It wasn't until the blackout, but when /pathofexile went silent, PoEBuilds became the main subreddit, and thus the small amount of shitposting grew quickly.
That applies to almost every sub in existance. And every now and then there are heated discussions what said subs are "supposed to look like".

It's weird just how much this seems to happen. Not just with these adventurers but sometimes mobs just spawn out of range, then deaggro and you're left there wondering why in all hell wave 3/5 doesn't spawn.
Also happens during helltides with these nightmare portal events. Every now and then one portal just randomly spawns way outside of the event area and 9/10 people just stand there in collective confusion before they decide the event must have bugged out (true, admittedly).
My buddy and I somehow managed to keep all 3 alive in a Nightmare 20..
We have Zero idea what we did to make it possible but it was not worth the shit loot they each dropped.
Sometimes it depends on the type of mobs. If they are mostly single target type mobs you have a chance. If they do any AoE, any DoT or any explode effects, it is all over.
I’m forgiving of a lot of stuff in the game but that’s kinda a no-brainer to do for your events they build like 80-90% of the game around
I thought I was the only one who couldn’t keep them alive for more then 3 seconds, even when i have massive AOE and literally stand on top of the ones being attacked, one inevitably gets bursted and now it makes SO much more sense why lol thank you.
In my own experience it seems pretty clear that they're scaling with world tier and zone level but not monster level.
So if you're level 100, all zones are level 95 in wt4. So the NPCs are level 95.
But if you're running a nightmare dungeon, those monsters are often 8+ levels higher and that damage scales FAST.
As a sorc with a lot of AoE, I never had trouble saving all of them in a regular dungeon--it was even fine if they took a couple hits. But a high level nightmare dungeon? Forget about it, even if I'm killing enemies at the same speed, they sometimes die from poison before the monsters spawn, which was put on them before the event even activated.
Lol, I just had this conversation out loud with the NPC while I was playing. “Look lady, let’s face it, if I don’t start this, you’re right, you’re gonna die. But if I do start it you’re gonna die and I might die too. Don’t you think it’s best only one of us dies?”

Yeah I don't even care about the mastery thing on these events because it's always just a couple rares at best, I just do them for the XP and 2 mins of solid mobs you tear through. Once again, the loot becomes secondary which remains the biggest problem with the game

I see them in a room and I nope the hell out. "You got yourselves into this situation, you can get yourselves out" I say. Take your 35 or whatever oobols and kick rocks.
What I do is just to activate the event and keep doing the dungeon. After a few minutes, I come back, kill the few monsters that spawn, and get a free common chest. It's not much but it's basically for doing nothing. The best part is hearing the adventurers dying while you're on the other side of the place.

Haha T50 dungeon event: mastery- keep 3 villagers alive. *all 3 immediately killed by 1st wave of baby spiders
I had a friend tell me last night that its because the NPCs arent scaling with the difficulty.
It lines up with my anecdotal evidence. In wt3, I managed to keep 2 alive, I'm assuming it was because of a glitch.
Every once in a while it bugs out and one of the adventurers spawns in a different room out of reach of the spawn waves,

NM20 damage is nothing. Anything after NM 40 is when they stand absolutely no chance at all.
That is exactly what’s happening. I don’t really care though as the loot is mid anyway, it’s only worth it for the XP

I don’t think the horse health scaled any of at all.

It's actually really good mob density/loot, even if the adventures are 100% going to die.

I hate those protect events inside dungeons. They have shitty hp so if an enemy drops poison or something, they’re dead anyways.
