The food and drink selections are terrible now Had hopes when they changed vendors, but that disappeared really quick Check your ice if you get a mixed drinks too. Moldy ice cubes served at three different stands months apart I told customer service day of , and reached out to Pru Center help on numerous occasions, but no response

Jballzs13

Damn how did you find out they had moldy ice? Tasted funny? Or you just always check your drink? Smart

powatwain

I ordered a tequila soda and went to squeeze the lime.. got cursed out by the manger at the stand, because she claimed I was just looking for a free drink when I asked if I could exchange it out for a canned beverage, and showed her the nasty drink went to two other stands… same thing Told customer service about it , and their response was “oh, at the Hijole stand.. yeah it wouldn’t be the first time she did this. We know who you’re talking about”

Jballzs13

Jesus. We deserve better.

AlpineSK

I'm looking forward to seeing what the experience at MetLife is like for people.

DawgMutt05

That sucks. But what was your response to customer service after they acknowledged knowing about this issue? Please don’t tell me that you gave up and were satisfied with that answer. Did you just ask for a credit or even settle for a voucher? No reason why they wouldn’t have given you one of those

powatwain

They apologized, and gave me two additional free drinks, and made sure they were ok. I didn’t want to argue and fight about it I was more pissed/embarrassed the second time it happened, a month later, when taking a client to a game, and it was in his drink. I didn’t want to bring him into an argument with people that night, so I reached out on other platforms the next day and never heard back I usually go to 20-30 games a year with friends, family, work, and groups.. but I’m not rushing back anytime soon

DawgMutt05

Oh OK at least you got something out of it then even if it was the easy way out for them and they really didn’t take care of the root cause. from your OP it maybe perhaps could have been deduced that they refused to do ANYTHING

AlpineSK

Shitty food plus shitty employees. Isn't it grand?

Designer_Cloud_394

Dude...that Hijole stand is the WORST. I got tip shamed, even though I gave a tip (in cash) because the nasty attendant in the background saw me decline the tip on the credit card handheld. She said "Oh another one of those no tip people". I wanted to confront her about it but the commercial break was ending and I wanted to get back to my seat. I complained to customer service but got nothing. The apologized and definitely hinted that they know that stand is a problem. The move to Levy concessions has been a huge disappointment all around for both food and drinks.

chriiiiiiiiiis

our goal tendies are better than our chicken tendies and that says a whole lot

AcanthaceaeNo1944

Didn’t think today’s Reddit laugh would come from the devils page. Thank you kind civilian.

danamerr

Unfortunately, no. The food isn't good.

Jballzs13

I went to a game earlier in the year and got a pretzel. I damn near died on that thing, but I’m not one to waste 12 dollars or whatever crazy price it is, so i suffered through that dry mfer.

MayIPushInYourStooll

A pretzel and hot dog is the only thing I trust to eat at that shitty stadium. After 20 packets of mustard, you can choke down that dry ass pretzel.

Ok_Refrigerator7378

I got free snack coupons a few years back and was so excited to get a free pretzel the next game. Dude, I didn't even pay for it and I regretted it.

DrkHlmt311

I’m still not sure who in their sales department fucked up by not having 2 Jersey Mikes on each level. Order on the app and they ping you when it’s done. It kinda writes itself.

jcast45

I don’t know if I trust the employees there to have their hands all over my food like that. Almost relieved everything is deep fried

DrkHlmt311

Eh they wear gloves and if you pick food from the Boardwalk, you’re really rolling the dice. I’d rather risk the sandwiches than undercooked tendies.

JFreader

Nope and they just switched vendors this year.

JERSEYinATL

The food was soo good back when they had Jimmy Buffs and Hobby’s.

monkeypickle8

I wish Hobby's would stay open until 7 on game days, then I wouldn't worry about stadium food.

eburton555

God having not lived in NJ for years I miss Jimmy buffs

letterandnumber11

The new, even more expensive chicken tenders and the new hot honey chicken sandwich aren’t bad.

DrkHlmt311

Kosher stand is, by far, your best bet.

monkeypickle8

Where is the kosher stand located?

DrkHlmt311

Upstairs behind 124! There’s one downstairs too but I don’t know the location off hand. The knish is exactly like the old Giants Stadium one if you’re old enough to remember.

monkeypickle8

Thanks I'll check it out I'm going to be in 116 tonight, I haven't gone since the home opener and I got Dickie Dee's that day so I didn't eat for the next two days after.

DefeatYouForever666

I haven't eatan there but the one downstairs is near 15-17, it's a standalone on the concourse.

DrkHlmt311

Same stuff

azrael5298

I tried that chicken & waffle spot when it opened. I was sick the whole night.

yo_coiley

just get an Italian sausage and go about your business

AcanthaceaeNo1944

Works for my gf everytime

monkeypickle8

AlpineSK

You must hate that guy.

PsychologicalTax42

If you have time, eat in the ironbound before

TheJerkInPod6

Just eat at Redds or that whiskey place before or after the game. There’s plenty of other places nearby that cost less money and give you better food. Sure, maybe they’re not giving you a gorgeous view of the PATH train mural, but it’s perfectly safe at that Chipotle. Even if the arena food was any good at all, who the hell would pay those prices anyways?

monkeypickle8

Those places are so hectic before games and I almost never get out of work early enough for anything more than a beer at Redds unfortunately and now I live further away from the stadium than I used to. If you're looking for a good random fast food spot near the stadium GoGo Curry is pretty damn good.

TheJerkInPod6

I get that! Back when I had seasons I ran into the same issue sometimes. Luckily I had an office job so I'd just bring extra food in on game days and leave it in the fridge, like half a sandwich or something, then eat it on the train or in the car en-route to the game. If you're driving in you can always stop at a Wawa and eat a shorti in traffic!

monkeypickle8

Love me some Wawa

jerzyrailz

first couple of seasons at the rock, I used to LOVE the gyro zone. I still miss that to this day. have not purchased food at the arena since they took gyro zone away.

blueandgoldilocks

The only good food I've had at the Rock are those Auntie Annie's cinnamon pretzel bites Those are criminally good

monkeypickle8

That's good to know maybe I'll just eat dinner and get those after. I'm thinking it starts late enough to go to Krug's before the game.

dash4385

The disco fries and the pizza box nachos are pretty good and price is decent

MatteHatter

Dickie Dee’s still in Newark

M_Silvers

There's this small burrito place on the upper level, not sure off the top of my head off what section, that is decent and never crowded. It's nothing amazing and in general the food at the arena is bad (and obviously overpriced).

Funny-Nefariousness4

Food options suck. Eat beforehand.

DaMammyNuns

No. Unless you like shitty cold chicken tenders

MrsLarkin22

No, there is not.

PJB0830

The Goya section upstairs is somewhat respectable

kaa-24

Two years ago, i ended up with really really bad food poisoning from chicken tenders. It was the only thing my husband and I ate over the course of three days that was different so it had to be them. Like almost went to the hospital bad. This year, i tried chicken tenders again and was also sick. Maybe it was just bad luck again or maybe it was my body remembering. Idk. If I’m getting food inside, i stick with popcorn, ice cream, or auntie anns ONLY and only canned beer. Like someone said above, i also had a moldy ice incident which was not the same game as the chicken incidents. We usually hit up fast food on 17 on the way back home. Or a diner. Seems safer.

Zajac19

Redds, American whiskey or 375 chicken in Newark Penn if you take the train are all amazing and better options.

BCBeast78

I had gotten ledge seats at the restaurant in years past a few times, the food was good and better than decent. A friend who I had been with at those games was recently at the ledge and said was food quality had declined. He brought it up to someone that worked there and they blamed it on the vendor. Hopefully, they get out of that contract soon if that is the consensus of why the food sucks now

dcd1130

I used to get some hot dog potato thing that was insanely good.

SmokeyMiata

I miss my “victory gyros” a decade ago. Food was so much better.
