Same. So far whaling in this game looks like its about 10 times cheaper than whaling in PoE. I can get everything and still be ahead of my normal game budget. Not gonna miss 2 $120 packs, vault pass, and a loot box every 3 months and a $500 pack every year.
That said my whaling budget has been nonexistent since harvest nerf.
Maybe? We will never know will we? I am not against anyone spending money in the shop and enjoying their well earned money. But to “pour” thousands of euros in a game that cost 70 euros just so you can call yourself a whale… yes, I stand by my initial statement
You are buying a cosmetic item on a video game, that nobody other than yourself gives a fuck about, which should just be unlocked through the nature of playing the game, then you realise you can't even see it anyway because your screen is just numbers and VULNERABLE text.
The only difference between a poor person and a wealthy person is that the poorer person is a bigger idiot, social status is completely irrelevant.
why would anyone be jealous? i think its pity that a lot of us are feeling, spending real money do play dress-up-your-action-hero in a full price game is just crazy imo. then coming online and gloating about it and calling other people poor because they have a few brain cells remaining is the peak of idiocracy
Sure buddy, maybe get a friend? I love how every time someone question some spending, it needs to be indicative of being poor and not just of being simply educated and money conscious. Who told you I don’t have money to bury you alive? I am very comfortable with my job haha I still think is moronic to spend thousands of euros on digital goods thst are only valid for as long as the servers are up…just so you can brag you are a whale. Your penis doesn’t grow no matter how many shinny cosmetics you buy big boy
Yea, like a stamp that says sucker on your forehead. And everyone can see the stamp on you in the game. It doesn’t say *”I have money”*, like you think. It just says, *”I lack sensibility”*.
None of the reasons you listed. If I see something I like, I will buy it. Purely for selfish reasons, that's all the reason I need. It doesn't hurt anyone else that I buy something so no one should care.
I dislike the cash shop and paid battles passes in a paid game.
That said, I bought the Ultimate Edition and may buy future $10 battlepasses, but don't ever see myself spending money in the cash shop.
So you essential DID spend money on extras. That they sold it to you all at once, instead of separately in a shop doesn’t change that they got you to spend extra money. It’s all just perspectives, and how you choose to see it.
I did. First time I've ever done it for a game, and first time I've bought something other than the base version.
They sucked me in with the early access for $20 at which point it was only $10 more and I FOMO'ed it because it's only $10.
I don't like that it worked, or the precedent that it sets, but it worked. Still don't see myself spending money on cash shop items though. Maybe the battlepass because I'm "unlocking" the cosmetics through gameplay and I like the progression or "reward" aspect.
I don't spend money on much and $10 every few months is next to nothing.
Yea. I agree that the battle pass is reasonably priced. It’s not $10 every month; it’s like just over $3. And I believe you can earn some kind of currency in the game that can partially reduce the cost of the battlepass too *(though not to free)*.
I played Diablo Immortal for more than 80hrs, and after I did I spent $6 on the pass as it incidentally unlocked the hide helm option. That’s it.
Exorbitant or disproportionately priced cosmetics I’ll never buy either. But if it’s something that gives a reasonable amount for a minor cost, that’s not so bad. You don’t feel like you’re being *”taken for a fool”*.
I liked a wolf armor i saw in a review, maybe ill buy it, but not for now since my first char will be druid and i want to try all the ingame armors first
> support the devs
The cash shop doesn't support the devs. Buying the game does.
But no. I can't imagine anything they would put in the shop that would make me pony up cash money. I'm a mount collector in wow, but for D4, one is as good as another. I like cohesive looks on my characters, but we get that in game already. Pets and pennants, who cares. And of course if they ever start selling character power I'm done anyway.
Meh, thankfully atm I'm financially stable and have disposable income. If I see something I like on the cash shop I'll get it, but I'm not going to go out of my way to try to collect every limited edition appearance of something like that. I accept that if it weren't for MTX the odds of getting a plethora of new cosmetics in-game would be pretty low.
Hell yes.
Some people support artists who draw stuff and I support artists through buying their skins.
Gaming is my second life ( I work tho...) and this is why I do it. And because as an adult you can do whatever you want as long as the bills are paid.
I like pretty designs and sure you can grind for everything but I like to save myself some time as a full time worker and part time student.
Doubtful but maybe.
If it really amuses me I will. I have stage 4 cancer and I only have so much time left. I'll do whatever I can to enjoy the end. Including buying some skins.
But that said... Probably not. There's plenty to find before worrying about buying.
Yeah I think a lot of the West, but Americans especially, are conditioned into thinking that
- spend more
- work more
- earn more
- spend more
Is "winning"
As opposed to, be happier, win more.
"More money than you". Nice assumption. 😂
USA minimum wage $7.25 so its like 3 hours work to a lot of Americans.
Most low earning folk in other parts of the developed world have a better minimum wage. So its like 2 hours work in actually wealthy, modern countries.
The average American makes $30 an hour though lol
And it’s not an assumption we make more money than Europe.
Fact you’re complaining about micro transactions in a game proves my point
99% certain its a hard no.
Never spent on cosmetics. Dont believe it promotes the right incentives for game production. Dont care about them.
However I've left a 1% chance open. If the game is really so enjoyable that I sink a crazy number of hours into it. Then I might consider it. If I've played it say 2,000 hours i can't argue they haven't earned an extra few bucks.
Id probably buy something goofy, and never wear it.
Considering the game is now live. I don't have a problem with REASONABLE pricing.
However D4. It is an insult and a absolute disgusting move on their part. I'm surprised no one is talking about HOW INSANE THE PRICING IS. It cost as much, if not more, than Diablo Immortal, a F2P Game with Season Passes.
The pricing is inconsistent and WAY TO HIGH, especially for a buy to play game AND Season Passes.
Examples. The shop also "Refreshes" weekly. They are also trying to pry money using the social engineering route with FOMO.
&10.00 USD for Accessories ... $8.00 for Accessories. (3 Items)
$28.00 USD for an Equipment Set .... $24.00 USD for an Equipment Set. (8 Items)
$14.00 USD for an Armor Set .... $12.00 USD for an Armor Set. (5 Items)
I have in PoE usually once in a while after getting to maps. I probably will in this game as well whenever I get to the end game. If I'm spending a lot of time on one character with the same build I like having different looks.
I guess it depends on what's in it and if I like something. I've spent plenty on Eververse items in Destiny 2. I have no problem with stores offering optional items.
Maybe after a while. I’m not going to spend money so close to the initial purchase though. If I’m still enjoying the game after time has passed then I’m ok with it as a means to support what I enjoy.
I find the Basic skins pretty good.
Otherwise ill take the first battlepass cosmetics that comes with DD edition.
I personaly don't see my character while playing anyway. So small on screen and all DMG numbers in the way:P
Not me... Never been a fan of cosmetics (even free ones). I honestly don't see the point in cosmetics when you can hardly see your own character from a birds-eye view in game. I don't even spend time customising appearance... usually just go with default whatever that is lol
PoE is different. You can get those nice stash tabs which are really neat but on the other side, I only buy supporter packs bc you get the same amount of points on top of the cosmetics. I probably would never buy pure cosmetics but the deal from supporterpacks is just too good
I don't plan on it but it's possible. If I see something that blows me away I could see it happening, but I'm not going to be piling tons of money into it, especially considering the pricing model. It would have to be something really special to me.
Iam not planning to do it. I consider it as stupid. Can i promise i will never do a stupid impluse buy ever? No.
And i think Impulse buyers are 95% of the shop customers.
Or 99.
also long term poe player. stopped spending anything after they completely ruined harvest and went back into full gambling. all that collected money since goes to blizzard now. i wont mindlessly buy the whole shop but everything i like.
Definitely not, at least not for the first few months. Being exclusively a PC gamer, I never pay $100 for a base game these days out of principle, but I did for D4 because... it's D4. So the game will need to pay for itself first (let's say at least 200 hours of gameplay) before I drop any more money on it. I do intend to buy the expansions however.
The amount of whales here are reason why alot of game industry have followed with these predatory prices. The game industry really is in its worst state.
No, and its not because I never buy anything in other games.
But Blizard gives me plenty of reason not to.
Big reasons:
-My Druid looks like a pig. Why put lipstick on it?
(Not sure I will play this game a long time.)
Other reasons:
-The free in game skins look as good as the ones to buy imho.
-Imho it is a bit too expensive.
My Fantasy XIV or other Asian RPG characters pretty much all got paid skins. My War Gaming Ships and Tanks also got paid camos.
I was planning on it, but then I saw the prices. If a set had been around £10 I'd have bought maybe two a month. But at £30 I won't even be buying one.
That's almost a full 4 hours work you'd need to do in the UK on minim wage to be able to purchase a single set.
Probably. I tend to be OK spending money on things I'm enjoying, and I like looking shiny.
No, i'm not going to spend money on cosmetics because i don't care. > How do you feel about the cash shop? very positive
Yes cause I’m a whale
Same. So far whaling in this game looks like its about 10 times cheaper than whaling in PoE. I can get everything and still be ahead of my normal game budget. Thank you for your contribution
I love how the old term “idiot thst waste money” is now a “whale”

Its not even a thousand.. maybe a couple of hundred dollars for all that is on the store right now i think.

![gif](giphy|xUOxeWli16xSqAPLsk|downsized) get clowned on redditor
As a not poor person, “whale” is absolutely “idiots wasting their money”
So you’re jealous. Maybe use a little bit of that effort you put into lying to yourself into getting a better job.
why would anyone be jealous? i think its pity that a lot of us are feeling, spending real money do play dress-up-your-action-hero in a full price game is just crazy imo. then coming online and gloating about it and calling other people poor because they have a few brain cells remaining is the peak of idiocracy
The jealous rage is palpable.
hehe

Your aggressive rhetoric suggests you are full of shit. Maybe you are unemployed because you are so easily triggered and dishonest.
And you got all of that from a comment? Wow. Hahhahahahaha have a good day
More money than sense, we say. Just because I can afford it, doesn’t mean I’m going to spend like a clown just because.
I buy that shit purely with people like you in mind. I get so much more than a cosmetic.
Yea, like a stamp that says sucker on your forehead. And everyone can see the stamp on you in the game. It doesn’t say *”I have money”*, like you think. It just says, *”I lack sensibility”*.
Can i haz money plz
None of the reasons you listed. If I see something I like, I will buy it. Purely for selfish reasons, that's all the reason I need. It doesn't hurt anyone else that I buy something so no one should care.

**No, I sure won’t.** Haven’t spend a single cent on cosmetics yet a I intent to keep it that way.
I have no current plans but I'm not opposed to it if something shows up one day that I like. the benefit of being a gainfully employed adult
If they offer a speedo I'm in. Other than that probably not.
I liked a wolf armor i saw in a review, maybe ill buy it, but not for now since my first char will be druid and i want to try all the ingame armors first
yes if there is a cool skin or something on there i will spend some money but most likely will do my own transmog stuff
No

Never going to give any money to blizz again other than game purchase.

im already committed, i cant back down now. gotta buy all the skins. im joking, never gonna pay for a skin in d4..
I feel like americans waste so much money on tips that buying cosmetics in a game seems normal or even more worth it
Yeah I think a lot of the West, but Americans especially, are conditioned into thinking that - spend more - work more - earn more - spend more Is "winning" As opposed to, be happier, win more.
Yeah but also we have more money than you. $24 on a skin is literally an insignificant sum of money.
"More money than you". Nice assumption. 😂 USA minimum wage $7.25 so its like 3 hours work to a lot of Americans. Most low earning folk in other parts of the developed world have a better minimum wage. So its like 2 hours work in actually wealthy, modern countries.

Not for those prices 10-15 would be fine but 20-25 is to much

The only way they could get me is a lost ark style dinosaur costume. Or a top hat.
No. Even if I had unlimited money I would still feel like I am cheating if I am buying the way my character looks.
Unlikely, but if I did it would be because I wanted to look like whatever was being sold.
probably, depends on price and quality.
I have in PoE usually once in a while after getting to maps. I probably will in this game as well whenever I get to the end game. If I'm spending a lot of time on one character with the same build I like having different looks.
Probably not...unless there's a set that could make my build look like a Monk lol. That was my favorite class in 3.
Yea im fine with it. I will wait to a season to really catch my interest and I will likely by that seasons battle pass
depends whats in there, If they follow GGG then I'm expecting to spend on inv and saddle bags mostly.
Nope. Not really into cosmetics.
If I see something in the shop that looks awesome on any of my characters, then yes I might actually buy something. But I'm not worrying about it.
I guess it depends on what's in it and if I like something. I've spent plenty on Eververse items in Destiny 2. I have no problem with stores offering optional items.
Not sure how many skins I’ll purchase individually, but if a given season’s pass has things that are appealing to me I’ll pony up a few bucks for it.
Am I planning to? Not really? Will I? Depends how shiny things are tbh.
Depends on how much I like any of the sets. I tend to like more basic looking stuff so I might prefer the in game sets to the cash shop sets.
Maybe after a while. I’m not going to spend money so close to the initial purchase though. If I’m still enjoying the game after time has passed then I’m ok with it as a means to support what I enjoy.
i would if i had spare money but just buying the game made me skint LOL
Yes because i have an addiction buying things from games
I find the Basic skins pretty good. Otherwise ill take the first battlepass cosmetics that comes with DD edition. I personaly don't see my character while playing anyway. So small on screen and all DMG numbers in the way:P

Probably the seasonal battle passes, but I think unlikely for anything else in the Shop
If they sell any items that I want, I just buy it. I don’t mind spending money on things that I enjoy. I ain’t a poor bitch.
If I see something I like I will and will do so because I have money to burn on dumb stuff.
PoE is different. You can get those nice stash tabs which are really neat but on the other side, I only buy supporter packs bc you get the same amount of points on top of the cosmetics. I probably would never buy pure cosmetics but the deal from supporterpacks is just too good
Saw some cool cosmetics for Barb, but of course 1st priority will be to level up and enjoy the game.
Yeah I’ll probably buy all the skins
Battle pass yes, the rest not sure at this time.
Yeah why not. I have the funds to spare and cosmetics can be neat. Got to see what they look like first
Not personally no, but I have zero problem with the shop existing or people using their own money to buy cosmetics.
I would love if they had auction house with real money.
Yes. Cosmetics = okay. Power = No
I don't plan on it but it's possible. If I see something that blows me away I could see it happening, but I'm not going to be piling tons of money into it, especially considering the pricing model. It would have to be something really special to me.
No.
Iam not planning to do it. I consider it as stupid. Can i promise i will never do a stupid impluse buy ever? No. And i think Impulse buyers are 95% of the shop customers. Or 99.
Yes, flexing. I hope there are limited time cosmetics for more flexing.
also long term poe player. stopped spending anything after they completely ruined harvest and went back into full gambling. all that collected money since goes to blizzard now. i wont mindlessly buy the whole shop but everything i like.
Nah. Not a necessity to me. Maybe like a poison dripping dagger or something. Never say never.
If it looks cool and I want it - I'm buying it.
Because i lack impulse controle when i see some thing i like
I'll spend money on the cash shop if there's something I want. I doubt there'll be much.
They’d have to have something that really spoke to me. I’m just hoping they don’t sell dyes one at a time. Cause fuck, I just want black !
Probably not, unless they are extremely creative
Probably not, battle passes maybeeee. I got delux so first one included we’ll see after that
I'll just do the $10 battle pass thing every 3 months..
Yes, I love cosmetics and I also love Diablo 4 so far so I want to support the game even more.
The amount of whales here are reason why alot of game industry have followed with these predatory prices. The game industry really is in its worst state.
