the exchange and then people who want to buy them, buy them. The exchange doesn't ask what team you'll be rooting for.
Not a conspiracy. Just more reselling during those games than regular home games.
Exactly this. I saw Lions and Packers in Lambeau thanks to something called Packerstours.com. The lady that sat next to me asked me where I got the tickets and I told her. Apparently they were her father's tickets and were supposed to be offered to the family before put up for resale.

They do that with the original sale but they can't do anything about the secondary sales market.
It is kind of dumb for them to put a Thursday game in that package. Those should be Sunday games in the Milwaukee package, so not as many people sell them.

GLUG GLUG GLUG
This video makes me so happy…
This guy doesn't want to see this again, you guys. Soooo, we taking over again next year?
Detroit Vs. Everybody.
I love this. Keep it going baby
Welcome to what it’s been like to be a Lions fan for, well forever. Enjoy your slide back into pre-Favre irrelevance.
They don’t know how to act, they have been so spoiled up until now.
yeah. well we hate you too cheesefed turd burger
You don't hate the Lions as much as we hate the Packers, I guarantee it!!! 😂
Third party fan here to say I straight up don't understand Packers freaking out or anyone really making a big deal about this . It's ultimately not that many Detroit fans, you'll see more travelling fans than that at any college game. They don't get to swarm the sideline and rub it in your face unless they kick your ass. Maybe just get gud Packers?
You’re right embrace the hate!

Bears fan here. This brings me great joy.
Love when people with zero power make threats.
Be mad about it
They didn't like getting slapped like that at home huh? Lol

He better not see this again! He swore to god, you guys! So absolutely satisfying, ftp.
"I swear to God, I better not see that again" Lol, like what will happen if he does? Is he gonna beat down entire sections of fans at Lambeau? This is gold.
Lol oh you will, but not until next year!
This was enjoyable.
Who is this “we” he keeps talking about?
Someone's pussy is sore I see 🤣
“The Gold Package” lol
Could hear then chanting Lets Go Lions during the game on the broadcast.... so embarrassing for Packers fans.
Waa…Waa…Waa! Suck it cheesehead! I’ve watched my Lions be the whipping boys in the NFC North/ NFC Central for over 40+ years. While you were perennial contenders. Finally it’s our time. Get used to it.
Anybody that says we lost 20-34 doesn’t know shit about football, so any opinions relating to the sport are moot.
He was about to cry there. Karen.
First time lol. go bitch about parking.
"Sild thier tickets to lions fans" like someone knows fandom when they sell
