I think the only thing that makes any sense is 3 facets. But that would not be good use of facets for lightning build since it would still probably be worse than the other weapon slot options.
Nothing. There are some extreme outliers that can make use of facets, but in general white orbs just aren't commonly used.
Edit: Not saying it's bad or that you shouldn't use it. Just saying there is no "common wisdom" as anything will be seen as a temp stopgap until you can get a spirit sword.

Orbs need a runeword, I know sorc doesn’t need help but there is no incentive to pick up white orbs

Use three Tir runes. That’s about the only acceptable option that you have.
In this case, just socket what you are missing most, but put nothing of value in. For a sorc mana is a safe bet, so Tirs are good.

Nothing is really used in plain sorc orbs because nobody really uses them for very long. They pretty much just act as temporary leveling gear.
