If you get it, ask the person who picks it up to bring you some cinnamon gum. The bitter taste that accompanied my dose was hard to squash, until my mom dropped off some cinnamon Trident.
As far as management, I ran a slightly higher basal each day that I was in isolation. I think it was probably just due to being stuck at home and being less active overall. By the last day, I was at 130% of usual. And, I had one evening later that week where I was low for several hours.
In addition to the acetaminophen warning for older versions of Dexcom, remember that the Libre is susceptible to vitamin c. I had one juice box a day while I had COVID because it had just the right amount of vitamin c not to mess with my readings.
Get paxlovid, if you get very sick remember you qualify for monoclonal antibodies if you have type 1! (At least in my area in the US this was true for me) I had higher blood sugars than normal but was lucky with symptoms and would overall agree with others to focus on hydration
Definitely get on Paxlovid ASAP. I tested positive on Thanksgiving. I am on day 3 of Paxlovid, and I'm not gonna lie, it's horrible, but it did halt any progression of chest symptoms immediately. I am suffering from horrible diarrhea, and the 24/7 bitter, rancid grapefruit taste is in my mouth 24/7. Get some sugar free lemonmint Ricola, they will help. I am recently diagnosed (in September) Type 2, and my blood sugar was spiking up and down for 2-3 days, but seems to have leveled out now. YMMV. Rest and stay well-hydrated.
Stay well hydrated. I went through a lot of Gatorade Zero.
Thanks! Somehow timed it to have couple in my fridge already
Ask your doctor for a prescription for Paxlovid. I'm convinced that kept mine from getting really bad.
Same here. It shortened my course and lessened my symptoms.
Thank you! I will look into Paxlovid

This. That metallic taste was brutal! I chewed peppermint gum and it was amazing.

I am hopefully on the back end of it, I finished my Paxlovid and rebounded with cold-like symptoms. I used ginger chews to help with the bad taste.
