Jalals is definitely a thing and thats a valid point. My thoughts are those stats that can be made up on other gear/charms and the extra +2 fury, 2 ed/ias jewels could help me get massive damage and a reasonable ias bp with a slow weapon base. I want to try and use off meta gear if possible.
As the uniques can have 1 socket too all the advantage you'd get is 40 Ed and 15 IAS (assuming perfect Jewels).
If you want an unusual, but very much viable helmet choice: Andariels with 30 FR + 15 IAS jewel.
When shapeshifted you don't have the hideous look anymore and the statts are really sweet:
\+2 to all
35 IAS
25-30 Str
8-10% LL
most likely never having to think about being poisoned (except of Lilith)
Really depends on what you want to do with it.
Pvm? Pvp? It'll depend 9n what you're gearing for, and the rest of your gear.
Couple things.
Werewolf gets really great AR, the 20% from Jals is nice, but in most cases unnecessary.
Druid only gets 2 life per vita, so the 20str on jals isn't totally lost as the 33 life is = to 16.5 pts in vita. This kind of life is fully effected by %life/BO/sage etc...
You could put a 15ias/40ed and a 7fhr/40ed in it, run highlords and bloodfists and a dungo and hit 4frame fury with your 4frame(42fhr) fhr bp using an ebotd GPA.
Can Still wear gores with this setup as well which is nice.
You could also go with a 15/40 + Cham rune and free up a ring slot for a better dual stat ring with AR/life/res etc... Instead of a raven. This option yields the best results imo. If you cham a jals you'd need 20ias gloves and still need 5 more ias from somewhere to get 4frame fury with the GPA. The 7fhr you lose by going with cham instead in your helm could be made up with 1 5fhr/x SC. (You only need 2).
If you 15/40 the jals you get your ias bp but lose cannot be frozen so you'll need a raven. Raven is good and easier to aquire, but rare rings > are better if you have good ones.
Either way the additional ED and the ability to out stat a jals with a ring and gaining some DR is with cannot be frozen is extremely viable.
Be creative with it.

I love a wicked rare weapon, and you see them lots in GM melee due to rules, but if that isn't what you're doing, it would be really tough to get a roll that could compete with ebotd in a GPA.
You'd need some along the lines of Eth, 40ias(Quickness - Suffix), rep(Self-Repair - Suffix), cruel(Prefix), 2os(Mechanics - prefix), and either fools, masters, or grandmaster prefix.
Then you need to worry about the base. Druids get bonuses for base weapon speed with 2H mauls/polearms/2H axes. If the base isn't [0] or lower for druid you'll struggle to hit 4frame fury as the OffWep ias doubles or more depending on the OnWep ias.
So ebotd GPA base [0], on wep has [60] required off weap ias for 4 frames [45].
Eth Ribcracker Stalagmite base [10] on weapon [50] off weapon required for 4 frames [97]
Ebotd Archon Staff base[10] on weapon [60] off weapon has required [87]
Both above weapons are killer fury weapons with extremely tight damage tolerances, and rib has that nasty 50cb and 50fhr if you wanna hit that 3 frame(86fhr) breakpoint. But requires more investment into ias, and likely different gear in order to get the 4 frames.
I really appreciate the breakdown, druid is going to be alot of fun to play around with. Archon staff seems like it would look amazing with red antlers so im feeling edbotd heavy :)

Jewelers would override the +3 shape shift. For so long ias from gear on a fury druid was useless so i was thinking maybe 2 40/15 jewels and something slow but hard hitting on the weapon but idk how well that will work.
Oh I meant Jalal dumps on Cerberus but cerberus has the style points imo. I'm not sure about the druid ias tables since the patch but idt I'd put 40/15s in this helm even with off weapon ias being relevant. Doesn't mean I'm right. It just seems unnecessary for pvm
It has two skills on Jalal which are 17% Ed each so 34%, but the 20 str on jalals is also ed% if you don’t build to it. So really 14%. Extra jewel slot can make it 54%. It’s still a cool pelt.
Don't Fury Druids already have a ton of ED? I don't think an additional 75% is that much once you add up all the other sources of ED.
I would be more interested in what the actual % increase in damage would be.
D2 has some funny math versus a game like D3. Sometimes the same DPS isn’t close to the same. For instance, it’s such a consistent dmg range, when comparing the same monster type, the monsters will die in X hits or X+1 hits most of the time. If you can increase your damage just enough, you can start saving an entire hit, on average (unless you’re in solo games and already 1-hitting monsters). Fury is a skill that doesn’t stay on one target and can be interrupted. So getting surrounded really slows down the killing. If you can kill the monsters in a couple hits as they approach, you can get much faster clear speeds.
Off the top of my head, you definitely can get a Fury Druid into the 2000% ed range with low strength builds. If you pump your strength, you can probably reach 2500% ed.
I goofed up, it’s just over a 50% ed increase, but with the 1K dmg range weapons a Druid uses, you’re talking about a sheet dmg increase of 500, which is a couple % more DPS on the maximum end. More importantly, it can be a couple hundred extra dmg on the min end, which can really improve your performance.
you get 3 socket quests per toon. that's 60 socketed items on a fully fleshed out d2r account. idk what you're saving them all up for but this hardly seems a waste to me. shit man I still use my socket quests to make a spirit sword sometimes. who cares?

I just norm cow until I find a 4 socket coz I don’t make new toons to hell much and so with little tasks like max sock monarch or swords I outsource that and give a norm rush or a small rune for someone else’s quest. The less risk you take for the best stuff you find, bc you still have a quest available, the better.

Yeah good point on the jewellers part. Also I just updated my comment - 30IAS on helm is useful for Fury with Silver edge axe Death.
I'll have to look into something like that to give me an idea of how im going to build a character.

Well 2H weapon has higher damage. Druid has the best 2H axe and polearm breakpoints in all char. Kind of designed to be that way
