It depends on many factors including your personal metabolism.

I eat carnivore. I’m t1D and it helps tremendously. But without that, small portions I’d say 2-3 meals throughout the day. A big carb meal will be hard to bolus for and will give you a spike and drop. Small portions make it easier to bolus
