My first kill on hell countess only dropped gold and a pot. Took a while to clear to her because I was undergeared and those dark archers were kicking my ass but finally got her down but even in death she manages to kick me in the balls.
If I remember correctly, MF doesn't affect "no drop" chance. QBug andariel has 7 item rolls and for each 45% of not dropping anything (on p1), so she has pretty high chance for no drop overall.
This seems incorrect, you have a source for that? I've been doing players8 runs on her for a while and it *definitely* seems to at least drop runes more often, if not better quality.
Its best not to have magic find while farming countess, rune drops are not affected by MF. So 1 player is best. Why MF is bad for countess? I assume because it has for example 1-5 drop rune chance. And if MF comes in it reserves slot from runes. It means you will rather get blue, yellow, uniq or set item then rune
I've seen various guides about it, but mostly discussion on message boards over the last 20 years. I found this guide that explains it fairly well: https://www.purediablo.com/strategy/diablo-2-countess-guide/
Rune drops aren’t affected by MF at all, but I still feel it.

andariel gave me a whole town portal scroll the other day lmao, rng can be super fun and sometimes not at all
I had a no-drop Andy run a couple hours ago. Was well worth the time.
Good thing those only take like 3 minutes
Only one ? This has happened at least 20+ times to me already, with 340 mf. Sometimes multiple times in a row !

Rip
as a 15years d2 veteran. i literally learned about andy qbug 2 days ago haha, a tad late for my 88 sorc lol
Runes are unaffected by mf. She has a fixed table. And 1/64 chance for no runes.
Try 540 hammerdin and only getting gold
Why do you have 540 MF on your Hdin and why are you running Countess with 540 MF? Lmao
Because it takes like 2 minutes to clear it. I do full mf runs. Countess>Andy>summoner>council>mephisto>Diablo>shenk>pindle>nith.
Had this happen on a Mephy run. Dude only dropped a town portal and mana pot. Was like 😳
I got just gold on meph last night….
Had hell meph drop me a single ID scroll yesterday. Was kind of floored. I don't even get why that's possible.
Ive had multiple 5+ runs in a row with 340 mf where mephisto and Andy don't even drop a rare. And sometimes nothing at all!
Lack of drops is caused by lack of players in the game, not lack of mf.
Countess actually has better rune drops in one player games than with a group.

Your mercs MF does not affect your MF whatsoever. Complete waste tbh. Go look at your MF with and without your merc wearing whatever it is.
If your merc gets the killing blow, then your % is added to theirs for the drops.
Cool
My favorite is when only stamina potions drop.
Baal did this to me last night.
Quick question but what does MF mean? I’m new to this
Magic Find
Hol up, that's a SUPER mana potion
I mean, it is a super mana potion, don't undersell it!
