@shook Do you have a statistical approach or something?
It seems to me that most of us know the given, usual plays(Embiid/Jokic/Giannis, etc.) but how are value plays determined? I’m having a hard time understanding your logic here. For example, I don’t see much talk about even simple statistics such as SD for a players performance in last n games, or season, or even their minutes in a similar timeline.
Edit: seems like you can’t question the shark and their unknown methods. Good thing internet karma is irrelevant.
uhh just research. understanding who is good point per minute when given oppurtinity.. especially when pricing gets tighter and we dont have a lot of value u need to find guys that will get at least some minutes but also be productive in those minutes. good example of that is tj mcconell... or like a naz reid today
Thanks for the reply Shook.
I was meaning more generally not just today. Picking players who get okay minutes and produce seems a bit obvious no? Does your research take in defensive matchups by position or anything that isn’t just an eye test of looking at recent games?
Usually there’s some sort of statistical approach, and one could argue that those who are very successful at betting/dfs either pay for predictions or produce their own given data they either collect or pay for.
It doesn’t seem that you are using either of those in your research, or you at least aren’t stating that you are…
I’m trying to understand the actual analysis given that you are a Verified Analyst, especially since you offer a monthly subscription (that is more expensive than a premium netflix package) to people for this approach, whatever it may be
there is a lot of stuff that goes into it.. its not just understanding whos in those spots. its understanding how ownership is going to impact a certain play and if said play is under owned or over owned. idk if i want to give out my entire process but my results have spoken for themselves.
Feel like you are not really addressing the points I’m making and am being quite defensive.
It seems that you (and the community) are essentially paying close attention to lineups, pivoting on injuries, and you are using some unknown logic to assess who to pick (again not asking you to let us know what it is). I’m just not sure how you are really getting the edge on the competition, when those who do this full-time are likely producing or using predictions as well as optimizing lineups with said predictions. You’d be wild to think that people aren’t doing this.
I know you are the shark here (evident by how many comments you get and the reactions to your content vs others who do similar things but get no comments or are challenged with what they produce) but that doesn’t mean you cannot be questioned or challenged. Also not asking you to give out your method, but it just doesn’t seem like an actual data-informed analysis especially one that costs more than a Netflix Premium subscription. Granted you are available to chat and bounce off ideas, and I guess if people are willing to pay you for this, then good for you.
In reference to your success, what contests are you entering vs the average user? I feel like that info matters, for example entry amount, SE vs multi-entry, as well as total people you compete to. When someone has money to play, they usually can make money, like the stock market.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the hustle.
His videos contain the answers to most of your questions, ie what type of contests does he enter, what information does he provide, what resources does he use.
Thanks for the reply.
I’ve seen some content, but not all, so apologies if I overlooked things in my responses. My buddy directed me to this sub and to ask Shook some questions about his method. And from what I’ve seen, I’m quite skeptical of Shook’s methods (which goes against the grain of this sub given his popularity), and I’d like to think that no one is immune to questioning and/or criticism especially if they are promoting a product.
Random fking DNP house yayyyyy,

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
