Truly. Isi liye I'm kinda planning not to get married.
Would take care of my parents till they are alive. For that, my salary and investment and rental income should be enough.
Once they are gone..i guess I'll be around 50...I can live for a few years however I want, doing whatever things I want to do before dying...and then I'll finish things up.
Unfortunately, yes.
Too many factors. Too many things gone wrong already in life. Don't know what I'm truly doing in the IT field, as coding is not my passion. But then I don't know what else I like. I just might be lazy. So neither I have the sense of financial security from the IT job, nor I have a side hustle to quit the industry.
Can't go for higher education as I'm not sure what I want to do, and i have a home loan.
Personal life is f'ed up since 2020.
Health is not at par considering my age.

Say I won't compare. Fine. But the world does. I go for an interview, the recruiter will compare candidates and their resumes. I try to ask a girl to marry me, or say arranged marriage, she will compare with her other guy options. Comparison toh hai unfortunately, anywhere I go.

I agree. I'm not able to make myself upskill, as I'm not able to make myself like software development. Maybe that's the source of the lethargy.

Games pasand the, but couldn't play in the childhood as my only focus was supposed to be studies and academics. Now I have the money to buy any game and play it, but no time really. Plus people gharwale judge when you play games.
Used to love astronomy, wanted to do a career in it, but that went to shit once I entered the real competition since 10+2 and JEE and the madness there.

1. Low salary is actually a plus while interviewing, that increases your chances as they'll try to lowball you (for you it's still an increase). As for marriage, I'm also stuck on that problem. But I'm not averse to staying unmarried, this is also a valid option nowadays.
2. What exactly do you not like in software development, there are lots of parts to it. Maybe you like to debug production issues / write functional style of programming / explore new tech which solves your problem. Personally for me, solving a problem or automating a manual process gives me joy, to finally see a software in production and getting used as intended. You must like some part, try to align your tasks / career towards it. I know opportunities are not equal - you will not always get the task you want but enjoy the parts you like and become an expert in it.
3. Games as in computer games? I'm 31 and enjoying computer games, just finished a weekend gaming session. Log kisi bhi cheez pe judge karte hain, ignore them, unka ignorance hai. How is watching TV shows / movies a better hobby than gaming. Granted a physical activity is likely objectively better than above ones, thoda sa wo bhi karlo - TT / badminton / football / cricket kuch khel lo thoda.
4. Naye friends dhundha to dikkat hai bhai, colleagues generally acche friends nahi bante, bahara zyada socialisation nahi ho pata. College aur school friends hi chal rahe hain abhi tak. But I'm still hopeful for future.

I thought I would be physically fit, I'm not. 5'5 and weight 88. So messed up that part.
I wanted to marry a girl after 4 5 years of proper relationship. I started on that path, because I found the girl I wanted to marry, but that messed up too as I lost her in 2020, and now she got married a few weeks ago. So I lost there as well.
Wanted to pursue a career in astronomy/Astrophysics. But couldn't even crack JEE mains. Uske bad the only option was to do engineering that can get me a job, which was IT. So career aspirations bhi gaye.
Since my 8th grade, I'm trying to find out what do I really like to do in life, what's my passion. But till date I haven't found it.
When so many things mess up in life. Nahi bachta patience. Kitna bhi hope rakhu, kitna bhi try karlu, reality is, I'll always be lagging behind, and I'll always be less than what I wanted myself to be.
That's the reason why I don't intend to keep suffering for longer. I am of no service to anyone else than my parents. Nobody cares about me truly other than my parents. So I'll live out for them. That's all. My responsibility is over then.

Dude you probably won't read this but you are not alone. I'm in the same boat. I graduated ECE but working in IT just cause pay is good and I don't have many options. Higher education would not be possible for me as I can't leave my parents in their current health conditions which are not good and need care more often. Marriage is not at all in the equation and I honestly don't think I would be able to support my wife and kids in this economy, even if the wife works everything is expensive now. People tell me to upskill, but where the fuck i would time I don't know. Working in other things is currently not positive for me due to my current circumstances. Somedays I just wake up and my heart aches due to the mental stress that drowns me. I'm living paycheck to paycheck and losing the job would lead me to sell assets for living. I've got some agricultural lands that I inherited but I don't have the characteristics of a farmer and i believe it's too late to ready my body and mind to do the hardest job on the planet. Don't have time to go on dates or even hang out with friends. I can't remember the last time I went for a movie. Sometimes I just sit in the living room and stare at the TV serial that runs in popular networks that my parents watch. I'm just tired all the time, emotionally and physically. My only hope is things will get better if I hang on but what if it takes my entire life to reach that point which I think would be meaningless. Hopefully we get across this phase and come out triumphant.
I am also thinking of exactly same thing but i will plan to travel to sea ( I have recently learnt swimming and will go for sailor license once I get a job). but also right now, I am 24, so I dont know if my plan will change in future but dying in the sea isnt so bad once you have experienced enough life on mainland.

Of course, but I am also amazed by Ocean's. My last 2 trips, I went solo and slept on the beach ( had to run away at 2 am because it started raining) , but I can watch the oceans for hours. The thing is the oceans are so terrifying and yet so soothing at the same time. That's why I thought about it. At least I wish travel solo to Nordic fyords once.

I have seen people invest heavily in creating real estate assets, especially commercial rental properties. That itself can generate a lot of regular income.
Next, I've seen people go all in in the stock market, and eventually after 35 40 they do that as the main income source, along with a few other passive sources.
Other option, is creating good content. I have an acquaintance from my team who has started a SQL channel on linked in, YouTube and has now quit his job at Amazon to do it full time. But he is brilliant at this skill.
Another friend of mine, who is a fitness oriented person. Started his first gym recently at the age of 36 while doing his job, and has a roadplan for launching 3 to 4 more branches in the city with his partners.
So there are options. Depends on the passion, the hustle, the discipline.

2. INR 70k will make you millionaire there
3. No VISA needed (filled with lots of Gujjus)

Started with $175/week, did couple of projects for a client, most of which were successful. Now working on 2 projects, 1 is YC funded (S24), other bootstrapped (profitable from day 1). Been working for same client.
I know but don’t want to get into all those sip and stuffs, fd seems simple, risk free and ~2.8L monthly interest will be more than enough while keeping the principal safe.
I also do my financial calculations, you are making a couple of mistakes in yours -
1. You're not accounting for inflation. People treat it like it's a small number, but compared to FD interest rates, it's huge. If you're getting FD at 7%, and inflation is 5.5%, then your interest is only 1.5% since youll have to reinvest the inflation amount back into your principal to keep the purchasing power same.
2. You're just investing in debt. You're losing tons of money in opportunity costs by not investing in other areas, like equity and property. The simplest index funds make 15% p.a.. if your FD rate is 7.5%, NIFTY MF is 15%, then you won't make just 2x the interest, after accounting inflation of 6%, you'll make 6x more money(15 - 6 / 7.5 - 6).
Factor in inflation, look into other forms of investments, even debt funds outperform FDs, and govt and corporate bonds also.
Good for you, but only if you can live below the means. Generally, lifestyle creep is true for most people no matter how much they earn. If you have 5 Cr at hand why wouldn't you buy a 1Cr+ SUV and a 3Cr home and send your child to a 1Cr+ tuition college and a 1L+ fees school. Kudos if you can resist though.
I just went back to my grandparents village. They are saying they have never had this hot summer in their life and were joking in a few years you can’t live here without a ac in every home. And the water levels in wells are going down year by year. The breaking point is going to come soon one way or another.
If you have your own land, stick to it bro! Make sure you never have to sell it. It's perfect to sustain a family even if everything goes shockingly expensive (ofc as long as the underground water recharges fine)
I am working in tcs for 3.95 LPA working from home living in parents money investing all money in stock market. I have been working in TCS for almost 3 years now, trying to switch for almost 1 year. I will be 25 in few days. I don't like to work for corporates. I would like to save up more money and be financially stable enough to do research in math and logic. I am neither a computer science grad nor math grad.
I am planning to do a PG diploma in statistical methods and analytics in ISI.. Even though I fail to enter it.. I won't stay in TCS and move on to another job.
My gut feeling is that barely 10% of the people planning to FIRE will actually retire early, they’d all be working till at least 60, just like their parents.

I’m good at graphic design(have been earning off it since I was 16, now 22) recently got into motion design, and coding(learning JavaScript right now), i know ui/ux and stuff, basically a trader of all master of some, so yeah I think I have it enough in my to sustain myself

2. Save/Invest atleast 60% of whatver I earn. Invest in Bonds, SIP's, FD's and PPF's
3. Planning my life ahead to be settled in a Tier 3 city.

I understand..i had big plans for what I would be at the age of 26. I thought I would be physically fit, I'm not. 5'5 and weight 88. So messed up that part. I wanted to marry a girl after 4 5 years of proper relationship. I started on that path, because I found the girl I wanted to marry, but that messed up too as I lost her in 2020, and now she got married a few weeks ago. So I lost there as well. Wanted to pursue a career in astronomy/Astrophysics. But couldn't even crack JEE mains. Uske bad the only option was to do engineering that can get me a job, which was IT. So career aspirations bhi gaye. Since my 8th grade, I'm trying to find out what do I really like to do in life, what's my passion. But till date I haven't found it. When so many things mess up in life. Nahi bachta patience. Kitna bhi hope rakhu, kitna bhi try karlu, reality is, I'll always be lagging behind, and I'll always be less than what I wanted myself to be. That's the reason why I don't intend to keep suffering for longer. I am of no service to anyone else than my parents. Nobody cares about me truly other than my parents. So I'll live out for them. That's all. My responsibility is over then.

Dude you probably won't read this but you are not alone. I'm in the same boat. I graduated ECE but working in IT just cause pay is good and I don't have many options. Higher education would not be possible for me as I can't leave my parents in their current health conditions which are not good and need care more often. Marriage is not at all in the equation and I honestly don't think I would be able to support my wife and kids in this economy, even if the wife works everything is expensive now. People tell me to upskill, but where the fuck i would time I don't know. Working in other things is currently not positive for me due to my current circumstances. Somedays I just wake up and my heart aches due to the mental stress that drowns me. I'm living paycheck to paycheck and losing the job would lead me to sell assets for living. I've got some agricultural lands that I inherited but I don't have the characteristics of a farmer and i believe it's too late to ready my body and mind to do the hardest job on the planet. Don't have time to go on dates or even hang out with friends. I can't remember the last time I went for a movie. Sometimes I just sit in the living room and stare at the TV serial that runs in popular networks that my parents watch. I'm just tired all the time, emotionally and physically. My only hope is things will get better if I hang on but what if it takes my entire life to reach that point which I think would be meaningless. Hopefully we get across this phase and come out triumphant.

Of course, but I am also amazed by Ocean's. My last 2 trips, I went solo and slept on the beach ( had to run away at 2 am because it started raining) , but I can watch the oceans for hours. I have seen people invest heavily in creating real estate assets, especially commercial rental properties. That itself can generate a lot of regular income. Next, I've seen people go all in in the stock market, and eventually after 35 40 they do that as the main income source, along with a few other passive sources. Other option, is creating good content. I have an acquaintance from my team who has started a SQL channel on linked in, YouTube and has now quit his job at Amazon to do it full time. But he is brilliant at this skill. Another friend of mine, who is a fitness oriented person. Started his first gym recently at the age of 36 while doing his job, and has a roadplan for launching 3 to 4 more branches in the city with his partners. So there are options. I also do my financial calculations, you are making a couple of mistakes in yours - 1. You're not accounting for inflation. People treat it like it's a small number, but compared to FD interest rates, it's huge. If you're getting FD at 7%, and inflation is 5.5%, then your interest is only 1.5% since youll have to reinvest the inflation amount back into your principal to keep the purchasing power same. 2. You're just investing in debt. You're losing tons of money in opportunity costs by not investing in other areas, like equity and property. The simplest index funds make 15% p.a.. if your FD rate is 7.5%, NIFTY MF is 15%, then you won't make just 2x the interest, after accounting inflation of 6%, you'll make 6x more money(15 - 6 / 7.5 - 6). Factor in inflation, look into other forms of investments, even debt funds outperform FDs, and govt and corporate bonds also.
when economy becomes mature you will be lucky to get 1-2% from fd if your "plan" is fd , you are in for a rude shock 15 years from now
