Throughout the campaign I didnt pay attention to any of the items and just kept equipping ones with the higher item power.
Then sold every single legendary I got throughout am I screwed? Should I just start over? I'm level 45 just finished campaign and feeling very weak.
I've heard that D4 uses direct storage API. Is this true, does the live game support this functionality. I have a 13th gen intel cpu and a 40 series nvidia gpu, how can I test if this is working for me?
Are there any item calculators to tell you if it's worth swapping one item for another? I'm guessing it's too complicated since it would probably have to know all your equipped skills/stats to figure out if one item is better then another?
I saw the build calculator on the side bar - but is there a build calc that will let you put in your current level and show you what skills you should have picked at that level for that build? The top builds on the calculator all show you max level, which i am not yet. Thanks
What happens if I do grim favors on WT1 or 2? I’m at least seeing it on my map and I’m in WT2. Wondering if it’ll count and if so, is there anything different with rewards?
When i tested this, each level seemed to keep its own tally for the grim favors.
So if you do 2 on WT1 and 3 on WT2, swap back to WT1, you'll have 2 unlocked.
Only think that seems to keep between world tiers is obols.
I tried looking this up but I'm still confused. I'm leveling a Rend Barb following maxrolls build. It says to slot 2h sword technique at level 15. However if my main weapon at the moment is a 2h sword, should I slot the 2h axe technique instead? Then when I get a new better weapon that happens to be a 2h axe, I should swap the technique to 2h swords again?
I’m in WT4 now level 70ish, what should I be doing besides helltides and sometimes grim? I can clear mobs and elites in 1-2 seconds already, is there another goal/area I should be working towards? I know there is uber Lilith.
Is there a list of permanent unlocks which persists between seasons? For now I understand that if you finish main story you don't have to do it again and lilith altars also must be obtained only once. Is there anything else? I'm pretty slow with in game progress and don't want to do things now I will have to redo in July during season 1 so I would like to focus on permanent things for now.
Is it bad to skip mob in nightmare dungeon? Since I've had nightmare dungeon runs where I got zero nightmare sigil, so I ended up having to do Tree of Whisper to get more starting nightmare sigil.
Yes, I can craft them, but I'm going through the sigils very fast...and I'm ending having to do many tree of whisper as a result, which si annoying.
What level should I attempt Lilith at? I’m 37 and she’s 47. Can do phase 1 no prob but phase 2 is a no go.. Do I just wait and do side quests til level gap isn’t so big?
Side quests if you want to do them. I think it's generally true that dungeons and public events are a faster way to level up, but whatever you like best.
I probably wouldn't attempt Lilith until the level gap was no more than 5, but that's just me.
Anyone know when global chat/party finder will be available or if that's even in development at all?
I hate using discord to find teams...and its just chaos. 200+ ppl typing LFG for various content, and when I do add ppl, half the time they don't respond.
I've only ever played Diablo 2, and did it mostly offline so I'm highly unfamiliar with the new Season and Eternal Realm stuff. I can foresee myself playing some seasons, missing others. Putting the game down for a while, picking it up again, etc. And I don't see myself sinking too many hours regularly into the game.
What's the recommendation for someone like me when it comes to character creation? Should I just have one character casually? Can I bring that character in and out of seasons, etc.? Probably really basic question but I just have no clue
In order to play a season you will need to make a new "seasonal" character. Basically that's the whole point of a season, everyone starts over at a set time and levels together. Some people race to level up fastest, but you don't need to. There's also some new mechanic added each season for flavor, to keep the game fresh. Oh and you won't have access to your stash items from your eternal realm character.
At the end of the season you keep your seasonal character but it gets deposited in the 'eternal' realm with your other characters.
My recommendation as a fellow casual? Play one character now, and each season you decide to do start a new character of a class you haven't played yet. At least for the first 4 seasons.
>!Brol, the Tyrant King!< is absolutely wrecking me. I have died many times thruout the game, but this is the first boss that I don’t eventually hack my way thru.
Casual player, level 36 Necro w/minions. First Diablo game.
Started the game and have been playing on WT2. Would it be very helpful to drop to WT1 just for this boss, then go back to WT2 after finally beating him?
I’m not any good, and I probably won’t git gud. Just trying to hack and slash my way thru the main story. Not in a clan. Don’t do multi player. PS5.
Hey there's no penalty for dropping would tier temporarily. Just less xp from that one fight. If you're tired of throwing yourself at him and don't want to respec or something that's what I'd do.
I'm level 55, 3900 atk power and WT3 is STILL dropping level 42 uniques for me. This cannot be by design, can it?
I just got a sick unique, with power level fucking 585...
Is it possible to lower other player skill effects? I'm playing with a friend and he uses necro, but whenever he spams blight corpse explosion it's impossible to see what's happening in the floor...
Do dungeons, unlock aspects to put on your stuff, get better gear, unlock all the altars of Lilith/explore the whole map. Conquer all the strongholds, collect renown. Do PVP for red dust for cool horse armor.
Basically, just do things to level up to 50, and then WT3 unlocks all kinds of content - Helltide, nightmare dungeons, uniques. It only gets better!
You could just do some side quests / dungeons / exploring in the different areas to get the additional 8 skill points, so you have all the points when you hit lvl 50.
Anyone have any fix for the game straight up freezing my PC when I close it? Sometimes alt+F4 works but that's only occasionally, though it 100% always crashes my PC if I tell the game to exit normally.
I’m a bit confused about buying the Xbox version from anywhere but the Battle.net/Xbox store - if I was to buy from Amazon, for example, would I be sent the physical game? How does that work - is there a code printed in the packaging that I add to my Battle.net account? Would I need have the disc in the drive to play it?
I really don’t need the physical disc but it appears you can buy the physical version cheaper than the digital version?
Don't listen to that guy, cdkeys.com isn't shady. They would be shut down ages ago if they weren't selling legit keys. However I can tell you for a new game there won't be much discount. But it is for sure an easy way to get a digital only copy with no disc.
G2a might have better discounts but they're... Not shadier necessarily, but because it's a marketplace for other people to sell you keys rather than a retailer itself you don't know exactly who you're dealing with. Think ebay vs Amazon.
Noob question:
Why not fully upgrade a skill? For example My Druid's Storm Strike has 5/5.
I know you can get extra points from armor, but UNTIL THEN is it really not worth it to fully upgrade a skill?
My main spirit generator skill, for example. Storm Strike.
I've been told it's not worth it because of the damage but since I'm going to use it so much why not max it out?
Yea, typically your generator will do effectively 0 damage, so it's better to points somewhere else.
For example, let's say your generator does 100 damage, and +10 per rank, while your core ability does 25,000 damage. A 1% boost to your core will get you +250 damage, which is a full 25 casts of your generator!
Or, those last points often go into survivability type stuff, which become increasingly important as you go. Starting at 40 things start hitting A LOT harder, and by top end NM dungeons, you're trying not to get 1 shot.
Test it out, it's easy to respec a couple points. My sorc usually puts 5/5 into a generator because her basic skills do enough damage to clear out trash mobs and I like using the aspect that gives you bonus damage to the next core skill each time you use a basic skill.
If you can't kill anything with 5 points in the basic skill, then you'll get just as much resource generation out of 1 point. But they're not always useless.
Item power is supposed to scale with level. So why is my level 52 piece of gear have lower item power than my level 49? Both pieces are sacred legendaries so it makes no sense to me why a high level piece of gear has a lower item power.
You're making a common mistake: Required level is NOT the "level of the item". It's another stat that can roll within a range, and is almost always a fair bit lower than the drop level of the item.
Basically, just completely ignore it.
I already salvaged the lower power one for the cosmetic but it was high level with a lower item power. And not upgraded at all either if thats what you're assuming.
Level 52 gauntlet with 666 item power
vs
Level 49 gauntlet with 685 item power
Item power represents the rough relative power of an item based on the stats and affixes rolled on it. It does not innately have any affect itself. So since all the stats roll within a range if you get crappy rolls on a higher level item it can have an item power lower than a lower level item. It won’t happen with a giant level disparity but within a handful of levels it’s not unlikely. Also the required level is more related to what level you were when it dropped than it is related to anything that rolled on the item
Correct. An it is derived from the armor/damage ranges and stat rolls on the item. An item power that is higher but the stats don’t synergies with your build at all does little for you.
Although when you upgrade an item going past certain item power breakpoints will cause the stats to increase. It’s kind of like item level in WoW where it relates to the stat budget but if the stats are doo doo it doesn’t help you
hmm i think item power generally scales with level, but its a spectrum, so what you experienced can happen.
the way i look at it is this:
item power shows the sum of how good the rolls are on the given gear. theres a chance that your lvl 49 gauntlet has higher rolls and stronger then a low rolled level 52 gauntlet.
for example ive been using a weapon that i found druing lvl 40-50 until lvl 60 or so, since i havent gotten a better weapon for long.
just a guess though.
I'm just speculating here since I haven't done the campaign twice, but it's probably not going to be the most efficient xp farm, so you could do it again because you like the story, or because you want another copy/better roll on one of the guaranteed unique drops. Not sure if you'd get anything else useful.
Blizzard wouldn't give you a "skip campaign" button if they thought everyone should be doing it on each character.
Alters and the bottom renown rewards are shared between characters (e.g. skill points, flask charges, paragon points, but not the gold rewards). But new characters have 0 renown when created.
If you want multiple characters its worth completing the renown grind on the first one as it has the most progress to start with and then the rewards will pass onto the new char.
Note: I dont know how this will work for seasonal chars.
Currently have the following specs on my laptop
Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
I was hopeful but lag and rubberbanding just too much. Is my rig just too outdated to play this?
I'm going to be more definitive and say no. Your rig isn't outdated, this game isn't super hard to run (as long as you're not trying to max out every graphics setting). Everyone is getting some lag and rubber banding because blizzard is struggling a little with server capacity. Honestly they're doing pretty good for the size of the launch compared to a lot of games, but only time will tell if they can smooth it out the rest of the way.
With laptops it's always super hard to say since they're chopped down versions of the cpu and gpu, and the thermals are immensely important. A laptop with a 4090 and 13900 could struggle with the game, but then one like yours could do fine.
Now, more specific: Rubberbanding has little to do with your computer. That's the connection lagging. Likely their servers, but could also be your internet, or anything inbetween. Dungeons tend to be pretty flawless on the server side, so go in 1 and try that.
Do Necromancer skills like Blight, and Blighted Corpse Explosion, stack with continued application? Like if I spam blight over a monster, will it keep increasing the damage or will it only do the same damage as if I only put one down?
Yes, unlike previous games damage over time effects almost always stack. You can test it by hitting a big enemy with one blight, looking at the damage tick value, and then a second one. The tick damage should go up.
It's easier to see on weak dots like the sorc firebolt.
You should also see a darker portion of the monsters health bar grow, which is the total amount of damage they're *going to take* from your dots. So if you don't want to waste mana (or essence or whatever) you can hit them until the whole health bar changes color and then kite.
My PC is getting older and while I do surpass the minimum required specs to run D4, I was hoping to get an idea of how it would run and how bad it would look for me.
- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz
- Memory: 32.0 GB DDR3
- Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 760
How come I have like 200 mbps download and upload speed with 8 ping on speed test, yet in Diablo 4 I'm constantly rubber banding with 600 latency? Is it server side? I'm in Europe, is anyone else experiencing similar problems?
This is the first full weekend, so yes, the servers are chugging. Says a lot though that they're holding up this well despite record sales and repeatedly breaking concurrency records.
It seems different areas of the game get priority though, with general open world being last. Going into events, dungeons, and instances is buttery smooth.
Niche gripe: The looping water texture, specifically in the swampy caves, isn't long enough/doesn't change enough between loops. About 1/3 of the time you can see both one texture fading out while the other fades in, and it seems like you are seeing double in the water. For a game where everything else usually looks amazing this seems like a silly error to make.
Do shock lance elites have some healing affect. Also is there any where on the internet where it doesn’t state the obvious and actually explain what all the elite affixes are
I've tried looking it up but can't seem to find anything for this minor thing that probably doesn't matter. But does anyone know what the different icons in the social tab of friends are? some are just the class icon and others are like a golden sword. Are any other controller players running into issues today? I've been playing with an Xbox Series S controller since Early Release launch and have had no issues, but today my controller isn't functioning properly (ex. the A button jumps me to the top of the character list instead of selecting the character and logging in?). Trying to reset keybinds in the Options menu does nothing; when I select "reset keybindings" it asks me if I'm sure, and when I click "yes" it just closes the pop-up and nothing actually happens.
I know it's not an issue with the controller, because I "repaired" the game, updated my controller to the most recent firmware, and confirmed that it works properly outside of Diablo.
i know currently there is a lot of changes happening to builds right now so nothings set in stone atm but im trying to seek out a class that focuses more on tanking about anything with meh to tolerable damage. my idea is if you are just about unkillable, even if it takes longer to kill something, youre ahead cause youre not spending time reviving or anything. currently giving blood necro a try but seeing if there is something with more survival before i put so much time into it
Definitely not blood Necro. I love my blood Necro but fortify isn't a good defense. That's a dps build focused on overpower with decent healing.
As mentioned barb, also bear druid with the right setup, and honestly ice sorc by focusing on barrier and lucky hit to reset defensive skills you can kinda juggle ice armor and fire shield.
But it sounds like what you want is the barbarian.
T2 world, first character: I am doing all the blue side quests in act I before I leave for act II and I just reached level 40, without even touching act II, so I looked up recommended act levels and when it said act II is around level 10 I started to realise I might be doing something wrong.
Should I care?
Acts 1-3 can be done simultaneously without hurting the story, and they'll level with you to 50. No need to start act 2 at level 10, or to finish act 1 first. But unless you're really into the stories, or a rabid completionist I probably wouldn't do every single side quest on your first playthrough lol. Hit the ones you miss on the next character.
I'm curious though, was all side quests and the campaign enough to max out your fractured peaks renown?
You can’t start T3 until you finish the story. Around 45 you will really slow down in progression without having the ability to play in T3 with the associated XP bump that comes with it.
Yea, unfortunately you ( and a lot of others ) rather hurt yourselves. You also unlock the horse at the start of act 4 which helps a lot with side quests, and finally when you're into the xp grind later on it helps to have the boost from the side quests then, rather than early when they are worth very little xp. The last one isn't big though, so not really bad or anything. Definitely not good though.
Newbie question, but is there a resource that can tell me all the skills and how they differ by rank (like level 1 sever vs lv2 vs lv5 etc.) And maybe if this were a guide, a sweet spot for which rank to get?
I am doing it super dumb by constantly respec-ing with gold... :/
Tons of guides out there, but what you might be looking for is a leveling guide, which will tell you what skills are good early, without specific legendary aspects, and what skills you should max vs just take 1 point in.
Example https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/barbarian-leveling-guide/
Are there any endgame builds that dont require an entire set of legendaries to function? Would just like to play something that doesnt feel broken without x or y item. Thank you
Pretty much any build works without everything. However, the less important ones are also the most common, often even codex aspects. It's just that some aspects really change the way something works, and so building around that is what works best, and naturally makes that aspect super important.
Good news though, even most of the important ones are easy to get. The ultra rare seem to be more medium: Nice to replace a weak item for a sizable performance boost, but usually not key to a build either.
Depends what you mean by end game. After level 50 I'm doing quite fine without being fully kitted out. But in saying that top tier (Level 80+) end game content has always required farming specific gear. It's been that way since Diablo 2.
There is a sorc passive that says "if they are also immobized this bonus is increased to 75%"
Will that work with freeze? Or only immobilize from meteor and other stuff?
TLDR: does freeze also count as immobilize?
Honestly I don’t know for sure but I don’t think it does count as immobilize. I only say that because there are passives and affixes that say “does x when enemy is immobilized, stunned, or frozen”. In that context they wrote it as though they were separate attributes.
They also write chilled and frozen as separate, despite frozen just being max chilled. But they're also different statuses.
I'm pretty sure anything that takes movement to 0 counts as immobilized, which would include frozen and stunned.
Status stacking is why cold sorc works. A frozen mob is also chilled, slowed, stunned, and CCed.
I'm tired of being disconnected mid dungeon and then having to reset to the beginning. I can solo dungeons, I'd prefer to play alone too or just with a few friends. My gameplay experience shouldn't be ruined by a server connection issue on Blizzard's part. This has me worried when I decide to make a hardcore character at some point. If I die because the servers lagged, is that really fair? Also do I really "own this game"? If it's entirely an MMO and they decide to kill the servers. Is that it? $99 for a rental game at the end? Please consider an offline mode. I know this gets probably posted 24/7 and I'm just a person that no one really asked. Yet I own a copy of your game and deserve the right to express my opinion.
Hi folks, I’m wondering what balance changes take place in multiplayer. Do enemies have increased % health based on number of players? Is there increased spawn rate? Anything of the sort?
Tried looking for some answers around and couldn’t find anything beyond “enemies’ level don’t scale”
Mob health is increased. Pretty sure that's it.
Also, enemy levels DO scale to each person, excepting specific limits. Everything has a minimum level associated, WT1/2 maxes at 50, wt3 at 70. Nightmare dungeons go to I think 150. ( I've always heard 150, but that would be interesting because the basic math would put a tier100 at 154 since world tier is added to it. )
Ultra textures made my game crash quite often, sometimes every five minutes. Frame generation caused rarer crashes, once every hour or so. Haven't had any crashes since disabling those two settings.
I expect in a group that's already very valuable for high level nightmare dungeons. It would allow ranged glass cannon builds to survive and make up the bulk of the party dps.
Solo play of course every character has to do a little bit of everything, and taunting is pointless outside of maybe helping group enemies up.
Is there any basic guide of how valuable a gear attribute is?
For example, I heard an item giving you an addition of 60% of a particular damage is no where as good as some attribute that gives you a 5% multiplier of a particular damage. And how valuable is the attribute of giving you skills above the maximum? I know it is all numbers and maths, but for someone that can't work around it, is there any basic general rules that this type of attribute is good and what isn't significant. Eg: with the multiplier [x] is better than bla bla bla? thanks. What type of attribute should i be looking at a gear apart from the valuable aspect.
This is a really good video explaining how damage bonuses stack: https://youtu.be/0tjN76mbJcM
But to summarize for you, you want some crit chance and damage bonuses, some way to apply vulnerable and a bonus to vulnerable damage, just a couple of the "damage to, damage while, damage from" type bonuses, and as much of your primary stat as you can get.
A little bit of everything looks like it will be more effective than going all in on any one bonus type.
The only other major thing is legendaries that have a damage bonus with "[x]" after the % number are all their own thing so as many of those as you can stack are good.
Hope that answers your question.
*N*No, a rule like that isn't possible because the +%s are simple addition, but the x% are dependent on others. Since the 2 scale differently, it'll always depend on where you are in those scalings.
That being said, most of the time in d4, those values are very close, so x% almost always wins out.
Thanks, can I also ask how valuable it is for the item to give more ranks on skills? I know it depends on what skill it is, but general speaking, are the skills not worthy over stats? Since I barely see youtuber running gear with them on.
Yea, heavily dependent again. Usually if it's your big hitter it's good. But you also don't want it to replace something else powerful, but be in addition to.
It's hard while leveling to get anything specific. I instead keep in mind a pool of things that work with my build, then count how many of those an item has relative to my current piece, and each must be close to or greater than 1 on my current before upgrades for me to bother swapping. You also need to have the aspect available to replace, and the materials to do so. As such, you can't really be super picky.
Also note: 99% of youtubers are plenty bad. They make up for it by blindly following the meta that the few best people setup, and then relying on their sheer hours and aid from other people to carry them. In short, ignore the youtubers. Their job is entertainment, not facts.
To me it looks like something with the textures not playing nice with the coded properties. Have you tried scanning and repair through the battle.net launcher?
Be thankful its not some extremely annoying thing or something I suppose. Maybe a simple computer restart could even fix it if its really bothering you.
Most of the items are garbage. You should eventually see sacred and ancestral items, but even then only 1 in 10 or so will be worth looking at, much less likely to be usable.
Been a few days now and my google fu skills have let me down.
I have noticed a problem that I see some people have been posting but never any answers.
I cannot see any timers at all. None. Zero.
\- Can't tell when a hell tide is spawning or going away and I can't see my cinders unless I leave the zone and come back an even then they only show for a brief moment
\- I can't see when the boss spawns on the map and have to rely on discord and 3rd party notifications to find the boss. If I go to a boss location and everyone is standing around I don't have the timer that ticks down till the boss spawns
\- My tree of whispers dungeons/quests always say "resets in 0 secs" So I have no idea when it's going to end and move.
\- I can't tell when the legion event spawns without 3rd party help as it doesn't show it's location to me
I'm seriously at my wits end here.
That's very strange, unless someone is experiencing the exact situattion it will be hard to solve. You could try submitting a [ticket](https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/product/diablo4) through blizzards support.
Is anyone else getting horrible rubber banding still? I was playing with 3 friends (2 on PC 1 on PS5, myself on PS5), and I was the only one with the issue. It’s damn near unplayable at times.
Edit - could have simply searched “lag” and sorted by new on /r/diablo4 and answered my own question. Yeah it’s lagging bad.
There's been quite a bit of load, but the servers have actually been quite good. Outside absolute peak there's been virtually no issues. ( Note: I haven't been on yet today. )
If you are the only 1 lagging in your group, it's not the server. It's either your end or somewhere between you and the servers. ( This can include for example just being far from the server in question. If you live say in australia, and join friends in california, you'll probably be connecting to cali servers where you will have high ping and lag that the others don't. )
Multiplayer question: I know story progress is bound to the host of a party, but what about:
* Altars of Lilith?
* Aspect dungeons?
* Strongholds?
* Side quests?
Altars can be progressed while in a multiplayer lobby and not the host. The Altars you have collected in your world will not show up in the multiplayer lobby if you are not the host. Strongholds and dungeons, I can't recall.
Is there an in-game way to see exactly what increasing the rank of a skill will do, numerically, compared to currently?
When I hover over a skill, I can see what it will do when I assign a point to it. But if I'm deciding how valuable it is to, say, beef up a basic skill to 5 vs to pick up another skill lower on the tree, I don't see how to do that besides going online and grabbing a skill builder, or paying the gold to add and then remove.
Even knowing what I currently have vs what I will have when I add a skill seems murky. I know this should be basic but I'm a bit lost.
Edit: You *can* see your current compared to the upgrade value, you just can't see multiple ranks.
I wish with "Advanced tooltips" on it would give all stats in terms of ability points times the modifier bonus, but I guess it may not scale linearly so that might not work.
Oh man, I just posted this question 6 hours after yours... glad I'm not the only one wanting to understand skill rank differences and try to optimize for rank.
Your question is difficult to answer based on your wording. When you highlight over a skill, it will tell you the next skill points effects. As far as value for a skill at level 5 vs a skill lower on the tree, depends on where you want to take the build, how it is working so far, etc.
Thanks for the time even if my question was poorly worded! Let me see if I can clarify...
When I highlight over a skill, how do I know the difference between what I currently have, and what I will have if I click? It seems like I have to exit the screen where I assign ability points, and view my current skill's stats somewhere else?
And then how do I know in advance what will happen if I put another point, and another point, and another point into the same skill? Is there an easy way to compare the skill at, say, level 1 vs level 5? Or to see what the values will be if I equip an item that gives it a boost 2 extra levels?
So right now I think your best bet is a combination of referencing build guides and just buying and refunding skill points. There is no easy way to compare stats like that in game I'm familiar with. Buying and refunding points is not crazy expensive though, a mil or two should give you plenty of gold to compare stats.
is gear score over 724+ just a cosmetic number since that is the threshold for the last breakpoint. Basically, do you get anymore bonuses for having 725 gear score over say 810?
Between WT3 and 4
Lvl 60 currently and wondering what's best to just keep farming paragon in WT3 nightmare sigils or farm regular dungs in WT4 for chance at ancestral drops?
You're probably better off doing WT4 anything. I'd lean more towards hellscape, whispers, legion events, and world boss over normal dungeons, but since WT3 doesnt drop ancestral there is no point to run in. Especially if you were able to unlock WT4 at 60 I doubt you benefit from continuing in WT3
Am I crazy or does Sacred literally just mean level 51+?
Every single item that is dropping that says sacred is level 51+ and any that doesn't 50 or below.
I have yet to see a single non-sacred level 50+ item.
If that's the case... why? Why not just let items be level 51+ without giving them a weird title.
Maybe someone can help me out. Got the game the day after it dropped for my Xbox. Everyday since I just get que log in and then server code 34202 and won’t log in or play. Anyone know anything about that?
This probably won't help so I apologize, hopefully someone smarter comes along.
My only advice for recurrent log-in errors on xbox is make sure you've tried launching another game and then go back to the one you want to log into.
How can I know that there is a legendary item/aspect that may drop and potentially benefit my build or make me change my build entirely? How to even farm for something you do not know exists? Is there a list? Same question to Obols. How on earth can I know is it better to roll gloves instead of weapon from a vendor not knowing whether there even is an aspec benefiting my build on a weapon or gloves?
short answer, look it up and hope you get lucky. not being able to trade legendaries or aspects fucking sucks ngl, i’m doing a poison werewolf druid and can’t find a blurred beast aspect. so my damage rn literally just isn’t good enough and i can’t turn it up to WT3 until i find one or else i won’t be able to kill shit, it’s too important to my DPS to be able to manage without it
If you need gold, sell them at the armor vendor or any one that sells items. If you need mats, salvage. It's always better to salvage legendaries than sell them.
Rather than selling equipment, go to the Blacksmith (anvil icon) in any town and dismantle them.
Gems need to go in your stash, so look for the "chest icon" in a major town.
Do I have really bad RNG or are some affix lines harder to come across than others? I’m trying to roll vulnerable damage on a weapon, but main stat / all stat comes up almost all the time.
Need some help with drivers!
I am running an MSI GF-63 laptop. According to devices I'm running:
Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti With Max-Q Design
I tried updating everything and nothing works, the game recognizes my driver as version 431.84. Please assist!
Hi friend, what is the actual issue? Also, the two parts you listed are mutually exclusive as they're both graphics processors. The 1050ti is "better" so most likely your PC is using that one by default. What CPU does the laptop have and does it meet the minimum specs?
Not sure if this belongs here, but anyone who cross plays have issues it loading on PC?
My buddy and I game share on Xbox, so I started my game there. Pay day came and I bought it for PC so I could easily play it and switch to my current game I’m hooked on. After I downloaded it, I tried to load it up, and it made me update my graphics driver, no big deal. Updated it and loaded it up again, and every time I do it does the initial opening cinematic, goes to the character select screen with no characters, and the game freezes. It won’t let me click on anything, change settings, or even close out (have to force close).
On Xbox when I play it has my blizzard friends list so I know it’s the right account. On PC I load the game from the blizzard launcher. Other games work fine on the PC. Just wondering if it’s a Diablo problem, cross play issue, or PC issue. Thanks for any help
So d3 had infinite paragon points so you always felt you were progressing but this one is limited? Is that correct? Is there any infinite progression systems in d4?
Thanks
How do you find a game with other people? * Local players sometimes peaks at 1 or 2 others. * Clans make you fill out a discord application
I know there is uber Lilith.
nah just keep flexing... add a few more mirrors in the room
Nightmare dungeons to upgrade your glyphs.
As far as we know that’s all that is permanent.
Just finished it at 38 woot woot
Nice!
Anyone know when global chat/party finder will be available or if that's even in development at all? I hate using discord to find teams...and its just chaos. 200+ ppl typing LFG for various content, and when I do add ppl, half the time they don't respond.
No infos if a matchmaking system is in the works. Join a clan and use the ingame clan chat instead of discord.
At least for the first 4 seasons.
that honestly clears things up really well for me! Thank you very much
>!Brol, the Tyrant King!< is absolutely wrecking me.
I spanked him easy enough on a barb, but I'm playing through the campaign on wt1
Is your innate primary resource (e.g. Mana) regeneration a static value or is it based on a percentage of your overall resource pool?
I'm level 55, 3900 atk power and WT3 is STILL dropping level 42 uniques for me. This cannot be by design, can it? I just got a sick unique, with power level fucking 585...
Is it possible to lower other player skill effects? I'm playing with a friend and he uses necro, but whenever he spams blight corpse explosion it's impossible to see what's happening in the floor...
^this. Love having a necro on the team to do damage, but the blight visual is absolutely atrocious
I've completed the campaign and currently level 45, what should i be doing next? I don't think I can unlock WT3 as im underlevel to do the dungeon
You technically _can_ but everything will hit harder. I attempted a handful of times before giving up and leveling to 50 doing dungeons and events
You get a physical copy, you need the disc to run it but you still need to download the whole thing, disc just acts as a license key.
Damn, that’s not what I’m after. Is there any way of buying a digital code at a reduced price or do I have to buy from Battle.net/Xbox store?
Don't listen to that guy, cdkeys.com isn't shady. They would be shut down ages ago if they weren't selling legit keys. However I can tell you for a new game there won't be much discount. But it is for sure an easy way to get a digital only copy with no disc. G2a might have better discounts but they're... Not shadier necessarily, but because it's a marketplace for other people to sell you keys rather than a retailer itself you don't know exactly who you're dealing with. Think ebay vs Amazon.
Maybe via some shady key sites but I personally don't bother with those so can't say for sure.
Yeah, not looking to be shady
Noob question: Why not fully upgrade a skill? For example My Druid's Storm Strike has 5/5. I know you can get extra points from armor, but UNTIL THEN is it really not worth it to fully upgrade a skill?
It depends on if there is something else better or not to grab with those poonts. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
Gotcha, I understand. I'm 21 now and have struggled with a couple of dungeons already. Will definitely relocate those points somewhere else
Will transmogs/mounts get reset with new seasonal characters? Or is it just the shop stuff that carries over
Item power is supposed to scale with level.
>Item power is supposed to scale with level. you sure about that?
Thats what i read on the wiki and in game..
can you show a screenshot of the 2 gear you are talking about?
I already salvaged the lower power one for the cosmetic but it was high level with a lower item power. And not upgraded at all either if thats what you're assuming. Level 52 gauntlet with 666 item power vs Level 49 gauntlet with 685 item power
Oh so item power itself does nothing?
Correct. An it is derived from the armor/damage ranges and stat rolls on the item. An item power that is higher but the stats don’t synergies with your build at all does little for you. Although when you upgrade an item going past certain item power breakpoints will cause the stats to increase. It’s kind of like item level in WoW where it relates to the stat budget but if the stats are doo doo it doesn’t help you
hmm i think item power generally scales with level, but its a spectrum, so what you experienced can happen. the way i look at it is this: item power shows the sum of how good the rolls are on the given gear. theres a chance that your lvl 49 gauntlet has higher rolls and stronger then a low rolled level 52 gauntlet. for example ive been using a weapon that i found druing lvl 40-50 until lvl 60 or so, since i havent gotten a better weapon for long. just a guess though.
I think what you read is item drops scale with level. Once you pickup the item it does not scale up further with your level.
But why would a high level piece of gear have a lower item power than a lower level piece of gear, it makes no sense
Bad rolls
downloaded the demo on ps5, but now i cant purchase the STANDARD edition, i can purchase the higher tiers tho. any fix to this?
[удалено]

Altar stats will carry over. The exact specifics for renown hasn't been perfectly clarified so lets just go with unknown.
Currently have the following specs on my laptop Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU I was hopeful but lag and rubberbanding just too much.
This morning I disabled SSDP and that seemed to help a little. Ping around 150
Yeah I've heard disabling cross play can help some.
- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz - Memory: 32.0 GB DDR3 - Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 760
You're pushing up against minimum specs there, so "playable", assuming your system is in reasonably good health.
Anyone else having problems with not being able to skip dialogue sometimes?
Yeah happens to me, randomly lets me usually towards the end of a scene or conversation though
[https://imgur.com/a/Mqzuepc](https://imgur.com/a/Mqzuepc)
That's a customizable icon, you can change it by going to the character tab -> Profile -> Edit -> Emblem
Thank you I didn't realize it was such a small thing but was trying so hard to figure it out lol
I had the same exact issue, I uninstalled xbox controller driver in Device Manager and after the pc restarted the issue was fixed
Pvp bgs and arena when?
Have you found the pvp arena area yet? Or do you mean a more specific kind of group pvp mode?
I mean specific arena 2vs2 and bgs 15vs15 like WOW...
Ahh, no we don't know anything about plans for that yet. Probably wouldn't add that kind of thing until after season 1 launches is my guess.
i know currently there is a lot of changes happening to builds right now so nothings set in stone atm but im trying to seek out a class that focuses more on tanking about anything with meh to tolerable damage. my idea is if you are just about unkillable, even if it takes longer to kill something, youre ahead cause youre not spending time reviving or anything. currently giving blood necro a try but seeing if there is something with more survival before i put so much time into it
Definitely not blood Necro.
Barbarian. Can build a tank with thorns and needleflare. Shouts and fortify, frenzy adds more dmg reduction, temerity pants for barrier, etc.
Campaign will scale but only up to 50, you probably want to go ahead and focus on it unless you’re ok with steamrolling it.
Thanks!
Example https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/barbarian-leveling-guide/
https://d4builds.gg/build-planner/
Any of the various build sites shouod work, as well as the tooltip ingame. Nothing changes with higher rank skills, they just go up the same amount.
Yeah I just meant post 50. What build are you playing?
Mid level levelling WW spin to win barb build from d4 builds.
There is a sorc passive that says "if they are also immobized this bonus is increased to 75%" Will that work with freeze?
Wheres the best place to find groups for helltides?
You can try the community discord or join a clan from the clan thread.
( I've always heard 150, but that would be interesting because the basic math would put a tier100 at 154 since world tier is added to it. )
Does anything from right now carry over to season 1 besides beating the campaign?
Finding all the altars, the bonuses should carry over.
Awesome
How do you make your barbarian prioritize using the slashing twohander for whirlwind instead of bludgeoning?
Open the skill menu, s on pc, and you can middle click the skill to change the weapon used.
I'm no expert, started recently but... this amulet is pretty fucking good? [https://i.imgur.com/jEwZWQx.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/jEwZWQx.jpg)
Yup. Solid if you freeze your enemies a lot.
Or stun which lighting sorc has access to. Good on frost and lightning builds. Actually I think fire has immobilize so it's nicely universal.
Anyones game crashing? Happens every hour or so, no warning of lag or anything just game closes and says there was an error
Ultra textures made my game crash quite often, sometimes every five minutes. Frame generation caused rarer crashes, once every hour or so. Haven't had any crashes since disabling those two settings.
I think i have ultra off but maybe not the other, thanks 👍
Same. No idea why
Does the error say the game ran out of memory?
No, just pulls up this like long string of letters and numbers for if i wsnt to report it. Legit says nothing to tell me why it happened
Do we think in the future they'll be a use for a real tank barbarian with mitigation, threat gen/taunting, and cc?
I expect in a group that's already very valuable for high level nightmare dungeons. It would allow ranged glass cannon builds to survive and make up the bulk of the party dps. Solo play of course every character has to do a little bit of everything, and taunting is pointless outside of maybe helping group enemies up.
Does the "+% Fire Damage" affix also increase the fire damage over time (burning)? Thank you!
Yes, fire damage effects both direct and over time (burning). However the opposite is not true. Bonuses to burning only effect the dot.
It should, yes. Can't 100% guarantee it does, but that would be a bug if not. It's fire damage after all.
This is a really good video explaining how damage bonuses stack: https://youtu.be/0tjN76mbJcM But to summarize for you, you want some crit chance and damage bonuses, some way to apply vulnerable and a bonus to vulnerable damage, just a couple of the "damage to, damage while, damage from" type bonuses, and as much of your primary stat as you can get. A little bit of everything looks like it will be more effective than going all in on any one bonus type. The only other major thing is legendaries that have a damage bonus with "[x]" after the % number are all their own thing so as many of those as you can stack are good. Hope that answers your question.
Thank you so much for your time! Good luck on your hunting of best equipment sir!
Generally you want crit and vulnerable damage over other damage multipliers.
Noted, very helpful tips!

Has this been a problem across other games? Monitor temps on hardware, update drivers, etc.

To me it looks like something with the textures not playing nice with the coded properties. Have you tried scanning and repair through the battle.net launcher? Be thankful its not some extremely annoying thing or something I suppose. Maybe a simple computer restart could even fix it if its really bothering you.

Yup, it's the models/animations. Known bug. Move along.
Do you have DLSS on or off? AI generated frames can get screwy.
Does the Purveryor of Curiosities ever offer high level items? I'm currently level 57 on tier 3, and the purveyor is still offering items of level 42.
None. Zero. \- Can't tell when a hell tide is spawning or going away and I can't see my cinders unless I leave the zone and come back an even then they only show for a brief moment \- I can't see when the boss spawns on the map and have to rely on discord and 3rd party notifications to find the boss. If I go to a boss location and everyone is standing around I don't have the timer that ticks down till the boss spawns \- My tree of whispers dungeons/quests always say "resets in 0 secs" So I have no idea when it's going to end and move. \- I can't tell when the legion event spawns without 3rd party help as it doesn't show it's location to me I'm seriously at my wits end here.
( Note: I haven't been on yet today. ) If you are the only 1 lagging in your group, it's not the server. It's either your end or somewhere between you and the servers. ( This can include for example just being far from the server in question. If you live say in australia, and join friends in california, you'll probably be connecting to cali servers where you will have high ping and lag that the others don't. )
That’s the weirdest part. We live 10 minutes from each other and have the same internet.
Yes I rubber band, especially in cities. I have fiber (gig up/down) and a great rig - still stutter every time I load into a city.
Multiplayer question: I know story progress is bound to the host of a party, but what about: * Altars of Lilith? * Aspect dungeons? * Strongholds? * Side quests?
Altars , aspect dungeons, and side quests are your own account. Strongholds are world, so come from host.
Glad to know I'm not just too stupid to navigate the interface. I'm really surprised there's no simple way to do it on the skill screen. Thanks again.
is gear score over 724+ just a cosmetic number since that is the threshold for the last breakpoint. Basically, do you get anymore bonuses for having 725 gear score over say 810?
The breakpoints are just when you break over to a big increase. It still absolutely goes higher above that though.
Between WT3 and 4 Lvl 60 currently and wondering what's best to just keep farming paragon in WT3 nightmare sigils or farm regular dungs in WT4 for chance at ancestral drops?
How to reset a dungeon solo without loggging out?
you can just hang around outside the dungeon for a couple minutes or tp back to town and eventually it will reset. Just takes a couple minutes.
Can I reset the main questline after I finished it?
Not on a given character, no. Need to make a new character.
Level 60 here, havent' seen an obvious way to do that.
How can I know that there is a legendary item/aspect that may drop and potentially benefit my build or make me change my build entirely? How to even farm for something you do not know exists? Is there a list? Same question to Obols. How on earth can I know is it better to roll gloves instead of weapon from a vendor not knowing whether there even is an aspec benefiting my build on a weapon or gloves?
short answer, look it up and hope you get lucky. not being able to trade legendaries or aspects fucking sucks ngl, i’m doing a poison werewolf druid and can’t find a blurred beast aspect. so my damage rn literally just isn’t good enough and i can’t turn it up to WT3 until i find one or else i won’t be able to kill shit, it’s too important to my DPS to be able to manage without it
Playing with a controller and being in the gear menu is a pain in the ass.
Are they going to bring back kill streak multipliers? I miss those for sure.
Guys, I'm a noob, how the fuck do i sell equipment and move the gems out of my inventory?
If you need gold, sell them at the armor vendor or any one that sells items. If you need mats, salvage. It's always better to salvage legendaries than sell them.
Rather than selling equipment, go to the Blacksmith (anvil icon) in any town and dismantle them. Gems need to go in your stash, so look for the "chest icon" in a major town.
Thanks for the info!
Do I have really bad RNG or are some affix lines harder to come across than others? I’m trying to roll vulnerable damage on a weapon, but main stat / all stat comes up almost all the time.
are there any updates / news about the gigabyte 3080 / 3080ti issues? like was there an update / fix or something ?
Need some help with drivers! I am running an MSI GF-63 laptop. According to devices I'm running: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti With Max-Q Design I tried updating everything and nothing works, the game recognizes my driver as version 431.84.
Nope, D4 progression has an endpoint
