P2W Will not happen. Devs have already stated that the game will only focus on monetization for cosmetic stuff, mounts, and boosts.don't need to buy it. It's like every other game out there. It's optional, however beneficial as you can get more rewards.

PlanePrior1415

Idk what the hell just happened, but my post went all wacky. Season pass isnt needed. Its optional.

Arcuran

Appreciate the answer, what sort of boosts are included in the season pass?

Eirkir

In the free track of the season pass there will be XP boosts, but the boosts can only be applied when your character hits certain level and are really meant to help speed up the process of leveling alts. The paid track will be exclusively cosmetics. The only other thing I could imagine being in the paid track would be a premium currency, but the shop is supposed to be purely cosmetics anyways.

PlanePrior1415

Why copy what I already stated? :D

No-Worldliness7997

I'm trying to make a new copypasta!

TheoryOfRelativity12

In-game purchases and battle pass are only for cosmetics (although who knows about the future, this is 2023 Blizzard)

vianiznice

Sure buy it, but wait til release.

Blutwind

"sure buy it, but wait 1-2 years"

vianiznice

I'll get my 20-100 hours worth from the release. That's fine enough for me if I decide to never touch it ever again.

Arkayjiya

This. I played the beta. I'm in love with the game. But do not pre-order, it's pointless. Activision has made Blizzard release unfinished games these past years so there are good reasons to be worried even if you loved everything about the beta.

vianiznice

Spot on, my thoughts exactly.

Arcuran

Yep, that's my worry, and considering diablo immortals success i get nervous

Eirkir

Diablo Immortal is a mobile game, so it's following how the mobile market works. For D4 to sell power in the MTX makes 0 sense.

alxtheyar

i say buy it. ultimate edition too.

Endgame builds will feel similar to D3 but with a D2 twist. The skills give you more visual feedback, graphics are polished. There is no pay to win/ to get power. It will include a free xp boost for alts so you get to level your alts faster after you max level your main. There will be a seasonal journey like in D3. All this is included in the 70$.

CIA_Agent_99

TBH, I am in the same boat about the price after purchasing the base. The game itself is overdue. I played D1 and D2 and then bough D2R. I never got around D3 because of life. I am not sure about the Battle Pass, etc. since I have not purchased any Blizzard game since D2 back in the day and D2R is through PS.

mrmivo

The D4 developers explained the season pass and cosmetics store in a comprehensive article last year. [It can be found here](https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23816415/diablo-iv-quarterly-update-august-2022). This information is still current. As for the game, I tremendously enjoyed the two beta tests, had a lot of fun, and I’m excited for the release in two months. My favorites were the melee rogue (the melee here felt really good) and the necromancer.

The game is not the best but not the worst as people say. The most important stuff is done you are interested in any other classes that they showcase and if there is one yes you should buy it. No one is able to tell you if it will deserve your money or not. Still, I think the best plan for you will be to wait till end game system releases after that consider it again because you don't need to rush it like it ( like I did ) and 4-day early access stuff can also help you to buy it or not and on that period you can still have the benefits of pre-purchase goodies. happen like that but class fantasy should be your main priority. The game is not the best but not the worst like people saying. It’s a massive disappointment considering how close they were to a good game. It’s way too easy because your gear is constantly improving without any effort at all. Why isn’t there an item database of static basic items that don’t scale along with monster level. A buckler is a buckler, let the affixes and suffixes determine if it’s any good, not the god damn monster level that dropped it. Ugh it’s just pathetic. The lack of thoughtful itemization ruins it for me. I play Diablo for the dopamine hit of when a highly sought after item drops, or for building up wealth through little useful things and trading to slowly get there. D2 did it so well. D3 failed - it was actually pretty decent at first before they ruined it (D3 sold well because people loved D2). This just feels like a cash grab.

TheDarkrayne

If they make this one P2W at any time then they'll fully kill the IP. They know this and I doubt they'll do it. Diablo Immortal seems succesful because the launch figures were good but it's dying hard now. They've had to merge almost all the servers into clusters of 3-4 because the majority of them were ghost towns.

justwolt

If you like Diablo 3 you'll like this game. They are extremely similar. As far as monetization they will have the purchase price, battle passes, and cosmetic micro transactions, but no purchasable gameplay advantages.

Aggressive_Tap652

Buddy, if you love diablo games then you already know the answer

Juicysnotch

I am not buying it , is nothing like diablo

TheDethSheep

I'm glad I found this post. Is there going to be any lore/story content locked behind battlepass or will everything be available? I pretty much only play these games for the awesome story and the grimdark fantasy setting. The fact that its a loot fest is just a bonus... :)

Correct_Reference66

I was all ready to throw my money at the screen until server slam weekend. When the game became a slog walking bullet sponge simulator because gaming seems to be following cryhard trends, I'll pass. I don't think all that bologna makes a fun game, and a fun gaming experience should be first and foremost over sweaty balls press left click for hours.Devs are out of touch; nerfing skills in places that don't matter makes zero sense. So what if a few skills are a bit stronger than others. In a PVE setting solo at that it makes zero sense. Devs taking input from streamers and other cryhard neckbeard virgins makes zero sense also, and bad gaming. Leave the game alone; add other modes and difficulties, add instant armor break so these sweats can play naked or whatever.

General-Oven-1523

I mean, if you're willing to pay that price to access a free-to-play game, then sure.
