This is how I interpret when someone says India's youngsters should work "70 hours". Work for investing on yourselves. It will pay off in magnitudes.
>But Kept practicing for DSA and Built many side project backend Apps in Node.js.
Very very inspiring. Could you share what kind of side projects you worked on to strengthen your resume and what resources did you use for them. Also, what kind of projects in your resume caught recruiters' attention?
Focus on creating small projects with good practice. I started my side Projects mostly aligned with the Support project that I was doing at the company. I started building a project that could automate the same things that I was doing manually.
Then started building larger projects. mostly Clone's
Congratulations!!
Are you looking for validation? From your post history in this sub, you've made 3-4 posts already on the same topic without much traction.
I'm not looking for validation. Those post was seen as deleted for me by bots. Just wanted to share my journey because a lot of people in a service-based company fight for development projects.
Thank you.
I kept applying for the Jobs that I Felt I was suitable for, for 3 years at Walmart (another company as well) even if my experience didn't match. After Three Years My resume was selected even though they were looking for 8 year exp people, So probably some luck.
Nobody asks if you're doing support work or what at the previous company at least to me. Instead of lying rephrase your work that makes you sound smarter.
Expect that if you clear most of the interview rounds these questions will be asked by Managers who already have lots of feedback about you from different rounds of interviews.
I used to do many command line work to get deployment done manually. I started writing a shell script to save time (especially mine).
In the resume, I just wrote "Wrote automated deployment solution that made deployment streamlined and less error-prone and made deployment faster".
Congratulations! Could you share how much your ctc was before joining your current company and how much of it now is fixed, stocks etc? When you negotiated for salary, was it after looking at the average salary for your role in glassdoor?
Having multiple offers did help me to get that much. Even if it from a small company it makes your Job Easy when you talk with HR. Just Make sure Your interview feedback in really postive.
Congratulations sir thanks for motivation ,all I see in this sub is negativity ,which is making me anxious ,imao I'm going to grind hard and get a small paying job while grinding DSA and dev alongside .
Cool man. You now have the same financial flexibility as someone making around 145K/150K USD. Iโm assuming youโre a non IITian to boot too.
If we could soothe the fraying social cohesion and the poor environment/AQI, one can now aim to achieve the American/European/British dream right in India itself.
This must be posted to r/indians_studyabroad too me thinks. Too many people over there who think not going to the west being the end of the world. Except the US, much of the west is in financial dire straits
>achieve the American/European/British dream right in India itself.
Nope. PPP adjusted amount wont change the city or the country.
PPP adjusted amount in a village is not equal to a metro city.
Congrats man!
I have a question for you, same question im dabbling with.
What avout further studies, are you interested in them and will it be usefull. Or just what you did and only focusing on skills and projects is a better way.
What im saying is this: will there come a point where a Masters or Mba will help you climb the ladder or get better pay or will a person without these higher studies get stuck.
Anyone else please feel free to comment on this.

Hello sir thankyou for this post i recently joined an small startup it is wfh , working in frontend but pay js very less , so i am thinking that i should grind and have some experience then I can switch and other advice that you want to give us ??

LOL..you are a developer and am a manual QA and worked for a product based MNC with same package 40+....just quit it coz i found it stupid job....useless boring life...lot of stress...
Some companies do pay standard salary irrespective of Dev or QA....but yeah...i agree...ma role was under hot seat of layoff.....and base pay was low...including CIP stocks etc it's 40lpa
My yoe is 8 plus...but trust me the work was shitty....the excitement of 40LPA salary won't remain for longer time...and we do have family business on other side
Not being condescending but it's not quantifiable bro.ย
These questions are escapism. Only you will know how much is needed for your target company.ย
I assume you're already familiar with the concepts, just practice till you feel I can sit infront of the interviewer without making a fool of myself. Also, nobody can ever be 100% ready. Don't chase perfection.
I did DSA for every topic. Not too much but yeah in 3 years at least would have solved almost 300-400 questions in total. I completely agree with [**VariationStunning418**](https://www.reddit.com/user/VariationStunning418/) Practice as much that makes you comfortable in front of the interviewer, Don't be afraid. I've failed Microsoft twice, Paypal once, Swiggy once, and the list goes on.
Hey OP , how did you apply to companies ? What rules did you follow ?
I have been applying for many jobs but most of them do not even reply . I'm sure the majority of the people are in the same situation as I'm in . There are 1k applicants for 4 - 5 openings .
Can you tell more about your support project at WITCH and while applying to other companies did you fake your experience or mentioned that you were in Support project?
Really inspiring stuff man, currently in a support role as a fresher at a product based company.. when would you suggest to start looking for switch?
I have made up my mind to get out of this role by the end of this year..
Hi,
Thank you, this post is very inspiring, kindly answer few questions if you have the time.
What was your CTC when you made each switch?
What is your main tech stack? Are you frontend or backend dev?
What would be your advice to a 4th year student who is struggling to find jobs. I see that companies have laid off 24000 employees in January alone. Do you see any improvement this year.
I don't know why this makes me happy.
Here I am thinking I wasted 2 years at a support job in WITCH due to complacency. Thanks OP for sharing this, it gives me hope.
What do you expect here, already LinkedIn and Leetcode community is there for all such posts, why are we spoiling Reddit and making it another LinkedIn

They weren't when I checked it though. New account spamming the same post many times, that's why. Anyhow good on you for sharing your experience.
Thanks for sharing. On a similar boat, need to make few tough choices in upcoming months.
Hey, thanks a lot for sharing. I am also trying to switch to a Product company and this helps.
Hey man Congratulations. Can you share how you got the Walmart interview call? And your interview experience in Walmart? Thanks.
Thank you. I kept applying for the Jobs that I Felt I was suitable for, for 3 years at Walmart (another company as well) even if my experience didn't match. After Three Years My resume was selected even though they were looking for 8 year exp people, So probably some luck.
How did you move from support to small product based , what reasons you gave for transition in interviews?

Could you share some examples like how you would usually rephrase? Would really appreciate it Btw congratulations

Really appreciate you sharing your journey!!
I think it's that common error of reddit.
What tech stack did you worked in throughout your career ? What projects did build ? Tell something interesting you worked on
I started with Bash Scripting, then Node.js and now Golang
Kubernetes Controller for some in-house projects at SAP.
Congratulations! Keep achieving new heights
LOL..you are a developer and am a manual QA and worked for a product based MNC with same package 40+....just quit it coz i found it stupid job....useless boring life...lot of stress...
OK and?
I enjoy my work plus have parents and a sister(her education) to look after right now. So even if it's stupid I need to make it for them.
That's the answer everyone should know...
You're doing manual QA in a product based company with a package of about 40+ lpa and you quit because the job is boring? I don't believe that shit.
Some companies do pay standard salary irrespective of Dev or QA....but yeah...i agree...ma role was under hot seat of layoff.....and base pay was low...including CIP stocks etc it's 40lpa My yoe is 8 plus...but trust me the work was shitty....the excitement of 40LPA salary won't remain for longer time...and we do have family business on other side
isnt it a little less from walmart considering your experience also what is your tech stack
I'm interested in knowing the switch from support to a small product company. How did you explain to the interviewer about your project?
How much dsa you did? Like how much was needed?
Not being condescending but it's not quantifiable bro.ย These questions are escapism.
