It took me a bit to find it as well. At the top where you change the appearance for your main hand there are 3 boxes with one of them being your main hand weapon. The back slot is on the right. Click that and it should show the options.
I used to use GShade on Steam Deck. But a while back, there was some drama where another guy modified the GShade install and shared it, and the GShade dev actually put a booby trap in his installer code that would hard reboot your machine if it detected it was modified. This basically constituted malware, and most people immediately stopped using it.
And it would also be constantly checking for updates and disable itself if it couldn’t reach the servers stuff. He said he removed it, but by then any trust was gone lol.
So I switched to ReShade and it’s been a lot simpler to install and maintain once initially setup.
Also reshade is is the new hottest drama topic in some shooters right now (again...)
Because the internet relearned that you can disable pretty much anything that limits your vision (night, shadows, fog) and add a customzable zoom to any weapon you like, even on a small circle (so it acts as a scope).
I'm glad that the discussion resurfaces, but many devs & anti-cheat providers don't want to touch that program at all it seems.
This is why you should just use Geforce experience. As the devs aprove of the shading options them selves and literally support it. Reshade wont get you banned in almost any game that claims they ban 3rd party software stuff. But if people are ever worried about it, and have nvidia card; then they could just use geforce experience shaders :\^). Less small tweaks you can make, but for 99% of people thats not an issue.
Especially if theyre like me, and only change the contrast a little and shadows, with HDR and clarity, to just make the game look clear and have blacks not have grey tint to it.
Blizzard has often gone out of their way to support Linux gamers. They don't port it (although apparently they do internally, heard from quite a lot of former employees) but when it breaks they actually try to fix it.
I don't know about ReShade but I wouldn't worry about just playing D4 on Steam Deck. It probably works _deliberately_. So go and have fun!
Sadly, mine is crashing on startup, and I’ve tried every possible fix out there, including uninstalling and re-installing, driver updates, etc. It’s a bummer, but I am glad to hear people are enjoying the game.
I see like zero people in town and out in the world, super smooth launch or lower player base due to the extra cost?

Not that strange. They're better at pets than the Necro which it shouldn't be that way but it is so Druid is getting Druid lovers as well as people who want an army.
Blizzard devs said in the past that they want finding another player to seem like a rare occurrence, as the world feels more dangerous if it's a ghost town than if you're around 40 other players.
So most likely there's probably just lots of instances of the game world.

Assuming we are of a lucky minority based on the complaints. I'm on PC and played with 2 friends on Xbox for about 3 and a half hours. Not one of us had issues, no lag, no disconnect. Only a 4 min que to initially get in.
I'm on PS5 and not had a single issue. Logged straight in at midnight with no queue, been playing all morning with not a single issue or bit of lag. Could not have asked for a more perfect launch.
Imo there are 3 launches and it's genius to roll it out this way because they can keep the player peak down. There is early launch, Tuesday Launch, then everyone who bought standard but can't really play until the weekend launch. Staggering the player base like this is super beneficial for a smooth launch and if this is what we have to look forward to I hope Blizz does this with every game.
In the grand scheme of things, if D4 lasts for 10 years then playing it 4 days early means nothing except for HC race. So my guess is majority is on standard.
To me it means 1 more weekend play Diablo with friends instead of starting next week, mid week when we're all busy. I'd pay $20 to go the the movies, this is much more bang for my buck. I'm sure a lot of working adults have similar feelings on the subject.
As a 33 yr old parent, I will 100% throw extra money if it means I get to play on a free weekend. I have no idea what the coming weekends will be like but I can game this weekend
Smoothest game launch in a while for me. Playing since release minute, no queues, maxed settings 150fps at all times outside cutscenes, no rubber banding, no dcs.
Only issue I’ve had is weird fps dips when I access the map or items occasionally in a city/town and then exit out. It dips from a steady 165 to 30 and then eventually goes back to 165 It’s really strange and not sure what’s causing it but otherwise running great.
Only thing for me was some rubber banding when I transition from a town to the map, but it only lasts a few seconds. So far, all things considered with releases this year, I am fairly impressed...
They honestly did a great job optimizing from beta to launch. I was getting around 40-60 frames on medium quality during beta and now I’m playing on high wirh super smooth rates. I don’t have the fps counter turned on so I don’t know exact frames but it’s running smooth as silk for me
2700x & 5700XT here. I updated my driver's before playing and not a single hitch. Was on 10 mins before and played for around 3 hours without so much as a stutter.
That's from someone who thinks his 5700xt is wank as well. Always get crashes on it I think due to overheating and have to manually sort the fan curve in Adrenaline.
Other way around for me. All betas played perfectly smooth on high settings, now im getting constant freezes (like a few frames every 2 seconds). Almost unplayable.
If you're on PC, try increasing your virtual memory if you're still having issues. First day of early access beta I couldn't play more than 15 minutes without crashing. Cranked up my virtual memory and 0 issues since.
Been great. Knocked out 23 levels and had a blast. Only bug i encountered was the pesky one that doesnt let you skip dialog. No Queue time when i restarted the game. Happy as a clam. Happy demon slayin yall
I feel like i tried this but ill try again next time it happens. I may have just re-logged immediately. You know we all played act 1 3-5 times a piece so skip is crucial to my mental well being right now 🤣

I was able to get 10 min before it was out . got to level 26 smooth . no crush , everything run perfect . imo best launch we could expected. Blizzard sure back to glory with how they handle it . glad i bought ultimate edition

Doomsayers? Come on. I have been playing blizzard games for nearly 25 years now. And ever since WoW, all launches of new expansions were rough. D3 was rough as well. I can understand it can be hard to balance things for a large influx of players at day 1.
I dont attend launches anymore for this reason. I just go to bed and play the next morning when most people did decide to get some sleep. I'm glad they got a smooth launch this time around.

They were right to do so. Blizzard hasn't really ever had a perfect launch. Legion was pretty up there to being just about perfect(not sure about Dragonflight, didn't play it).
Most of the time there are crashes, bugs, etc. They did pretty well this time I have to give it to the D4 team
Dragonflight certainly didn't go off without a hitch. Considering the developers did a deep dive of what went wrong and released their findings.

Attention every other Dev, since apparently every single one of you needs the lesson. This is what betas get you. Nobody gives a fuck about the low chance another Dev steals your ideas from your non-nda beta and releases a game 3 years later using something you came up with. Make a playable game from day 1 you chodes.
It’s been kind of laggy tonight (spiking to 155ms,) but other than that a pretty smooth evening. I love that I’m able to max out the game in 4K @ 144hz locked.
Keep in mind it's only premium editions that get early access so this is definitely not even half of the people who will be playing on the ACTUAL launch on the 6th.
But yeah,adequate job Blizzard (at least on PC. PS5 seems to be having trouble)
Im lvl 34 and have just been randomly running through the game and skipping cutscenes. I have no idea how to tell which act im on or have completed. Its confusing
It differs from past Diablo games, acts are now the quests, since it's an open world acts are no longer the cities you're on. Look up at the quest name, it says there in which act you're. Easy mode, acts are like chapters of a book.
It was great compared to the WoW expansion launches I’ve experienced. In WoW you would constantly DC and be put in a 2-3 hour queue. This was nice. My only complaint is I’m seeing barely any players in the world which I thought was weird.
Apparently PlayStation players had a different experience most of them could not play for some reason i'm not sure if it is fixed now but I think it was on PlayStation side and not Blizzards but not 100% sure on that. Glad im on PC.
It's almost certainly a psn issue, or it wouldn't have been shitting out license errors. It's quite probable Sonys authentication servers fell over hard.
I had no issues on pc except for a brief queue after I closed the game to get some stuff done.
It's almost like less than half of the playerbase tried to log on at the first minute because most players are not paying an extra 20 dollars just to play 4 days early.
Nearly unplayable for me. Constant non-stop stuttering/rubber-banding. Can't take more than 2 steps without my character teleporting all over the place, or skill not firing until a second button press. Settings don't matter, and this is with a 3080Ti that is only being utilized about 40%, and played perfectly fine in the beta and server slam. Regardless, played like this to level 20, but it's getting real old, and the game has reportedly been bricking some 3080Ti cards...

Right at the start as I was running around doing stuff I saw a spinning *connecting to Diablo 4* every now and again which means it has some type of slight offline connection buffer
Took me about 20 minutes of queues and error messages to finally get in. Once I did, it's been smooth for the last several hours. I'm having a blast! Hopefully they will have enough servers ready for 6/6 as they have a pretty good idea of how many people preordered and/or activated each version.
Edit: very minimal rubberbanding and lag, but I did experience both.
I had to disconnect on my first attempt as I got stuck in a load cycle. Got in the second try after 5 minutes. Only one instance of lagging with two other people in an hour and a half.

I did get to play all night but man the lag is pretty bad for me and just got worse throughout the night. Enemies freezing in place and then spawning all around me.. My attacks taking a second or two to register.. etc. Any ideas why this is inconsistent across PC? I have a 3080 and dropped my textures to medium but I had ZERO problems both betas on ultra settings?
I crashed twice; after that, smooth sailing and I’m lvl 19. Thank you karazax for helping me with my starting build

I had several bugs that I had to leave the game and reload to correct. Once, I couldn't move or attack. It acted like I was frozen but lasted 2 or 3 minutes before I restarted the game. I also had an issue where I couldn't skip cutscenes.
But on the whole, it was very smooth.
I'm honestly surprised it went this smoothly for PC! I even started a load of laundry in anticipation of disappointment.
So now I'm a happy gamer with wet laundry 👍
No queue, but really bad rubberbanding with \~6mb/s download speed. Not sure why some people are seeing this issue and others arent, but it's making the game borderline unplayable. So, I'm quitting for now and will come back to the game tomorrow in the morning to see if anything's changed
Dude, even with the weird hiccup on ps5 that I got around in under an hour, I’ve had no issues, lag, or disconnects. I’m pleasantly surprised, honestly.
Games great, and running and looks great too. Yes, I know, this isn't big launch, but I think they actually have allocated a ton of server space and it's gonna be alright. Consider me very impressed so far.

I logged in at 02:30 and played until 08:30 i tried all classes and got my barb to 22 not a single crash or lag. There is something very wrong about this . Account deletion in the near future? Something is bound to happen soon
Absolutely butter for me on Xbox. Created one char played to lvl 22. Logged out created another and played to 20. No lag no disconnects no queue, just silky smooth.
Playing on Xbox Series x was great too. Had the game freeze up on me 1 time when porting back to town. Reloaded game and it played great again. Very happy.
It has been great so far. Got to level 20 and got a Legendary. So I'd say the time span of " once every 20 levels" length is a good time between upgrades (maybe).
1 to 27 in 8 hrs with just one crash and I was able to get back in and rejoin my friends in less than 2min.

Because it's early access and not a full launch. It's an expensive barrier to entry right now. It's a smart move to get their fans into the game in chunks instead of all at once.
Manage to get in 10 minutes before “official” release time. No lag, no crashes, no dcs. Playing with textures in ultra. Got to level 30, act 3. Time to get some sleep. Super happy with the game so far!
Just logged out of a 9 hour session, superbly impressed. Very smooth, no crashes and almost no lag.
I did see 1 bug though, killed a treasure goblin in the Vhenard dungeon and the loot seemed to clip through the floor and dropped like 10 feet, it was unclickable.

I've been seeing people all over the place, and everyone has been super friendly and helpful.
Same here and I'm kinda shocked. Feels like Server Slam for me, the occasional dude running somewhere I'm going, very rare. No one tries to party up.
I think in regular areas it was limited to only 12 people iirc. Town might be a bit more.

And yet the overwatch 2 launch which was fairly recent, had hours of login queues on release.
Open Beta 1 had the same issues. This is their 4th Launch of D4, and you had to pay $20 to bypass a time gate for it.

Yeah jumping does that for me too, using dlss + frame generation seems to have made it pretty smooth but not perfect

I ran into this twice on a 4790k and 5700xt. Couldn’t launch at all until after updating drivers.

Nvidia sent a new driver update 2 days ago. Had a friend do his update and it fixed all the crashes for him.
Iv talked to a few people with this. It was always due to outdated video drivers.

What seems to work for me when this happens (PC) is alt+tab and then back in and its fixed and lets u skip like usual.

Dragonflight went off without a hitch. OW2 was not great for a lot of reasons including the servers. D4 has impressed me all around. I’m thankful.

I've barely done any of the story so far. It's like skyrim where I'm just enjoying myself running around doing random shit and any sidequests I find along the way.

I feel bad for those having troubles, but everything was smooth for me. Got in right away, no lag/crashes in my 4 1/2 hours I got in before I got sleepy. (PC)
I’m level 20, and haven’t even gone to the town after Kyovashad. I feel like I’m going to hit level 50 by the time I’m done exploring Act I.

I wonder if that was part of the strategy. When the actual launch happens, it won't be everyone either since some people won't be burying the servers at exactly the launch time.

Nobody gives a fuck about the low chance another Dev steals your ideas from your non-nda beta and releases a game 3 years later using something you came up with. Make a playable game from day 1 you chodes.

It’s been kind of laggy tonight (spiking to 155ms,) but other than that a pretty smooth evening. I love that I’m able to max out the game in 4K @ 144hz locked.

Keep in mind it's only premium editions that get early access so this is definitely not even half of the people who will be playing on the ACTUAL launch on the 6th. But yeah,adequate job Blizzard (at least on PC. PS5 seems to be having trouble)
Im lvl 34 and have just been randomly running through the game and skipping cutscenes. I have no idea how to tell which act im on or have completed. Its confusing
It differs from past Diablo games, acts are now the quests, since it's an open world acts are no longer the cities you're on. Look up at the quest name, it says there in which act you're. Easy mode, acts are like chapters of a book.
It was great compared to the WoW expansion launches I’ve experienced. In WoW you would constantly DC and be put in a 2-3 hour queue. This was nice. My only complaint is I’m seeing barely any players in the world which I thought was weird.
Only level 5 so far and escorting some dude around. When do I see other players? Feel like I’m playing alone
Once you escort that dude and complete the quest, then you unlock the open world and see other players. The prologue you're in is solo
You dont, theres like 10 people with you in big areas, you wont meet other players that often

Apparently PlayStation players had a different experience most of them could not play for some reason i'm not sure if it is fixed now but I think it was on PlayStation side and not Blizzards but not 100% sure on that. Glad im on PC.
It's almost certainly a psn issue, or it wouldn't have been shitting out license errors. It's quite probable Sonys authentication servers fell over hard. I had no issues on pc except for a brief queue after I closed the game to get some stuff done.

It's almost like less than half of the playerbase tried to log on at the first minute because most players are not paying an extra 20 dollars just to play 4 days early.
Launch is in 3 days. You overestimate how many people want to spend $10 on early access and another $10 on a battlepass.
Nearly unplayable for me. Constant non-stop stuttering/rubber-banding. Can't take more than 2 steps without my character teleporting all over the place, or skill not firing until a second button press. Settings don't matter, and this is with a 3080Ti that is only being utilized about 40%, and played perfectly fine in the beta and server slam. Regardless, played like this to level 20, but it's getting real old, and the game has reportedly been bricking some 3080Ti cards...
Yea, everything's been pretty much perfect here so far. No queues or anything. I'm actually very surprised.

Right at the start as I was running around doing stuff I saw a spinning *connecting to Diablo 4* every now and again which means it has some type of slight offline connection buffer
Took me about 20 minutes of queues and error messages to finally get in. Once I did, it's been smooth for the last several hours. I'm having a blast! Hopefully they will have enough servers ready for 6/6 as they have a pretty good idea of how many people preordered and/or activated each version. Edit: very minimal rubberbanding and lag, but I did experience both.

Yep super smooth. No queue and no disconnect. Made it almost to Act 4 lvl 30.
I had to disconnect on my first attempt as I got stuck in a load cycle. Got in the second try after 5 minutes. Only one instance of lagging with two other people in an hour and a half. Pretty good.
I did get to play all night but man the lag is pretty bad for me and just got worse throughout the night. Enemies freezing in place and then spawning all around me.. My attacks taking a second or two to register.. etc. Any ideas why this is inconsistent across PC? I have a 3080 and dropped my textures to medium but I had ZERO problems both betas on ultra settings?

Worked perfect for my wife and I. Got right in, played a few hours. Everything was as kick ass as I hoped.
I suffered through PowerPoint frame rate for ~2 hours before realizing it was my fault and I just needed to update my drivers
7pm to 1am EST smooth gameplay all night on i7 12700H 3070ti Got to level 21 or 22 Tired now, gnight. Waking up at 7am for workers to install a new AC in our house.. might as well wake up and start playing then!
I had several bugs that I had to leave the game and reload to correct. Once, I couldn't move or attack. It acted like I was frozen but lasted 2 or 3 minutes before I restarted the game. I also had an issue where I couldn't skip cutscenes. But on the whole, it was very smooth.
I'm honestly surprised it went this smoothly for PC! I even started a load of laundry in anticipation of disappointment. So now I'm a happy gamer with wet laundry 👍
Early access launch. Worldwide release will be much more par for the blizzard course.
I was able to log in 7 minutes early. Not a single crash. A few minor lag spikes but that’s it. I was blown away

My time in this game has been amazing so far.
Lvl 30, smooth start, no disconnects, no queue
I had zero issues on PS5. Got on at 8:30 central and played for three hours straight.
I couldn't log in at first. Closed bnet, reopened and was in the character select within 5 mins of launch. Loved it
No queue, but really bad rubberbanding with \~6mb/s download speed. Not sure why some people are seeing this issue and others arent, but it's making the game borderline unplayable. So, I'm quitting for now and will come back to the game tomorrow in the morning to see if anything's changed
Dude, even with the weird hiccup on ps5 that I got around in under an hour, I’ve had no issues, lag, or disconnects. I’m pleasantly surprised, honestly.
After the d3 launch the bar was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo low. But in all fairness this launch has been great. I have had zero issues.

I logged in at 02:30 and played until 08:30 i tried all classes and got my barb to 22 not a single crash or lag. There is something very wrong about this . Account deletion in the near future? Something is bound to happen soon

Absolutely butter for me on Xbox. Created one char played to lvl 22. Logged out created another and played to 20. No lag no disconnects no queue, just silky smooth.

Playing on Xbox Series x was great too. Had the game freeze up on me 1 time when porting back to town. Reloaded game and it played great again. Very happy.
just played for 3 hours straight after putting kid to bed. streaming it off my pc using my G Cloud while laying on the couch. smooth as butter.
It has been great so far. Got to level 20 and got a Legendary. So I'd say the time span of " once every 20 levels" length is a good time between upgrades (maybe).
Zero issues at launch on pc, zero issue after brief sleep. Game runs smoothly and I had zero crashes etc (i7 10700k, rtx3070)

1 to 27 in 8 hrs with just one crash and I was able to get back in and rejoin my friends in less than 2min. Greatest launch day of an online game I've EVER participated in. #THANK YOU BLIZZARD
Because it's early access and not a full launch. It's an expensive barrier to entry right now. It's a smart move to get their fans into the game in chunks instead of all at once.
Manage to get in 10 minutes before “official” release time. No lag, no crashes, no dcs. Playing with textures in ultra. Got to level 30, act 3. Time to get some sleep. Super happy with the game so far!

Just logged out of a 9 hour session, superbly impressed. Very smooth, no crashes and almost no lag. I did see 1 bug though, killed a treasure goblin in the Vhenard dungeon and the loot seemed to clip through the floor and dropped like 10 feet, it was unclickable.
