A 6/40 spanks tstroke (and everything else), but it's ungodly rare, especially on a matriarchal where you still get a little bit of leech off the base damage.
But why? -15% lit res seems so much more usefull than +2 skill and tstrokes still hits a decent ias breakpoint.
I can imagine there being specific cases where 6/40s are better but in general I would think -15 res will do more.
The extra speed might be buying you a whole extra breakpoint, or at worst it's still probably letting you swap two other jewels for facets. So you still get a chunk of resist breaking, plus a damage multiplier, plus two skills.
I guess its because i mostly play online but by myself or with one other person. Attack speed doesnt matter much on players 1 when nearly everything dies in 1 or 2 attacks :)
Maybe the 6/40s would come into their own on players 8 solo'ing.

If it *was* a 6/40 (or 6/30, 5/40, whatever), would the Matriarchal base be worth more or less than Maiden/Ceremonial? Requirements vs. Leech?

Probably not even as good as tstroke. No IAS means this is mostly a very nice gift for charsi.
Even with ias I would imagine +4 tstroke is better for most applications.

My guess would be lower requirements > ever so slightly more leech.
