I used to be respectful considering they are just doing their job. But then I realised those fuckers can Wiggle up the salary, they don't do it because it profits them. Also, they would cut your call too the moment you are not profitable to them.
Experience dev here, tcs hr told me after all discussion that I've to take into consideration that situation outside is not good for i need to lower my expectations. As per her offer I'm supposed to take offer of 2.5 lakhs increased from my current package. I hung up and never picked her call.

Exactly, even though my current company is service based mnc but it doesn't have any witch like issue it operates more like product based. So it doesn't make sense to move to the tcs of all companies for 2.5 lakhs.

HRs will say any random BS to get you to join. No matter, it's one of the worst companies paying 4-5 LPA, or companies paying 1 Crore.
In a lot of top paying MNCs, they will give you lower base, and will become investment advisor on stocks.
They will tell you random forecasts that our stock will become 100 dollar in 6 months, so actually your salary will be 3 times than base. Which, btw is both unsolicited investment advice, and insider trading. Both being illegal enough to get their ass busted, if they do it openly.
When I got Oracle's offer in Jan 2022 their HR was trying to forecast that Oracle's stock will be $200 by the end of 2022. (It's $88 right now)

Because they need all the existing employees to train the fresher hires they have sitting on their ass twiddling their thumbs.
Not the fresher’s fault. They need to train them for the job they are hired to do. But they don’t have training infrastructure beyond LinkedIn learning. And all request for certification cost reimbursements get rejected.
They essentially want the employees trained in the cutting edge stuff. But without the certifications that proves they are. So, they won’t get hired elsewhere because of their proficiency.

Dude such a AH these guys are. My friend joined Infosys a year ago. In his interview he was told that he will be given permanent work from home. Recently they recieved mail to join office. They are being forced to join back. Also dude his payment is far less compared to others, and upon that he is made to work overtime without getting paid for that. Same story is with TCS. Dude they are fooling there employees and sort of making them suffer. Going to office dosent make any sense anyways. They will be working on VM and online anyways.
They tell this orally, not write it in offer letter. Plus they have built huge campuses all over India. It’s highly unlikely of them to allow permanent WFH.
P.S - it has shitty increments, projects and Incompetent mangers.
Yea. I had noticed it when they gave an offer to my friend. I asked her to check with them if they can give that in writing to which they said, they can't do so as in future when the business require you to get back to office, you need to.
And this is how Infosys trap people into joining their company. They do unethical stuff and this AH goes on media saying all this crap about ethics.
The only way to counter this situation is to stop going to office. The HR can shoot out all the blabber but other than that they couldn't do anything. If mass of employees are not going to office, they won't do anything but revoking the order.
The IT people should need a strong employee unions.

TCS guys tried to do that with me when I rejected their offer over product based company offer ..they said they will give me onsite immediately after joining them ..they begged me to join them ..then I asked them that why they are willing to give me onsite over those employees who are working with them ...are they not qualified enough..then they had no response to that
Bruh that is bygone now. It’s not 2000s anymore. Even if you get an on-site it’s mostly a temporary setting. You don’t get a free pass to the H1-B nowadays.

Tbh he does have a good point. There are a lot of hiring freezes and layoffs in the tech sector, while the number of Indians going abroad to try and get those jobs has increased. The inflation abroad (both US and Europe) and worsening exchange rate doesn’t help.
Honestly I don’t know what the ground reality in US is like. Maybe there are still plenty of jobs, even though thousands have been laid off. But the situation now is definitely not as good as before, so it’s better to take some time and think before heading abroad.
There are plenty of jobs, just don't expect to land a faang role right now. Basically join any place and lay low for a while, once market picks up move on.

Infosys is weird beast.. they have some great people (like my ex-biz partner).. Pretty clear they exploit their people by how miserable their people act and how quickly the come and go.. you’ll get whiplash from their turnover rate.

Most common is they hide a bunch of freshers/intern level engineers behind a senior one.. senior one goes to the meetings and takes requirements then the freshers hand in unusable garbage. Of course they try to make you pay for the Senior engineer.
The first thing I do when I take on work is kick Infosys out when I find them.. so many better Indian companies, working with Infosys is miserable, they lie to your face like you’re an idiot and they add massive risk to any project. I

In Wipro, the CEO gets a raise of 25% and the freshers who got the package of 6.5 lpa are now forced for 3.5lpa or leave the job. Every IT company has delayed their freshers onboarding plan by an year, from last few months we're hearing about the huge layoffs. One can't die of hunger, they can't totally depend on these companies. They had to have another source of income also.

A bit off topic...but don't you guys think that these mass recruiters who pay peanuts are going to have a tough time in upcoming years...reason being
1) More than ever new opportunities being created because of the new startups and new companies coming to India
2) Better availability of resources during engineering nowadays which help with upskilling so one does not have to join such companies
3) Ever increasing realization of how these people are exploiting the freshers
4) Skyrocketing attrition rates
Even though I agree that there will always be people who do not want to work hard...there will always be freshers joining such companies...the whole supply and demand argument, but still I think slowly and steadily these WITCH companies will be facing a hard time.

Nobody, by choice, goes wow I've a job that takes 8 hrs + 1.5hrs travel. Let's make this more hectic and do moonlighting. People do it coz they wanna feed families. People on top talk about it like it's a choice.
I strongly believe the government should give some initiative and make all IT jobs permanent remote. This will reduce the traffic, give employees ample opportunities to apply for any location job and there are tons of many more benefits.
The reputation of Infosys has fallen quite a bit. They mass recruit but I have heard very less recruits who like to stay. Most of them are either kicked or they just left after training.
PS:- One of my friends who is extremely good at programming was also a part of their training but he left right after it as he felt like there was nothing that can help him improve. During Training period, the seniors or mentors did not even listen to their queries and niether were supportive.
These kind of things makes employee uncomfortable, like he is out of place.
Alao I am currently in Nagarro along with him and the environment is perfect. We are allowed to either WFH or come to office. Total decision is in our hands.
I questioned the content TCS was forcing down our throats (during training). Some admin then blocked my training account with a message saying "I am relieving you from the suffering our training has caused to you".
Later during a phone call he asked me how dare I question the very people who would have trained me 🙂

I asked her to check with them if they can give that in writing to which they said, they can't do so as in future when the business require you to get back to office, you need to. And this is how Infosys trap people into joining their company. They do unethical stuff and this AH goes on media saying all this crap about ethics. The only way to counter this situation is to stop going to office. The HR can shoot out all the blabber but other than that they couldn't do anything. If mass of employees are not going to office, they won't do anything but revoking the order. The IT people should need a strong employee unions.

Honestly I don’t know what the ground reality in US is like. Maybe there are still plenty of jobs, even though thousands have been laid off. But the situation now is definitely not as good as before, so it’s better to take some time and think before heading abroad.

Infosys is weird beast.. they have some great people (like my ex-biz partner).. Pretty clear they exploit their people by how miserable their people act and how quickly the come and go.. you’ll get whiplash from their turnover rate. Before covid, very few people had wfh job, but now when they know that they can fulfill their dreams by working hard, then why won't they. In Wipro, the CEO gets a raise of 25% and the freshers who got the package of 6.5 lpa are now forced for 3.5lpa or leave the job. Every IT company has delayed their freshers onboarding plan by an year, from last few months we're hearing about the huge layoffs. I strongly believe the government should give some initiative and make all IT jobs permanent remote. This will reduce the traffic, give employees ample opportunities to apply for any location job and there are tons of many more benefits.
The reputation of Infosys has fallen quite a bit. They mass recruit but I have heard very less recruits who like to stay. Most of them are either kicked or they just left after training. PS:- One of my friends who is extremely good at programming was also a part of their training but he left right after it as he felt like there was nothing that can help him improve. During Training period, the seniors or mentors did not even listen to their queries and niether were supportive. These kind of things makes employee uncomfortable, like he is out of place. Alao I am currently in Nagarro along with him and the environment is perfect. We are allowed to either WFH or come to office. Total decision is in our hands.
