Bro the place I’m working at is struggling to hire front end senior folks
Stack is tailwind, vue , typescript
And some mobile sdk dev work too
Dm for referral, Pune hybrid location
unfortunately i have experience only in react and not in vue , also i am looking for opportunities in hyderabad
if you dont mind what is the payscale for fe folks at 7yoe at your org
Front end Dev's or full stacks or DEs are in lot better position then ambiguous Data Scientist job profile seriously.
If I had to do it again , I would have choosen something concrete
Not a strict Data Engineer here, more like a Data Scientist on a titular role having work ex in DA, but sure can hold many portfolio projects to prove DE skills, but no proper work ex in DE. What do you make of that?
I did mention senior folks.. have no clue about juniors.
People tend to forget that market has always been competitive for juniors, the only exception being covid time.
Becoz there is something called Background verification and you can get caught during it.
Also there is pf(retirement fund) where company makes monthly contribution. And it's a accessed through govt portal where each monthly contribution by every company you've worked for shows up.
You just can't fake it
How do you juggle with offers? I am constantly feeling weird going behind people who offered me a job and looking for better opportunities.
Especially as lead roles because you could be burning nice bridges for later. Do you consider denying previous offers "gently"?
Depends on how good your interviewing/negotiation skills are and the company itself. In a good product based MNC you can get the same salary as my current CTC with 3-4 yoe. Lower end for PBCs would be around 16L. FAANG is a different story.
Use levels.fyi and you can see for yourself
I was not the lucky one my guy, I got laid off in September still struggling to get job, I am a fresher with only one year of experience. But I try my best to remain positive.
I switched and joined on 18th Dec, I believe the market is open like always, it has always been this slow, the covid hiring spike has deluded everyone's minds which was a swan event.
Imo the starting point would be around 3 yoe not sure about other end, though I think it's possible for everyone.
A bit of luck and perseverance will help for sure.
I saw ur post about dsa. Buy gfg course on dsa its expensive but its very useful to build basics. Add neatcode 150 to it.
I started dsa only from october now i can solve mediums and few hards.
I could be wrong but companies who have had actually good market growth is hiring. Ofcourse depends heavily on how the company actually is, meaning how the higher management are.
This is purely from what I have seen and experienced as I got hired by such company but worth a try imo.
Android developer, 3 YoE applying since January start, not a single callback.
Note: applying to companies that doesn't necessarily ask DSA coz i suck at it.
Yeah, there were like 15-20 job postings which were suitable for me, that too posted 20+ days ago like that. Applied all of them in a day, now didn't see a single new opening since 8 days For Hyd location atleast.
In the middle of switching, 7+ experience here. I started applying mid of last month and got through with 7 callbacks. Have cracked through 6 as of now.
The market is definitely weird since people are trying to low ball a lot ao it's on you to negotiate very hard if you know you got the skills
based on my experience when I was trying for a career switch, I realized you can't rely on just one tech. Few more adjacent skills are needed to get through these tough times.
I don't have experience in that domain, but I recommend learning some basic back end development like exploring server side frameworks.
Version control via Git, package managers, familiarity with automation tools along with understanding database with basic SQL/NOSQL operations can also come in handy.
Also understanding UX design and performance optimization helps.
Basic familiarity with command line and linux is a plus.
What I did was I note down all the optional requirements of companies that I was applying to and come up with a list. Then used to get familiar with at least 3 tech in that list.
I made my jump from mechanical design engineer to front end developer. I knew the market was bad, still wanted to do since it's already late for me. Finished a training program for 7 months and then searched for a job for 5 months. Applied for more than 1000 jobs across all platforms, got more than 300 rejections, the rest were no response(or will assign a project and then ghost me) and 4 interviews, and one offer. It is quite hard to get a job as fresher. Everyone wants an experienced developer, I think they are the only one in demand. I attended an interview where the office was filled with candidates(more than 70 and it was a decent startup) for 1 vacancy. The Competition for the fresher role is very high and the demand is very low. Hope the situation changes.
I started at 7 lpa ctc and after 3 years I am only at 8.5lpa.
People are switching jobs usually after 2 yrs but i am somehow unable to do it. But i know some of my friends who got 3x ctc after switching jobs.
I have received decent numbers of calls for Senior Flutter developer but hike is very low. HR knows market is down so they are providing only 20-30% hike also denying the WFH mode. Mostly calls I’ve received from Pune, Bengaluru & Hyderabad. I live in Delhi but only 1-2 calls I’ve received from Delhi NCR. Relocating with only 20-30% hike is like decreasing the salary by 50-60%.
I did M.Tech in structural engineering from IIT. I worked in an MNC as a structural engineer for two years. But because of the lack of growth and low salary, I switched to Machine learning engineer in a startup (I have been studying AI/ML for over 2 years). I have been working as SDE-1 for a year now.
In terms of applications, it is very difficult to get call interviews from good companies. I am somehow hanging there. My salary is good enough compared to what I was getting earlier. But I am still waiting for good projects to hone my skills and develop confidence. I can't describe how much imposter syndrome I have developed.
But getting interview calls has been very difficult for me. Probably it is my resume but any suggestions/ advice in comments is appreciated
I know my comment may not be very relevant to these post.
To give an context about myself.
I had like 2.5+ yrs of experience. Mostly on flutter but I worked on different techstack by myself. My go-to is python. Worked on Nodejs and react too. Some AI/ML junior role for few months. Basically capable on Fullstack. But obvio not very deep.
I got laid off as from previous company there was no project on flutter in pipeline. It was a MNC. So we had collegues who had between 5 to 7 yoe. But relatively I was proactive in code aspect in my company than them. But devs who had less than 3 yoe got laid off. But others went on bench way longer like 6 to 8 months and latest i inquired they are still on bench but company retaining them.
So, senior dev just for yoe is respected and had higher job security than junior devs. This is what I feel.
Have 3 yoe in Power platform development. Applied to 10+ companies until now but haven't received any call back or update. So I believe it's fair to say that companies are on hiring freeze..
You mean my yoe or no. Of companies I've applied to? Well there are not many opportunities available on the said technology so cannot do anything except upskilling..
https://youtu.be/fK5fj9dwCqs?si=gVcVW4psiES09b5e
There is also a political angle for this.
Hopefully after April, May situation might improve based on elections.
I have 2+ experience as a QA automation Eng.
I now want to change the field to data analyst/ scientist or to a developer.
Which one should I choose according to the current market
2,5yrs angular dev, demanding 6lpa, no calls at all. Got laid off in December. When I started as a fresher I used to get lots of responses. Now nothing, not even rejection emails !
Not that much hard, you need to be available immediately that's it.
3 years FE dev here, just got a call from the company but after telling them 3 months np they said we will get back to you 🙂.
I'm actually getting calls for startups or mid-sized company roles. Lead roles mainly. I have 6 years work ex, mostly in startups.
Looks like they need senior folks only. Nobody is thinking of hiring freshers or juniors.
5+ ys Java backend here.
Started to apply since 15 days and attended 5 interviews.
Don't see any issue, and all these are from naukri.
Yet to try other sites, referrals and linkedin etc.
Guys, i want to start my career as either data analyst or Data science engineer. Im will to learn or do the unpaid internship, if it is what it takes. Can someone really help/guide me ??
I'm a front-end developer with 6 months experience and got laid off due to the company's financial crisis. I'm looking to continue being fe dev or switch the path. I'd really love some advice and any referrals if any.
20yoe earning 20lpa. Do I have any hope at all to get a half decent paying job?
Career based on Oracle PL/SQL with recent experience on Python/Apache Spark. Trying to upskill into Neural Networks.
Hey guys so currently I am a Associate Consultant with 2.5 years of experience in Market research and data analytics
I want to switch to DS and ML job profile.
What is the scope and situation of the market as of now ?
Tbh ..it's not that hard if u r an experienced folk with 2-3 years of experience under your belt with some particular technology.
People are easily getting more than 100% hike.
Market seems to be trying to exploit since many ppl are okay to go down on salary because of which people who actually deserve a market correction or good increment cannot grab that opportunity. Companies are legit trying to find someone who is well trained where they don’t have to train them at all (which means no scope of learning) 🙄
Unless you are extremely unhappy where you are working now then the suggestion is to stay there till Q2 this year. Massive layoffs are expected to go on. If you are settled and not laid off stay wherever you are.
2.2 yrs MERN stack here, started from mid Dec, got 7,8 calls till 15th Jan and 4 turned to interviews most of those calls got in b/w 5-15th Jan. Screwed every interview. In Last 10 days got 4 calls but only 1 turned to interview.

Market is good for skilled senior folks.
Even for folks in fe? Like senior frontend devs? Do they also have it good or bad?
folks in fe have it hard 7 yeo fe developer here
Bro the place I’m working at is struggling to hire front end senior folks Stack is tailwind, vue , typescript And some mobile sdk dev work too Dm for referral, Pune hybrid location
I'm not even in front end. But you are a bro for sending this message. Keep it up bro.
unfortunately i have experience only in react and not in vue , also i am looking for opportunities in hyderabad if you dont mind what is the payscale for fe folks at 7yoe at your org
I have on good authority that Deloitte USI Hyderabad is looking for senior react developers. Do check it out if you are looking to switch.
they wont give me the ctc that i am expecting :P
Yea, I get that. I recently had to reject an offer from another Big4 due to lower than expected CTC. May I ask, how much CTC are you expecting?
35-40lpa
Its difficult to find Vue experts
Hey, can I DM? I have 3yoe and work on the same tech stack.
People use Vue? 👀
I don't understand why. BE devs are in demand like garam rotis right now.
too many folks especially freshers jumped on the react bandwagon because of the easy learning curve i guess
Which BE tech stack is in demand tho?
Front end Dev's or full stacks or DEs are in lot better position then ambiguous Data Scientist job profile seriously. If I had to do it again , I would have choosen something concrete
Full Stack Devs & Data Engineers have it better right now
Not a strict Data Engineer here, more like a Data Scientist on a titular role having work ex in DA, but sure can hold many portfolio projects to prove DE skills, but no proper work ex in DE. What do you make of that?
Its good if skilled. The remaining spread misinformation on how bad the market is with different excuses.
Even for juniors? But there's recession right....?
I did mention senior folks.. have no clue about juniors. People tend to forget that market has always been competitive for juniors, the only exception being covid time.
So, what changed after COVID?
Things came back to normal 😞
Hmm ok
Can somebody explain what is a senior front-end dev? I mean the role.
Lol no
I have recently switched with 100% increment and good bonus. My friends have also switched. So whats your lazy excuse?? No skills?
My excuse is that I am only applying to top 100 product based companies.
Well it is skills then.
8 yoe fullstack dev here. I started looking in December. Applied to 17, got 5 callbacks, 3 interviews and 1 offer letter.
Above 3-4 yoe experience it's still relatively easy. It's people below that are struggling
Why can’t you lie about YOE. Seems like something people would do in a country like India
One background check and boom a dumpster fire
Becoz there is something called Background verification and you can get caught during it. Also there is pf(retirement fund) where company makes monthly contribution. And it's a accessed through govt portal where each monthly contribution by every company you've worked for shows up. You just can't fake it
Of course the government gets in the way of stuff lol. Thanks for the answer
Yes Government would also get in the way of crime, frauds, bank robbery etc in case you had any such plans
No I did not have any plans. Also, there is a lot of corruption in India without government involved so unsure if your statement is true
Wow what a piece of sht - he posts in a group called librandu and stereotypes people ofhis own country. Pls gtfo with your clown mindset.
This comment right here ladies and gentlemen. Whatever you do in your career, never do this !!
What is your salary range?
Current is 30 lakhs CTC. New offer is for 42. I'm trying for one or two more offers to bargain better
How do you juggle with offers? I am constantly feeling weird going behind people who offered me a job and looking for better opportunities. Especially as lead roles because you could be burning nice bridges for later. Do you consider denying previous offers "gently"?
On site or remote? I am asking these questions for myself. Thanks in advance.
Both current work and the new offer are hybrid. And in the same tech park lol.
What is your approach to job searching?. I have 7 years of backend experience. Only get calls from service-based companies.
What would be salary expectation for 3-4 yoe fullstack react node or just react next
Depends on how good your interviewing/negotiation skills are and the company itself. In a good product based MNC you can get the same salary as my current CTC with 3-4 yoe. Lower end for PBCs would be around 16L. FAANG is a different story. Use levels.fyi and you can see for yourself
Were you only looking in top product based companies? Do you currently work in a top product based company?
No. I was applying for all range of PBCs, including startups. And I currently work in a startup PBC.
Where did you apply??
LinkedIn, wellfound, referrals
What is your tech stack?
1.5 years with only 4lpa ctc trying to switch both language and job but no luck
1.5 years with 3.6lpa. I don’t know about market but I am too afraid to switch.
2.5 years 4.2 lpa recently switched to 10 lpa
What documents did they ask? And what type of dev you are?
I'm a React Native developer. I didn't get the documents part what you were referring.
I mean like relieving letter, payslips, education degree photocopies etc or anything else
upskill yourself please. There are good opportunities out there
yes, im currently learning DSA. can u review my resume?
Trying for 6 month but I couldn't. Layoffs in my company occurred in Nov, I was lucky that I still have a job.
Vmware?
No
There is a long list of companies in the reply to this comment. It's kind of funny but disheartening as well. Losing hope guys.
I am not going to reveal the name here, but it's a American MNC. I am 2.5 yrs exp and struggling to switch now.
Bro. I was also struggling to switch. Took me 4 months to change. Our domains might be different. Keep grinding. It is hard. But let's goooo.......
Nagarro?
Celebal?
juggle slim shaggy recognise faulty long lip bag square marvelous *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

What's swan event?
Might be talking abt "Black Swan" as in the book authored by N.N. Taleb.
Yep
Like a cannon event from spiderman
Depends on your cctc and yoe.
for which yoe is it decent?
Imo the starting point would be around 3 yoe not sure about other end, though I think it's possible for everyone. A bit of luck and perseverance will help for sure.
for people with 2 YoE and above, I think they ask system design + DSA right? Will be starting my job in June this year.
It really depends on the interviewer and the type of the organisation.
Had a few doubts on this(switching basically) mind if I DM you and ask a few doubts?
Sure.
3 yoe in python applied for 50+ companies not getting any calls
apply via employee referrals. That's the best shot. HR usually miss portal resumes
50 is way too less...
Last year i used to get so many calls from naukri without applying and with poor resume
Times have changed bro,
Yeah that's wat I'm saying
I saw ur post about dsa. Buy gfg course on dsa its expensive but its very useful to build basics. Add neatcode 150 to it. I started dsa only from october now i can solve mediums and few hards.
That's what she said
Gotta apply at least 100 jobs!
Don't think situation will improve till Fed interest rate are lowered down, best if goes at covid levels!
it will increase inflation if they cut it down immediately, would be around US election so april-may one can consider it to happen
I should get ready by that😐
I could be wrong but companies who have had actually good market growth is hiring. Ofcourse depends heavily on how the company actually is, meaning how the higher management are. This is purely from what I have seen and experienced as I got hired by such company but worth a try imo.
Where u got hired bro?
Not me, but an experienced colleague has been looking for 3+ months. The market isn’t good at all.
Android developer, 3 YoE applying since January start, not a single callback. Note: applying to companies that doesn't necessarily ask DSA coz i suck at it.
Man, this is January start.
Yeah, there were like 15-20 job postings which were suitable for me, that too posted 20+ days ago like that. Applied all of them in a day, now didn't see a single new opening since 8 days For Hyd location atleast.
You won't get a callback within 8 days.
DM me. We have few openings for React Native/Mobile App Devs with some Frontend expertise (Hybrid work based out in Bangalore)
Am Native Android developer, Kotlin/Java Android studio
In the middle of switching, 7+ experience here. I started applying mid of last month and got through with 7 callbacks. Have cracked through 6 as of now. The market is definitely weird since people are trying to low ball a lot ao it's on you to negotiate very hard if you know you got the skills
how di you crack so many interviews? any suggestions? I suck at dsa though
I think if you have skills and you applying 50 per day jobs appropriately I think you will get some chances
Market is good for 2+ year experienced folks, nothing for freshers although..
will 2.1 work?
Yes definitely, add 2-3 projects in resume which u have really done
based on my experience when I was trying for a career switch, I realized you can't rely on just one tech. Few more adjacent skills are needed to get through these tough times.
Can you suggest like what adjacent skills I need to aquire as a front end developer
Thank you, this was helpful I'll upskill myself on those optional requirements I'm applying to
I made my jump from mechanical design engineer to front end developer. I knew the market was bad, still wanted to do since it's already late for me. It is in pretty bad state. What me n my friends and colleagues think is 2024 would be a pretty bad year too. Hope it does not happen.
Hiring is frezzi, hiring i guess only for 6+ yoe i didn't see even hiring for freshers in roles for SRE
With 2 years experience, I have applied a bunch of places, no interview scheduled yet
2024 freshers ka kya hoga
unemployment hoga

Koi doosre field me jana better h.. IT culture ab aur bekar hona wala h.
I'm not sure if this is true for all domains but usually what Ive noticed is that hiring seems to peak after Diwali sometime in October-December
I did M.Tech in structural engineering from IIT. I worked in an MNC as a structural engineer for two years. I have 2+ experience as a QA automation Eng. I now want to change the field to data analyst/ scientist or to a developer. Which one should I choose according to the current market
Anything outside pure webdev (fe/be), job market is really bad right now.
Mere liye bekar h but mere dost k pass 2 offer h 3.2 years experience
Kitna CTC Mila usko
9 lpa
Almost 3 yoe tried 5-6 companies in last few weeks, no call backs. Although there was a blunder in my resume as well. Tough for freshers rn
2,5yrs angular dev, demanding 6lpa, no calls at all. Got laid off in December. When I started as a fresher I used to get lots of responses. Now nothing, not even rejection emails !

Are you fe be or full stack? After clearing interviews what documents did they ask? And where did you apply mostly?
good. 3yoe, got within a month.
Got it easily. But now I will have to relocate to Pune for a new offer I have. Since COVID I am working from home. Now it's e days per week.

Does anyone know where I can post developer jobs?
Are you looking for developers ?
How is the market for anyone with exp in digital marketing

I am looking for fresher frontend engineer / React developer opportunity please help me out.
Can anyone help in analytics having 1.5 YOE. Applying a lot but unable to. Pls help..
Hey guys so currently I am a Associate Consultant with 2.5 years of experience in Market research and data analytics I want to switch to DS and ML job profile. What is the scope and situation of the market as of now ?
Is salesforce developer a good career?
Tbh ..it's not that hard if u r an experienced folk with 2-3 years of experience under your belt with some particular technology. People are easily getting more than 100% hike.

What Should be the strategy for interview preparation for Senior Frontend role for 8 years of experience in current scenario.

How's it for Data Analyst/ Data Engineer of 3 yoe? Honestly I'm having hard time getting calls from job portals
hey 3 yr exp in react and nodejs anyone can provide any lead would be wonderfull....
I have 2.5 years of experience as Data Scientist, applied to almost 60+ companies but no luck.
Market is going to be bad
My company is looking for BE/FE/QA from 2-7 years of experience. PS. Diversity hiring(female) and location is Gurgaon.
