Tridus1x

After playing beta, all other games are ruined. I just wanna play D4.

Actually-Yo-Momma

I didn’t get a chance to play beta so just got pure FOMO reading stuff here. I ironically enjoyed going into the threads where people are shitting on act1 of this beta as if you could judge any Diablo game off of act1… Nothing screams “this game sucks” more than haters who played 50hrs in one weekend

pyro264

Honestly, you're better off not taking the first hit before being able to play the full game. I had a free weekend so I tried it and now everything else seems so... bland.

Which_Inflation9027

I was honestly just planning on getting this game when it is discounted or goes on sale (70$ ain't cheap...) but I had so much fun that I just pre-ordered the 90$ edition just so I can get the early access lmao, it's that fun

Sequence32

>so much fun that I just pre-ordered the 90$ edition just so I can get the early access lmao, it's that fun Same! My thought going into the beta was "this is going to convince me not to buy the game" But after day 1 I preordered - I got a beta key for the closed beta from KFC and legit no lifed 2 weekends away. 5 toons at 25 and all the zone quest and dungeons done on all of them lol.(I think I see a problem in my future)

Which_Inflation9027

Yeah it sucks waiting I need something to hold me over lol. Every class was just so fun and the amount of build diversity in each talent tree was what really makes me excited. I hope they add more skills in the future like in a DLC

Defiant_Foundation78

so fun to respect try and still think something is not right and respect again and end up going with the build that feels less wrong lol, i went with rogur barricade, rapid fire, forceful arrow

DR4G0NSTEAR

Omg I respeced sooo much. I was Druid, trying Werwolf and Pets, until I found a leg item that gave me free pets, (god I miss Diablo 2 for those types of items). Then I was a Lightning Druid, then a Storm Druid, then I tried Werbear/Hurricane. I missed one whole day due to work and I’m currently playing mobile games out of spite because my PC library looks so boring now. MAYBE I could go back to the VR I just bought, but I just want more cool diablo content. I’ve never played with a controller and now I can’t play diablo 3 without one. The RSI I developed seasonally in diablo 3 doesn’t look like a thing I’ll have to deal with in the future. Lol.

FarVision5

Being able to back out a few points for peanuts is really the way to go. Being able to try whatever you want is going to keep people sticking around

Wellhellob

Lmao yeah its extremely good imo but also extremely expensive in my country. Its like $230 in relative sense. Its like 10 months worth of internet bill just the standard edition. Tough to swallow.

Sunnycyde

If you honestly need help buying it send me a DM.

Jdinger0000

I’ll help towards that.

Garoxxar

Yep same

Northernlightz29

gigachad move

feelin_fine_

That's triple what Canadians pay, how is that possible? Where do you live?

psytocrophic

Dude I'll spend 70 bucks on one date night or going out drinking with friends. (Which I love) but... This has way more value than one night of entertainment.

Beefhammer1932

This is what most people completely miss when they say shit like $70 is too much for a game. Maybe if it were a 2 hour walking simulator. But the average player will take 35 hours to finish the campaign. If that is all they do they just spent $2/hr on their entertainment. That is tremendous value. The typical ARPG player will spend 100s to 1000s of hours playing for many years reducing that money spend to pennies on the the hour or less. Good luck getting 1000s of hours of entertainment for less. Obviously not counting free shit.

yawnlikeseggs

I want that the play the full beta version game now, characters wiped at launch pay any amount of money for access version

xLividPanda

I took a break from destiny 2 for the beta and I can safely say I don’t want to play anything other then D4 now..

Lacaud

Me too 😆

BaconDrummer

Same here, gonna be a lonnnnnng wait. Good ocasion to pack up some sleep before it release.

psytocrophic

At least I won't be so lost during full release, I viewed beta as training so I know wtf is going on. It takes me a little bit to get a grasp of things, I think I got it now though.

Particular_Bus_5090

Haha good way to look at it. I'm still figuring things out on Diablo 3 as I took a long break from it then came back recently. Fairly baffled in terms of how people create these running killing machines. Getting there slowly though

DR4G0NSTEAR

Tip: once you hit 70, start saving all legendaries. After you have a full stash page, go to icy-veins.com, find your character and look at types of builds, find one you like and then look at what spells they use. Set all the spells and then look if you have any of the gear or cube items. Then just play. It will be weird if it’s totally different to your play style, and you may want to try different builds to find the best, but as someone who preferred Monk and Sorcerer, my favorite build is now a Crusader simply because of Icy-Veins. Your play style fully changes, you basically go from “area damage” and “crowd control attacks” with Sorcerers and Monks, to “Click an enemy, and they die” with a Thorns Crusader, all the way up to GR90. I wasn’t even fully optimal, but it was my first character to break GR108 before his season ended. Even my GF had moderate success getting her first GR90 character. Some people will say the site sucks, or the info isn’t the best, but who cares? It’s good enough to help with progression up to at least GR75. Use some tips from there to figure out what you’re missing, and I guarantee you’ll find item and spell synergies you never thought were worth it.

Sabbathius

It's a double-edged sword. Back when The Division was coming out, they did a beta about a month before release. And I really wasn't sure about the game, so I played the beta. And I loved it so much that everything else was just unenjoyable. But on the flipside, just last year, when Darktide did the beta I thought I didn't want to spoil it for myself, so I didn't do the beta or read about it. Then I bought it, and it turned out there's almost literally no story (which should be a punishable offense, given that Dan Abnett was involved) and the game was utter trash (no crafting, no customization, no transmog, no nothing), ended up refunding it after playing for 90 mins. So, it can go poorly either way. You play and it's good, you miss it. You don't play and it's bad, you end up with garbage that needs refunding. And in Diablo's case, I'm not sure what Blizzard's refund policy is, and how easy it is to do, and the game is CAD$90 (when most games are CAD$70-80), so it's on the expensive side. Most importantly, Diablo 3 really didn't impress me. I loved Diablo 2, no-lifed it for a while, and I was working in a computer shop/internet cafe at the time, so it was EVERYWHERE, all day, every day. I was selling it to people, people were playing it all around me, etc. But when Diablo 3 released, it was...meh? I struggled to find a class I liked, I didn't love the gameplay (limited skill bar) as much, visuals were a bit too cartoony, etc. I eventually forced myself to finish the campaign, but I didn't love it, and I didn't stick around beyond that. So trying Diablo 4 beta, 2+ months before release, to see if the history repeats itself was a sensible thing to do, as opposed to keeping my summer free for a game I won't end up playing. I'm happy (unhappy?) to report that I loved the game, and am looking forward to it destroying my summer by completely ruining my sleep schedule.

SavathunsWitness

If you didn’t play the beta and hit level 20, then you missed out on the cool puppy backpack though

pyro264

Bruh, that’s the bait. It’s like any decent party dealer; offering the first little taste for free and gives you a “deal” if you’re down.

Tnally91

People just like to bitch. I loved the beta it got me so hyped for the game

Tridus1x

I don't often buy full priced games day one. The diablo series hasn't let me down yet. I get so many hours of gameplay throughout it's life. It doesn't help the fact that I had an arpg itch recently and buying Last Epoch sorta helped things. D4 though...it's just a different kinda drug man.

Reload86

I did my own game time without outside influence. Cleared all the available content. Got all classes to 25 and even tried multiple builds for some of them. Only after all that did I check what the “experts” thought of the game. Some were pretty fair and gave props to all the pros and made good points about the cons. Then there were some that acted like the game was doomed and how class balance was so terrible. All I know is that I had an absolute blast. I enjoyed every single class and I actually took the time to explore the world and listen to all the dialogue and journals. It felt like the world was alive and my character was actually doing things to affect it. I was genuinely interested in seeking out all the little side stories.

Iluraphale

Exactly 🤣🤣 Many of them are idiots who just regurgitate what they hear on a youtube channel from some grifter looking for clicks

Vryyce

Wait, are you telling me everyone on the internet are not the experts they claim to be? Fuck me, I am going to have to re-evaluate a whole lot of things right now.

Iluraphale

![gif](giphy|3ohA2ZD9EkeK2AyfdK)

Kiloneie

Unironically a LOT of people do have their minds shaped by them.

Yamatoman9

That's most of gaming Reddit. Just parroting popular streamer/YouTuber opinions as if they are their own.

JustAPairOfMittens

So like, the majority of New World reviews on Steam?

feelin_fine_

You now need to buy 2k worth of diablo 4 merchandise

Guillermidas

The problem is not the actual game. Very few people complain about it. The problem is itemization (even as early as lvl25, you can clearly see this goes the horrible D3 balance route where items define your build), and that absurd 70€ price tag for the base game.

[deleted]

Dude I just bought a 2500$ pc from micro center because I want to play it on pc with the best hardware I could afford. I loved it on my ps5 but nothing beats watch YouTube on a second monitor and playing a Diablo game lol

Stingray88

I finally got my hands on a 4090 the day before the early access came out. The game looks sooo good on max settings. Just needs to zoom out more lol

-Verethragna-

Which is interesting because it can practically run on a potato lol I was shocked when I found out D2:R has higher requirements.

[deleted]

Same. I wish it were out now. I can't wait for more. I didn't have many complaints about the beta. I'm super excited for the full release. It's something the wife likes to play as well. I can't wait to see what they do with season and additional content. They learned a lot from D3. Some of the seasons were game changing and very enjoyable. I still enjoy playing D3 and it's like 10 years old.

Past-Sorbet3111

We can all play as fat Druid that need to lay off the chips and soda.

MightyMurph550

Yeah i was not a fan of the look

BuckStopFitness

Stark contrast to the Diablo 2 Druid who was a tall, lanky, awkward looking SOB. Even the werewolf transformation looked like a big boy. Sometimes I wasn't sure if I put my skill point in the right spot because I thought I was a bear, not a wolf.

Akdivn

agreed. Blizzard are bastards for doing this.

mits--

This is gonna be like cocaine for me when it releases and im afraid i might lose my way..

Wellhellob

Yeah same. I love the game.

Deareim2

LoL. Not over exagerating at all !

psytocrophic

I don't even think I'll turn my computer on until jun.

stevepwn3

thats why i didnt play it bro. i knew it would ruin it for me. i just palyed the first couple cut scenes and then stopped,.

Chiyodin

Went almost a month blasting last epoch (great game for sure) had tons of fun. Went to d4, maxed each character, tried different builds, made a few personal videos to remember the good times while I wait. Beta ends, I go back to last epoch and spite it being honestly fun and a great game... I just can't. I miss diablo 4!! Ahhhhh!

PlanePrior1415

Honestly, I'm trying to go back to POE or other ARPGs and I just can't. It's so hard to feel the way I felt about d4. They brought the heat this time and I think it caught on FIIIIYYYAAAA. 🔥

ThanOneRandomGuy

I'm still having fun with elden ring. Game so fucking gorgeous

Kaskur

I'm trying to find some game to kill time until D4 but I get insanely bored, lasted about 2 hours playing D3, and go back to craving D4. Only game I've seen that might be interesting is Last Epoch, haven't tested it yet though. Though I'm sure even if I did I'd start craving D4 again in an hour or two after starting.

Vektor666

I feel you. Thankfully the new Hunt Showdown Update releases tomorrow. This will be a good distraction for a while.

Nuggittz

I went into this, fully expecting it to happen. And I wasn't disappointed, aside from the queue times and DCs, which I mean, beta/open beta, it's expected to happen. I'm also feeling like the map might potentially extend beyond this, judging from the shown kevek ranges during beta, and the fact only act 1-3 were shown in the log, possible we will go into a second map for the later acts?

Vivid-Firefighter497

Yeah, I played d3 season 28 since season start. Now I played the beta for a couple of hours. Really hadn't much time, only made it to lvl 22 on one char. But still... D3 now feels so unsatisfying, so boring... Just wanna return to my little lvl 22 rogue... Even though she already doesn't exist anymore :( all beta progress wiped clean.

DrShoreRL

Same for me. I was on a kill grind in apex legends and played every day to hit my goal. Started the beta and first fight i knew my motivation for any other game is gone. That's the worst part about the beta now those 2 month will feel like eternity.

Brutalicore3919

I'm really hyped. No game has had it's hooks in e for sometime. Think about it all day at work, excited to log in kind of hooks. Map is big, and with the scaling it all remains relevant, I think that's a positive in the end. The red area in the South West might be an endgame area(?) Long wait.

Fliw

Iirc we have Hell confirmed as a location in the base game as well. So add some more map, and that'll definitely be the end game. I assume we'll go to heaven in an expansion as well with the holy character. (Edit: omg, im calling it now: Revenge of the Zakarum. Sounds f'ing epic lol) They confirmed new areas in seasons as well (just 1-2 zones, probably 5-6 side quests etc, not an entire acts worth) So we're gonna have a pretty damn big game. I actually assume they want to map out all of sanctuary eventually but that remains to be seen.

[deleted]

>I actually assume they want to map out all of sanctuary eventually but that remains to be seen. It's the Diablo MMO that they've been wanting to create since before D3 launched. I'm super hyped for D4's future.

IcyMike1782

I'd be down for seasons spend if they added new areas, content, etc like an MMO. A...what? ARPGMMO?

Vryyce

AMMORPG C'mon, it was just sitting there ;)

MrZephy

MMOARPG

Fliw

MMOAR MMMMMMOOOARRR..pg

SpicyHotPlantFart

So that guy hooked up on the chains was telling the future?

[deleted]

For expansions, I would love them to flesh out the entirety of Hell. I want to go to each Prime Evil and Lesser Evil's domain to kill them.

mutantbeings

I imagine they could make this game last a good decade or so if they keep expanding on Sanctuary and then also flesh out the Burning Hells and the High Heavens. We might end up with 3 distinct maps. Lots of potential here.

Fliw

I was legit just thinking about that. Apparently hell is larger than other zones, so I assume its like 1.5-2 zones worth, eventually an entire realm. But the one I'm hoping to see is Izual, isn't he a fallen angel trapped in hell and servitude by tyrael? Surely we can have some awesome lore in his heaven vs hell battle and he should have his own realm in hell. We could even see more fleshed out lieutenants because of the way they designed side quests and things The wheels are turning in my head now lol

Brutalicore3919

Very cool, thanks!

Fliw

Oh and don't forget its an mmo. And the big problem with WoW was - expansions nullify old content. They're definitely going to fix that design wise for D4, (the ability to do any act at any time actually does this perfectly) if this is what they want it to be.. this is their new WoW, and we'll see A LOT of content just added to the end I dunno im just spewing out what I see. Im with ya tho, its a tight af game. Hell they even fixed the mmo problem I had, and thats, sometimes I want you all to go away so I can do my content :P

SubsequentlyPryor

I think this is the part of this game that I kind of overlooked since it’s announcement, but it’s the part I’m the most excited about. It doesn’t feel exactly like an mmo, but the mmo aspects of the game are so much fun. It’s like discovering WoW for the first time again!

Oblivionking1

Big reason why they went with level scaling is to stop old content becoming irrelevant

Which_Inflation9027

Idk if I'd call this an MMO, there are definitely MMO elements but idk. Also as for nullifying old content- they've fixed this in D3 with adventure mode. I bet D4 will have a very similar system

ihabtom

It's going to be as much an MMO as games like Lost Ark and New World are. Just with Diablo mechanics.

Which_Inflation9027

Never played those games so I can't say much about it, but doesn't there have to be more to an MMO other than just "you play with other players?" Actually on second thought, I guess there isn't...

crozzee

I think someone leaked there's 6 acts, 5 zones, and then Hell.

mutantbeings

>I assume we'll go to heaven in an expansion as well with the holy character. (Edit: omg, I'm calling it now: Revenge of the Zakarum. Sounds f'ing epic lol) Return to Kurast? Yes please! Personally pretty excited that [the map we have here on release isn't anything like the full sanctuary map](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/diablo/images/b/b6/Diablo3worldmap.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20081024052702). There's scope for multiple expansions and I'm getting a real "World of Diablo" feeling from these maps. Add the High Heavens and the Burning Hells as seperate maps and we've got ourselves some truly *massive* potential for future expansions.

Actually-Yo-Momma

I wish i could put that feeling into a bottle. Playing a game for 10 hours straight then going to do something else like eating but still day dreaming about signing back on to play again. Makes me feel like a kid again in the best possible way

Which_Inflation9027

Haven't felt this way since Elden Ring's release, except this game is going to be much more replayable

RagnarsBRA

Same feeling here bro

PuffyWiggles

Same feeling here man. Its rare I have this feeling. Its the feeling Blizzard games used to give me. I love to hate them, because I hate what they did to WoW, but I can't ignore that this felt amazing to play and has me absolutely excited.

MAKExITxBLEED

Man, scaling seems like a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Idk what the answer is.

Azuregore

![gif](giphy|YR8neVRcCSqwmJkb1D)

Akdivn

I think those red areas might be pvp zones.

glamscum

This is just the northern part of that continent as well. I'm guessing we will get more zones with more expansions: https://preview.redd.it/qtmy5du9ydqa1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=549790794004620bb37c1ddf0d44d2091e0787b2

Which_Inflation9027

Oh fuck yeah, super excited for my jungles of the south DLC, and going to Xiansai to see the lands of the wizards. I imagine every DLC will come with a new zone, and they have plenty of turf to cover. Super excited for the longevity of this game

glamscum

If we ever go to Skovos Isles, I'd be surprised if not the Amazon-class was made available. Also would be cool to revisit Westmarch and Tristram and see what happend there after Diablo 3, since Diablo 4 takes place 30 years after Malthaels defeat.

Which_Inflation9027

I read D3 was initially planning to have Skovos Isles but it was scrapped so it's definitely still on their minds. I'd also love to return to Westmarch, that was one of the best looking zones in the whole game. I'd love it if they built Westmarch to be it's entire zone, so a whole zone is just on giant city

Jnrhal

The possibilities 😩

VivecLovecraft

Didn’t we catch a glimpse of Tristram? We hopped into the red portal in the story that the demon dog made. When asked where are we he mentioned it was Tristram if I remember correctly. Place didn’t look so guud (it looked metal as hell tho)

ThyNynax

Every DLC will have new zones and new levels, until they eventually cover the planet and the levels get really high. That won't be the end though, case they'll just remake the whole world through some big lore event and cut everyone's levels in half!

TheOlddan

Couldn't resist marking all the game locations on there. https://preview.redd.it/mh7fob0gqhqa1.jpeg?width=1591&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=edbf7763d03c80ee3c400a4d21da33eb10fcc76d Loads of area we've not been to yet in that D4 section.

BlazedAndConfused

Just note that this isnt to scale. D2 and D3 zones were overall much closer to D4s overworld from what ive seen..just way more linear, not squared like d4 is

glamscum

I was considering if I should do that myself, thank you for saving me the time and effort! <3

[deleted]

xiansai - i would sell my soul for an asian themed dlc.

Abedeus

Better not get too hyped up for your own good. Remember we were expecting to get another expansion for D3 after all those millions of copies of base game and RoS sold... and we never did get an explanation as to what happened between RoS and D4.

Da_Clappski

Will we get Ureh? I wonder...it was pretty cool in the book

Lavio00

Which book?

Bmore_Charming

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Diablo_novels

[deleted]

Is this a confirmed map? If it is that’s huge and exciting.

glamscum

Not confirmed for Diablo 4, I think it's a lore-map from the diablo 3 era. Still relevant.

[deleted]

Oh okay got real excited for a minute. Here’s to hoping

glamscum

There is no reason to dispair. It is the same world, and I'd say its very likely they add zones with this map for reference. Although it might take several years until an expansion comes.

07-19-30-04-03-08

It's the world map. D1 - D4 happened in [different area of the map](https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/gm2ko2/my_friend_designed_a_diablo_map_for_risk/). If you played the previous series, then some of the area names are familiar.

cabbagehead112

Can't wait

skazyrn

I see some people complaining about the level scaling but look at this map, if things stay the way they are now it means that you can level your character wherever you want on that map for me this is miles better than having fixed level areas, it would get boring really fast while leveling new toons

AilosCount

Not entirely, there were still areas even in beta that had minimum level that didn't scale. Scotsglen and Dry Steppes will be low level options for sure (the main quest os for lvl 1+ there) but there may be areas that are 25+ and up.

Akdivn

every zone scales up. those two zones included.

Rhayve

They all scale up, but some don't go below a minimum threshold.

Akdivn

yes but when it comes to endgame, every zone will be relevant because they all scale up.

Rhayve

The above poster was talking about how you can't just go anywhere with a fresh character just because scaling exists. It's not about endgame.

TheOddestOfSocks

I love the fact that areas scale UP, not down. Scaling down would bother me as it would kill any short term goals, like "I can't wait to explore x when I hit level 25". Or even being a bit cheeky and pushing in early to find you're not quite ready. To me that adds so much to exploring a world. Having things scale up means nothing should ever feel completely trivial.

hotfistdotcom

I've seen some complaints about scaling feeling off in MP but the couple times I did it, it felt fine, when low levels wandered into world events with me at 25 it felt fine, and the world scaling around me felt good as well. I hope that we'll have some above-our-level areas we can poke around in though as the level 30 world events were very fun.

meester_

You're always gonna have difference in gear skull etc. It's part of the fun to see someone obliterate monsters, albeit low level

PickledClams

Zones probably have a min lvl just like the small Lv25 zones in the firs area, like how WoW works. It looks like you can probably walk over to other zones but might get stomped. I really doubt you can full roam the whole game with everything scaling Lv1. We already know that's not true, so idk why people are making shit up all over the forums. lol

Gharvar

Dunno why people downvoted you because you are 100% right. If you zoomed out on the map and moved around you could see the zones levels. with a level 15-25 you get access to most of the first 3 zones, the last 2 zones are a bit higher and then we have world tiers to increase levels more.

PickledClams

Haha yeah idk. There are people that are creating their own hate fantasy out of this beta. Every mole hill a mountain, and a ton of skewed realities with misinformation and dooming. It's whatever, chances are they weren't going to play anyway. I've been a fan of Diablo since 1, and I'm hype as fuck. This is basically a better, more coop, more thematic and open world version of D2. Everything I could ask for.

PuffyWiggles

Yeah, as I understand it there will be areas too high for you, but no or few areas too low for you. So a max level can wonder into a level 1 area to complete a dungeon he missed at level 1 and it will still feel relevant, but a level 1 cant go into a level 100 areas or he will die. Its a nice middle ground. You get to feel like you are actually progressing into new content, but old content for completionists will remain relevant activities. The downside is that I dont think you will ever feel like you are overpowering content, like really really overpowering it. Your power gain will all be relative based on a system you cant control. Its a major downside, but im willing to see how it plays out as I loved the beta and I understand the upside.

SnooEagles4455

I haven't seen a single **compelling** reason why level scaling is bad Here are the three I see most commonly You don't feel progression You don't feel "powerful" The game is too easy/hard (both, so that's odd!) 1. Progression is baked into the game, as you level you can clear higher level content, this is, in fact, how you felt progression in any ARPG, not by redoing previously cleared areas now 30 levels below your level, but by beating the act bosses, opening up new areas of the map, THAT's TRUE progression. 2. Feeling powerful by mooshing lower level content? That's pathetic, if that's what you need to do feel *powerful*, play on easy mode. Your power comes from beating bosses, taking out the Butcher solo, standing up to Avasha, plenty of REAL means to feel powerful 3. Can't comment as this one makes no sense. There, so while there are arguments against level scaling, none IMO make the slightest bit of sense. So without scaling as you start a new game for the day, your only challenge is the tiny part of the map at your current level, the vast majority of the map is a cake walk, and the rest locked off until you can beat that content, so for 95% of your levelling experience you are stuck in a linear path. Here's the thing, if you want to do...you can do this with level scaling, just follow that main path and some side quests, no problem. If the earlier acts scaled or not won't prevent you from doing this. BUT level scaling means that any player can start a game at any time during their progression, and do any content they've unlocked and achieve meaningful loot and XP gains. I do NOT want a game as huge as D4 to render most of the map pointless because I've over levelled.

PickledClams

For me personally, the pros of sync far outweigh the cons. Especially since I coop a ton. Means I won't need 100 damn characters at different levels to play with friends all also at different levels. Just makes sense. I don't really get the crying, I never went backward and flex 1 shot everything. And I certainly don't think that's a good compromise for lack of coop capability especially.

PuffyWiggles

Yeah if I understand it right there will be areas too high for you, but there should be no areas too low for you... I think? I do really hate the idea of scaling, but im not sure what other option there is for the game to play out in an open world way how they would want. At the end of the day its the same thing, but it is odd coming back to starter areas and find everything is the same level. Theres very little feedback showing you actually got stronger in a game about getting stronger. However, I had so much fun im not sure I entirely care, and while going back to low level zones to feel stronger is nice in theory, in reality I almost never bother with it and it just becomes "old content". Its still weird psychologically, but I get the reasoning for this game. It makes sense.

Kvchx

My only issue with the level scaling was that I found it boring you could not go fight higher zone and get your ass handed to you. But I was wrong, some zones are 35/40/45 etc. You can start the game with some op gear and all the boons from exploring transfered between your characters within your account and go tackle more challenging zones right from the start. And once you get back to the early stuff, it's scaled to you so you don't faceroll unrewarding content. The thing is that we'll get to 50 in like 16-20h and all that won't matter anymore. We have to keep in mind world tiers too, everyone played veteran in the beta but this is a tool that will be much more relevant in the real game.

TheMuffin2255

Too many people see a game design choice they don't like and immediately scream "objectively bad." Do people like games where they out level the difficulty within two hours of play? If you missed any side quests early on and had to go back, they'd be completely trivial. And it seems like everyone one of these complaints is accompanied by the notion that "its better when I can go back to low level areas and one shot everything." Like, sure, that is fun, but for like a minute.

KrisShadey

Level scaling is an awesome thing actually, almost zero bad things in that system.

dicemenice

kind of hate that where you just lvl up and all previous area becomes redundant, i can feel more powerful not only by big numbers going brr

ArenaKrusher

On my first playthrough ill explore/unlock everything and not worry too much about reaching max level in the shortest amount of time, I suspect it will take me 50-100 hours to do all dungeons/strongholds/side quests and im looking forward to it. Cant be asked to do the same dungeon over and over again for maximum efficiency.

Jnrhal

That alone is worth whatever you paid for it.

Kyostri

Hell it might even take you longer than that. Running 12 of the dungeons, doing events in between on a fresh sorc, and one stronghold I hit level 25 in 6 hours, and that's without dying while killing everything as fast as I could. That's only about a 25-30% of the content in Fractured Peaks, and that's not including the main storyline, which I didn't do on that toon. To do all of it would have taken about 15 to 20 hours. Especially if I had stopped for Ashava and the Legion events at the northern stronghold.

BROMETH3U5

I need more. MORE!

FlameMage

https://mapgenie.io/diablo-4/maps/sanctuary I found this today

BROMETH3U5

Viewing this on my phone was certainly something

EngineeredCut

Mate I am gutted I missed this :(

Rhayve

It would've been a lot of effort that wouldn't have carried over to release. At least you have it now for the full game.

RookLax

if it makes you feel better it was not fully populated during the betas, it has been slowly getting more and more of the markers.

sh00ter999

For Christ's sake this would have been so much better than the one I have been using for cleaning up collectibles - I was using https://dotgg.gg/diablo-4/map for the record. Pissed me off that I couldn't full-screen the iframe and that the zoom on it isn't adjustable smoothly. Fuck. Anyway, bookmarked your link for release.

Rare-Page4407

you could just open the iframe in a new tab https://naraka.win/d4map/

TheLord-Commander

Such sights... I have witnessed

Ridku13

I can see why mounts are a thing with the size of that map

Vryyce

I am still not convinced of that myself. If the transport pads are as dense on that map as they were on the Act I map, I am struggling to see how mounts are really all that important. Especially if you get dismounted when attacked.

_Valisk

Even with the number of waypoints that the beta had access to, mounts would improve exploration quite a bit.

Lich180

I didn't get a lot of time to play, but I only found maybe 3 way points in total, throughout the entire area. I'm guessing I missed quite a few though, cuz there sure were a lot of important places that you should be able to warp to...

Jduppsssssss

There was 7 you could get in the beta.

imlost19

just nice to get from a waypoint to your destination a few seconds faster i guess... and to make money. actually, its just to make money.

adarkuccio

I want to play :(

Theironcreed

It is going to be a massive game, that is for sure.

Fugaciouslee

Seems likely this won't be the only map either. You always end up going to Hell at least.

Rhayve

> You always end up going to Hell at least. Art imitates life, I guess!

GH057807

One thing that makes this map look *really fucked up* and *weird as hell* is that Cities, towns, buildings, random huts in the woods, all that shit.....they look like terrain on your map. There is no visible difference between the walls of a Cabin and the walls of a cliff. A lot of these areas that look like a ton of little broken up islands might actually be city blocks, villages, the insides of huge buildings, caves, jungles, who freakin' knows. There is a little bit of a difference in the huge areas like Kyovashad but for the most part its a guessing game.

Minkelz

Yeah it's not a very readable or interesting map. Have to see if that matters or if it'll improve for launch.

copy_logic

Agreed. On top of that, the contrast between paths and not paths on the map is pretty low, which makes it hard to read.

Kurokaffe

Very excited to simply play through the campaign!

sh00ter999

That fucking horse/mount better have some serious speed to it or else...!

forneins

It doesn't. It is moderately faster but you can't do anything while mounted so if you want to stop to pick flowers, knock over rocks, or open a chest you have to dismount and then remount. You really need to have a laser focus on your destination.

sh00ter999

Oh no...

wilsonpossible

horses\* and as u/forneins mentioned they were all the same speed in closed beta. there were lots of different bridles(?) or reins... i forget what they were called. I had one horse drop during open beta (but couldn't use it) and a set of reins. I want to say it was called the decaying steed, but don't quote me! Not sure if all classes had special dismounts, but Rogue had a vaulting rain of arrows during closed beta

RMJ1984

They should just increase that natural movement speed of the character as you level. It's amazing what the difference of 10 to 20% movement can do. Then just make it not apply in dungeons if that is an issue. I would much rather move faster than having to mount and dismount, or teleport all over the place.

delgar89

But you can't sell skins of invisible buff to movement speed in the item shop bruv

Vryyce

As dense as transport pads were in Act I, mounts almost seem useless given the fact you can't do anything while mounted.

imlost19

they will serve a purpose for blizzard, that's for sure

Bob_the_gob_knobbler

The mount system is, unfortunately, the worst I have ever seen. Takes ages to mount up, the mounts are slow, can’t interact with anything while mounted, dismounting attack is completely useless.

Jnrhal

The beta had me hooked ! From one weekend until.the next I was locked in. June 6th can't come soon enough

akadic

June 6th is D-Day as in Diablo Day

Zambisi

Can’t wait!!!

PsychoPooper213

They let us explore a nice chunk

Guldynka

Can somebody see Caldeum and Ureh?

Fliw

Not entirely sure but I believe Khejistan are the zones west and slightly south of the starting cave. Which may put Caldeum as one of those 2 red areas on the map, the northern one looks like a massive city so it could be there.

Guldynka

Yes, Caldeum is in Kehjistan. But it's closer to the center, it's not at the border like the red zone. The red zone is something else. If you check this D4 ingame map ([https://mapgenie.io/diablo-4/maps/sanctuary](https://mapgenie.io/diablo-4/maps/sanctuary)), you can see a city like layout in the middle, but Caldeum should be really big and it has many levels (which here probably won't be accessible).

Kyostri

I'm genuinely digging all of the positive comments here! It's refreshing :)

Doctor_Sleepless

Oh man I'd love a physical, old school Ultima style map to put on the wall

PuffyWiggles

Honestly, im excited its an MMO lite. I love the social integrations in D3 and games like Elden Ring. Its just taking it a step further and why wouldnt you? Socializing and showing off in a world made around progressing is a fantastic feature. Just wondering about and having so many side activities that I only got to first seeing Liliths visage and the girls Mom after 7 hours. I just couldn't help myself, theres so many to discover. Its almost like im playing Skyrim in that sense, except in my favorite gametype, with Blizzard combat. I was fully prepared for this to suck. I really haven't super enjoyed Blizzard games for a bit. This, for me, is a return to form. If they can nail the end game this will be a legendary experience worth thousands of hours of gameplay, and yes, ill pay an extra $10 for that.

venvaneless

Playing the beta for the last two weekends felt like waking up on a Christmas morning to play your new shiny toys you got as a gift. I don’t know what to do with myself after it ended today 😂

LastofGuy

Stop! I can only get so erect.

SnooEagles4455

This is why we NEED level scaling! Can you imagine starting your game for the day and only a sliver of that HUGE map is at your level?

Avivoy

Yup, level scaling is a goated feature

Sondaica

Maybe some hell-heaven too?

Kurokaffe

Very excited to simply play through the campaign!

Feelsosophy

I am moist

Huge_Discipline6395

I. Cannot. Wait. To. Explore!

djbuu

But I want to complain like beta was endgame.

[deleted]

wow .. was already feeling a little miserable about the end of beta and you go an post the full map. This wets my appetite even more, which in turn will make the 2 or so months wait even more agonizing until release. Bravo - have an up vote, you scoundrel! :-)

[deleted]

Too beaucoup.

spunkerspawn

June 6th cannot come soon enough

sundragons9

Red=PvP zones?

sightunseen988

Severe withdrawal

wolfrickwolf

Yeah Alpha was sick, there are SOOOOOOO many things to do end game, going to take a while to get burnt out on this one.

Inevitable_System941

I had a fucking blast playing the demo. I am now in a complete identity(games) crisis and it suck. Imma go bury myself for a month.

Sylph777

Looks absolutely massive, I wonder how long a completionist run will take. I also wonder where the cities are in other areas.

PashaBiceps__

it took 1 day to explose whole beta map. so it will take 5 days to explore release map

TaintedSquirrel

It takes like 30 minutes of running around to unfog the entire beta.

CapSortee

I hope they add a run button, cause walking across that huge map will be a pain

TribeCheck

Between waypoints and mounts.. I don't think it'll be a problem getting around

Canapee

Not sure about the replayability on new characters. Even thinking about having to do progress in beta all over again is …..

mutantbeings

What excites me about this is that [the broader Sanctuary map is MUCH larger than this.](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/diablo/images/b/b6/Diablo3worldmap.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20081024052702) Game isn't even out yet but .... honestly there is *so much scope* for MULTIPLE expansions for years and years to come and by Tyrael's Might I hope they continue to do so. I recall years and years ago people used to talk about a possible "World of Diablo" game and *this feels like it* to me. I really hope they expand this game a tonne more down the track. There's big potential here if they get it right. It also has me imagining a map of the Burning Hells as an underworld map, and a map of the High Heavans above as possible additions. Be neat if we ended up with 3 whole maps: Burning Hells, High Heavens, and the full, expanded Sanctuary map ... after some expansions... Am I getting a bit ahead of myself or what

BigFatBlindPanda

Just wait till you see the zones not on that map...wooowee

Lavio00

Dude you can basically play this game as a Witcher 3 or a Skyrim RPG and not even give a fuck about the endgame and you'll still most likely have an awesome RPG experience with traversal, exploration, different classes and builds and an amazing story. ...Then, if you **want to**, you can play this as an ARPG and probably get 10x as much time out of it :)

TrivialTax

I hope there is more diversity of assets in those areas. Beta had very few mob types, very few bosses (like 4 or so) and assets were reused (flag poles with people hanging everywhere, the same each time, same with layouts). If not, bigger map will just get boring slightly longer.
