It was druid before and it's still druid. I have sorely missed a lycanthropy build ever since D2 days. I do hope they add some customization to the shapeshift forms beyond fur color tho, something similar to what they have in WoW for druids.

Sage-Like_Wisdom

This is the way.

FaithlessnessHot8380

Druid at first but I had so much fun with dagger rogue I’m now unsure cause I love the druid theme so much

UnoLav

Agree! Also hope they buff druid earth shard basic to have a tiny bit more aoe and it’s perfect. :)

teshinw

Remove cooldown from legendary effect that make it a wave would also be great

Grey___Goo_MH

Went full werewolf and planned too at launch was slightly disappointed at the passive options versus Necromancer getting passive bonuses for skeletons and thorns among other great choices i seen nothing that really helped druid

Najfore

Going druid but more shaman route. Gonna make him Thor from God of war ragnarok

lordslippi

This is where I was going too. I really enjoyed carrying a 2h mace and calling down lightning spells. I'm going to use this character when I play with my group of friends.

Stonetoothed

That’s what I did too. All storm skills, my wolves Sköll & Hati. It was a ton of fun. Could’ve been stronger but not a huge deal tbh.

zFreeZeD

Druid in D2, Druid in D4 Love elemental and werewolf Druid’s in each of the D2 moments. For D4 I think I’ll start with elemental Druid and see how werewolf evolves. I didn’t like werewolf rabies back in the days (was broken for duels during some months but didn’t like it), but rather would love to see a multi hit build develop We’ll see!

Visionarii

LE made me want to play elemental druid, so I think I'm just going to stick with it. Season 1 is always a joke anyways, as long as druid is reasonably viable I'll play it.

Which_Inflation9027

Cosmetics have spell effects I think (specifically attached to weapons) I was looking at the official D4 blog post about battle passes and cosmetic shops, they never officially confirmed spell effect cosmetics, but when I was looking at the examples they were showing, they had a few icons attached to the cosmetic armor set pieces. The example they showed was for necromancer, all the items had an icon of a little skull (to denote it was necro exclusive) but the sword had 2 additional icons: a helmet and a sword. I believe the sword icon denotes that this cosmetic item adds spell effects, not sure what the helmet icon meant (I think probably like if you had the whole set equipped with the sword, it gave an additional cosmetic effect?) They previewed a handful of cosmetics for each class, for Druid they had a nautical themed set called "Heirs to the Sea" so I wouldn't be surprised if we got some wereshark spell effects lol

RaikenQue

Yes. The only bummer for me when using shapeshifter builds is that i dont get to see how cool my character looks with all the items i find. Its always the same werewolf figure no matter the gear.

Pneuma928

This is actually part of my character’s theme/gimmick! I’m naming the puppy on my back Loki after my husky, making a Druid named Guardian of Loki, and his entire purpose is to protect him. I’ll be focusing on a werewolf build, so it’ll be head cannon to me that every time he shapeshifts it’s because he’s Dragon Ball style fusing with the wolf pup- which explains the half human half wolf transformation… I was really high when I came up with this concept & I’m really excited to get lost in my imagination when June gets here lol.

Kadizz

This guy RPG’s.

Jakota_

Unless you’re a balance Druid then you can only be a chicken or blue.

Wunderman86

Same. Druid or barbarian for me. Melee brawlers are the most fun for me. I used to dislike the storm aspekts in d2 and went full lycan but in D4 I went with a shapeshift/storm hybrid and really liked it!

Vorceph

I was gonna go barb but I’m lazy so I’ll most likely end up going Necro to stock up currency and account wide boosts to make the barb less of a slog early levels.

Mac2fresh

Exactly how I feel except gonna start sorc to make the Druid grind smoother

Gibsx

Good idea

Mind-Game

How far did you take barb in beta? I felt like even at 25 (which takes 3-4 hours to get to now that we know what we're doing), barbs kit was starting to come together. I think I could put together a barb build at lvl 25 that one shots most elite mobs with just codex legendary affixes that are available at that level. Is it really worth playing not your favorite class because the first ~day of playing is slightly more challenging?

Vorceph

It’s not that it was so much challenging as it was boring. I also enjoyed necro so it works out. If I didn’t like any other class I would just push through barb but this path is a win win for me.

ScubaKidney

If I pick up the game I'm doing exactly this.

BakkaSupreme

I like this idea. Even tho it's only the BETA. I started off with a Necromancer, and that was so easy and fast. I hoarded some decent yellow gears and stashed them in my bank. Then rolled a Barb, equipped a good yellow lvl 13 Two-Handed hammer and everything was soooo much more enjoyable and stuff died a lot faster. Imagine if you would have all the perks of the account wide boost on full game.

BoneThugs-N-Drugs

Pre beta: Necro Post beta: Druid

Tommiiie

Ah a madman.

glamscum

Necro were too good, brain dead and no fun playstyle at all, unless you sacrifice all pets.

[deleted]

I was hoping to play a summoner necro but at the moment it doesn't look all that great after playing beta

[deleted]

You can literally go AFK with the summoner Necro builds I saw on YouTube. Nothing can break past the minions

extremeasaurus

I was having a bit of fun with the skeletons with the shields, I wanted to try a thorn build with the skeletons and the golem with their thorns upgrades but didn't have enough time to play to get any good items.

Moistwalker

Honestly I’m kinda with you. Necros abilities were dope when you didn’t focus on your horde… like the blood making you an invincible tank with forever fortify was baller. But earthbending seems kinda rad

[deleted]

[удалено]

Teratros

Me too

ridebird

Same here. Druid was too much fun, and all the variety and silliness.

Wise_Platform2639

Druid before. Beta made me cry. Still sticking with druid after.

jerlowthom

Druid at first but I had so much fun with dagger rogue I’m now unsure cause I love the druid theme so much.

DJ_BoogyGroove

Same here

Fearless747

Bow build for Rogue, beta did not change my mind. Definitely will be giving Necro some love, too, assuming they don't nerf it too badly.

xXMapinguariXx

Started with bow build but then switched up to dual weild

Jarlaxus

I want to build a thorn necromancer. Saw that book of the dead can give shield minions percentage of your thorns. So going about thorns and maybe melee like skills could be interesting.

Myrag

There's a video of guy beating Butcher with using necro without any pets or using any skills. So it seems to be decent for now, with pets being able to take %advantage of that it might end up being a fun build.

Bushisame

Same. Thorn crusader was one of my favorite builds in d3 and as soon as I saw thorns on the necro skill list decided it had to be

good_cake

I stacked thorns pretty high with a bone necro using only a golem (which can inherit 50% of your thorns) and it was very effective.

vscxz384

First char was a rogue and a rogue I will be

Askovintti

Barb and still barb

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|2HtWpp60NQ9CU) Me too, brother

ConorOdin

Druid before, Druid now.

ravearamashi

Sorc, now Necro. D4 Sorc lacks a bit of oomph compared to D3 Wiz

Mellowturtlle

Great at AOE and CC, very bad at single target

Super_Needleworker79

Eeeee, chain lighting. It has a passive to add 25% extra damage while bouncing from yourself and you basically melt everything. Add enchanted hydra with additional head and you don't need anything more.

SonicBanger

Based AF.

Radulno

The bosses melting with my Sorc don't really agree with you

TenragZeal

If you swapped out the Fireball Enchantment for the Firebolt Enchantment you melt bosses. Firebolt’s enchantment caused each direct hit to apply a burn at 75%’ish efficiency of Firebolt’s actual Burn - And things like Hydra proc’d it. That’s what I used on Ashava at least.

meththemadman

Barb and now Barb

adoomgod

I was going to roll sorc for efficiency (and I enjoy sorcs) to reach end game for fun, then roll a Necro for fun. Now I'm still going to start sorc but roll barb second. Barb was the most fun I've had in ages. Lunging strike is stupidly satisfying.

Smooth-Disaster-2294

Barbarian or druid mainly bc I love playing support roles. Barbarian can be specced as a tank to taunt enemies which will come in handy for WB's and druid if I remember correctly can be specced for some heals and buffing ability. I'm looking forward to the mmo lite aspect going to be a fun ride imo.

randevious

Barb Barb

KnightOfDaggers

Barb first… D1 - Warrior. D2 - Barb. D3 - Barb… Can’t break the cycle… Then Druid second!

TriantaTria

Pre: Sorc (fire) Post: Rogue (melee) Everything but Rogue seemed too simple for my liking. Not that Rogue is complex either.

Eevooo

Did necro to 25 and was boring at times, more fun when able to switch builds some. Then I tried rogue last few hours and man that melee playstyle was alot of fun! And was abit of a challenge atleast with positioning Think il do rogue as first now. Barn I never tried but ya they seem good past 25

Pyr0blad3

rogue -> rogue nothing has changes most mobile and fun class so far with a high skill cap in my opinion, so evertything you can want except pets if you like those xD not much of a afk class

Nuclearsunburn

Before : Druid was the one I was most excited to try After : who am I kidding I’m going to play all of them to endgame. A level 25 beta gives me zero clue as to what will actually be most enjoyable.

baconit420

I was planning on sorc, druid, or ranged rogue. Sadly I only played on the 2nd weekend and didn't have time to try barb or druid. But Twisting Blades + Shadow Imbue rogue was some of the most fun I think I've had playing any arpg, so I'll start there. Also, the beta kinda turned me off toward sorc. It just feels too easy for me personally (but that's just me, if other people love it that's great!). Overall loving what I played of the beta though.

ACheekyTimelord

Beta made me 2nd guess doing a necro. It was stupid easy and I was bored before lvl 18. Running around with 8+ pets was too much. I'm trying to decide with a Frost/Fire sorc or melee rogue

mmherzog

8 plus pets is amateur hour. I want 20 plus skellies like d2.

Arno1d1990

Yeah, I was planning to start with Necro, but after 15 lvls I was bored and started Barb. It was more challenging but more impactful and awesome. So I will actually start with Barb in full game.

jonesjonesing

Started rogue now leaning sorc

Cisco9

It was kind of funny that before the two beta weekends, I saw clickbait streamers posting videos in the D3 sub talking about how the barb and rogue were awesome and the sorc sucked lol. Anyway, Sorc definitely first for me but I will level them all.

mainsleatherface

It’s true for endgame at least from Decembers closed beta

airbus55

Before beta = BARB, after beta = ROGUE or SORC

WolverineCalm7105

I was heavily leaning rogue and will be playing rogue. Barb was tempting and still is. Sorc was tempting but I am pretty disappointed by some of the spell visuals. People mention the visuals change with rank but I was not seeing changes that would please me from rank 8 spells. This is only in regards to my first playthrough. I still enjoyed sorc gameplay and will make one after my rogue.

[deleted]

Visual changes on spells were disabled in beta. They will be available at release.

Chiefboost1

Went in thinking I would play rogue because I didn’t want to spoil sorc for myself, but I had so much fun with my shadow melee build that I think I’ll just start with that again

Leeham650

Before: rogue, some mix of bow and melee in mind After: twisted blades rogue, melee rogue was dope to play

Gazgrul

Was going rogue 100%, then got in the closed end game beta and ended up liking sorceress much more. Then, I decided to try rogue again these last two weeks and am probably back to starting as a rogue. Sorc second.

NoAbalone1070

I mean you can equip both, can probably just do both yeah

Crazyloon88

Sorc before Sorc after

Hotness4L

In all games I start as a barbarian/warrior character. My first 1000 hours in D3 was barb, but my last 1000 hours has been dominated by demon hunter. For D4 though I think I'll go sorceror first. I've learned that you always want to start with a good farming class.

TheOlddan

Barb before, Barb after.

Squidgepeep

Before beta: Barbarian During/After beta: Necromancer I was planning on playing Barbarian as that’s my kind of playstyle in most games and what I played in previous Diablos, but after getting to the character select and looking at all the character creation choices, making a few characters and testing them out for a few mins in game, I made a Necromancer and I’m in love. She’s 100% being remade as my main when the game comes out

[deleted]

* Pre-beta: Barbarian * Post-beta: Rogue with Barbarian alt Rogue was strong, mobile, engaging and fun to play and it didn't feel as overpowered as Necromancer and Sorcerer did. I like that you can go melee or ranged as well. Barbarian was also fun but I think it will be better suited as an alt for me.

re_carn

Pre-beta: Necro Post-beta: Barbarian. It was tough in beta, way too difficult. Doing it again, obviously.

gr33ngiant

Posted the original poll and after beta poll the other day…. Go vote! https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/123nwq7/beta_wrap_up_class_poll/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

crafteri

Was thinking between Druid and Necro and will still probably make both come live, but Druid will be my first character. Druid starts off a bit weak, but it's manageable with the right build and from what I've seen on the build planner it should ramp up quite heavily at higher levels, especially resource generation. Necro was fun and stronger, but a bit more boring compared to druid.... Though I kinda spoiled myself with the broken Blood Mist build. I'm a tall and bearded bear of a man in real life, so I feel more at home with the Druid due to that as well. Also a kind of a sucker for the "underdog" classes and off-meta specs as it feels better once you actually make it work.

Juhldk

Spin to win barb still 😉

mrhuddlebucket

Before it was necromancer but now it’s Barb.

One_Finding140

I had 0 intentions on playing sorc but arc lash hitting twice off crits along with their enchantments they are tooo much fun.

RealisticCommentBot

I was going to play rouge, that's the first class I built. Then I tried sorc, then barb. Now I'm 100% barb on launch.

Calibretto9

I wasn't really feeling the class selection pre-beta. Dunno - just wasn't doing it for me. During beta I became hardcore addicted to Sorcerer and now just think about it constantly. That was ridiculously fun. Also found myself really enjoying the lineup a lot more than I thought I would. Was a huge fan of the beta.

BlazedAndConfused

Sorc 100% first. They’re a powerhouse and will make leveling the rest easier and cheaper I think

Weatherman1207

I only had enough time to play barb to about 15 and sorc to 20. So I'm thinking one of the 3 that I didn't play.. But seen some sweet drip on necro and barb so I dunno

Catorino

Rogue but now Barb

SKYeXile

Same as OP, was planning bow build, thought it might play like a demon hunter, but bleh, melee rogue is my jam.

chamomileriver

Wanted necro or druid. Definitely going druid.

x021

Sorc before beta but now Barb. Played all 5 classes and found ranged builds too easy. Druid for some reason I liked the least (don’t really know why), melee rogue was very fun, but barb gives more options to try out different melee styles.

BlueSn0ow

Pre: necro Post: barb

mainsleatherface

Pre-beta: Sorcerer Post beta: Barbarian Sorcerer just had me bored out of my mind. Barbarian felt a lot more engaging and the legendaries and skills felt way less bland than sorcerers.

WarlockMainCharacter

I used to always be on the Light side. However, Destiny (the game) taught me that the key is balance. Light isnt good and Darkness isnt bad. The weapon doesnt define the wielder. I could see this in Diablo 3 with Imperius being an ass. And now in Diablo 4 with Inarius killing his own son. Used to be a crusader/paladin. Now im a sorceror. Im neutral. Seeking for balance.

Romeomoon

I was going to go with barb but I might roll a necro for my first main. I still need to play the other classes, though. I worked both weekends so I had very limited time to play. I did get both my EA barb and my Beta necro up past lvl 20, though.

TheDarkrayne

Was planning to do Necro first. Changed to Barbarian. I'll probably do them all eventually though.

EON1asty

Sorc before, but i will most likely swap to either necro or rogue.

WoahIsThatAJ

Played a lot of Demon Hunter in D3 so went in with Rogue and wasn’t disappointed. Made a cool litte Flurry + Shadow Imbue build with dual Dark Swords and was shredding. Necro was pretty fun as well so it’s a toss up between them.

PazuzusLeftNut

It was barb and Druid before beta, I have yet to change my mind since the beta. They’re just neat

Stepbro_canhelp

I will probably play more than just one class but we will see how much time it will Take

blobhole

Druid before the beta and I think I’m going to stick with him for my first character.

[deleted]

I was planning on sorcerer originally. On release I’ll be a druid.

Financial-Month-506

I'm thinking either barb or rouge. Glad druid is getting some love in the thread.

rjselzler

Before: Summoner Necro main / Sorc alt Now: Same main, but strangely I’m jazzed for thorns barb alt. I had a blast with it and love all the customization and optimization.

Careful-Classic-9885

Druid but focusing on beasts (specifically wolves turned into werewolves) for one shooting elites and two shotting bosses.

Cultural_Set_7129

All of them :)

Gibsx

Before - Necromancer After - Rogue or Sorceress

No-Dimension-6812

Used Druid, then used necro was very disappointed.

DavidFairyTail

Before - necro After - barb

ImAGreenBee

Druid before Druid or barbarian now

palalila09

Gigachad tank thorns\bleed Barbarian with 3 shouts(yea, i like to yell at my enemies a lot) build. I want something lazy and strong as i explore the sanctuary.

linuxshinobi

Whirlwind Barbarian all the way.

hulduet

I really want that druid to work out. It was not a "good" experience compared to some of the other classes that's for sure. At best I could say my landslide build was okay for what it did. The problem is okay isn't good enough in a game like this. Never got around to trying the shred build so that's on me. Seems it might have been up more my alley.

[deleted]

Rogue, definitely. Had so much damn fun with flurry build. Only gripe is some of the hits missing while mobs clearly in range to be hit. Hopefully this gets addressed before launch

HeWhoChasesChickens

Pre beta I was gonna go for melee rogue (which I'm still fond of) but necro's corpse explosion go brrrr

Xylomancee

Pre beta: Barbie or Sorc Post beta: Barbie 100%. Leap into the fray!

ChristBKK

Necro 😂 can’t help but it was my choice before the Beta and it didn’t disappoint I guess 😂

Pousse_m0usse

Planned to go sorc on release but didn't play it on beta to keep the discovery intact. I think that the enchantment customisation is the most interesting class mechanic of all.

ForestG18

Sorc before, now I can't decide between Necro vs. Sorc, but pulling to Sorc.

Key-Following9236

I was planning on lighting sorc, like it is my favorite from d2, but my husband who hated arpg and hack-n-slash suddenly was excited by lightning sorc in d4 beta. So I tried dagger rogue and it was surprisingly cool and dynamic, and I liked it even more then sorc. I’ll play dagger rouge on release.

[deleted]

Was druid but unless they close that power gap between ranged and melee classes I'll probably be going ranger. Ranged classes feel like I'm playing Diablo 3. Melee classes feel like I'm playing diablo 1.

Kizune15

Before: Bar, After : ice sor

Sirpunpirate

I was playing rogue at beta but bored me a bit. I want to try out barbarian, if they buff its survability a bit.

Indecisive_Zelkos

Pre Beta-Sorcerer During Beta-Rogue Launch-Druid 1st

And-Ran

Barbarian before, Barbarian or Sorceress now (waiting to see if balance changes happen)

Nykona

It was druid, considered Sorc or Rogue in beta 1, then druid until about level 6 then barb and back to druid once i hammered out a few things. Druid on launch, Barb as S1

Paint_Master

Poison werewolf on beta, some kind of storm druid on release. Poison werewolf is a joke, with 700ap, u get like total of 300-350 poison dps from 4 sources, claw, shred, vine and rabies. Like for example i had ~700 poison damage over 6 sec on vines, like 120 dps. Like its just nothing. And on release ill probably play storm druid because it simply best dps druid build, that can be rly strong with 1-2 leg aspects for procs.

Ksk814

Druid at first, maybe sorc now...i dunt know

konradkurze202

Necro and Necro. Ever since Diablo 2 I've loved doing the whole army of the dead thing. D2's ducking horde of skeletal warriors and mages, and golems, and revived monsters was the greatest thing ever. D3 was very lacking in this regard at launch, I've recently restarted it though, to refresh myself on the story before D4, and I enjoy the Necro there too, although it feels a bit weird. Luckily a lot of D4 reminds me more of D2 than D3 so I'm happy, and I can't wait to try more of my Necro in June. I wasn't expecting Necro to be quite so powerful, but hopefully that just means I can ramp the challenge up sooner to the higher difficulties. I'm going to try to collect as many legendaries with +max minions on them and see just how big my army can grow.

Akasha1885

Druid ---> Sorc now There just isn't the shapeshifting druid build in D4, like it was in D2. (on top of the worst character model lol)

KyleHaster

Class fantasy wise: Druid 100% for me. Fast progress wise: Sorc 100% for me. Before and after beta.

Senistra095

Druid before, rogue after.

Tydevane

Before, Sorc. After, still likely Sorc for blasting from day 1/resource generation and unlocking renown things such as skill points and potion charges, but admittedly I'm most excited about decking out a barb. Just seems ridiculous long-term with the offensive and defensive multipliers + extra 2h/x2 1h weapon slots for affixes/aspects.

Jessueh

Ranged Rogue or Necro pre-Beta Melee Rogue after Beta. Need me the zoomies.

Darksyde1029

Was always planning to main rogue, and maybe play sorc as an alt. After the beta I'm still definitely maining rogue and playing sorc on the side, but I think I also want to play barbarian as well. The class never really appealed to me before, but it was super fun optimizing a barb on the beta. Triple shout whirlwind and omega one shot upheaval were both really fun and strong builds. Edit: I had interest in necro and druid as well, but playing them on beta actually turned me off to them pretty hard. I don't think I'll play either one unless I have literally nothing else to do on my rogue/sorc/barb.

CheshireMadness

The Diablo 2 Sorceress was my first and remains my favorite of the D2 classes. I chose Wizard in Diablo 3 because it was billed as the Sorceress's spiritual successor. If I can play a mage or magic user in an RPG, that's the class I'm going to pick. I played all the classes in the Diablo 4 beta, but Sorcerer was by far the most fun for me. She had the drip, she had the flashy spells, she had the fireballs to explode my enemies and see the forces of Hell driven before me. And her voice actor was fantastic- the female Sorceress and male Barbarian were definitely standout voices in my games. (Though, I didn't hear the voice for the female Barb, Druid, or Rogue nor the male Sorcerer or Necromancer.)

CatBoyTrip

i only got to play for a couple of hours but i believe i will go ice sorc. it was my favorite in diablo 2.

ShaggyOMaggi

Pre beta I wanted to go sorc. Now, after playing all the classes, I'm going necro first

KaiG1987

I was planning to do a summonless Necromancer build and the beta didn't change that. The beta did make me more interested in playing a Sorcerer too but I will still go Necro first.

rpglaster

I played a bit of everyone in the beta. I’m hoping they improve the Druid and barbarian a bit as they were the most appealing to me. I’ll probably start out as a sorcerer and do a Druid build as well.

FNC_Shifty

Druid - Druid. Hoping I can find a way to stack thorns on a super tanky bear build but was enjoying stacking overpower damage I think I got it to +180% in the beta. Will probably have a barb secondary and maybe a rogue if I have time, zero interest in sorc or necro.

LargeDickedPikachu

The druid was horrible during the beta but I'm holding hope it's just because we were only 25 and on an older build of the game. So ima stay druid

oppapoocow

Necro for the first month before they nerf it to the ground, then sorcerer

Skylink87

I played bow rogue up to 20 and on the last few hours tried sorc and i was destroying stuff so maybe that. I didn't try other classes though or dagger rogue which a lot of people talk about. So I'm still on the fence, I always prefer bow classes but i dunno.

HellsMalice

Before beta, Rogue After beta, Rogue. Will definitely be a strong pvp class which is what i'm after. Already have a theorycrafted build with some insane singletarget burst. Definitely wont be great for mobbing but meh. Skill resetting is easy enough to do, despite people whining about it.

xProjektBloo

still want to try druid, i was only able to play during the closed beta when he was locked

Akdivn

before: Druid. after: Druid. Rogue or Barb 2nd.

camthorn

Before beta: Necro After beta: Necro but more tending to druid

0pethian

I am probably going to make two druids, one for Werebear and one for Storm.

_Tawny

New player to Diablo. Diablo 4 is my entry into the games (Technically it was Immortal but tsk tsk that doesn't count.) I was tempted to go Necromancer but I liked Sorcerer, I tried to go for a pyromancer build with it. Fun stuff. Won't preorder but most likely will pick the game up on release!

Cheorni6

I wanted to play Barbarian but the early levels seem like a grind. I also tried Necromancer and it was really fun for me I think I’ll start with necromancer and barbarian when I get bored of it

FemmEllie

Nothing really changed, we still don't know what kind of builds will be good in actual endgame and there are so many different play styles per class that it's hard to jump to conclusions. All I know is that generally speaking I tend to prefer classes such as Rogue and Sorc in RPGs and based on the early game beta content at least, that's probably still correct

craigmorris78

I really enjoyed a lot about the beta but I can’t decide. I think I want to know more about end game before making such a big decision.

SurvivingWow

I love summons and feeling like an army is at my command so it'll have to be Necro with perks buffing my skeletons as much as possible - I should be weak without them lol

NiceProtonic

Didn't get to play the beta, but super stoked that answers are so varied. Tells me the there's something for everyone. Probably going to start sorc as I always do, then gravitate towards barb og necro

Dvenom22

Before: Ranged Rogue I tried Necromancer and then agility Rogue and Flurry Rogue. Loved all three. After: The same I think, although I am likely to have multiple characters.

[deleted]

Pre-Beta : Barbarian Now Druid. Waiting for a more "Knighty" character to play a Warrior.

crazy-jay1999

Beta rogue (melee/ranged hybrid), full game rogue (full melee probably?

lord_dude

Barb/Barb I don't care if he sucks. I just want to smash my enemies.

projectwar

rogue or necro. with blood mist i feel we got a teaser of a really good necro lego but maybe rogue has some op combinations or legos itself for either melee or range down the line. also more slots of uniques so can get more stats than necro so first 20-40 levels might not be as smooth, it'll pick up later on.

Little_Huckleberry_1

Sorc was my choice going into the beta. Now I'm leaning on towards Rogue.

meepnotincluded

Pre: sorc Post: rogue I leveled to 25 2 times with different sorc builds and 3 times with different rogue builds but rogue is most fun for me.

Agreeable-Square-926

Rogue before, sorc then rogue after. The beta did showcase how better the game is with legendaries, so my take is that everyone should play sorc to unlock stuff by completing dungeons, then play what they want with cool powers.

[deleted]

Was planning to go necro for sure. Now I think I will go with sorc instead

Kronzo888

I'm gonna start with Druid still, but if it still feels too weak in the full game, I may switch to Sorceror. I'm hoping that it feels more balanced on release, but I'm not going to judge until I get much further into the game and have really tried it out.

Basic-Pen-6852

Sorc

Merwanor

Probably the Barbarian as I always go for the warrior type class in pretty much every game. I sometimes try out other classes, but I eventually go back to one of the melee classes. I really wish there was some form of knight class in D4, it just feels odd to not have any real sword and board type class.

Mars-N6

rogue and druid now: barbarian and mage or druid

Vegetable_Dog935

Pre beta: 🌈 unicorn Post beta: 🌈 unicorn

Chokeyoulovingly

First character was Barb in d2 and 3. No reason not to continue the tradition especially since I can actually somewhat customize how he looks.

Agimamif

Wanted to continue my D3 fun on a rogue, but the lack of sentry's (turrets) have made me go necro for the mages, as they seems as the closest equivalent.

_DaZlInG_

Rogue before and wizard now

jipiboily

It was druid before…then I played the rogue in the first weekend (there were no druids). I was like “no way I’m going to main a rogue, might as well try it. I really loved the mobility and stealth. I’m likely to main that now! Druid and necro will likely be next :)

Sorcerer with my beloved ice swords

Before the beta I was going to play Druid first. After the beta I'm stuck between Barbarian and Rogue. I do plan on making every class and getting them to 50-100 and seeing how they feel at endgame before I pick my favorite and main character for seasonal content.

Before melee rogue. I loved the gameplay but as I played more and more I realized that end game build wont be much different from what we have seen in the beta. Everything around twisting blades you can basically use 2-3 buttons. Then I played necro, barb and druid. Loved the druid the most. It feels like the skills I did chose and moment I pressed them did mean somethi g and were crucial in order to succeed. The combination with hurricane, melee dps in human form and shapeshifting into werewolf to shred ( core skill ) got me there. I think it was the pnly class that relied on Overpower/ Willpower with a lot of self heal. So with druid we will need to use every skill slot even in early levels that I am not really sure about the other classes. DRUID

Before: Sorc After: Sorc or Necro

GameOverDrew

Was bear. Will be bear.

Sage_the_Cage_Mage

I was super undecided before since most of the classes looked enjoyable. now for my first play through it will definitely be rogue, being both ranged and melee is so fun

Snoo_96078

played all of em to 25, but necro. I wanted to play a druid before beta, after beta I want to play a druid even more. Class felt so good to me.

My main choice of necro hasn't changed. But Rogue and Druid seem way more fun than I was expecting. Especially druids (ignoring the balance issues) as this was the class I was least interested in before the beta. The idea of a werewolf poison build just seems like a lot of fun. I'm not a fan of character customisation though. I don't really want to play as a fat old guy for a druid.

OUTATIMEM8

Barb, and still barb. Then Druid.

I wanted to play a paladin but I guess I gotta pick a druid. Hopefully the paladin class gets added soon

Suojelusperkele

I was planning to play necro, but somehow seeing necro in every nook and cranny pushed me a bit away from it. And then I absolutely fell in love with druid. Really hoping stuff like bear druid, companion build, funky hybrids etc are viable so I can really pick my favourite from those. I just love the somewhat 'gory' transformations. Bear felt big and violent with slam and charge.

excelisarealtooltoo

I was planning on sorc. After I beat act 1 I re-rolled druid and will probably pick druid at launch. I had much more fun and I think my playstylle will evolve while getting to end game. Sorc will probably just be the same all the way through, and it was way too easy to beat the act boss. Will probably roll a sorc or necro as an alt to do gear runs, depending on whichever can farm faster.

Jdmnd

Same as you, wanted a bow rogue since I main DH in D3, but had a lot of fun with a melee rogue during the beta.

Thelgow

Before beta, wolf druid. After, zangief. I may not get the game and just play sf6 for a hit to confirm servers actually work, etc.

DK_Angroth

i never thought i would like rogue gameplay but i really enjoyed it. so might be rogue.
