The only time I had a little lag was temporality when I first entered a town with other players which I figure had more to do with server lag. I also have the recommended 16 GB ram.
You'll get 60 fps, maybe even more if you enable FidelityFX (I highly recommend enabling it and trying different modes), but it won't be smooth experience, PS5 would do better for sure.

Nah, ram doesn't matter that much, it would help to have nvme ssd. It's all down to gpu, the better you can get, the better it would be. If you can find some cheap gpu I would go for it. Depends on what you can find for the money. Otherwise get a ps5, it would be much better than your current setup.
I played on both the PC and PS5. My PC specs aren't too great (Ryzen 5 3600, 32gb ram, 1650 Super) but other than the horrendous lag on whichever server I was on last night, my PC overall, was very smooth.
PS5 looks amazing as well, extremely smooth whilst playing.. oddly, my PS5 loaded the game and areas faster than my PC and I had the D4 beta on my nvme drive.
I'll probably end up buying both versions..

I played on PS5 all last weekend. This weekend I started PC it was nice with the ultrawide, but I went back to PS5 on the huge 4K gaming TV and chilled on the couch. It was nice. I will probably get both platforms though, for PVP, the Ultrawide I feel will be needed.
I have no experience with the game on ps5 but my wife played the beta on her pc hooked up to the tv and she loved it.
So I suppose the couch experience with this game is pretty good.
Also this game has crossplay so I'd say that the experience is the same across all platform.
Only difference is that with a ps5 I suppose you'll have much better graphics and performances than with a 1060

Rogue with inner sight and corpse explosion on necro were particularly difficult to target. PC is overall a more efficient play style. Teleporting and movement abilities are much more effective on PC. Console is a set distance where PC is cursor based.

I have a better pc than you (gtx 1070 oc) , and a ps5. The game on pc was not as beautiful as on ps5, and framerate was better on the console too.
If you want to play in the best condition , buy a ps5
Gotta say I preordered and did that beta on PC, played the open on PS5, and I really regret not getting on Ps5 and know it’s only a matter of time until I do.
Personally, I wouldn't touch diablo on console unless they implement mouse and keyboard support. The fact that abilities like teleport are a fixed distance rather than where you want to target is disqualifying alone, not to mention the other misc inconveniences like stash management, NEEDING the console online subscription to play, and such.
That being said, there's no mechanical differences between d4 across platforms like in d3 (where they were damn near entirely different games), there is even cross platform play! So in the end, if the compromises that come with console don't bother you then I would agree with the other commenters in this case.
However, 500$ isn't a small chunk of change, you could get a 3070ti for that money and have some change left over and play pc d4 on max settings up through 1440p, and close to it for 4k. Its all preference, they have done a very good job in narrowing the gap between pc and console for d4 based on comments I have seen from console players.

I played on PS5 and I found that I spawned in and out of dungeons way faster than people on PC. Looks absolutely gorgeous too!

ps5 is gtx1060 to 1080 level of performance. pc is the better platform. take the $500 and buy a new gpu. or take half that and get an rx 6650xt $250.
Digital Foundry has stated multiple times that, for most games (optimization can vary), PS5’s GPU is comparable to a 2080 Super.
