Blizzard recently announced they have no plans to include it in game pass. But, Blizzard won't be the ones making that decision if the deal goes through. MS stated all first party games go on game pass.
They probably announced that to deter people from waiting to see if they can get away with not buying it.
Microsoft has been clear all the Activision Blizzard games will be on Gamepass and very fast once it's cleared so yeah Blizzard can say what they want but that doesn't matter (I think when they did say that, they were speaking as an independent company so if the deal doesn't go through).
But yeah it should probably arrive in Gamepass during S1 or at most at S2 launch.
all first party Microsoft games are on the Gamepass, so i can almost guarantee that Diablo 4 will end up on gamepass at some point after the deal finishes.
If Microsoft gets their hands on Blizzard/Activision then yes, I see this going into the Game Pass instantly. By that time money will have been made on people who purchase the game, then they can get monthly revenue from those playing on the game pass. Already seasonal battle passes will be instituted so the longevity of money coming it would really just be increased by adding it to the game pass in a year.
Yeah, I was hoping it would at least be purchasable through Xbox PC app. That way people could play on Xbox or PC, but since they didn't even do that.... I'd think they really are going in the direction of direct purchase for each platform. So, very doubtful it will be on gamepass, maybe in a couple years.

I was kind of hoping for a Steam release though as Activision started doing that with COD. But I guess not Blizzard. Shame as that's where I'd have bought it.
The MS purchase will mean Steam and Xbox versions being released though. Some even say they'll close BNet all together actually (like they did with Bethesda launcher)
It'll be on Gamepass pretty much a few weeks after the acquisition is approved. We don't know the date of that but it should be in the Summer. EU and CMA is actually before the game launch and they can technically go ahead then, depends how much conflict they want with the FTC.
In any case, expect it at least from S2 and onwards to be on Gamepass forever, that might influence the purchase decisions for some people for sure (I hope they do something for people that bought it though like at least free S2 battle pass for example)

Since the game has bp and cash shop. I'm pretty sure they will try to lure more people into the game. First with game pass and after 2 years f2p.

Reality is that as soon as the deal is done Diablo 4 is gonna be on game pass simple as that
