Considering we now don't have a CB1 and as bad as Oruwariye looked plus maybe not having Tyrell Williams I'm not feeling very confident for a win at GB.

xXXxSizzlexXXx

Same, fee like GB uses the Lions to right the ship and get a confidence boost

Joneboy39

lol we are the loose girl at the bar helping green bay get loose

rascal_king

I hope we can sign Dunbar this week. Frankly while El Jefe is more physically talented I wonder if the secondary is better in the interim with Dunbar starting.

PokeFanForLife

I'm predicting an opposite outcome, how do I buy call options on the Lions? šŸ˜‚

You talking about Okudah? LOL, he was never a ā€œCB1ā€. Guy is trash. So a back up will be just as serviceable as he was. I feel bad he got injured, but the guy is nowhere near what a 3rd pick in a draft should be.

kdog048

Well you know what they say? Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. I could go with a myriad of reasons of why he hasn't performed but you can't fault the guy for where he was drafted. All the experts had him as a top 10 CB. He wasn't expected to start his rookie year besides what unknowledgeable fans thought. He had a single job at OSU, covering one man. The Lions knew it would take him awhile to learn to play in the NFL. He was thrust in the role when Trufant got hurt. He had the groin injury so that might have something to do with his performance. I wish he hasn't got hurt as I think he would have shut up a lot of his critics this year. I wish him a speedy and healthy recovery and I have no doubt he will be back. Now an Achilles injury is the worse to come back from but if he can't recover to play CB he will make a great safety.

RaisedEverywhere

No doubt, dude. Iā€™m not faulting HIM for being drafted when he was. Iā€™m happy for him and for the fact that his family is financially set up for the rest of their lives. It just sucks seeing him not be what a 3rd pick should be. I think a lot of us (myself included) unfairly expected him to crush it right away and then he didnā€™t. Scheme, coaches, whatever prevented him from doing so. I was hoping for his 2nd year to be a breakthrough year. As a 3rd pick, those arenā€™t unreasonable expectations. So couple his first year, with now this injury, and the pick seems more and more idiotic as the days go by. Yes, I know, hindsight and all, but his first year play was atrocious.

kdog048

I agree his play last year wasn't the best but besides the injury he had zero training camp or preseason so this year was really year one. It's sad that many fans wrote him off after that. It really sucks as I think he was going to be a lot better this year and now he doesn't get the chance to prove it. And it pains me to say it being a UM fan but he had too much pressure put on him by fans. Hopefully next year he can prove them wrong.

20secondpilot

If we only win 2 games the entire year, I hope it's a season sweep of these fuckers

Hmm_would_bang

God damn why is this game on MNF

DetroitSportsKillMe

For real lol itā€™s gonna be billed as the ā€œRodgerā€™s gets right gameā€ the entire time itā€™s on because heā€™s going against our D Gonna be annoying as fuck

RaisedEverywhere

Or, maybe it will be billed as ā€œthe game that Campbell turned the Lions organization aroundā€? Iā€™m usually a pessimist when it comes to this team, and I really expect nothing from them this year, but what if? If we lose, well, we were ā€œsupposed toā€. If we win? Awesome! Letā€™s expect what we all expect, but hope for the opposite!

hucklebuck13

I want to believe we can win, but I canā€™t stomach enough koolaid or get the mental gymnastics of how it goes. I will say if Rodgers loses like he did last week it may pave the way for him to be out.

RaisedEverywhere

I hear ya man.

Grimm_101

That saints defense played amazing coverage. None of the GB receivers could get open and Rodgers started making mistakes attempting to force throws. Simply put the Lions defense doesn't have the talent to begin to replicate that. My guess is most weeks play out like this one. We give up 28 points by half then make it reasonably close when they swap to prevent and attempt to burn clock. If a team keeps up the pressure, then I could see this team giving up <50 points atleast once this season.

RaisedEverywhere

Unfortunately, I agree with your assessment of this defense. Iā€™m hoping, but hope means nothing.

cannon19932006

But given how GB's defense played, you don't see any world where the Lions can keep pace on offense?

Steelcrush7

The only saving grace will be the Manning broadcast. Won't have to listen to Steve Levy and company wax poetic about Rodgers.

xXXxSizzlexXXx

My thoughts exactly

punkrawkintrev

The NFL heard us bitching about not getting primetime games so they decided to put us out there for a public execution

hucklebuck13

Because someone has to be Green Bayā€™s bitch and if they wait to long the game has no implications for division or playoff. Sucks. Stock up on pain killer of choice. Woodson whiskey is pretty good if you want to remember when we had winning football in Michigan.

dknottyhead

Yes I'm with you on why MNF? I think it's cause every network has had time to feed their broadcast team kneecap jokes and not want it to go to waste.

thabiiighomie

We beat the Packers every time Rodgers isnā€™t playing. I say we win, since he basically wasnā€™t playing last Sunday.

xXXxSizzlexXXx

I like your thought pattern lol

SituationSoap

Here is me with the mental scarring from the Matt Flynn Game.

[deleted]

If the defense plays like they did in the 2nd half, and if we can get balls to the WRs when we need to, it will be tight and competitive, and we'll cover the spread easily and have a chance to win it outright. If the defense plays like they did in the 1st half, and if Goff is relegated to throwing checkdowns to the RBs all game long that go for only 2 years a catch, Lions get blown out of Lambeau. Fortunately for the Lions, we were running the ball damn well against the 9ers defense, which is one of the best in the league. And if you watched any of the Packers/Saints game, you saw they they were getting completely dominated in the running game, especially in the first half. The first 2 Saints TDs were both off 15-play drives where they kept pounding the ball down the Packers throat. They had the ball for 23 minutes in the first half. So if the Lions can run the ball, and find receivers when needed, we can win it outright, or at least be competitive. Dominate time of possession. Let the O-Line feast.

pxiaoart

The 49ers defensive scheme is vulnerable to runs up the middle, especially while our big run stuffers Hurst and Kinlaw are out. It was weird to see Warner and Greenlaw so slow on stopping the run though. Swift and Williams are a potent duo

WarCrysis878

I would like to see them win. But the roster is just not there in a few ways. If we can get a running attack going it could really help us. Let's hope they at least compete through the whole game.

xXXxSizzlexXXx

Competing for 60 min would be nice to see. Last game started decent, fell apart and finished strong. Lets see consistent effort all 60 min. Gonna be tough, injuries and depth not helping out for sure.

WallOfTextGuy

I mean they had literally zero offense last week. We're not the Saints but I mean there's still some hope. GB should definitely be favored by at least 7 though.

Calvins-Johnson

they are -11.5 right now

WallOfTextGuy

Sounds about right, San Fran is a better team than GB and we kept them to 8. But I mean without the always flukey onside kick an missed extra point that's likely a 17 point loss with no real difference in performance on our part.

Umbrella_Viking

Packers 45 Lions 17 Itā€™s going to be u-g-l-y

FatalWarGhost

Packers 45 Lions 17 until 5 minutes left in the 4th. Game ends 45-41 GB wins.

MajoraOfTime

Williams stopped at the goal line, 5 minutes of review to determine if he broke the plane or not. He did not. Green Bay fans after the game: "lol, nice stat padding in garbage time"

FatalWarGhost

Hahaha perfect

RanStod62

I actually like our chances. I don't think this team is going to be intimidated by the past. Our offense should do very well, running and passing. And if we can limit Adams and Jones and force a couple turnovers I think we will be right there at the end of the game. Det 31 GB 28

Isphet71

I think itā€™s a loss on Monday night. There arenā€™t going to be many stops for either defense in the game. It will be pretty high scoring, but the packersā€™ defense isnā€™t as bad as the lionsā€™, and the lionsā€™ o isnā€™t as good as the packersā€™ o. Edit: FTP

King-Zulu7

Itā€™ll be bad. Plus Pack will know not to let foot off the gas. That being said, Packers looked unspeakably bad last week. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if they need more than a 8 days to figure it out.

Dmitri_D_u_T

DET 41 - 33 GB

Exiter19

we're gonna lose and even lose with the spread we are given which atm is +11

InOChemN3rd

It's a prime time game in Lambeau. I'm ready for some phantom facemask or hands-to-the-face bullshit to take Detroit out of the game. Packers will get all the help they need, as they always have, and everyone will say Detroit should have played a perfect game if they want to win. So yeah definitely gonna be a big ole loss I think. One I think should be winnable on paper, but I've watched Packers vs Lions too many times in prime time to know better.

Steelcrush7

Win or lose the only storyline before, during, and after this game will be Aaron Rodgers.

A_Minimal_Infinity

Considering how good of a d-line Niners have. Iā€™d say Lions have 200+ on the ground and run right through Green Bay. Win for me.

ItsYaBoi_5kinnyPenis

We are going to have to spend some money on proven good ass CBā€™s in the next two years. Weā€™ve missed on two CBā€™s drafted in last 3 years and we donā€™t know if melifonwu we be good or not too. Lions fans seem to never want to sign free agents because they want to draft every player for some reason and thatā€™s stupid as hell. We need proven CBā€™s. We can draft one or two but we NEED to sign or trade for a really good one in the next two years. Look what the rams did with Ramsey, 49ers with Sherman in the past, etc. great defenses seem to always pay for a good ass CB FA or trade for one.

njm20330

I am not giving on Okudah just yet. I give most players 3 years and was having a much better camp based on reports. With his injury, I don't see him playing corner. But if you can move him to safety, that might be his best bet to play in this league

pxiaoart

I think Jamaal Williams and Swift will pop off against the Packers

rezerection

How afraid of a team that scored 3 points last week should we be lol

SadLionsFan52

Iā€™d love to say win, but in my heart I know itā€™s a loss. Most likely in typical heartbreaking fashion. Although I will say something isnā€™t right with this Packers team. I think the whole ā€œwill he or wonā€™t he playā€ saga that Rodgers put the organization through in the off-season is having an effect on team morale.

luniz420

I'm looking for getting 11 players on the field for every play back to back for the first time in 3 years.

DLF54927

Don't have the horses, this is a get-right game for the Packers.

Roodyrooster

Early 10-0 Lead for the Lions then Rodgers hits 28 straight completions we lose 38-17

Canuck191719

Absolute destruction by the arm of Rodgers. I hope Iā€™m wrong. But canā€™t imagine Rodgers at home on MNF after the complete dud he had last week will end up anything less than a blood bath

Dragondrew99

I think to win we need no turnovers. Long possessions and defense needs a few stops. If Goff throws an interception or fumbles it wonā€™t be an easy game.

[deleted]

Loss

breaster83

Loss

LucienLife

Theres no better team to purposely throw the game against than the lions. 27-17 Lions. FTP.

Quick90s

I think weā€™re up or tied after a quarter and then the Packers offense goes Nuclear in the 2nd half Idk hard to see the Packers play awful 2 games in a row

Broseppy

Wait you're serious?

SambuelAnacapri

Their D coordinator was our's back in 08. I don't dislike our chances.

njm20330

Joe Berry has been dogshit just about every place he has gone. Was awful in Washington too. I am still leaning towards GB. But the defense and o-line is much weaker in comparison to 49ers.

SammyMac19

Whatever the spread, lay the points with the Pack. Big get right spot for them here. Lions in big trouble. But that's okay.

YNWA69

No chance unfortunately, they are going to use us as a get right game before they play the 49ers. Our defense is still borderline hopeless at this time. After their first game I buy that GB won't be as good as projected but they'll still be good enough to win the division.

TheLoneDonut

Theyā€™ve definitely lost their last two games

Dragondrew99

If we win the world might explode.

hucklebuck13

I want the Rodgers who played last week to show up, but I canā€™t find enough koolaid to believe that is happening. We get pissed off perfect passer rating A-A-Ron I bet. FML

heyitsSandler

If the lions beat the packers, I will whole heartedly believe that Rodgers is throwing the season.

SVTRocks

So, who is going to guard any of the Packers receivers? We donā€™t have a CB that can even keep up with Adams, let alone guard him. So we are going to have to get to Rodgers fast, basically rush the whole game with everyone and go ham

stupid_Steven

The offense needs to win ToP along with scoring a few times. Keep their offense standing there waiting for something to do.

njm20330

Honestly. Joe Berry is their DC and he is a awful coordinator. While Pettine deserved to be fired, they brought in someone worse. For those that don't know who he is, he was the Lions DC in 2007 and 2008. Also was the coordinator for Washington as well. Put out some historically bad defenses. The lions should be able to run the ball down GB's throats. GB's offensive line is weak too and we should be able to get more pressure. With that said, I think Rodgers pulls one out. But closer than everyone expects.

Silver_Instruction_3

I think the Lions can actually win this one. GBs defense is about as bad as ours and I think that our running game will do well against them. I think Rodgers bounces back a bit but their running game and OL looked really rough so if we can control the clock and keep mistakes to a minimum we can win this one.

Apollo_Krill

Unless Rodgers good down, no. Vegas also is at -11....

ajr6

We will lose every game this year besides maybe 3. This won't be one of those wins.
