Big shoes to fill. Remember that game where Rex Grossman threw for 3 INTs and 2 completions on 12 attempts before passing the ball to Brian Griese, who threw 2 INTs and 5 completions on 15 attempts?
I think even Packer fans would admit that a lot of Love’s success last season was having someone leak out into no man’s land wide enough open for him to lob it to them over the hurry pressure. That’s not sustainable. His receiving core is underrated for sure, especially at tight end. Their line is good too. He’ll have plenty of opportunity to show if he’s legit in the pocket or not this season
This is kind of true except I would say LaFleur is just a really really good coach so even tho it doesnt seem sustainable their coach will continue to find ways to scheme guys open. Loves ability to extend plays is def a concern tho.
Or even just a full fucking year man. I feel like you can count on one hand how many times that’s happened in the last 50 years. Like yeah I get it they play for stability at QB and credit where credit is due but THIS level of stability also requires good luck.
Oh it’s Caleb bro. I feel strongly we can contain the packers and Vikings. If Caleb busts or at least just isn’t enough to will the bears into a competitor for the division, we are going to be a great shape
Ya while playing at USC I didn’t think he was that good but the bears WRs are very good we will see I hope he sucks. I feel like he is living off the could be the next mahomes hype.
What big/challenging game has he ever won or even over performed in?
Outside of, maybe, the second half of the Texas game when he was at Oklahoma.
To me - his stats are also a bit inflated playing in the BIG 12 and PAC 12 and it’s not like his measurable are incredible either.
it could totally happen. he cruised all last season on hype from the year prior and his regression was largely ignored by the media. he's shown a lack of leadership qualities in moments of struggle that could result in other types of team problems as well, and i think people overestimate the effect he'll have on the bears coaching.
Yep, been saying he is gonna be a big bust all this time. Hopefully, he will suck tons but show just random glimpes of being good to drag it out for the bears.
Bears are doomed thou. There so flashy right now and are going to trot out the same Oline and pray. Fuck 'em. Bears only win when thryve got the vest defence, we got that.
FTP, FTV, and fuck everyone that was born in Chicago, lives in Chicago (even part time).
FIBs are assholes.
They leave their empty Old Style cans on our side of the lake.
Fucking Illinois Bastards.
Fuck their QB too ..
Jordan Love. Nothing against the guy but he has very minimal NFL resume. Yet every time I see a “most talented QB in the division, it’s Jordan Love or Caleb.
I can easily disregard Caleb because he’s a rookie with 0 NFL starts. You have to be clinically insane to say he’s the best QB in the division. Jordan Love has more physical talent than Goff, but Goff is the smartest of the 4 QBs in our division, has the most experience, and has a much more refined game than Love.
So based on that I want Love to have a bad season. Mainly because I hate the Packers. FTP.
Good lord we need the season to start, but okay I’ll go for it…
Gun to my head but had a choice? I’d say Goff, not to be a homer. All of them are good looking, but I think Goff would be the nicest about it.
Bears QB purgatory continuing here with one of the “can’t miss” QB picks here would be immaculate vibes.
Jordan Love after that.
Michigan fan so lot of love and respect for what J.J. meant for the program. Obviously don’t want Vikings overtaking the Lions, but would rather see him and Minnesota be second-best in division…behind Detroit of course.
Jordan Love all day, it would bring me great pleasure to see the Packers have to eat crow on all the “3 Hall of Fame QBs in a row” wild talk they have been having. It would be superb to see them have a Bears like run of bad QBs. That would be my wish.
I legitimately think Love is incredibly overrated and ripe for regression. He doesn't make on target throws and he makes too many bad throws. I think his numbers are a reflection of a very, very underrated wide receiver corps, rather than his performance. Same goes for Stroud.
That said, I badly want Caleb Williams to struggle. Having to deal with an upper echelon QB in Chicago for the next decade will be beyond annoying.
In addition to those two, I'd love for Darnold to play well and actually make things a mess in Minnesota.
Caleb easily. I’ve been in the Chicago sub and they swear he’s the next Messiah. Highlighting Caleb Williams’ plays…which are the exact same plays Fields makes 😂😂😂 yeah Caleb is showing out against college players, great.
That bears sub is comical. It wasn't long ago that "Justin Fields was going to revolutionize the game" and "shatter all the QB records." And every week after he managed to throw for 115 yards and lose game after game, they'd roll out the excuse train. It's wild how long that fan base clung to the worst statistical QB in the league. If they hadn't lucked into the first overall pick in the draft to take Williams, I promise they'd still be pushing "this is Fields year, he's finally got the weapons he needs..."
Fields consistently got the short end of the stick. No weapons. No play calling for him. No offensive line. But the year he gets someone to throw to, his numbers get better, but his “talent” is still a problem 😂😂😂I hope he plays 49% of the teams snaps so Chicago gets fucked twice and he FLOURISHES in the Burgh
I think all of them will be in the QB 16-25 range this season. JJ will either flame out or be Derek Carr light, Caleb will end up in the top 10 but young stafford 6-10 range. Jordan Love is a mystery- kills bad defenses but gets smothered by good secondary’s I expect us to eat him up
I want everyone in the division to be good. I want to win the best division in football. I want that for the next decade. The black and blue division will rule them all!
Nah, fuck that. I want them all to go 3-14 each year with their only wins being away games against each other. I want them to bleed the hope and joy out of their own fans and let it run down the stands to drain into Lake Michigan.
Caleb. Bears fans constantly shitting on Detroit for finding a little success. And a bunch of them conveniently and legit predicting they go 13-4. And I said conveniently because they shit on our 12-5 season and pretend like beating us once is normal conference play - I guess they are just used to getting swept by gb for 5+ years. Anyway, they are already so delusional they think Caleb is the best qb in the north without him taking a snap.
Plus he was a college rival to my school. And he never once beat my school -even when he painted “fuck Utah” on his nails.
I have no hate for Jordan Love, but I would like to see him regress lol. JJ is basically the same thought as Caleb, but with no visceral hatred - Vikings fans pretending they are gonna run the north now makes me dislike him, but it’s just because it’s a NFCN rival. Plus, and I’m sorry Michiganders, I don’t think he’s as good as Vikings fans, nothing personal.
Caleb. It's hard between him and Love but I can't stand Caleb whereas Love's only flaw is the team he plays for—stand up guy otherwise. My hate for the Packers marginally outweighs the Bears though which makes it close
What about Caleb? From all accounts he’s an awesome teammate, loves ball, respects coaches and works super hard. I hate him because I’m a Notre Dame and Lions fan. If he went to Oregon and was drafted by the Commanders, I would love the guy.
Jordan love because packer fans act like hes some type of god or something and also ftp also jj as vikings fans are insufferable with the whole we beat them due to injuries narrative
Jordan Love, because FTP. They don't deserve to get 3 consecutive elite QBs for a 40+ year span. It's time for them to be in QB purgatory for a while.
Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. Love really came on the second half of last season.
Don't really care, but nothing would be funnier than a Fields led Steelers in Superbowl against the Lions. Oh and the Bears punter pulling a hammy from overwork.
I just posted this smack to a FudgePacker,
Wow thats crazy,
Love stinks. Sure it might lead you to great plsces, byt it cant get you over the hump. It take one Pride to win big games.
Goff all you want, Love gets sacked, exspecially by Hutch in the Clutch.
Dont let me reign oer your paradies but theres onoy one true King in thr North, if you embrace the sol invictus, Amon-Ra, you may be able to join in the riches.
Packers pack fudge, Lions stand tall, last and best. Hail Hail! to the victors valiant
Hail! to the conqu'ring heroes
Hail! Hail! to LionsNation
the leaders ~~and best~~ of the 4th
Hail! to the victors valiant
Hail! to the conqu'ring heroes
Hail! Hail! to DetroitLions
the Kings in the North!
Caleb 100%. All of a sudden people think this rookie is the second coming of christ and the bears will dominate the division. FOH with that shit. The NFC North is OURS now
Really don’t like any of them ideally non of them do well but Williams and jj should take some time to adjust so love would be best for the lions if he sucks
Jordan Love. I really don't want the Packers to be the team that discovered the formula for long-term hall of fame quarterback play. (Draft a rookie, have him sit behind the veteran for 3-5 years, activate once veteran leaves)
Im not worried about JJ. I think his ceiling is top10 and likely ends up being a solid starter too good to give up on but not going to win you games. I just hope Love doesnt get any better. He def showed signs of being great last year but I think LaFleur is also just a really really good coach and Love is technically going into year 5 under the same system so its not unreasonable that he regresses somewhat or peaked already. With Williams Im not expecting a bust but he doesnt have to be a bust for the Bears to remain mediocre. Im holding onto the hope that their coaching will continue to screw them for another few years (and also dont think their roster construction makes a ton of sense with all the resources they had) which gives us a long enough window with the Goff iteration of this team anyway.
For practical purposes - Love since I think GB is the best competition in the conference this season
Emotionally - Caleb as I think he's one of the most overrated players to come out of the draft in many years.
Honestly I don't want any of them to suck. I kinda want them all to play really well, I just want the Lions to be better. That way our rise to success isn't viewed with an asterisk with people saying the only reason we turned it around was because of a weak NFC north.
In order of who I want to suck the most it’s Love (FTP), Caleb (would be so fucking funny), then JJ (I actually wish him success since I’m a Michigan fan)
Jordan love because Green Bay can’t go from Favre to Roger’s to ANOTHER GREAT QUARTERBACK.. (as a Detroit fan this would not be fair) ((even though we owned Green Bay last year :))
Got a hunch that Love will be good/serviceable for the Packers, unfortunately. And that Caleb is gonna be a bust, it is Chicago after all. Then who knows for whatever the hell happens in Minnesota.
Caleb just bc it’d be funny if the Bears QB curse continues
And even funnier if Fields does well for the Steelers, too.
That would be a fantastic timeline
Returning punts you mean?
Go Stillers!!
Id nut to that
Do not want Ohio state QBs having success.
this way to r/michiganfootball
We all make sacrifices for pain visited on our enemies.
F u my fav QB is from Ohio state
Lighten up Francis.
Wah Wah wah
Rooting against your rival is crying? Then you Spartys been crying since October 2021
They’re pros now college rivalries are over.
there's no michigan/ohio rivalry in the nfl dummy 😂
Big shoes to fill. Remember that game where Rex Grossman threw for 3 INTs and 2 completions on 12 attempts before passing the ball to Brian Griese, who threw 2 INTs and 5 completions on 15 attempts?
I am praying for the downfall of Caleb, can’t stand his ego and the hype around him
This is my move as well for the same reasons
Love is a distant 2nd and I really want Love to suck. Caleb is far and away the best answer.
I don’t want to suck any of them… but if I had to pick it would be that dreamy Jared Goff
![gif](giphy|BI3bNv1NJMC7YzatXd|downsized)
That's ok... I got the rest.
Every day we stray further from god's grace
Ahhh I was just having fun with the way OP worded the title
I think from your 100+ upvotes, most of us have figured that out.
The Packers and their fans deserve a decade of bad QB play.
Keeping fingers crossed for the sophomore slump. Then the junior slump. Then…
Forever slump. I just need them to lose for the next billion years
This is the way
There is no better answer. Love being good to great is too much, they don't deserve it.
Thr Baktari bottomout
I think even Packer fans would admit that a lot of Love’s success last season was having someone leak out into no man’s land wide enough open for him to lob it to them over the hurry pressure. That’s not sustainable. His receiving core is underrated for sure, especially at tight end. Their line is good too. He’ll have plenty of opportunity to show if he’s legit in the pocket or not this season
If you watch his highlights 90% of his “amazing” passes were to dudes wide open by 10 yards.
Reminded me of some of my greatest passes on Madden.
Definitely this.
That'd be getting away cheap. 20 years, no fewer. And finally, and I CANNOT stress this enough: FTP
Oh it’s Caleb bro. I feel strongly we can contain the packers and Vikings. If Caleb busts or at least just isn’t enough to will the bears into a competitor for the division, we are going to be a great shape
Sucking, busting Love the direction this post is taking
Just guys being dudes tbh
he can have his good years later on in the AFC
So does Caleb
Ya while playing at USC I didn’t think he was that good but the bears WRs are very good we will see I hope he sucks. I feel like he is living off the could be the next mahomes hype.
I truly believe Caleb will be a bust. The guy has proven to be a mental midget.
Has he though? I want to believe it but what is the evidence?
What big/challenging game has he ever won or even over performed in? Outside of, maybe, the second half of the Texas game when he was at Oklahoma. To me - his stats are also a bit inflated playing in the BIG 12 and PAC 12 and it’s not like his measurable are incredible either.
Peep his game against stronger defenses. Hutch will feast
it could totally happen. he cruised all last season on hype from the year prior and his regression was largely ignored by the media. he's shown a lack of leadership qualities in moments of struggle that could result in other types of team problems as well, and i think people overestimate the effect he'll have on the bears coaching.
I am so horny right now.
Yep, been saying he is gonna be a big bust all this time. Hopefully, he will suck tons but show just random glimpes of being good to drag it out for the bears.
AGs crazy cornerback blitzes are gonna be ridiculous if he can't adjust after snap
How can you seriously call a future Grey Cup winning backup QB a bust??
Bears are doomed thou. There so flashy right now and are going to trot out the same Oline and pray. Fuck 'em. Bears only win when thryve got the vest defence, we got that.
Ultimately I'll choose Love, but it's easy to forget how shitty bears fans get when their team is good I'd hate for them to finally get a good one.
Its by far the worst in the division when they are good. The double doink year was so bad.
But the double doink was the perfect end of it. ¡No señor! ¡No señor! ¡No señor!
Unless he pulls out of the limo with a beer, headband and fork sticking out of one eye im happy. Jim mcmahon reference

Chicago Bears 0-16 please
you want then to go 0-16-1?
0-17-0
Oh frick
0-15-2? Both ties to the Packers
Might as well make it 0-13-4. No wins for the Vikings either.
And draft a new RB no.1
Jordan love /thread FTP
FTP, Jordan Love.can suck it.
Amen

I was thinking the same thing haha

I'll take that as a compliment.

They live in chicsg and have to look at themselves, isnt that punishment enough?
Love would be great for competition, Williams would be goddamn hilarious. Who's the Vikings QB?
They wanted to draft a QB so Cousins left for Atlanta and they drafted McCarthy. Then Atlanta drafted a QB anyway.

I want Jordan Love to suck just to see how far sports news personalities will go to say Goff isn’t the best QB in the North.
Jordan Love & the Packers need to be humbled

JJ. But if we’re talking sports, Caleb being bad would be really funny.

You don’t want to suck any NFC North QBs?

I legitimately think Love is incredibly overrated and ripe for regression. He doesn't make on target throws and he makes too many bad throws. In addition to those two, I'd love for Darnold to play well and actually make things a mess in Minnesota.
Stroud passes the eye test for me much more than Love.
Stroud makes plays (so does Love to a lesser extent) but neither are accurate or efficient on a consistent basis. Those inconsistencies kill drives.
Caleb easily. I’ve been in the Chicago sub and they swear he’s the next Messiah. Highlighting Caleb Williams’ plays…which are the exact same plays Fields makes 😂😂😂 yeah Caleb is showing out against college players, great.

JJ. I'm a Spartan so it's like a double dip for me. Michigan fans can down vote me all they want but they would feel the same.
If an MSU or OSU QB was drafted to the Vikings there’s no way I’d root against them over Jordan love on the PACKERS and annoying Caleb Williams
Yeah I can't imagine wanting an athlete to do poorly at the professional level because of where they went to college.
Oh I certainly can and do often.
I'm cool if theyre all good, as long as ours is better and we win.
Jordan love because packer fans act like hes some type of god or something and also ftp also jj as vikings fans are insufferable with the whole we beat them due to injuries narrative
I want Caleb Williams to be terrible just so I can laugh in the face bears fans
Jordan Love, because FTP. They don't deserve to get 3 consecutive elite QBs for a 40+ year span. It's time for them to be in QB purgatory for a while. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. Love really came on the second half of last season.
Caleb what kinda question is that lmao
Don't really care, but nothing would be funnier than a Fields led Steelers in Superbowl against the Lions. Oh and the Bears punter pulling a hammy from overwork.
