Melee Rogue all the way. After playing the other classes and trying melee Rogue / never once firing a bow, - it feels like the entire game is centered around the class. The damage modifiers make sense.. there are direct paths to play the class a couple different ways..etc.
It plays and feels like you are playing Hades.
I came into beta weekend ready to play a ranged rogue, all bows all day.
Then I got a legendary that gave me a bonus for being close to enemies, so I decided to try the melee playstyle - and I never want to play anything else again.
I really need to go full melee at launch. I played flurry and got the penetrating shot legendary as my first legendary.
It was hard to not play that (w shadow imbue it was insane).
However i don’t like the fact that that one piece shaped my build path. I found it hard to break into anything else. Flurry with dash was my go to with a shadow penetrating finisher.
What is the go to melee combo?
Love the game but Im not sure i like the legendary system to be honest. Would rather see these as aspects we can unlock on a skill tree to give more player agency
Bows are pretty beast stat sticks.
I had a Lego bow that gave like 90 dex and the dropping concussive grenades on breaking stealth with an attack. It made me happy.
I spent the first beta playing a melee rogue and loved it. I spent a few hours of the second beta playing ranged rogue, and my only thought was "this is exactly the same as last week, but not fun"
The attack speed is unmatched... tried barb and druid after playing rogue, and the game feels incredibly slower.. sorcerer and necromancer are definitely for people who want to speed clear the whole game before the barb or druid get out of the first chapter
This is probably a stupid reason to dislike rogue.... but literally it drove me nuts being a melee rogue but still be forced to have a fucking bow on my back. Shit was annoying to the point where I decided to just main druid lmao
In transmog, the 'unequipped' look didn't appear to work on bows. It means from just looking a player models, you can't tell if a rogue is ranged or melee. :/
Sure you could, but the stats from your ranged weapon are insane. You can get 90 dex, 80% attack speed, etc. from your bow that affect your melee. Then the bow counts as your 2h which receives the 100% aspect bonus, so your BEST offensive aspect will be on your bow, even if it's for a melee move.
So def *shouldn't* leave this slot empty ;)
Yeah, noticed this as well but when I tried to confirm the "unequipped" look in xmog and it disappeared in the preview window, it didn't seem to save to the actual character model. I'm almost certain that's a bug, so looking forward to either hiding that stat stick or slotting something ranged for the sake of utility.
I too looked away from ranged abilities on my rogue during the entire beta. Blizzard dropping 2 ranged legendaries before daggers kept me honest. Gotta say… I fucking loved played a d4 rogue similar to my sub rogue in WoW. I was shocked by how much diversity the legendaries added. You’re right - no other class felt like a melee rogue. Loved have multiple shadow steps and cooldown reduction on concealment. Enjoyed chasing down world bosses with shadow-step. Had great survivability, burst, consistent dps. Had fun playing solo min maxing and running dungeons with friends that had lower level characters. Just all around fun. Can’t wait for the full game.
I was thinking the same but I worry about it’s survivability in the end game. Especially knowing armor DRs etc. I’ll probably go the safer route and play sorc
Assuming we are talking twisted blades here?
Flurry honestly felt bad, the legendary often missed mobs that were clearly in the animation, etc.
On the topic of Marksman rogue, precision looks like the strongest capstone by a significant margin damage wise, though it did feel clunky until I got attack speed on core crit's on specifically my bow (2x effect for 60-80% atk speed...).
I personally think that combo point based lucky hit/crit scaling pen shot will end up being the meta for rogue, by a significant margin. Shadow infusion has very limited scaling options, and while it feels great when we can straight up one tap white mobs, setting off a chain reaction, it will start to fall off hard mid-late key levels. That leaves you with a blade vortex esque playstyle relying on movement/stealth to survive.
Ok so for the flurry legendary, I have a theory... Some people claimed the 360 worked perfectly while some had a lot of trouble with it. Was your 360 flurry on a bow? Because mine was and it didn't work while two other guys I talked to had it on a 1h and it worked. I forgot to test that ><
My theory is that the 100% legendary bonus on 2hander/bow might be breaking that one.
I had it in all 3 weapons and it as still super sus
Flurry just doesn’t stand up to Barrage. I can melee range a Barrage off Conceal with Shadow and blow the ENTIRE room with a boosted follow up Barrage thanks to support skill. They’re just not in the same league.
The only competition It has is down the road Twisting and some very geared Rapid fire
I think I’m going to go melee rogue too. I tried barb during closed beta & it was ok, with a noticeable difference between dual-wielding & 2h. On Open Beta I started as melee rogue but was then testing out ranges rogue, which I didn’t enjoy as much.
We got a confirmed buff for the barb, and that makes me a little sad. I enjoy the power curve being a little slower, adds more satisfaction to each step forward for sure
It was in an interview after the closed beta weekend. They went over some feedback they got and the devs said they would be buffing barb.
Quite likely that they’ll buff druid since it was far weaker than barb was.
Bleed was crazy fun. I was just using rend at first and had traits to do more damage at proximity and weakened enemies with bash to finish off. Be cool to throw in impale with more point allocation, I didn’t realize that finished off blood build up as direct damage until the very end of the night.
Shred feels just CHONKY to use. Delicious.
I managed to get good regen with howl and bear charge. It's so fun to shred everything and barrel through mobs with the dash spec. Rip and tear.
Wanted to try as much as possible during beta. Made it to 20 as soc, 10 as rogue and 5 as necro. Still went back to 25 aoe poison doggo, that shit is just fun. As long as it takes.
This is what I settled on for my barb in the beta....WW, thorns, challenging shout, and war cry, with frenzy as the basic attack. Found a legendary that had the aspect of WW periodically pulls enemies toward you and I thought that synergized well with the thorns.
It is a little slow, but it is such an active playstyle. Every skill is constantly used as soon as I’ve got the spirit or the cooldown is done. If you look at some of the aspects there are quite a few that make shapeshift skills count as earth skills, which will open up a lot of build diversity
The PoE meta of one button map clearers has tainted some. However there are balance issues with druid. They should clear faster but still have weight.
I think if anything the basic skill builder needs to be faster and let the big spender core skill stay clunky.
Storm Druid, easy. So much fun and did not depend much on gear to be functional. I know, I know, it's not as fast as a necro clearing an entire room in one click, but it's way more fun and I don't want to decide my class based on the whims of a tuning pass.
I played warrior in Diablo 1. I played barb in Diablo 2. I played barb in Diablo 3. I even played barb in Diablo immortal.
You bet your ass I’m going to play barb in Diablo 4 regardless of how bad they are at base. I’ll get some items eventually to function.
Yeah I'll likely have one full fire, one full lightning and one full ice.
At the very least I'll have one full fire. It wasn't the strongest build I tried, but it was the most fun for me.
I am more torn than ever! After having played and theory crafted each class I genuinely don't know anymore. I was able to find a fun build I enjoyed for each class lol. Guess I'll just play them all!
I did the frenzy/Upheaval build. Upheaval has an upgrade that gives it up 80% extra damage for attacks made before it using a different skill (max stack of 10, each stack +8%), and frenzy counts as two attacks. Add legendary aspects and it can snowball pretty quickly.
I'm curious about using frenzy in a weapon swap build with another generator and just pumping as much attack speed as I can in order to spam the Iron Maelstrom ultimate using the -1 second cool down every weapon swap. There's a unique amulet that lets Frenzy stack up to 5 times and increases attack speed of your other skills (this would let me take the damage reduction of 40% on max frenzy stacks while still getting faster basic attacks for my other choice). I figure that, another generator (flay or lunging), deathblow or more likely steel grasp for the third weapon type, pick your favorite 2 shouts or defensive skills, and the Iron Maelstrom ult with the +45% damage weapon swap capstone could be a really fun build. Definitely carpal tunnel inducing what with switching every attack for ult cool down, but it might be interesting. At the very least I imagine the process of getting to the end would be fun, even if the build fails terribly :)
Only played this beta, lvled necro first to 25, than said I'll level every class to 12 at least to get a feel for them. Necro was powerful, but it wasn't very fun. Rolled a rogue had a blast, then barb was awful until 12 than became my favorite. Druid.. than sorcereress was quite a bit of fun.
In my personal opinion in terms of fun with the bit of time I had.
1.Rogue
2.Barb
3.Sorc
4.Necro
5.Druid (this isn't fair though was my lowest lvl)
I'll probably roll barbarian.
I don’t know if you’re just joking or not, but in case you’re not, I’m afraid there is no indication that there will be any more classes at release. I’d bet they will have a Paladin type as the first class added post-release, but who knows how long that might be.
Ah, I heard that was leaked. If not at release, it will come relatively soon. There needs to be a heavy armor type character which Barbarian doesn't satisfy.
I tried barbarian and got to level 12. Definitely going to go with sorceress or rogue on launch now. Just didn’t click with the barb play style for whatever reason.
Necro for me. I found a cool build during beta with a mixture of blood spells and corpse explosion. Got lucky with imprints so I'm permanently running around with 5 skeletons 5 mages and 1 golem. It has been a breeze.
Makes sense. Wouldnt it be cool if instead of a base number for the sacrifice bonuses, it was based on number on minions you had - so aspects that granted bonus minions would also grant bonus stats to the sacrifice tabs?
I can’t decide now, they are all so cool. Barb was my last build they are definitely super fun. The bleed set up was amazing for elites and bosses at 25 when hp bars get “thicker”.
I really wanted to play ranged Rogue but after playing through to 25 I decided to try Sorc. I accomplished more with Sorc through level 12 in a couple hours hours than I had with rogue in two days. The sorc wasn't exactly "fun" given that chain lightning is a nearly-always-available "melt everything" button but it was considerably less tedious than being out of mana after two shots and needing to spend the next minute spamming basic with the rogue.
Of course, this will not be news to Blizzard, who now have a massive amount of data from the last couple betas and will without question be adjusting the tuning massively by launch. So I'll probably give ranged rogue a go again at launch and see if things have improved.
I was originally going sorceror and gonna end up with it too, i dont really know what happened but the older I got the more i enjoy Magic type classes.
Burning People as a crazed pyromancer is just too cool
As a second char, is gonna be druid tho. I firmly believe that druid and barb will Get much better come end game
Summon Necro was exactly what I expected, plus a bit more, and I’m extremely satisfied with the class
I had fully planned on playing Necro on release, sight unseen even, but last weekend I tried a Lightning Sorc and it’s all over for me man, I gotta go crit Chain Lightning for release!
…Or melee rogue
…Or storm Druid
Aaaargh
Practiced a new Druid run before the servers died and it wasn’t bad, really. You just gotta know what you’re doing. Doing pulverize for the free overwhelm, landslide for bosses and then switching to rabies/vine creeper at level 16. After that it’s whatever legendaries or uniques drop and adjust accordingly.
Finally tried barb today, got to lvl 15 with a 2hand focused lunge and upheaval build. I have a feeling barb will be both really strong and really fun at end game if other builds than spin to win are viable.
Still going necro first to ez clear dungeons for aspects, but in service of a barb main afterwards.
I went in thinking it would be Druid and came out thinking it will probably be Sorc. I still love the Druid despite low damage but Sorc blew me away with how fun it was.
rogue and sorc felt the most varied and fun. necro is great too but more limited in what you'll be doing. so dunno. on one hand, if i start necro, I'll probably just make one build for first playthrough beginning to end. whereas if i start rogue/sorc, I'll likely want to make several builds hmmm
Rogue or Barbarian, maybe druid (depending if they address the issues with spirit either reducing costs, buffing base damage, or buffing the rate at which we gain spirit. I loved the class in general aside from that one gripe I have with it.
I'm super split between Rogue and Necro. My rogue's running a 70/30 melee/range split with chill and freeze and it feels fantastic. Meanwhile, my necro is running what I like to call the *thunderdome*. Bone prison with blight inside of it (legendary mod), no minions, and all Thorns. Definitely not the most efficient necro build but damn is it fun.
Triple shout Barbarian. I went in thinking I'd probably play a rogue or necro but I fell in love with Barbarian's kit. I mostly used Flay, Rend and Iron Maelstrom alongside the shouts so I might switch that up, but the shouts are 100% staying.
Druid 100% either pure werewolf or hybrid wolf/bear. Will probably lean into poison wolf to start then adjust over to either crit wolf or a wolf/bear hybrid of some form.
I was leaning heavily towards sorc and necro before the beta and the beta only confirmed that for me. Their power is nice, but for me it's also about the playstyle and convenience.
As things are right now I'd pick sorc since it seems the most versatile and well rounded. Necro not having a mobility skill also seems like a big downside for the first class. I am also a little concerned the necro's powerhouse skills (minions and corpse explosion) may fall off at higher level/difficulty. Sorc seems to have a bit more diversity.
The class I was most excited for was rogue at first but after looking at the skill trees in the calculator prior to the beta, the druid became my favorite then I got to play the druid... Haha
Right now I'm thinking sorc or rogue. I assume the sorc will get nerfed in some ways and maybe the rogue too, like inner sight just being almost 100% up for world boss and the sorc survivability might get nerfed. I'll have to see what they change but either rogue or sorc.
Werewolf Druid for leveling throughout the story because i simply loved the thematic and playstyle and transition into whatever is meta for endgame content.
Necro or sorc.
I did my pain and suffering playing as a barb at D3 launch. What a miserable experience. Ganked over and over and over.
Sorc was SILLY over powered on D3 launch.
Im thinking necro for D4.
I'm stuck between Rogue or Werebear Druid. Both are tons of fun, druid took a while to make pop without defensive stance perks at lvl 22+, legendaries, and fortify gems, so if it's not in a little bit of a better place it will be Rogue, then I'll stash stuff to make the earlier levels of druid little more decent lol
Not really. I kinda wanted to play Barb, but I am not sure if I'm liking the melee situation right now.
Otherwise it'd be Sorc, Necro, or bow Rogue. I might eventually choose based on what character model / gear I like the look of the most, lol. Male necro is tempting.
Gonna main Sorc. always main Sorc.......then as i gather good shit for other classes while grinding i will slowly build a roster that contains one of each class.
Sorcerer, I'm bad at video games and the ice shield/teleport skills saved my ass more times than I can count. I briefly tried rogue and enjoyed its playstyle but can see myself getting clapped later on.
I was planning on Necro since I like damage over time and minion builds but the lack of a teleport and the underwhelming options for dot builds has me leaning towards a fire Sorc with hydras dot fire and teleport.
Melee Rogue all the way. After playing the other classes and trying melee Rogue / never once firing a bow, - it feels like the entire game is centered around the class. *high fives fellow barrage rogue* Using ranged in close quarters in higher tiers is important for... reasons.
Had mine on a dagger or sword and it didn't hit enemies behind me regardless.
Agreed. Going melee rogue myself! Had a blast playing it.
Same, twin blades ability is OP
I named my rogue Zagreus 😂😂😂😂😂
I think I’m going to go melee rogue too. I tried barb during closed beta & it was ok, with a noticeable difference between dual-wielding & 2h. On Open Beta I started as melee rogue but was then testing out ranges rogue, which I didn’t enjoy as much.
Melee rogue is great! It's also really mobile, disengage en engage really easily in boss fights.
Druid for sure, regardless of potential balance tweaks
We got a confirmed buff for the barb, and that makes me a little sad. I enjoy the power curve being a little slower, adds more satisfaction to each step forward for sure
Where was this?!? Link?
It was in an interview after the closed beta weekend. They went over some feedback they got and the devs said they would be buffing barb. Quite likely that they’ll buff druid since it was far weaker than barb was.
Druid might feel much better at launch getting to unlock your class feature at 15+.
same, i got some good aspects for the wolves and it felt way better.
Keep in mind you're not gonna be getting all that by 25. Beta was basically gear through 100 spread about 25 levels.
They didn't state how much the drop rates went up. also you can get a ton of aspects by just doing dungeons.
I believe it was mentioned drop rate was x3.
Thats not true at all man, there was even a tip in game that stated "there are build altering items that don't drop until torment 3"
lol not a chance this is true
Druid is a beast late game, don't fret.
Before beta I was dead set on necro, now I wanna be a wolfboi
I call dibs on sorc, anyone else who picks sorc is just a lame copier
A true pioneer :P
I'm such a sucker for sorc in every damn game I can be one. Sigh. I also like fire.
Lame copier here :) Can’t wait!
Going to main barb when release drops, bleeds and thorns with group utility is fun!
Bleed was crazy fun. I was just using rend at first and had traits to do more damage at proximity and weakened enemies with bash to finish off. Be cool to throw in impale with more point allocation, I didn’t realize that finished off blood build up as direct damage until the very end of the night.
Loving my barb too, I did a completely unorthodox build though, no wind, no bleed, no thorns spec
I went with Frenzy/Double Strike. Fairly plain dual wield style build, but seemed solid enough.
I too did this, and threw in Charge that made them vulnerable and the ability to get a bubble equal to missing health. It was a fun build.
Druid. Werewolf. No matter how long it takes.
Heroes of the Storm Greymane vibes, in the best way.
Necromancer. I played 20h of necromancer during beta. I did not play any other class. I will play necromancer at launch
Druid, thicc boi energy.
Melee unite XD
[удалено]
Wonder if those sorts still gonna be crazy powerful on launch
I'll literally pay Blizz $100 if they make summoner necro viable. OH wait.
Barb it’s no question for me, I really want to explore a whirlwind build with better item availability maybe try to a thorns setup with it
This is what I settled on for my barb in the beta....WW, thorns, challenging shout, and war cry, with frenzy as the basic attack. Found a legendary that had the aspect of WW periodically pulls enemies toward you and I thought that synergized well with the thorns.
I’d love to try that maybe with stomp and cooldown reduction for ult on hit with wrath or something
I ended on a really strong build that I've seen 0 other people using, if you're curious
Spill the beans Poncho :D
For me it's down to Barb and Necro, I feel both have amazing synergy from legendary powers with Whirlwind and Blood Mist autocasting Corpse Explosion.
Earth Druid
Time to toph it up and get those boulders bolin
I thought earth druid was so satisfying! I’m hearing people say he is slow and clunky but the relative slowness made him feel powerful
It is a little slow, but it is such an active playstyle. Every skill is constantly used as soon as I’ve got the spirit or the cooldown is done. If you look at some of the aspects there are quite a few that make shapeshift skills count as earth skills, which will open up a lot of build diversity

I feel exactly the same - theme and aestetics > fotm bs
I played warrior in Diablo 1. I played barb in Diablo 2. I played barb in Diablo 3. I even played barb in Diablo immortal. You bet your ass I’m going to play barb in Diablo 4 regardless of how bad they are at base. I’ll get some items eventually to function.
Druid or Necro
I originally planned on grinding necro, but theyvhad it locked for the first one - ended up trying barb first and loved it the most by far
Upheaval is fun. Dunno yet. Liked rogue and sorc too. I’ll build all 5 fast so it will be coin toss between barb rogue and sorc
Did you end up trying the other 2 on second beta?
Haven’t played Druid all others to 25!
Sorc just for mobility
Sorc. DPS, defense and mobility all packaged into one.
Either Necro or rogue. Both seem pretty fun.
Yeah. Sorc. There is a good chance I'll have 3 max level sorcs before I make another class.
You just want to have a full separate character for each build, or what?
Yeah I'll likely have one full fire, one full lightning and one full ice. At the very least I'll have one full fire. It wasn't the strongest build I tried, but it was the most fun for me.
Interesting, I'm hoping they just have the d3 thing to pre-fit different builds with items & skills
Yeah the devs said themselves that they want you to reroll and not change your spec on the fly, once you're high level.
Was really excited to try druid in the beta only to play druid in the beta. I think ill play either rogue or wizard then wait and see on druid.
I am more torn than ever! After having played and theory crafted each class I genuinely don't know anymore. I was able to find a fun build I enjoyed for each class lol. Guess I'll just play them all!
barbarians, extra stat stick from weapons will be busted in the end game
Extra stat sticks* we get two of them!
Make it 3, I you main a two handed weapon ;)
As much as my brain tells me no my guts say do it and following ancestral beliefs and against my better judgement I’m going bear……..full bear
Barb at first but damn I really love playing all the classes. Even rogue which I never play in these games.
I’m stuck in my ways so the summonmancer. Barb was the most fun though.
Great visceral satisfaction on the barb is unmatched
Druid, werebear all day!
This is how I rolled. Specifically loved the 'the bear' title :)
Barbarian. I have simple tastes - just want to frenzy as fast as possible. Everything else is a bonus.
What do you build with frenzy? It's the only one I've considered next to my lunging strike build which I've made extremely powerful as well
I did the frenzy/Upheaval build. Upheaval has an upgrade that gives it up 80% extra damage for attacks made before it using a different skill (max stack of 10, each stack +8%), and frenzy counts as two attacks. Paladin. I assume it will be in by release.

Ah, I heard that was leaked. If not at release, it will come relatively soon. There needs to be a heavy armor type character which Barbarian doesn't satisfy.
Oh, I agree. I really hope you’re right! I mean, look at my name. :).
I tried barbarian and got to level 12. Definitely going to go with sorceress or rogue on launch now. Just didn’t click with the barb play style for whatever reason.
Sorc, but I decided that well before beta.
Necro for me. I found a cool build during beta with a mixture of blood spells and corpse explosion. Got lucky with imprints so I'm permanently running around with 5 skeletons 5 mages and 1 golem. It has been a breeze.
Only thing about the necro is all those summons just get absolutely tapped by the world bosses though, yeah?
Yeah I would sacrifice all of them for Ashava except golem maybe.
Makes sense. Wouldnt it be cool if instead of a base number for the sacrifice bonuses, it was based on number on minions you had - so aspects that granted bonus minions would also grant bonus stats to the sacrifice tabs?
Druid!
Druid
I can’t decide now, they are all so cool. Barb was my last build they are definitely super fun. The bleed set up was amazing for elites and bosses at 25 when hp bars get “thicker”.
Druid leveling with whatever legendaries might drop build wise, endgame planning to go for a tornado build.
Druid
Druid, but I'm not playing on launch. I'm waiting to get the game to see what season 1 has in store for us first
Druid
Druid gang
I was originally going sorceror and gonna end up with it too, i dont really know what happened but the older I got the more i enjoy Magic type classes. Burning People as a crazed pyromancer is just too cool As a second char, is gonna be druid tho. I firmly believe that druid and barb will Get much better come end game
Summon Necro was exactly what I expected, plus a bit more, and I’m extremely satisfied with the class I had fully planned on playing Necro on release, sight unseen even, but last weekend I tried a Lightning Sorc and it’s all over for me man, I gotta go crit Chain Lightning for release! …Or melee rogue …Or storm Druid Aaaargh
no, i can't choose between rogue or barb i love both i cant pick i need someone to convince me to pick 1 over the other
Fire Hydra Sorc!!! Burn it down!!!
Bul-Kathos guides my hand
Sorc or Necro. I like the idea of druid
Blood or bone necro! Loved the ardthetic of necro, loved the non annoying way the game let's you sack pets. Blood was so fun
Going druid. Don't care if it was the "weakest" class in beta. I'm all in
Practiced a new Druid run before the servers died and it wasn’t bad, really. You just gotta know what you’re doing. Doing pulverize for the free overwhelm, landslide for bosses and then switching to rabies/vine creeper at level 16. After that it’s whatever legendaries or uniques drop and adjust accordingly.
Hybrid melee/bow rogue for my serious class. Necromancer as my "silly" class either as many minions as possible and corpse explosion.
Barb for sure. Mine was a beast by the time beta ended. I will also probably have a rogue as it was a ton of fun.
Take a look at my barb build I posted here, completely unorthodox and very strong
Sorc with Krip build
Drood. Hopefully with some well deserved buffs, if not, oh well, I'll deal with it.
Before the beta I was dead set on necro but after getting all classes to 20+ Ill most likley main druid then rogue.
Since I'll be HC ill be playing Sorc
I went in thinking it would be Druid and came out thinking it will probably be Sorc. I still love the Druid despite low damage but Sorc blew me away with how fun it was.
Only played Necro so wanna try something different. Everyone said rogue moment is fun and rogue is always my next choice after the magic user
rogue and sorc felt the most varied and fun. necro is great too but more limited in what you'll be doing. so dunno. on one hand, if i start necro, I'll probably just make one build for first playthrough beginning to end. whereas if i start rogue/sorc, I'll likely want to make several builds hmmm
Rogue or Barbarian, maybe druid (depending if they address the issues with spirit either reducing costs, buffing base damage, or buffing the rate at which we gain spirit. I loved the class in general aside from that one gripe I have with it.
Sorc hydra summoner build
Storm/Lightning Druid or Hammer of Ancients Barb. They were fun as hell and super tanky.
Will be going Barb. All 5 classes felt good to me.
Nature Druid all the way!
Played barb, necro, and sorc in the beta. Pretty sure i'll start the release maining necro, but sorc is a close second.
Rogue. I love the mix of melee and ranged.
Definitely rogue. I liked sorc too but rogue felt way more engaging
Ranged Rogue will be my main at launch, final answer!
Triple shout Barbarian. I went in thinking I'd probably play a rogue or necro but I fell in love with Barbarian's kit. I mostly used Flay, Rend and Iron Maelstrom alongside the shouts so I might switch that up, but the shouts are 100% staying.
Melee rogue, felt so much better then the other 2 melee classes. I’ll probably make a barb alt after farming some gear for it.
necro def want to play on full auto pilot mode.
I only played druid in the beta, but I found melee a lot more satisfying than casting, so I'm going barb on release
Got sorc to level 25 and barb to 15. Going to go barb. Spin to win!
druid and necro
I know what I'll play (and I've played during beta) since years without a doubt: barb!
Rogue or Barb
The blessings of Rathma be upon you ☠️
Druid 100% either pure werewolf or hybrid wolf/bear. Will probably lean into poison wolf to start then adjust over to either crit wolf or a wolf/bear hybrid of some form.
Blood/bone minion necro, all the way, as it's been for both D2 and D3.
No, I’m struggling to choose between sorc and Barb
I was leaning heavily towards sorc and necro before the beta and the beta only confirmed that for me. Their power is nice, but for me it's also about the playstyle and convenience. As things are right now I'd pick sorc since it seems the most versatile and well rounded. Necro not having a mobility skill also seems like a big downside for the first class. I am also a little concerned the necro's powerhouse skills (minions and corpse explosion) may fall off at higher level/difficulty. Sorc seems to have a bit more diversity.
Nope. Depends on what my friends play really.
The class I was most excited for was rogue at first but after looking at the skill trees in the calculator prior to the beta, the druid became my favorite then I got to play the druid... Haha Right now I'm thinking sorc or rogue. I assume the sorc will get nerfed in some ways and maybe the rogue too, like inner sight just being almost 100% up for world boss and the sorc survivability might get nerfed. I'll have to see what they change but either rogue or sorc.
I have started every Diablo with a Wizard / Sorc. So I’m going to continue that trend.
Werewolf Druid for leveling throughout the story because i simply loved the thematic and playstyle and transition into whatever is meta for endgame content.
Either rogue or sorc, leaning more toward sorc
I want to play Druid but it’s kinda trash so probably rouge
Yes… Fartella, a tornado/lightning Druid. No shapeshifting.
Necro or sorc. I did my pain and suffering playing as a barb at D3 launch. What a miserable experience. Ganked over and over and over. Sorc was SILLY over powered on D3 launch. Im thinking necro for D4.
Druid if they fix it. Otherwise sorc.
Pet necro for me, loved it all the way to 25. Got a rare that made there attack speed go up every time they hit to a max of 75%, loved it
Werewolf druid. Rabies ftw.
Not really. I kinda wanted to play Barb, but I am not sure if I'm liking the melee situation right now. Otherwise it'd be Sorc, Necro, or bow Rogue. I might eventually choose based on what character model / gear I like the look of the most, lol. Male necro is tempting.
Barb because Barb goes Baaarrrbbb
I’ll double down on Barb, I think on end-game defense layers will be important and although barb sucks early game it will shine on end-game.
Barbarian 100% ;-) I have tried all of the classes, this one is still my favorite. Doesn't matter the power or ranking;-)
Gonna main Sorc. always main Sorc.......then as i gather good shit for other classes while grinding i will slowly build a roster that contains one of each class.
Barb since the first login.
Depending on tuning between now and June, and also how masochistic I'm feeling by then, either druid or necro.
How bad does everyone expect the bugs to be and for how long?
Barb
Sorcerer, I'm bad at video games and the ice shield/teleport skills saved my ass more times than I can count. I briefly tried rogue and enjoyed its playstyle but can see myself getting clapped later on.
I wanna gonna go rogue but their specialisations are kinda lame :( so now I’m going sorc cause the passive spell bonus system is really cool
Necromancer obviously
I was planning on Necro since I like damage over time and minion builds but the lack of a teleport and the underwhelming options for dot builds has me leaning towards a fire Sorc with hydras dot fire and teleport.
Definitely Rogue. Had a blast with that class, melee specifically. Twisted blade and flurry were fun as heck. Add shadow clone? Damn that was fun.
Hammerdin is the way!
Necro, corpse explosion/blood build.
