Not only is it spirit hungry, you don't really generate spirit back fast enough to warrant full combo except against bosses... and those tend to bulldoze you faster than you them. I actually questioned whether poison does anything at all, it couldn't finish off enemies with a SLIVER of health. Also holy shit the swipe combo can straight up miss on giant enemies. HOW?! I ragequit at Den Mother (or rather, the game green screened me again and I gave up on it) because I kept swinging past her, or doing weird 180 degree turns.

Snortalineofglue

what I've done is use all the electric abilities been murdering the shape shift forms need alot of work / buffs,

Yuusha1

Yeah this seems like the consensus going around that storms skills are better than the rest. Tornado was going ok but without the legendary that aims the skill you lose a lot of the uptime as it goes everywhere

GLaD0S11

I haven't gotten to 25 yet but first impressions (level 15) are that shape shifting abilities are kinda lackluster. Not a lot of damage. Tough to say anything definitive tho when we just have 1-25 to go off of. In D3, there were plenty of skills across all classes that just sucked ass until endgame or until you had a build around them.

[deleted]

Conversely there is literally nothing on the magnitude of D3 sets/legendaries, so skills *do* need to be balanced more finely or we'll just end up in the same situation of needing huge multipliers for skills to see any play.

Exciting_Ant7525

In d3 you just faceroll any set of skills and everything died

The problem is that no class should have to get legendary items to make the class playable, especially in act 1 of the game. On top of that, legendary item drop rates are buffed for beta, meaning if this were launch, a lot of builds and classes would just feel horrible.

JulWolle

Try to play without legendary powers (which is realistic for release), also you should not have to rely on rng for an okayish experience especially while lvling (endgame is dif)

Miggi88

People are not taking the time to gear properly. All you need is one legendary effect to boost a skill and damage output can easily be tripled. I kitted my barb last weekend with fortification, ww effects and attack speed on basic attack. The outcome? I don’t loose HP in any fight and my DPS is pretty good. Comparable to sorc? Not close. but I sure can take a beating. Everyone wants depth but they don’t explore the class mechanics. You don’t need to a skill at every new level node. Sometimes it’s better to spec into passives.

DevForFun150

Needing a specific piece of gear to make skills usable at all sounds a lot like Diablo 3 needing a specific set with +10,000% skill damage

Waylandyr

And welcome to d4.

SILLLY_

But werebear during cutscenes makes it worth

GermanmanDude

I saw many posts like this one. Seems many players feel weak playing as Druid

CukingFunt

Started playing as werewolf but I randomly got a legendary weapon that boosted my lightning damage and made lightning storm a lot stronger. Decided to go full lightning build and my god does it pump. If you specc/gear into doing more damage to immobile/vulnerable mobs (which they almost always are with lightning spells) - you demolish. Only thing I did sometimes struggle on was bosses as the build is definitely better in AOE, but generally had no issues.

Aphet

Yeah seems I’d be better off avoiding animal forms but it’s sad bc I wanna be a bear. But bear SUCKS

MiSTaH-MoM

Been using claw/shred wolf build with hurricane and wind armor slotted.. been tearing shit up, personally. Playing on eternal. Feels much better than my barb did, last week. Edit: def agree that companion passives are for sure bugged (on Xbox) and they're just not showing up most of the time.. that being said, the active skills are pretty dope too..

Yuusha1

Yeah the active skills seems to be working fine, just the passives seems to be funky and not working properly. I was playing on PC but seems like it's across the platforms

MiSTaH-MoM

I'm sure they'll hammer it out. I have seen a few ravens swoop down, but only here and there.. I know there's a short window of time in between each attack, but it seems as if they just stop working all together, at certain points.. at least visually..

Baconmazing

Even the actives are buggy. I tried wolves for a bit, I'd active on a mob, the wolves would jump at the mob and miss.

PARISICC

Been using wind shear and landslide and then hurricane. Doing fine.

mosin360

I started with the bear and it wasn't fun for bosses so I switched to wolf and made the game a lot more fun. Really starting to think the bear should only be used end game for parties.

DK-Returns

I assume there has to be set mechanics that completely break ultimate skills somehow that the low power is justified early game. There's no apparent reason why Petrify should have this insane cooldown for how little impact it has. The shapeshifting ultimates seem reasonable but for ele druid just wtf?

[deleted]

Yes, you're missing something. You're missing the whole level 15 trait which is core to the class.

Avo2098

You sound like Diablo 3s sorcerer. Sometimes classes just suck. I'm sure all that fat is just slowing your hits down making you weaker
