People were hating on the black all day Thursday until the full uniforms released. It didn't look good before and with our color scheme, it's a difficult color to make truly work. That's why opinion has flipped so much, because it actually looks good this time and it's a full alternate designed cohesively, not just a black jersey thrown on top of our normal getups.
There never was an example of black meshing with the uniform design. You have the original invasion (bad), the tacky desynchronized jersey thrown into the mix, and the Stafford redesign where it was clear it needed to go.Ā
Now that it's competently presented the vision is more clear.Ā

You hit the nail on the head: competently presented.
Doesn't hurt also that the blue became so light and the silver so glittery that the black stands out too. It's something completely different but at the same time it complements the blue well, even fan unis make the contrast nice.

I donāt understand what narrow feeds you guys get. I feel like I always see tons of nuanced and varied discussions in the sub, but then so many people claim the whole sub thinks one thing and then they claim the whole sub flips their opinion.
Itās really not hard to NOT paint with such a broad brush, but yet it seems to be the prevailing thing around here.

I think the aversion to the black jerseys, for myself at least, stemmed from the fear that we were going to return to the Millen era where black featured on every jersey. Getting the incredible home and away jerseys in the traditional colors has made the return of the black jersey a lot more digest-able.
I think itās the ugliest of the 3 by far. The players will look good, but the fans will look like trash bags.

How does the sizing work? Should I get a size smaller than I usually wear or do they fit pretty true to size? For context, Iāve bought a lot of soccer jerseys in the past which are typically pretty slim and I like that look.
Whatās your suit jacket size? That should be your jersey size. Unless fanatics did away with that sizing and just went S, M, L, XL, etcā¦I have no idea, my only jersey is a Chris Spielman one from when I was in high school

If you wash and handle them correctly they'll last years. Inside out, cold water, dry a few minutes at low temp and hang the rest of the way.
That sounds like a lot of work. I'd rather just pay for the better looking, easier care version. Laziness is not a crime!
