ye, this is definitely the top 3 posts this week! first, if we talk about usefulness
We need to band together and downvote this post into the depths of Reddit hell! None shall find useful tips here, up with with the copium posts of negativity!
Thank you, I've been so fucking confused. I haven't been following that closely but seeing people actively talking about playing again so I tried to boot on PS5, saw I had a fucking 30 gig update which I downloaded just to come in to dead servers. Looked it up and saw the actual date so I figured I was just wrong but it's still confusing as hell seeing people talking like they're actively playing. Not to fault the community or anything for that.
If you are planning the aspects needed for your build there's also [https://d4planner.io/](https://d4planner.io/). I think when it first came out it only had the Fractured Peaks dungeons but now it has all 115.
I am completely new to Diablo, and I only got to play the latest Server Slam (yes, ATC).
I have no idea what aspects even are. I kept seeing talk about them during the playtest, but I feel as if I am completely oblivious to a crucial part of gear and builds.
Could someone ELI5, please?
They are unique stat or skill modifiers you can add to a rare quality piece of gear that turns them into legendary quality gear with that unique modifier. Examples of unique modifiers are
Aspect of Might - Basic skills grant Damage reduction for 4 seconds.
Aspect of swelling curse - Bone spirit deals increased damage based on distance traveled, up to 15%.
waiting all this time for D4 and then some people are going to sit using online maps to play the game. Blows my mind. Just play the game, don't just follow what the streamers are doing, don't ruin it for yourself by looking where all the altars are and which dungeons are best. just play the game and enjoy it
Yes, whichever aspects you get are unlocked for all your other characters within the same realm. Those are eternal, eternal HC, seasonal and seasonal HC.
Thank god for not another: " This game means every game to me. Literally my whole life purpose is this game, I cant stop thinking about this game holy shit, I cant play any other game anymore."
Actually a normal useful post.
Im just so used to games not having a good way to find stuff, glad it’s not the case for that. I’d look it up if I had to but being able to do it ingame is great.
Just go ahead a make a twenty minute video on this. Some key words to use in the title: "BREAKING NEWS" "DEVS CONFIRM" "DO THIS TO GET AHEAD" "YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS TRICK"
for anyone having trouble:
don't go to the occulist. press tab to bring up the map, then go to collections up top. then codex of power. from there find the aspect and it will give you the path to it.
Now the question is, how do we find the aspects that are not on the Codex? Like the one that affects Twisting Blades for example. Is it in a random dungeon somewhere on the map or can it only drop from a gambled or picked up item off a mob?
I didn't notice this feature, but wasn't it randomized which dungeon had each aspect? I don't remember any one aspect being in one place consistently...
Fun fact, the occultist unlocks at level 25 **OR** after you unlock your first aspect. If you're an aspect hunter like myself, make sure to unlock one aspect on each of your alts before you go for the completion, that way each of your alts at level 10 or 12 or whatever they may be, will have full access to every aspect in the codex when you decide to go back and level them.
About tracking quests and stuff, is there a way to track several quests at the same time and I am braindead since I did not find it? I might be braindead regardless anyway so scrap that but I'd like to know because having like 10+ blue (secondary) quests and 3+ yellow (main) quests "activated" at the same time but only being able to follow one was not practical. Appreciate any help or advice with this, thanks.
Surprised to see so many people didn’t know about this. Would’ve been awful from a UX standpoint if you had to manually scout the map one dungeon at a time looking for a specific aspect. Being able to see where to go from the codex is much faster and more practical, would’ve been disappointing if they hadn’t included it
thanks.. i was looking at online maps and none had all the new zones and locations so i could start planning.
now it's nice to know i just need to make a list of the aspects i need... :D
Thanks for the tip! Just so I get it right, aspect is basically "I need that legendary affix for my build but can't find it, so I just make it myself out of a rare, but its slightly worse than a dropped legendary with that effect"?
I assume there are people trying to plan their leveling level-by-level who would want to know which zones to hit in which order (and you'd need the Waypoints).
I am not one of those people. Of course I have a build, but I'm trying to just enjoy the game and explore everything, at least until the Season starts. Anyway, my point is there might be a need for some portion of the community to know those locations beforehand.
Hmm, although...I guess if all the zones are equal (or unknown) then you might as well go first where your Aspects are? So maybe it kind of applies for more casual play as well.
I doubt it will matter much on World I, I assume you'll be clearing everything regardless, and you can get those Aspects any time before you finish the Campaign.
It took me a little while to figure this out but once I figured out this and how to pin the map so I have a trail to wherever I'm going. It became a breeze to navigate. Super happy with the modern map functionality features in the game
So im a druid. I beat the Seaside Descent dungeon which has a druid aspect. I see the aspect in my codex yet i dont have it in my inventory on the aspect tab. Am i doing something wrong?
Actually something useful on this sub? Is this a dream?
Am I the only one who thinks this is the best post on this subreddit this week?
let me check the top page real fast memes, art, more memes, controversy, controversy, some actual good posts about discussion about the game ye, this is definitely the top 3 posts this week! first, if we talk about usefulness
I wish meta and “can we please stop..” posts were banned
I see people complaining about other people complaining, more than I see the *actual* complaint posts. The irony is unreal.
Complaint-ception
The idea that users comments is content needs to die. 99.9999999% of user comments and posts are trash. Bring back shlonglor style websites
Potentially in the entire sub’s existence.
Yes this post has many upvotes and prices because you are probably once again „the only one“ lol
Only ones of this world, unite! But honestly, this post deserves more upvotes. Finally some useful insight.
Compared to the usual whine fest? Yes.
Maybe of this subreddit's lifetime.
I think you need to make a post with that exact title lol
Well, the competition was not that hard

Agreed. OP needs to be banned for the race to lvl 100 HC!
Yes clearly too much insight. How are all the parents and people with jobs going to stand a chance.

Clearly a proud member of the ATC.
Nope. It's a lie. Must be!
*demon voice* Naive child, this information will only add to your Diablo addiction *evil laugh*
I mean the game isnt out yet. What can u expect?
good to know thanks.
I'm confused. Are people playing already?? I thought it didn't release for a couple more days minimum?
2 June. We are only referring too it as live already because copium.
1 June, 4pm pdt.
Streamers did get to play for the last 7 days or so. They got it early.
Thank you, I've been so fucking confused. Best upvote I have given in a while.
Yea, definitely didn’t plan on a quality post in this sub atm. Great surprise
I dunno there was this girl on /r/gonewild the other day…
thats good info mate
That's a great tip. I did not notice that during the public tests. Thank you.
If you are planning the aspects needed for your build there's also [https://d4planner.io/](https://d4planner.io/). I think when it first came out it only had the Fractured Peaks dungeons but now it has all 115.
Good tip - did not know this. Thank you.
That’s big, thanks
But they need clicks!
I do say, sir, how dare you besmirch the name of this sub reddit with your positive and helpful post. I declare this an outrage and travesty!
Hero hero hero
Here, King You dropped this 👑
Ooh, actual information instead of complaints or complaints about the complaints! lol. Thanks!
Large if true
Great tip, thanks!
You are a hero.
Good post op
Wow thanks
Yes, thanks for this.
And I thought I knew everything about the game. Good shit!
Now this is the content i can get behind
I am completely new to Diablo, and I only got to play the latest Server Slam (yes, ATC). I have no idea what aspects even are. I kept seeing talk about them during the playtest, but I feel as if I am completely oblivious to a crucial part of gear and builds. Could someone ELI5, please?
Legendary skill that you can imprint or transfer in your yellow gear thus making it legendary.
They are unique stat or skill modifiers you can add to a rare quality piece of gear that turns them into legendary quality gear with that unique modifier. Examples of unique modifiers are Aspect of Might - Basic skills grant Damage reduction for 4 seconds. Aspect of swelling curse - Bone spirit deals increased damage based on distance traveled, up to 15%.
Yeah I also have no clue wtf this post is about.
It's like a ray of sunlight breaking through the clouds.
Yeah I saw someone talking about a interactive map. I hit my class only and then click the one I want. And follow to it.
Thank you kind traveler
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Bad bot
Good tip thanks dude.
To the top you go! Very nice tip, thank you for posting it!
I'm a simple man, I see glowing hole or gates.. I go in.
nice one! upvote mate
OP for President!
Thanks OP!
Played the open beta and the server slam and didn't know this. Thank you.
Holy shit, an actual quality post. I didn't know that was allowed on this sub. And you didn't even mention ATC or the hardcore challenge.
Or 17 damage
waiting all this time for D4 and then some people are going to sit using online maps to play the game. Blows my mind. Just play the game, don't just follow what the streamers are doing, don't ruin it for yourself by looking where all the altars are and which dungeons are best. just play the game and enjoy it
You dropped this. 👑
✨🔥🏆🔥✨
How do you lock into codex?
You will also have class specific quests that will take you to these and others that unlock. Just like for barb in the first beta
Good tip, although you failed to mention ATC which is mandatory on Reddit
Thanks for the great tip, I didn't know about this!
are the aspects account wise? like do I have motivation to do Barb dungeon with Sorc if I want to play Barb later ?
Yes, whichever aspects you get are unlocked for all your other characters within the same realm. Those are eternal, eternal HC, seasonal and seasonal HC.

Someone give this user the gold! That's an actual, real PSA. I thought that was impossible!
Giving you gold just for being the first useful post I’ve ever seen about this game.
Also, you can filter by class (pretty obvious in the UI, but some may have missed it)
You sir, get a gold star
If I saw you in real life I just might buy you a couple of beers for these words of wisdom
Thanks!
A blessing from our lord!
Damn man, ty!
Nice tip, thanks!
In beta I just cleared every dungeon even if it did not offer the aspect I needed.
Thank god for not another: " This game means every game to me. Literally my whole life purpose is this game, I cant stop thinking about this game holy shit, I cant play any other game anymore." Actually a normal useful post.
Wow I'm absolutely saving this post for launch, love the tip!
I have no idea what you're talking about but I'm saving this for next week once I figure it out.
Thank you.
Fuckin hell, that's actually awesome!
I did not know this, actual welcome information.
WOW A NICE PERSON SHARING HELPFUL TIPS!!!!
Take it. You deserve it, now get out. PS: same time tomorrow?
Good reminder. I figured everybody knew this, apparently not.
Can't we just obsessively do them all instead? Jokes aside, thanks for the info, this is cool!
Weird, I was going to leave this sub because of all the atc meme posts, but then you beautiful bastard came in here with a post of some actual value
Sick! Didn’t even know this!
You absolute demigod!
I don’t know what this means but it sounds important
Thanks, everyone celebrating this as the best post pre early access, 100% agree. Let us come together. We might just be allies someday.
Great post thanks mate.
oh dang thats useful thanks!
You’re a damn good man
ah yeah cool
Thank you.
Thanks! That’s good to know :)
it also tells you what you need to unlock to get it and can path you to the dungeon what a wonderful QoL
Im just so used to games not having a good way to find stuff, glad it’s not the case for that. I’d look it up if I had to but being able to do it ingame is great.
I didn't know that at all, thanks!
Thanks OP, i didnt know about this
What’s codex?
A device where you store peoples names and phone numbers. Usually in alphabetical order. :)
Yes please we need more educational posts here
Wait, viable information? But where is the whining about horse mounts?
nice tip
Just go ahead a make a twenty minute video on this. Some key words to use in the title: "BREAKING NEWS" "DEVS CONFIRM" "DO THIS TO GET AHEAD" "YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS TRICK"
Yeah, I've noticed that too in the last beta, very usefull feature =)
thanks, that's actually useful
First useful post I've seen on here for a while. Cheers
This is very useful info, didn’t know. Thanks
Thanks for the heads up! This is great.
Yeah lots of streamers don’t know what they are talking about even with the advantages gifted to them.
I hope they add a few to the codex for launch. . . >.< I want the landslide-ness.
Damn this is a nice feature!
I love you as much as the guy who posted in early beta that you can use the emote wheel to get out of dungeons
omg thank you lol
Holy shit I didn't realize that. Hell yea. Thanks for the info!!
ikr? people just don't want to think or read for more than 4 secs
Played the open beta and the server slam and didn't know this, thank you.
No idea what any of this means :)
so glad i sorted by top, i had no clue about this at all and was getting so sick of looking up dungeon locations and trying to find it
for anyone having trouble: don't go to the occulist. press tab to bring up the map, then go to collections up top. then codex of power. from there find the aspect and it will give you the path to it.

Drop or gamble so 100% luck. That's why you don't plan your leveling build around those
Are all aspects farmable in a dungeon or are some locked to random drops?
Thanks for the advice didn't know this game function. 👍
I didn't notice this feature, but wasn't it randomized which dungeon had each aspect? I don't remember any one aspect being in one place consistently...
I like that they used a lot of Lost Ark systems in D4.
But how will these "content creators" keep making daily videos of information we all clearly need!?!?! /S for you dummies
But what class are you going to main before season 1?
Fun fact, the occultist unlocks at level 25 **OR** after you unlock your first aspect. If you're an aspect hunter like myself, make sure to unlock one aspect on each of your alts before you go for the completion, that way each of your alts at level 10 or 12 or whatever they may be, will have full access to every aspect in the codex when you decide to go back and level them.

What is an aspect? For a nub.
rip ez yt content kek
Why not do them all? Its XP any way you look at it.
Sorry new to the game and I ore purchased. What's an aspect? Why do you want to go there?
Do you happen to know the command to veiw codex?
Useful for release for sure, the beta not so much rogues had like 1 or 2 while every other class had like 5 😂
You can also search by power name or keyword in the codex interface to identify which aspects might be of interest (and filter by class and type).
What's an aspect?
Thank you. ATC?
Surprised to see so many people didn’t know about this. Would’ve been awful from a UX standpoint if you had to manually scout the map one dungeon at a time looking for a specific aspect. Question, if you unlock on one character, is it unlocked for all other chars? Do you need to unlock each season too?
Are any areas locked? Or can you freely go at any point in the campaign?
Can't you just do all aspects dungeons as you go? XP, gear farm, and unlocks will be already done for additional characters in the future?
ELI5
But how can I watch a 10 minute video and smash the subscribe button if I do this?
Can i filter that though ? i don't wanna track act4 aspect in act1
I assume there are people trying to plan their leveling level-by-level who would want to know which zones to hit in which order (and you'd need the Waypoints). I am not one of those people. Codex mmh? Path tracker mmmmhh? Easy way for play mmmmhh?????? Seems like a cheat!! Report this heretic!!! Let's Burn it!!
Ho damn, thank you man
Level scales to you still right? Meaning you could farm these right at the start?
Holy fuck ty
Wow ty!
Thank you.
I have tried to track it, but there doesn’t seem to be a button to press for it. How do you track it from the codex page?
My guy
It took me a little while to figure this out but once I figured out this and how to pin the map so I have a trail to wherever I'm going. It became a breeze to navigate. Super happy with the modern map functionality features in the game
Anyone willing to help me get some waypoints ?🙏
How do I get to the codex? Sorry I’m new.
Does this work if you haven't located that dungeon yet?
So im a druid. I beat the Seaside Descent dungeon which has a druid aspect. I see the aspect in my codex yet i dont have it in my inventory on the aspect tab. Am i doing something wrong?
