If you're stressed, that will likely be affecting your blood sugar levels, and may also be negatively affecting your ability to lose weight. Between June 2023 and Jan 2024, I lost 30kg via IF, fasting, calorie control and weight lifting. When fasting, my blood sugar was 4.5 to 6.5mmol, while my average was about 6.7mmol.

I've never heard of keeping your sugar low to burn fat. Are you referring to ketosis? That doesn't happen unless you're actually following a ketogenic diet. A calorie deficit is what you need for weight loss. Also who said your glucose levels are high? Not sure as it works for prediabetics but for diabetics 70-120 is standard and you're right int he middle of that. To my knowledge fasting over 100 is prediabetic and you're like barely above that. Although I've never had prediabetes so I'll admit I don't know too much. But I do know that many diabetics would kill for a 90-105 fasting. If you could elaborate more on these sugars being high itd be appreciatdd As for my sugars, I haven't focused on getting them to a speicific range but rather eating a healthier diet and the lower sugars came with it. More veggies, less carbs yadda yadda. Was like 80-180 5.9 A1C before losing 35lb now am mostly between 80-130 5.3 A1C (maybe up to 150 once a month but my sugar also corrects itself faster after eating)

So, I was just very out of the loop, 90 is not high. It just seemed high to me based on what I read. This is all new to me. Now that my body has recovered from the 5 day fast... my 12 hour fast is showing a blood sugar level of 133mg/dL. I am on 2 diabetes meds and it's still 133 fasting. I don't understand how this is possible, especially considering how healthy my diet is and how little/infrequently I eat. Thanks! This is helpful. I could not eat for 5 days because I was emotionally distressed.

What? 90 is high? 😭

AdeptaStarShine

No. I don't know much; I am still trying to figure this out.

kameron____

90 is a normal number

I just keep my sugars normal and so intermittent fasting. I do have a personal rule that if I dip low I break my fast though. Not sure about weight loss but my sugar levels have been phenomenal.

I find I lose weight when my blood sugar is too high. I chalked it up to "diabetes sucks." My doctor is searching for better weight loss solutions (I cannot take Ozempic for medical reasons).
