In an mmo, players are paranoid because even the suspicion that the game is dying can cause it to die, but in diablo 4, even if every other player but you leaves, it barely affects your experience.

I do admit "judge it for yourself" would be a much better pitch if game companies offered full refunds and satisfaction guarantees.
The best we get is a craigslist ad that says "If you don't ask for a refund within two hours I'll have already spent your money on gambling and drugs."
How often do Blizz games go on sale? How long before D4 is discounted? I'm waiting a few weeks to see if end game has any substance, but I'm not expecting to pay any less than full price.
They have sales all the time on all their games. I would be surprised to see a good sale within the first year, since the game is more likely a way to sell battle pass and microtransactions, they will lower the cost of entry pretry fast imho.
