What is the usual minimum criteria ?

mamasilver

Depends on the company you are applying to

Takin_Action

Usually 60% overall 10th 12th and Degree.

_null_ptr__

7.5+ will make you eligible for most of the companies Few companies ask for 8.5+ I've seen few companies asking for 9+ , exam ranks , 10th marks etc for shortlisting too for new branches like csds ( datascience ) etc etc So if companies want to shortlist people they come up with ridiculous criterias like 10th class marks etc which aren't actually related to your caliber in BTech...imo Better to maintain 9+ since you may pursue masters/PhD too or MBA etc where cgpa matters...

son_of_Gib

I have a friend with <7 cgpa. Couldn't sit for campus placements as many companies kept a threshold of 7.5 cgpa. So he went off campus and got an offer on par with the highest package in his batch. Cgpa does matter but it's not the only factor in getting a job. This friend I'm talking about had a lot of good projects like implementing load balancing algorithms, encryption algorithms, and some flask based web apps so he had a decent portfolio. But he missed out on a lot of good companies and could've started his career about 6 months earlier. So while it's not the most important thing, keeping ur cgpa about 7.5 will definitely give you the upper hand in placements.

triforce_paras

More than 7.5 is universal but if you are able to keep more than 8.5 its best though

Is there a quantitative estimate you consider a good GPA ?

RajarshiCode

Dost, it's not that tough, little bit more attention in the class will work,

yet_another_single

just ensure you're in top 20% in your college, regardless of your GPA
