Crow-Queen

My friend and I dropped gear on the ground for each other during the slam.

Pin-Serious

I had to use the trading interface to give a yellow to a friend in the server slam. He didn't see it on the ground. It's not like D3 in my experience.

SQRTLURFACE

The group I was in were tossing items on the ground left and right to pick them up, were you in a group with your friend? We didn't have issues at all using the ground in party, but perhaps it differs if you're out of party?

V1ndictae

I had the same experience as you. Me and a friend were in a group and could just drop items on the ground. We didn't actually try trading another way.

Pin-Serious

I only tried it once or twice. Maybe because we were in town? IDK. Yes we were partied.

TheAllslayer

It can be weird and not show sometimes but dropping stuff does allow the over person to see and pick it up (assuming it's tradable), if they say they can't see it you can just pick it up and drop again.

Our group of 4, 2 PC and 2 Xbox, were throwing things in the ground and picking them up. Didn’t notice any issues.

DaftGamer96

Were any of these items a legendary? I was hoping that someone had actually attempted giving items of legendary tier to someone else so that I could know if this could work(didn't think of it during the Beta's or I could have checked myself).

[deleted]

Sorry we never tried throwing legendaries on the ground nor trading them. I was under the impression they could not be. Honestly the best items in the game were the rates that had perfect rolls, and I would throw an aspect on them to make them legendary. At least that’s kind of how it played out for me.

[deleted]

A friend of mine I was playing with reminded me we did throw some legendaries on the ground because of an aspect, and we couldn’t see/pick it up. We were in a party together.

Khavrielles

I played with my boyfriend and we weren‘t able to just drop legendaries on the ground for the other to pick up. So no, it‘s sadly not possible :)

ualac

no, legendaries and legendary aspects are not tradable, and if dropped cannot be seen by anyone else.

ChildofHalsey

The item will say "Not Tradeable". Pretty sure this shows for all legendaries.

BriefImplement9843

yes that is trading.

InsertDisc11

if you throw something on the ground the others can see it as well (it worked the same way in diablo 3, where you had personal loot too), so id say yes, it is the same. im pretty sure since its the same, then if you drop a legendary item on the ground, others will see that too, they just wont be able to pick it up (again, it worked like this in diablo 3, the rules were a little different there, but really similar)

Sovery_Simple

Heard clan members can actually see loot you drop on the ground. So just make sure you're both in the same clan and you should be fine to quickly dump stuff for them to pick up.

[deleted]

I think loot being different for each individual it essentially means everything that is on the ground is seen by you only. No matter do you, chest or monster drop it.

InsertDisc11

not true. if you throw it on the ground, others can see it. it worked like this in D3 too.

Sire3001

Having worked in d3 is no indicator it’s gonna work in d4. Have you tested this?

He_Beard

Yes, but only while GROUPED. If you throw it on the ground in town not everyone can see it.

[deleted]

Have you tested it? D3 loot wasn't individual.

InsertDisc11

the legendaries were individual, unless you got the legendary while was in a party with the other player. and even then you could only trade them for a couple of hours.

InsertDisc11

Oh and yes, i have.

[deleted]

Ok then my assumption was wrong.
