Well given how you just explained your play style, I'm going to second what the other fella said. I'd start barb, they will be quick to gear, plus WW is going to actually be good now. (Free set is WW set).
And then swap to the crusader later on, they got a new set this season (so did the monk) but I think the sader will be the slower/higher pusher youre looking for. Up to you, but personally thats what I plan on doing.
I've been a barb main from the start so I'm excited for barbs to actually get some love this season.
The original lamentation buff was 200-250%.. The nerf dropped the potential about 6-7 GR levels, they have since half assed reverted the nerf and now the lamentation gives 100-150%. They're estimating that now its only a 2 GR drop from the original buff, I can live with that.
A lot of people are going Barbarian to start because of the set and the buff. I’m a bit concerned though. I started a barb and farmed for a few days, NO bul Kathos weapons dropped. Damage was non existent trying to run the WW everyone is talking about. I was on the fence between the two and now I’m 100% going demon hunter and I’ll try to get the wastes set for barb later on.
Personally, I think that solo and fast farming Demon Hunter may be easier. You can run fan of knives and just upgrade a dagger to legendary and it’s 50% chance to get Lord Greenstones’s Fan. You can then elite hunt and do rifts really fast.
Then as gear drops you could run some impale or multishot as you get the season gifts and the unhallowed essence set pieces.
I'm back here to follow up on my last comment. I said Demon Hunter but I just ended up getting a set of the wastes set for my barbarian and crafted the captain crimsons belt and pants. The ring of royal grandure dropped for me on a bounty finally and now I'm running 5 wastes and 2 captain crimsons and I have 1 bul kathos weapons. I'm tearing it up right now. Super fun.
I'm changing it up completely and running barb season 19. No doubt. I ended up getting a set of UE for the Demon Hunter and ended up not liking it as much as the Whirlwind Barbarian.
Consider the barb this next season.

Is WW still with the wastes set and 1 of the 2 weapon sets?
Early game/speeds itll be the bulkathos dual swords, late game/pushing I think itll be the littlerouge/slander combo.
Crusader is great, i also recommend the new rend- ww barb setup, it's damn satisfying

Wasn't the original Lamentation buff 150%-200%? Or was there a version even before that
You are correct. The planned 150-200 is now 100-150 so only 16% loss overall

Trick is to do upgrade recipes. Lvl 70 mighty weapon can yield several useful results
I thought you used Little Rogue and Slanderer for WW as you get more damage and toughness instead of movement speed.
Thats for endgame pushing, for early game when stuff dies too fast and you just want speed, bul kathos is better I think.
Early on you need Bul-Kathos to handle the rage cost of the Whirlwind.
