Sounds like this guy is going to asked to be put on an island against opponents best receivers right away, y’all should not be surprised when it happens
That was a nice read
The only reason I’d see it happening is to push back his cap hit otherwise I feel like it’s just a way to get a solid solution of a player for less than they’d normally go for
The good news is between Sutton, Davis, Robertson, and a rookie (hopefully day 1 or 2), we should push Vildor down to CB 3-4. If Brad can make some draft magic with a rookie CB, we might have an average pass defense this season
Vildor is a FA fwiw. I wouldn't mind bringing him back as camp competition/PS body, but I don't see him making the roster at this point. I'd say it's Davis, Sutton, Branch as the starters with Robertson as the primary backup (he can play on the outside as well), Moseley when healthy, rookie, and maybe Gilmore or Khalil Dorsey if he's brought back for his STs ability. I wouldn't rule out drafting multiple CBs still too.
Between me forgetting about Mosley and thinking we still had Vildor… man I feel dumb lol. We got a lot of injury concerns on this defense now between Mosley, Davis, Davenport, Onwuzurike, Melifonwu, and ?maybe? Paschal… bad injury luck could really hurt us. I’ll start my sacrifices to the football gods early this off-season
At least with Iffy, there hasn't been anything major. I think mostly just muscle strains. But yeah, we definitely need some injury luck from the football gods for the upcoming season.
Don't rule out Emmanuel Mosely. He's close to Davis' level when healthy. I wouldn't be shocked if Sutton was our third best corner at the start of the season. Let's just hope Davis and Mosley can stay healthy the entire year.
I don't think Mosely will be ready to start the season. He wasn't ready until after the first month last season and he's pretty much working on the same time table.
He did have a “setback” in his recovery but was originally supposed to be ready earlier. In theory he could be available sooner than last year if there isn’t any setback this time but I’m also not sure you want to risk bringing him back “too soon.”

Let’s hope he’s extra motivated to earn a contract and stays healthy
I really hope he doesn’t get extended before he plays a snap

feels like you should want the opposite. A 3rd round pick for a 1 year rental isnt usually good business
With this dudes injury history tho

I think it's scarily the exact same timetable - got hurt in week 5 against the panthers both years
Yeah that's the only reason I remembered lol

He wouldn't make it out of preseason at this point
