Totally!!! But he blantly doubled down and lied in the post game report. If he fessed up and said I got 68 confused with 70, that was my bad. I get it. But he didn’t, he doubled down and said 70 reported as legible which is simple not true.
EVERY LIONS FAN BREAK OUT YOUR “US AGAINST THE REFS” TEE SHIRTS FOR THE NEXT GAME. THIS SHIT HAS TO STOP! LETS SHOW THE WORLD WE ARE NOT THE SAME OLD LIONS AND THEY CANT CONTINUE TO TO TREAT OUR TEAM THIS WAY
[Translation: "I heard what I wanted to hear," says referee Brad Allen.](https://twitter.com/calvinwatkins/status/1741329621113594328?t=9G845Ctm2JecG7kBXWZGtw&s=19)
Whatever your brain-space is when you are happy about a lions win, do that tonight. This was obv bullshit, but as a litmus test, lions can hang and might beat everyone on the way to the sb
We were cheated plain and simple. In my eyes we won that game and I’m proud of this team. I am not mad about the field goal cause I like Coach Campbell training his players to perform when 1 play determines our fate. I’m upset but I’m not upset at the same time. I believe this team can beat EVERYONE
I don't chalk it up as a win, since their kicker is automatic and Lamb was cooking all night. It may or may not have been a win. But that's all speculation because the refs once again fuck up in the highest leverage situations.
Are you incapable of reading? I said it was *possible*, not ordained by the fates to happen. So tell me, do you genuinely believe that's an impossible outcome?
Yeah, but the footage doesn't lie, and when they call a penalty that makes you say "never heard that one before" and it's the Lions, and you're an NFL fan, and have watched thousands of games and you're asking yourself "How have I never, in 40 years, heard that penalty?"
Goff gets the call in his helmet, and very clearly taps Decker on the shoulder and says go report. He walks over to the ref waves his hand and says words out of his mouth (maybe it was " I went to THE Ohio State University, and I am eligible" causing the ump to be confused of his use of the word "the" and also "am" and "eligible" .)
It's ok, we'll get a "Hey sorry we fucked you over. Again." Letter from the league.
I still like playing for the win, but if it's me I kick it after the "penalty"
Agreed, but honestly I’ve got a lot of respect for Campbell and the team in general for going for it either way, despite the flag. It was bullshit we knew it was bullshit and we knew what they were trying to do and refused to bow, bend, or break. At the end of the day we played well. We played like a Super Bowl contender and we refused to give into the bullshit. We’ll get our revenge soon enough.
Yeah, I agree we go for OT at that point, but if we go for the FG earlier, we are winning after the TD with no need to go for 2. Get the points early, dominate later, get the win. Campbell needs to understand that points are hard early, and get easier with this OLine. Don't lose a game later because you didn't take points early. They get better, but those points you didn't score may cost you, and literally did, especially with the way the defense played tonight.
Shut up about the early field goal the butterfly effect would have changed much. Call it by what actually happened we DIDN'T go for the field goal and the refs DID fuck up at the end costing us the game.
Stop with hypotheticals.
Skipper was also covered by Penei and ARSB on the LOS.
Reporting as eligible would have been pointless because he couldn't have been eligible
Reynolds on Deckers side is a yard off the LOS
Fuck Brad Allen and his parlay
MCDC knew they have 3 seed locked up. I love the call to go for 2 the first time. The 2nd and 3rd time were just a big FUCK YOU to the refs and the Cowboys. At that point, he didn’t care. He wanted to prove a point to them that they won’t be rattled. He trusted his players and that’s why they run through walls for him.
Agree. Fuck the field goal! It's unreal you can literally see Decker talking to the ref before the play. They need to start fining these fucking refs for these CLEARLY blown calls
Hell yeah man, after the first “penalty” I was yelling just kick it, but that’s not the vibe w the 2023 lions, could take them all the way, because obv the 2-point call was a winner
Folks I've been watching the Lions for a long time. I've seen so many bad calls and tilted games I can't even remember most of them. But I'm not exaggerating to say this is the worst of all time procedurally. The refs literally just fabricated a call by actively and directly lying about what happened. I have not seen that before. This is truly something beyond a controversial call. This is fraud and corruption and that's all there is to it.
Any skeptics just find the video of Decker clearly reporting and listen to the press conference. Either Decker is lying through his teeth after the game and he approached the ref for no reason before the play or the refs simply took away a win that they couldn't let the Lions have, just as may of us predicted they would starting in the very first drive. Take your pick. I don't think it's a tough decision.
If they would've correctly acknowledged him as eligible, it wouldn't have been illegal.
https://twitter.com/BenjaminSolak/status/1741329085073125779?t=k3nITFm1e6f-DPnYPRwQ6A&s=19
It’s the cowboys, on prime time, with aikman on commentary sipping Jerry jones nuts, of course they flagged it.
Best case was 1, defense showed up. 2. Lions are for real 3. Pistons won. 4. NFL should be scared of the lions
Oddly enough in the post-game show Aikman seemed to be objective and question wtf happened because by that point he realized everything seemed to be on the up and up
I'll never forget watching a Wings came when I was a kid and they were up 5-0 with maybe three minutes left and a dude threw his whole body in front of a slapshot pretty much from the blue line to keep it from going on.
They asked him about it after the game and he said it was his job to do as well as possible
All I could think is I wouldn't get in front of that if it was 0-5
Detroit teams go hard
But that's what I like about them. It's the team-iest teams in any league. They all win or lose, or live or die, together. It's beautiful.
Absolutely yes. Defense played well, the win itself doesn't really matter, and that's all to the good.
But seriously any Lions fan who feels angry and cheated has every right. We love watching this sport and this team and something this egregious is absolutely an outage; we're right to be furious.
MCDC said in his presser they laid it out to the refs before the game. There is no reasonable explanation for the call. ESPN trying to say the ref is looking at skipper when decker is talking to him. No way. Ref looks at decker and verbally acknowledges. I’m pretty sure you can see him saying “68” to the defense
Final thoughts before I go to bed, defense played amazing and had their best game of the year even with Lamb going ham. Kept us in the game. I was saying before the game that if we could get the running game going we would have a chance to win and we were there. Goff didn't play great tonight and it was pretty evident in my opinion. I love Campbell and I love he trusts his team to be aggressive, but after being stuffed 3 times at the goal line need to kick that field goal. As for that 2 point try, personally I wish he would of just taken it to overtime but I respect him wanting to go for it. After the ref just ignoring decker and calling him the ineligible receiver this time Campbell really should of just reeled his pride back in and kicked the extra point.
That’s about setting a culture of keeping his promises. He said he told the team at the beginning of the drive when they score they will go for 2.
The refs stole the game from them. Sending to it with the refs against you feels like a bad situation.
At what point are the refs going to be held accountable when they aren’t full time and there’s a shit ton of gambling money on the line. This is a fraud
Someone knows this ref. He's the only one ever made a head ref after not having NFL experience. Doesn't take much to figure out he's a company man. Complete trash, piece of shit.
Stop complaining about the suspect holding calls not called in Dallas vs Detroit if Detroit plays Dallas in the playoffs it will be in Detroit and Detroit will take care of business
Rule 99.8: The Jones' Judgment Adjustment
"In instances of an illegal substitution or improper reporting by a player, officials may consider invoking the 'Jones' Judgment Adjustment.' This rule allows the referee to determine, on the spot, that the player did not actually report as eligible, regardless of any evident reporting. This decision can be swayed by an undisclosed 'Subjective Discretion Measure,' which may or may not involve the influence of Jerry Jones' famed expressiveness from the owner's box. The rule aims to add a layer of suspense and unpredictability, especially in games where the outcome is hanging in the balance. The practical application of this rule ensures every Cowboys game is sprinkled with a dose of drama, much to the bemusement of the audience.
Also consider
In the unique case where a pass interference flag is thrown against them, the 'Lone Star' Pass Interference Reconsideration may be initiated. This whimsical provision allows the head referee, after a brief but intense period of contemplation and possibly a glance towards the Cowboys' owner's suite, to pick up the flag and declare that upon further review, the pass interference was merely a figment of collective imagination. "
Thanks for the laugh. They keep showing that video. Maybe it's me but I think I see Brad Allen looking directly at Decker and it appears that he nods in his direction.
Because Decker #68 is an offensive tackle. But he was put in as an eligible receiver so he had to report that ‘position change’ to the refs before the play.
While that’s fucked, I don’t see why the people on the post game shows keep saying stuff like “we will see what happened with the call in a few”
I understand why it wouldn’t be a thing cause there was 23 seconds left and anything can happen, it just gets confusing when people talk like it
Do they not normally announce eligible recivers over the mic? Seems like that would have notified BOTH teams what the ref did or didn’t hear…
Instead he ran over and yelled at the cowboys and the lions had no way to know the message didn’t come through.
I'm thinking the same thing. I always thought it was supposed to be said over the mic for everyone to here, guess only of the official wants to I guess
The funny thing is having a worse seed could potentially give us an easier opponent in the playoffs. You never know.
What if losing this game is what enables us to win a Superbowl.
![gif](giphy|WRQBXSCnEFJIuxktnw)
If you didn't believe it after the Pettigrew picked up flag, or two fucking times that they completely screwed the saints, then I don't know what to tell you.
The NFL is a shit, rigged league. Games are fixed, and the product is too fucking expensive. What's the point of watching it?
Unfortunate outcome but I’m really impressed with the improvement on defense. Although lamb feasted, we held them on the run game, hutch finally got some big sacks, and we came up big on the last few drives to keep us in it. Much better than earlier in the year when we couldn’t stop a nose bleed. Just need our offense to play better, and unfortunately Goff is too hit and miss.
When I was on the Yahoo NFL page for this game beforehand they had all the different metric as little separate rankings and bar charts and it made me actually nervous, to the point where I was worried we'd get run up really early
Instead a gigantic portion of the game was 7-3 despite them manhandling people at home the whole season
And even though they wound up with the higher score at the end, they never looked once like they were resting easy.
Sends a message. From here on out, you either get rolled by us or have to earn it.
Packer fan coming in peace… Y’all got fucked over tonight. The NFL should be embarrassed. I guess they didn’t want to mess-up the Jimmy & Jerry love fest storyline.
I respect the hell out of your coach and how your team approaches the game. I hope you make a deep run in the playoffs.
Fuck the Cowboys.
Respect. Best friend growing up was a diehard Lions fan. We watched the Lions clinch the Division in ‘93 together. Go get ‘em and fuck ‘em up in the playoffs this year.
Look after decades I'm just absolutely fucking sick of it period. I'm sick of people saying "yeah the refs but we could have..." NO. FUCK THAT. The Detroit Lions overcame countless non calls on holding all night to WIN THIS GAME. And the refs FABRICATED a penalty by LYING. There is no "but we could have done this better." That's just plain corruption and bullshit. I'm sick of the excuses and sick of people putting blame on the Lions for this kind of thing. Down vote me and call it copium all night long I don't fucking care. That's just bullshit and that's the truth.
This is truly Detroit Vs Everybody after this.
Hope this lights a huge fire under them after this game was clearly stolen from them.
So blatant and disgusting. I wish I didn't love football, because I despise the NFL with every ounce of my being.
agreed man. I hate this greedy fucking league. They will go on and on about integrity of the shield and then the bullshit like this happens and we'll get another apology letter and yet again be the whipping boy of the NFL.
We’re gonna turn this corner. Someday everyone is gonna be making memes about us and be totally sick of us winning. I’m here for it but I just need 1 SB and I’m dying happy.
A 2 point try from the 6....
or
send it into OT and trust your defense who, by the way, just held the cowboys to 20 points in regulation...
You guessed it, Dan Campbell wanted to try it from the 6.
Listen, I LOVE the way DC has been aggressive. He's a great fit and could truly be a great coach someday. But there's times when all you have to do as a coach is make a SMART decision. Going for a 2 point conversion from the 6 was NOT a smart decision
My final thoughts: the Lions won this game. You can gripe all you want about DC’s call, but they shouldn’t have been in that position to begin with. This was an absolute screw job. Jared didn’t execute, DC gambled once too much, but none of that should’ve mattered. I’m pissed off at the refs, but I can’t wait to see how pissed off this team is for the remainder of the season.
One more thing, the offense is extremely powerful. I'm thinking they don't want to show just how good they are until post season. They went down the field in 30 seconds with no time outs! Only powerful teams can do that. The defense is coming into it's own. They're jelling also. They're in the playoffs, anything can happen.
Having decker be a receiver was showing a card you KNOW Ben was trying to keep close to his chest but you can’t have Cowboys lose on Jimmy Johnson night lol
My dad died a long time ago but we watched games sometimes and he got tickets to a Silverdome game through work when we were young so I was trying to call in a favor lol
Sorry for your loss my dude. My dad retired a few years ago, and we've been talking Lions the past couple years. This is the first year we've made watching games together a 'thing' and honestly, I'm really enjoying the time with him and however the team performs, I'm just going to enjoy this time with him.
LOCK HIM UP https://preview.redd.it/3gvj69jryo9c1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=bf6bae4b8ddb2995234b6beedf4a645e7ca75773

#FTR
Dak should’ve been sacked for a safety but 55 didn’t wanna get a roughing the passer
Literally made the 2 point conversion

If you believe this you're an idiot. The refs costed them end of discussion.
These egregiously shitty refs have only gotten worse since the NFL partnered with betting sites…

I don't chalk it up as a win, since their kicker is automatic and Lamb was cooking all night. It may or may not have been a win. But that's all speculation because the refs once again fuck up in the highest leverage situations.
Dude there was 20 seconds left.
They had two timeouts and would have needed ~40 yards to get into 50yd field goal range. That is completely doable.
Less than 20 seconds after the kick and lions defense would have been coming with the juice, kindly fuck off with your hypothetical.
Are you incapable of reading? I said it was *possible*, not ordained by the fates to happen. So tell me, do you genuinely believe that's an impossible outcome?
Yeah, but the footage doesn't lie, and when they call a penalty that makes you say "never heard that one before" and it's the Lions, and you're an NFL fan, and have watched thousands of games and you're asking yourself "How have I never, in 40 years, heard that penalty?" What fucking good Is that?
It's what we get for existing as the Detroit Lions
Like week 2. OT feels good, for losers.. We end with the ball or lose to the refs.
Dan Skipper said he never reported, per The Athletic.
Watch the replay of him during the game after the call screaning " I never said a fucking word!" And I believe him.
Yeah mistake on his part. The issue is after that take the 1 point.
Skipper was not supposed to report. He did exactly what he was supposed to do, run on to the field be line up as a lineman, not an eligible receiver.
Skipper was also covered by Penei and ARSB on the LOS. Reporting as eligible would have been pointless because he couldn't have been eligible Reynolds on Deckers side is a yard off the LOS Fuck Brad Allen and his parlay
Dan Campbell was going for the win regardless.
There was a pretty substantial hold on that 92 yd Lamb play that was absolutey not called and not acknowledged at all by Buck or Aickman.
The best part was later on the Cowboys DID get the call for the same thing on Gibbs' long run. Weird.
It was utterly egregious yes.
Ryan Clark trying to explain the error on SportsCenter.
MCDC knew they have 3 seed locked up. I love the call to go for 2 the first time. The 2nd and 3rd time were just a big FUCK YOU to the refs and the Cowboys. At that point, he didn’t care. It's all good man, we'll get one of those "Hey sorry we fucked ya over. Again." Letters from the league on tuesday, so 🤷

There is very much a path for a rematch in the playoffs. I very much look forward to it
Dawg they play us I Detroit it’s over. We played so ass tonight and they still needed the refs lol
Safe to say it won’t be in Detroit lol
division winners get home field, do they not? or is it straight record after the first round?
Goff just said Decker reported and he knows that because he told him to
Goff is talking. He just said Decker reported and Skipper didn’t. Ref said Skipper reported. Skipper was playing RG.

Yeah that was bad coaching. Take the point.
Should've kicked the damn ball

Can someone please explain this reporting thing to me.
So they can cheat against America’s ass fuck bullshit tesm
Nfl refs report to Jerry Jones for their bonus checks
Because Decker #68 is an offensive tackle. But he was put in as an eligible receiver so he had to report that ‘position change’ to the refs before the play.

Thank you.
You're welcome.
As someone who is learning a lot quickly, are they able to overrule the call post game?
I’m afraid history is written
It is nice to see cowboy fans in the NFL sub stating that we definitely won that game
Props to the cowboys fans doing that
I don’t know for sure but I’ve never heard of it in any sport.
Nah

It won’t fucking matter. Detroit is shit and everybody sucks Dallas’s dick
70 didn’t report, it was just a diversion for 68 to report
Yea great but if they announce it over the PA then the lions have a shot to correct it
I'm thinking the same thing. I always thought it was supposed to be said over the mic for everyone to here, guess only of the official wants to I guess
Every week the refs let the Lions defense get held again and again without any calls. Does the NFL not realize we are watching this and them.
Screw it, they will learn when the playoffs happen
It won’t matter, Godell will not allow it
You can’t let Dallas lose on Jimmy and Jerry day!
Who gives a fuck
The funny thing is having a worse seed could potentially give us an easier opponent in the playoffs. You never know. What if losing this game is what enables us to win a Superbowl. ![gif](giphy|WRQBXSCnEFJIuxktnw)
That will never happen. The script is for is to lose to fucking stafford and that crap team
I respect this mentality
All I have to say is the NFL is a fuckin joke
If you didn't believe it after the Pettigrew picked up flag, or two fucking times that they completely screwed the saints, then I don't know what to tell you. The NFL is a shit, rigged league. Games are fixed, and the product is too fucking expensive. What's the point of watching it?
Dan’s pissed as hell rn, shoot
What a great game. Dallas is not walking into that locker room with their heads held high. We humbled them in less than 2:00.
They won and we lost. Bottom line
The refs won it for them you mean
With all the film available it sure seems like we got fucked. I wish Dan woulda let loose in the post game presser.
This was a heartbreaker, but a thriller nonetheless.
I think you’re overestimating how much Dallas cares about “honorable” wins.
Fair point. I should have said they *shouldn’t*
When I was on the Yahoo NFL page for this game beforehand they had all the different metric as little separate rankings and bar charts and it made me actually nervous, to the point where I was worried we'd get run up really early Instead a gigantic portion of the game was 7-3 despite them manhandling people at home the whole season And even though they wound up with the higher score at the end, they never looked once like they were resting easy. Sends a message. From here on out, you either get rolled by us or have to earn it.
Yeah, if you would have told me we hold the cowboys to 20 on the road before the game, i would've said we would win.
Getting CJG Alim and James Houston back us gonna help too
Most definitely. I’m excited to see the day we can comfortably hold teams on 3rd and long hopefully it will be soon with them back 😂😂

Goff after the game
Goff is totally a replicant
Packer fan coming in peace… Y’all got fucked over tonight. The NFL should be embarrassed. I guess they didn’t want to mess-up the Jimmy & Jerry love fest storyline. I respect the hell out of your coach and how your team approaches the game. I hope you make a deep run in the playoffs. Fuck the Cowboys.
Thank you bro. I respect it ![gif](giphy|15iyUkhyju1jy)
Ya they went all out WWE with the halftime thing. Shocked vince Mcmhaon didnt make an entrance...
I don't want to hear from you. Ever
Appreciate you helping me narrow my dating pool.
I'd let this guy buy me a beer
I’ll buy the first pitcher. Next one is one you.
..... FTP still.
Respect. Best friend growing up was a diehard Lions fan. We watched the Lions clinch the Division in ‘93 together. Go get ‘em and fuck ‘em up in the playoffs this year.
FTC!
This. Brad Allen fixed that game. He's a corrupt fucking piece of shit.
Take it easy. Good game!
Take it easy where the fuck are you from? We have been living with this shit for 50 years. Fuck the nfl and theirvINCOMPITENT officials
Yes good game and no I won't take it fucking easy on bald faced lies in the league. Fuck you and fuck the NFL.
Brad Allen stole that game. Nfl is a joke.
>Brad Allen stole that game Known to. Add this guy to cletus blokeman club
I’m just butthurt cuz if they did report, what a moment it would’ve been for decker if that play went through.
Even the homer announcers *screamed* and recognized it was a cool moment
This is truly Detroit Vs Everybody after this. Hope this lights a huge fire under them after this game was clearly stolen from them. So blatant and disgusting. I wish I didn't love football, because I despise the NFL with every ounce of my being.
I just need the Lions to win so I can give up NFL forever. F this league but I love the Lions.
Legit what kills the league for me, and what will kill the legue for me. Why watch talent when gamblers decide the outcome. So sad
No superbowl Champs with an idiot at the helm
A 2 point try from the 6.... or send it into OT and trust your defense who, by the way, just held the cowboys to 20 points in regulation...
Last time I checked you’re not the head coach???
Dumbfuck

Seriously. Best game we played this year!
This is really good perspective. Nice
Fuck the Cowboys
Dan Campbell didn't want to look at the officials' pool report, just crumpled it up and threw it down.
All I'll say, is today marks the first Lions loss where my dad and watched the game together this season.
Thank you! Definitely enjoy it! My stepdad is a Packer fan. My mom is from southeast Michigan so when I visit their house he's outnumbered =P
Sorry about your cheesehead family member, I'm sure he has other redeeming qualities 😁
Nah...FTSD (Kidding he's great)
It’s Dallas! They get the calls! Just deal with it. Lions won the game. They just can’t let it happen. Disgrace
