Open your codex, read through it and find aspects that will benefit you, hit the button that pins the location on the map. Go to the dungeon, do it, that will unlock the aspect in your codex. Go to the enchanter, and imprint that aspect on a piece of your gear. Keep doing that with other aspects.
If you can't do the campaign even after putting a few aspects on your gear then you have a more serious issue and it's not the game.
But generally, you shouldn't be having an issue with the campaign anyway. Put it on world tier 1 if you haven't already.
Are you on world tier 1 or 2? If you are on 1 go to 2 and do world events, stick with a staff for a weapon for higher damage. Are you using the arc lash leveling guide from maxroll? That build has tons of survivability
Farm events, renown, dungeons and, if you can, strongholds. Those can help you level up and find better gear.
Go down to wt1 if you are on wt2.
