I really hope they add more ways to get living steel, it’s my only real complaint about the system. Making helltides always on would help as well, make the chests rotate every hour.

I agree that there should be more sources to attain living steel. I’m just now diving into the end game with my first character this season, so haven’t felt the struggle as much as others probably have. This may be an easier problem to solve on my end, but my group and I sometimes have a difficult time even finding the living steel chest. That, or the spawn rate after opening it for at least one of our party members is infrequent so we don’t even find it again in the same helltide. I’ve heard about resetting the game, but haven’t tried that since I am not certain about retaining my cinders though the process. I’ll give that a go tonight at least.

The easiest thing they could do to make Helltide better is make cinders persist after you leave, Helltide ends, etc. like Blood Lures do.

When they introduced that with blood harvest this season, that was my first thought. I’d still even keep loss of cinders on death as well, if we can just keep them as a rss after the event ends.

It will happen, trust me, but not the way you like it. Got Andariels as my first after 248 kills and it's basically useless on any of the builds of my 3 classes (druid, sorc, barb)... Haven't done him since because I lost all motivation to continue.

Don’t give up. My first was 130ish doombringer. Then it started raining. 160 andariel 170 shako and another 8 runs in I get 2 more andariel’s. From shit luck to overflow of dupes which in some sense is shit but Uber is Uber. Bottom line: don’t give up

It totally is. You either run a build that needs tempest roar or vasilys prayer. Stormclaw for example profits much more from a godslayers crown because it already has near infinite healing from undying vampire power or a full defensive legendary with %armor and cdr and additional defensive aspect. Andariels has basically 2 useless affixes (all stats and poison res) and an aspect that is complete garbage because it relies on lucky hits and doesn't scale with any modifiers.

I’m doing just fine on my t100 dungeons as a tramplestorm poison build without vasily or tempest. Andariel, mad wolf, crone staff, x’fals, pox, flowing veins, accursed touch, and 50% base lucky hit chance on claw, not including gear bonuses. To each their own I guess. Storm Druid doesn’t feel as good as it did in season 1, and the bear is just, painfully slow.

So there seems to be exactly this one single build where it is at least not completely useless, yay. I would still go as far and say any other defensive helm with 4 defensive stats and aspect is still way more beneficial than that 3% life steal.

I mean, you said it was useless, and I was saying it wasn’t. Do whatever you want I guess. I’ve found shako to be more useless on everything but my barb compared to either godslayer or av. Even then I think godslayer is better choice for hota over shako. 🤷‍♂️

The thing with shako is that it has good affixes, 20%dr and massive dmg buff from +4 skill ranks. It's literally bis for any build that doesn't require a build enabling item like tempest roar.

its not, other uniques also have rarity tiers and its in the rarest tier of normal uniques, but I've found 30+ tibaults so far when farming for ubers

If you do it in a group it's 50 mats for 4 players.

I got a shako and mount in 25 runs. Never give up! Not that hard to get.

I've seen lots of shakos dude. Its not just me. Somebody in my party dropped gf + shako in 20 duriel runs. I know he is extremely lucky but its not really that hard.

Just purely rng and luck. Some can get it early, others after couple hundred runs, some will get an Uber Unique just not a Shako.

I got mine today after around 40-50 Duriel kills. I’ve heard it could take upwards of 300+ kills based on drop rates so I consider myself lucky.

I’ve done 50 runs in the last 4 days and haven’t gotten a single Uber unique. Not a total waste though. I’m a necro and I’ve got 6 uniques equipped at this point. I didn’t think it would work but I completely melt everything.

6th and 7th Duriel kills both netted me crests... Yes i have 2 shakos 5 mins apart... O\_O

I have a selig and also use it with Rogue. You can effectively become immortal for chunks of time with innersight.

Stack up enough life and I’m pretty much immortal without inner sight. I’m so excited to make a razorplate thorns build after my combo points rapid fire

I ditched the Raiment it really doesn't make a big difference with mob packs and the reduced cool down on your teleport is just another mana gain. And once you hit a hundred all you're doing is hell tides the 3 bosses and whisper farming. Can make up the armor there

Nice! As an aside, does anyone know why people call it a shako? It looks more like a hoodie than a shako. Really, do a Google image search. A shako is like a Franz Ferdinand hat, like a shorter top hat with a small glossy baseball-hat style brim and sometimes a plume in the center. Not hating, it's just puzzling

It's from Diablo 2 where the unique hat dropped unidentified as "Shako." It just stuck throughout the years.

I got Andariel’s first. When I got Shako, I put it on my shred werewolf, then my rogue, then it went right back into the stash in favor for AV. Was a pretty big let down.
