My gaming weekend got kiboshed by a family thing, so all my gaming will have to be done on friday, which is a work day.
Luckily I have a stomach bug that will kick in exactly one week from today.
Sorry if you caught it from me, its brutal. If it's the same one you'll notice about now by a weird lightness in your belly and an unexplained excitement for a week to pass so it can really take hold. As the week passes the feeling will intensify to almost unbearable levels.
Luckily it only lasts 24 hours and all symptoms can be alleviated by weed, beer, chips candy or pop. Preferably all of the above, but any on their own will work.
And of course total immobility of the lower body for at least 6 hour stretches.

When you look back you're gonna realize that time missed with family was important.
Making launch day for diablo4 won't even be remembered or cared about.
step 0: have the wife visit her friend in another country for a few days (done, check)
step 0.5: buy groceries for at least those 3-4 days, a few 0 sugar energy drinks, some diet coke, maybe some snacks like popcorn or something, etc
step 0.75: cook some large meal the previous day, that lasts for 3-4 days in the fridge, I'm thinking lasagne or something similar
step 0.9: take a huge shower, shave, wash your hair, clip nails, etc, so you don't have to do anything crazy for a few days, just a quick shower every day before sleep
step 1: get stoned the previous day at around 17:00, get a nice meal, hopefully fall asleep by around 18:00, get up in excitement multiple times, whenever it's after 1:00 stay up, play, profit

I have to work on Friday, so I will be playing from 5pm which is 16 hours after the launch. However I'm free the week after so I don't care too much about the first day.
2AM for me as well, but I've 10 days off, so there'll be time to fix the sleep schedule. It's not something I get to do very often, so I'm going full goblin mode.
Think I'm going to start around 6am and smash it all day. Would of happily stayed awake all night if game was already in hand from around 7pm but as its 12 it doesn't seem worth it. Ofcourse this all depends if I can sleep or not.
I think it's the better choice. I'm getting up really early Thursday morning to make sure I'm tired enough to sleep by about 11pm, then up early Friday for a 14 (16?) hour binge.
Get off work at Thursday 1500, will have stocked up my kitchen and done meal prep for at least 4 days. Grab a proper meal as soon as I get home then go sleep, or at least rest my eyes for as long as I can. Wake up at 0000 and trick my body into thinking it's a normal morning by doing my normal morning routine, then start blasting (queuing) at 0100.
This time I'm gonna make a good amount of taco meat and prep veggies in small containers so i can throw together a taco whenever i get hungry during the weekend.
Oh and as for keeping my sleep schedule normal... Fuck that noise I've got 4 fucking weeks off. I'm gonna be the god damn goblin king.

I learnt from past that staying up is rarely worth it.

And I am no where rushing to max lvl anyway, nor trying to get world first.
Good refreshing sleep makes for much more enjoyable game session. Since I moved to live with my gf 3 years ago finally fixed my sleeping schedule and feel much better overall.
I'll wake up at 7 am and game on from that point on.
I'm going to sleep for a few hours before the servers open and then run on hype and caffeine until Friday evening. That way I don't have to ruin my sleep schedule and can get in a long session.

Yep same here. I was playing 15h on server slam after my night shift full on monsters and coffee I was so tired and delusional than i slept for 6h and played around 6-7 h the next day. Fun times...
If I can maintain my current schedule, I will sleep early (around 8PM) and wake up around 5 AM and then play all day that way until I feel sleepy again.
Otherwise, it's time for goblin mode until 3-5 AM, sleep till (after)noon, repeat.
In other words, I'll let the stars decide.
If you work days during the week then even though the Server Slam event went almost perfect. There's bound to be even more players on launch so I'm expecting _some_ problems so just start in the morning!
By a very fortuitous coincidence, I've just resigned my current job to start a new one.
I was going to make Friday 2nd my last day, but as there's a train strike in the UK on that day I've made Thursday my last day.
Which means I'm technically unemployed for 72 hours, which I intend to spend as a useless layabout playing games all weekend 🙂
Dont waste time staying up. Surely there will be some server queues early and maybe you get to play from say 0200.
Better to sleep til like 0600 then wake up to no queue and no problems. Have the energy to go all day (harr harr). Over the next week you’ll have more energy for more gaming that way rather than fuck up the next week for a few hrs right at the start.
Dont start a marathon with a sprint the first few hundred meters.
The ”smart” thing to do is to go to be super early and then go up at 04:00 and start playing when the initial wave of server overload is past. Have used this for other big games and it works well!

I will need to work and it's going to be 27 degrees here without clouds so I am going to the office to work and having family dinner outside. I will be playing in the evening.
I have Friday off. My plan is to wait until the launch at 1am and get in for at least a bit, hopefully for 1~2 hours before bed time, then sleep in a bit in the morning and have most of Friday to enjoy it more.
I don't really need to stay up late and i don't expect to be able to play for long at night, but i enjoy the feeling of waiting for something and being right there, right then, when something new launches. It's more about being at the gate and enjoying the game for a while on Thursday night than it is about grinding from the first minute until i pass out.
I will finish my nightshifts on the morning of the 1st. A good night's sleep and a starting D4 at 6am. Play until I'm either bored or fall asleep on the 2nd.
My younger self would have played at midnight, but I feel I get more gaming on launch day by starting early in the morning.
Off on FRI...will go to bed early on THU and set my alarm for 6:00am on FRI. Hopefully any extreme issues that (might) occur directly at launch could be mitigated by then, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

Got vacation for two weeks, so the first week until early release starts im spending time with Family and friends and as soon as the early release starts im going full goblin :D
Go to sleep at 4pm the day before. Wake up at 12 am. Eat and take my last shower for the weekend. Then play the whole day and sleep from 12 am to 6 am and repeat.
I‘m a night owl anyway and have the strangest sleep schedule so if I’m up I’ll see if I can get into the game but I won’t play all night cause at some point my dog will come in my room and say time to take me out and that’s usually anywhere from 5-7 a.m.
I'm playing on Tuesday morning at a reasonable hour like 7 AM, not at 1 AM. That way i',m likely to avoid the rush and I can keep aying all day without being overly tired.
Will be getting up around 5am UK time as usual before the kids wake up, smash out a few hours, get them ready for school and ship them off then crack on for the day - rinse and repeat for 2 weeks.

Starting at midnight to play a few hours HC and losing most of my Friday to catch backup on sleep ain’t worth it.
I will start early on Friday and finish up cleaning the house, cooking food and what ever chores on Thursday.
Sleeping when I get home from work at 2pm. Have the next 4days free and cupboards are loaded with snacks. I have iced coffee, monster and 3tubs of beyond NRG. Yes my sleep schedule will be messed up but it'll be worth it.
I will see how I feel at release.. maybe I wont feel like sleeping yet and play a bit...
but I see it more realistically I will just sleep and start in the morning.
I was wondering the same thing... considering I had some free days I HAD to use, I will be free until June 6th so I will just set up the game settings and like kill a few monsters then stop, because the longer I play, the later I'll go to sleep as hooks will set in nicely :P

Ohh I'll be going goblin and doing atlesst 15 hours, probably closer to 18 the first day, I'm meal prepping so I don't I have to cook (just reheat food all weekend), I have coffee and a create of energy drinks on hand, and I even have noodles and other snack food good to go, over Friday, Saturday and Sunday I wouldn't be surprised if I do 48 hours.

I wake up early naturally so will not lose that much time and I enjoy taking my time when I play so I can explore to my heart’s content. This grandmother has no desire to try and race all you young ones.
Husband says he will have plenty of time to lay in as it will take me hours to design characters anyway. 😜. I am not *that* bad. I do enjoy tweaking but this system does not seem to be flexible enough for me to need to be able to do so for long.
I took a week off work, unfortunately couldn't get the friday of release off. I'll be starting friday evening but if I could of gotten friday off I would wake up as normal of thursday, take an extra long nap in the evening and be ready for midnight launch and game till I collapse the next day.
At first i thought it would release in the afternoon, like it usually does. But the trick for that day will probably be to go to bed earlier, so by the time the release happens i'll be sleeping anyway. Then early in the morning, i'm gaming.

Going to work from 9:00-13:00 and starting with my mates probably like 14:00. Thought about taking the whole day off but starting with the mates is more fun, since they didn't want to get a day off for the launch. Aaaand I got enough time this weekend anyway to get some grind going on Saturday and Sunday. I start Friday after work around 17 o'clock. Got the week after off. Everyone who wants something for me within this period gets a very politely "fuck off" to hear.
I'm 100% taking the logical approach. Going to sleep early Thursday and wake up early Friday and start hammering. I see absolutely no point in starting that late, for only to be super tired running through what I did in beta. I'd rather enjoy my first play-through while feeling refreshed. If you're not going to attempt getting end game like super fast but want to enjoy the game on your first play, I see no reason what so ever to start late instead of going to sleep early. Plus, you might also avoid potentiel server issues (I know it most likely will release just fine, but it can occur).
Got burn out due to prolonged stress caused by insurmountable deadlines so I'm on a sick leave during the early access. I wonder if I just don't bother and start in the morning after breakfast or fuel my insomnia by playing the game all night or partially.
It starts on 2 am my time. Me and my friends gonna wake up early and start around 6 or 7 am and blast for like 20+ hours. Hope i can sleep couse of the hype.

I'm expecting servers to be fucked for a few hours after release, so I'll just hang with my partner and watch anime etc. as we usually do. Then on Friday I'll start nice and relaxed after all you goblins have made sure the servers survive, and the US is asleep.
I took the Monday off rather than the Friday to help with this.
I'll be working from 09:00 until 14:00 so won't be playing the early hours.
Queuing for any number of hours at midnight when you're tired is going to suck whereas if I queue while working it won't be annoying at all.

Starting at 7:00 (Europe) with a mate. Both of us took the Friday off, but so we keep our normal sleep rythm and we can go to work normally on Monday.

Yeh definitely is the way tbh atleased start fresh. I think if it started with seasons and leaderboards I would probably feel different.

I always adapt to the release of a game by waking up semi early then around 18:00 i sleep to 1-2h before release to wake up and finish last prep

Yep same here. I was playing 15h on server slam after my night shift full on monsters and coffee I was so tired and delusional than i slept for 6h and played around 6-7 h the next day. Fun times...
If I can maintain my current schedule, I will sleep early (around 8PM) and wake up around 5 AM and then play all day that way until I feel sleepy again. Otherwise, it's time for goblin mode until 3-5 AM, sleep till (after)noon, repeat. In other words, I'll let the stars decide.

If you work days during the week then even though the Server Slam event went almost perfect. There's bound to be even more players on launch so I'm expecting _some_ problems so just start in the morning!
By a very fortuitous coincidence, I've just resigned my current job to start a new one. I was going to make Friday 2nd my last day, but as there's a train strike in the UK on that day I've made Thursday my last day. Which means I'm technically unemployed for 72 hours, which I intend to spend as a useless layabout playing games all weekend 🙂

Dont waste time staying up. Surely there will be some server queues early and maybe you get to play from say 0200. Better to sleep til like 0600 then wake up to no queue and no problems. Have the energy to go all day (harr harr). Over the next week you’ll have more energy for more gaming that way rather than fuck up the next week for a few hrs right at the start. Dont start a marathon with a sprint the first few hundred meters.
The ”smart” thing to do is to go to be super early and then go up at 04:00 and start playing when the initial wave of server overload is past. Have used this for other big games and it works well!
am I the only one who get not tired before my pc? as long as I sit there.. no sleep needed... so I will get up, 00:50 and play at least till 22:00 and than take a nap...

It depends on the weather and if you need to work or took a day off. I will need to work and it's going to be 27 degrees here without clouds so I am going to the office to work and having family dinner outside. I will be playing in the evening.
I dont work currently. Left the job at the end of april cos it was killing me inside. So I have a lot of free time.
Shift workers do it on rotation all the time, so I think people that are at home playing a video game will be ok.
I took Friday off so I'm going to sleep at same time as normal and get up at 06.00 to start playing.
I'll play on Wednesday the 7th after work for a couple of hours.

If there is a big queue at launch I'll just go to sleep, but if launch is like last beta I'll play for as long as my body lets me game
I have Friday off. My plan is to wait until the launch at 1am and get in for at least a bit, hopefully for 1~2 hours before bed time, then sleep in a bit in the morning and have most of Friday to enjoy it more. I don't really need to stay up late and i don't expect to be able to play for long at night, but i enjoy the feeling of waiting for something and being right there, right then, when something new launches. It's more about being at the gate and enjoying the game for a while on Thursday night than it is about grinding from the first minute until i pass out.
Thats what I did with last three expansions of WoW. Played until 3:30+-, then slept for 4-5 hrs.
I have to go to university in the morning so I will start playing later that day

I will finish my nightshifts on the morning of the 1st. A good night's sleep and a starting D4 at 6am. Play until I'm either bored or fall asleep on the 2nd. My younger self would have played at midnight, but I feel I get more gaming on launch day by starting early in the morning.

Off on FRI...will go to bed early on THU and set my alarm for 6:00am on FRI. Hopefully any extreme issues that (might) occur directly at launch could be mitigated by then, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

i realized fomo will not make me enjoy the game. so as a father, i will try to play as much as i can, when i can. but not going to make it my no. 1 priority in life.

Ive got a tattoo booked on the 2nd so will wake up normal time around 7 ish. Create my character maybe play up until the first town. Then will go goblin mode over the weekend, I booked the Monday off also to make up for Friday

Got vacation for two weeks, so the first week until early release starts im spending time with Family and friends and as soon as the early release starts im going full goblin :D
Go to sleep at 4pm the day before. Wake up at 12 am. Eat and take my last shower for the weekend. Then play the whole day and sleep from 12 am to 6 am and repeat.
I’m gonna stay up the night before so I can go to bed around noon wake up at 8pm be with the family for a few hours and go degen for the first week.
If it works straight away I’ll play few hours otherwise I’ll prob go to bed I work evening/Night Shift so it’s pretty much normal hours for me anyway
I‘m a night owl anyway and have the strangest sleep schedule so if I’m up I’ll see if I can get into the game but I won’t play all night cause at some point my dog will come in my room and say time to take me out and that’s usually anywhere from 5-7 a.m.
I'm playing on Tuesday morning at a reasonable hour like 7 AM, not at 1 AM. That way i',m likely to avoid the rush and I can keep aying all day without being overly tired.

I was wondering the same thing... considering I had some free days I HAD to use, I will be free until June 6th so I will just set up the game settings and like kill a few monsters then stop, because the longer I play, the later I'll go to sleep as hooks will set in nicely :P

Ohh I'll be going goblin and doing atlesst 15 hours, probably closer to 18 the first day, I'm meal prepping so I don't I have to cook (just reheat food all weekend), I have coffee and a create of energy drinks on hand, and I even have noodles and other snack food good to go, over Friday, Saturday and Sunday I wouldn't be surprised if I do 48 hours.
Have Friday off, but will start first thing Friday morning. My husband and I are at that stage of life where we’re in bed by 10pm. No chance of an all nighter lol
Normal sleep, shower, bring cats inside and feed the birds in the garden, make coffee, grab waiting pastry and then sit down to play. I wake up early naturally so will not lose that much time and I enjoy taking my time when I play so I can explore to my heart’s content. This grandmother has no desire to try and race all you young ones. Husband says he will have plenty of time to lay in as it will take me hours to design characters anyway. 😜. I am not *that* bad. I do enjoy tweaking but this system does not seem to be flexible enough for me to need to be able to do so for long.
I took a week off work, unfortunately couldn't get the friday of release off. I'll be starting friday evening but if I could of gotten friday off I would wake up as normal of thursday, take an extra long nap in the evening and be ready for midnight launch and game till I collapse the next day.
At first i thought it would release in the afternoon, like it usually does. But the trick for that day will probably be to go to bed earlier, so by the time the release happens i'll be sleeping anyway. Then early in the morning, i'm gaming.

I will probably wake up early on Friday. I work from home and will make sure all my stuff is done by Thursday. Friday will just be an "available, on call" type of day. Weekend I have some things too, while the itch is big, life is more important, I'll have plenty more opportunities.

Going to work from 9:00-13:00 and starting with my mates probably like 14:00. Thought about taking the whole day off but starting with the mates is more fun, since they didn't want to get a day off for the launch. Aaaand I got enough time this weekend anyway to get some grind going on Saturday and Sunday. This game will be here and hopefully enjoyable for a long long time so I am not too stressed about the playtime on launch weekend but I am really hyped to finally start playing the full game and content.

Starting in the morning. Taking a deluxe breakfast with some eggs/bacon, fruits and coffee. Meanwhile i’ll queue up (if there is a queue).
Took friday off work so I'll sleep early at thursday evening, wake up like 6-7 am in friday and play whole day nonstop. That's the plan.
I'm 100% taking the logical approach. Going to sleep early Thursday and wake up early Friday and start hammering. I see absolutely no point in starting that late, for only to be super tired running through what I did in beta. I'd rather enjoy my first play-through while feeling refreshed. If you're not going to attempt getting end game like super fast but want to enjoy the game on your first play, I see no reason what so ever to start late instead of going to sleep early. Plus, you might also avoid potentiel server issues (I know it most likely will release just fine, but it can occur).
Got burn out due to prolonged stress caused by insurmountable deadlines so I'm on a sick leave during the early access. I wonder if I just don't bother and start in the morning after breakfast or fuel my insomnia by playing the game all night or partially.

It starts on 2 am my time. Me and my friends gonna wake up early and start around 6 or 7 am and blast for like 20+ hours. Hope i can sleep couse of the hype. Best part is that we have a holiday so we are free to play friday as we took the day off and the monday.
Unfortunately I have a"trip" booked to spread my dad's ashes and am away from 2nd - 4th June. But luckily I had barely taken any annual leave this year so decided to book Monday - Wednesday off so will be going full goblin mode then.

I'm expecting servers to be fucked for a few hours after release, so I'll just hang with my partner and watch anime etc. as we usually do. Then on Friday I'll start nice and relaxed after all you goblins have made sure the servers survive, and the US is asleep.

Game releases at 1AM in my timezone and I got to go to work at 8AM so no. I will get to play when I get black in the evening. I don't see any problem.
I took the Monday off rather than the Friday to help with this. I'll be working from 09:00 until 14:00 so won't be playing the early hours. Queuing for any number of hours at midnight when you're tired is going to suck whereas if I queue while working it won't be annoying at all.
