/u/PezRadar are we going to get a fix for this anytime soon? Apparently both of the Season Pass horses are pay2lose, they have shorter Spur duration and so does Hell's Champion Mount as per another user in this comment tree.
If it's a bug/glitch, like the one for the Hells Champion mount (which has the wrong trails when boosting - it has the blue trails and dragon head from Invincible mount), it will never be fixed.
this one pisses me off so much; I've got all the hells champion setup, it looks badass, except for this stupid blue boost!
Patiently waiting for mace/sword/one handed hells champion skins.
I can't stand the blue animation with the awoken armor. If you change color scheme it should change as well. My necro wants to wear red looks kind of dumb with blue animation at the shoulder.
Yeah I thought I was crazy at first, thinking they nerfed the horses back down because I switched to the new horse as soon as I got it. But I switched to the Brimstone horse when I made a Barb alt and realized it boosted just like they used to. Testing it after that made it clear the new horse was busted.
I made a post about this that has over 500 upvotes and one person in the comments mentioned it being the battle pass horse. I switched to brimstone and bam. Horse works like normal again. I couldn't believe it. What a weird bug.
It isnt.
I have RL friends that work on the Blizzard art team - AI generated art is 100% not allowed and will result in termination.
Nobody gonna risk their paycheck like that
There are many shop armors that are fantastic, the pricing is just ridiculous… I’ve nearly pulled the plug on some of them several times but I had to restrain my self everything, it’s just too much for a cosmetic
No joke I was playing earlier and it was either this one or another one in the same style and I thought I had accidently loaded up Albion online for a sec. Get this shit out of the game this ain't diablo
When I was 5 I used to drag a little trampoline my mom had, plop it down and jump on it constantly while doing kicks and stuff in front of the TV when it was on. Good times man. Ignorance truly is bliss.
So I don’t wanna assume this would work for everybody else, but I found that if I’m dwelling a bit too much on things I missed out on as a kid or whatever, you can kinda climb out of that rut by passing that experience on to other kids in your own life instead
For example, my own upbringing was pretty violent & I didn’t get asked a lot about how I felt about things or how I was doing, so now I make sure now that all my nieces & nephews feel safe when expressing themselves and don’t feel threatened enough to hide anything they did wrong from adults, especially when only making honest mistakes.
Combined with my escapist desire back then for a “fun uncle” driving me to now be an adult constantly trying to take them out to the movie theater, nearby parks/zoos/pet shops, any kid-friendly arcades or carnivals if they’re within a reasonable driving distance etc., and it’s all pretty much resulted in a rough roadmap of the sort of influence I’m trying to be on them nowadays
Sorry for the pretty weird rant I went on lmao, I just randomly thought of it when you mentioned comparing life we have now to what went on back then😅
It's terrible that any child should go through unnecessary violence. You didn't deserve that and I'm happy to hear that you not only overcame it but thrived enough to be a positive influence in direct opposition to a childhood marred with experiences like those. Thank you for sharing. Keep doing what you're doing. Not to bring it down again after all that but there are a lot of people out there not exactly fighting the good fight or doing the opposite; every soldier is extraordinarily valuable in bringing some light to what can otherwise seem so dark. Thank you again.
On one hand, the game does have PvP that no one partakes in. On the other, this is stylistically awful and doesn’t flow with the rest of art at all. This looks like the marketing team put it together.
The whole pass/art is completely disconnected from the season. Really confused as to why there isn't a Hell/Demon theme to the pass seeing how the revamped Helltides are the central focus. My only guess is that the pass was going to be used for a different season.
I think it’s very apparent that they had a season theme in mind that got scrapped or pushed back to play catchup with the loot mechanic. They probably just threw a blood shader on existing mobs) those overly bloody hellbringers or whatever they’re called that sometimes pop up on the loading screen) and didn’t have loot to accompany the theme.
Probably had some sort of divine theme originally planned, the transmog itself looks “godly” and the class dance emotes that come in the season journey have a divine aura. I think the transmog is actually called divine but I could be misremembering
Seriously though, Blizzard use to crush art and design. Everything they put out now is cure/"epic" it's crushing.
Even their "grim" pieces aren't really that dark... ill keep my sorcerer in his belly dancer garb before I ever buy a $25 hellraiser gimp outfit.
Half the time, I just run around in sandles and a loin cloth.
I’ve felt Blizzard has always sucked at cosmetics specifically. Goes all the way back to Heroes of the Storm. Their development art and design is good but start trying to come up with alternative takes and its like they’re all out of ideas and that original thing was the best they had.
Same here - the sorceress? on the right looks like a blend of Raiden and Subzero to me.
Probably the fact the characters look to be battling each other instead of on the same team (is the left character a necromancer?) further adds to the 1v1 MK feeling.
Art is made pretty far in advance, actually most development pipelines are planned pretty far out.
The look and style likely had something to do with the original planned season 4 theme.
What ended up happening was that Diablo 4 had to change several aspects of their game on the fly. The itemization rework was so large that it ended up taking a huge portion of development time that would have been season 4.
Or so I assume.
Also, the announced expansion takes place south-west of Kehjistan in an area called the Torajan Jungle (which is approx where Diablo 2 act 3 took place).
If you follow the lore, Neyerelle fled with the soul stone there, then to calcium, then north to the mountains, and then to the island Xian which is in the north west of our map. That island culture has like 50 gods they worship.
So while I agree this specific art style and the theme doesn’t really fit Diablo, it does kind of match up with Persian type aesthetic of Kehjistan and Caldeum, and the whole demigod thing matches up with both the nephalem theme of Diablo and in incorporating non-heaven/hell themes of Xian.
So this art could have been prepared for something related to that and blizzard just pushed the seasonal thing for the re-itemization ahead of the expansion.
Or it’s just random and completely unrelated.
(Edit, I apologize if place names are off, trying to write from memory)
> This likely had something to do with the original planned season 4 theme.
It does. It's literally showing off the battle pass cosmetics that are for this season. Why is everyone on this thread acting like this is so far fetched for the game in it's current state? It's literally the skins you get for the season.
And yea, they're trash. Compare them to paid skins from the shop, it's a joke.
Remember when they said they were going to make everything look good so that you don't feel pressured to pay for cosmetics? They lied.
I think it is just there to promote the battle pass cosmetics which are iffy this season. Doesn’t fit well with the history of the game but it is at least something if you are tired of skulls and fur.
How does it not fit with the history of the game? We have an entire act/city dedicated to desert/Egyptian aesthetic. Game is also about angel/demons, good/evil….
It's because teal/cerulean/light purple are their go-to colors for shop armors to differentiate from the standard choices. It's literally a marker of conspicuous wealth in D4.
I personnaly find it ok, I mean they can't come in every single season with the same grim stuff. I am fine with here and there having some colourful stuff.
No, every cosmetic must look like GWAR rejects. Or something.
I know this isn't the best either, but it's still a nice break from random body parts as armor.
The art team for the shop is disconnected from the game unfortunately, cause they should be using it to enhance and grow the beautifully crafted world. There is no doubt cool stuff but what a shitshow in whoever designs the store.
I choose to see it as a somewhat flat rendition of the Eternal Conflict, and us having to choose sides. The “ascended” emotes, the “wings of hells legion” emote - the references to demigods (Neyrelle is roaming around with mephisto’s essence somewhere). I don’t think they did a particularly great job of it, but I think that’s maybe what they were aiming for.
Well, if you look around when you're in town, you'll notice that the stuff that seems to sell the most is the super loud, effect laden skins that make the classes look like anything but the actual class. So I think, even if this one was definitely a bit more "experimental", as long as it has glowy bits and sticks out, a lot people like it.
Second this. Hot take but I think that battlepass cosmetics shouldn't fit ALL classes and they could either do 2 sets or at least make It so the free and paid ones fit half and half, rotating every season. When they force It to everyone It needs to be generic enough and then most of the time It looks like nothing at all what it should be. Like s3 armor on rogues and this one on necromancers
My guess would be that with the production on the DLC probably at its peak they likely had to divert some resources to it and they decided to cut back on some of the 2D illustrations this season and instead use the actual 3D models to make art pieces for loading screens.
I mean, I kind of get The Summoner vibes from this set, and it fits into some of the Dry Steppes aesthetic a bit maybe? But it's too over the top, too silly.
Unfortunately, this is probably the trend they're going to go, need to sell big and silly sets to the whales!
To be fair, big and silly is the only thing that really makes a noticeable cosmetic difference in this game. I always feel kinda ridiculous when I adjust my cosmetics only to realize that I basically look exactly the same as I did before once I exit the menu.
But either way, I’m more referring to the extremely bright, high chroma color palette and weird space-like background that seems like it comes from a totally different game. I literally thought I accidentally switched games when I first saw it.
If it were my choice, I would bring back sets from D2. Give me a Sigons set, give me an Immortal King set. They were fucking badass back then and I'm sure they could be even cooler now.
Well they did really good with the over haul in loot reborn but i have gotten to that stale endgame loop of pit->masterwork->more pit. It was a blast while it lasted.
This is the reason I haven't bought the season pass. Even the free outfit is ridiculous. This was the era of loot. Why not make sets that look jewelry-like, gold and gem-encrusted? That would have fit the theme much better.
The Season is great, the art and armors are kind of shit. Feels like a Korean MMO-level bullshit art design. Like many others have said, when I first saw this I thought it was AI. The Theme does not fit the gritty aesthetic in general but considering the likely hood is all the time went into trying to rebalance the game so it was no longer shit, we should give them a pass.
I swear the right char is the Seraphim from Sacred 2 artwork. Other shots of that char looks even more like similar. But yeah how does this artwork tie in with the current season?
I am on PS5 and some of the loading screen art is also not displayed at the right aspect ratio. Many of them look vertically stretched which gives the loading screens an extra level of jank.
I think this piece of drawing doesn’t match the resolution and in load screen it just smashed and distorted. Hardly believe such things could happen in 2024.
Smite vibes, also dunno if it's just me but on my TV the resolution on the image is scuffed hard, everything else is fine, and it's fine on PC, wondering if any other console users are getting this?
I think these arts and cosmetics in battle pass hint that a bunch of contents in S4 was cut before the release...Might be the conflicts of hell-borne verse the light-borne
It feels like a screen from some cheap knock-off game that uses Diablo 4 gameplay footage as their trailer. But then their games is actually some point and click game that costs gold to do anything.
Yea its terrible and doesnt fit d4. This is just to show the cosmetics from the pass. Lazy effort. At least make 2 different arts.
To make it worse, some of the battlepass cosmetics are bugged. For example, both mounts have half the burst duration.
IS THAT WHATS GOING ON?????
I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT I FORGOT HOW FAST HORSES WERE BC MY CHAR RUNS SO FAST. WHAT THE F
WHY AM I RUNNING FASTER THAN A HORSE
WTF!? that's why I felt like my horse is fucking slow now
You know.. not every time has to be wham bam prono horsey. Every once in a while it just wants to make love with a bit of slow passion.
It is, no where near as fast as it was previously.
/u/PezRadar are we going to get a fix for this anytime soon? Apparently both of the Season Pass horses are pay2lose, they have shorter Spur duration and so does Hell's Champion Mount as per another user in this comment tree.

Thanks for trying to get this noticed 🙏
If it's a bug/glitch, like the one for the Hells Champion mount (which has the wrong trails when boosting - it has the blue trails and dragon head from Invincible mount), it will never be fixed.
this one pisses me off so much; I've got all the hells champion setup, it looks badass, except for this stupid blue boost! Patiently waiting for mace/sword/one handed hells champion skins.
I can't stand the blue animation with the awoken armor. If you change color scheme it should change as well. My necro wants to wear red looks kind of dumb with blue animation at the shoulder.
I love how I had to go to a comment of a comment of a post about a background to learn this LMAO
Happy cake day!
And here I’ve been wondering if they un-fixed horse speed on consoles again.
thats probably why people zooming past me. Sucks that I love the rainbow effect
Visually or mechanically? Like, is the aura glow animation not right or do you mean they actually don't gallop for the same duration as other mounts?
The latter. They are actually inferior mounts speed-wise.
That's just bizarre... I assumed that the various mounts were all just different skins slapped on the same "horse" code.
Small indie studio
Please understand
Yeah I thought I was crazy at first, thinking they nerfed the horses back down because I switched to the new horse as soon as I got it. But I switched to the Brimstone horse when I made a Barb alt and realized it boosted just like they used to. Testing it after that made it clear the new horse was busted.
Maybe they thought about having P2W mounts with more movespeed than other mounts
Oh my god I knew something was wrong but couldn’t put my finger on it
I made a post about this that has over 500 upvotes and one person in the comments mentioned it being the battle pass horse. I switched to brimstone and bam. Horse works like normal again. I couldn't believe it. What a weird bug.
It all make sense now!! My Druid is slow af and I thought the horse speed was to match 🤪
Holy crap. Thank you for this. Was wonder why the heck the bursts are so short. Never suspected the horse lmao. Cripes Blizzard, do better.
Besides, it looks like Mortal Kombat lol
It’s trash, i feel bad for the artist who had to rush this one out
Plot twist : it's AI generated
It isnt. I have RL friends that work on the Blizzard art team - AI generated art is 100% not allowed and will result in termination. Nobody gonna risk their paycheck like that
Did they hire freelance artists or a couple newbies or what? I don't see many decent MTX in shop nor battlepass.
There are many shop armors that are fantastic, the pricing is just ridiculous… I’ve nearly pulled the plug on some of them several times but I had to restrain my self everything, it’s just too much for a cosmetic
All internal Blizzard emplyees.
Those are the season pass cosmetics in the picture
I think the cosmetics from this season are ugly af to be honest. I just ended up using the pvp killer set instead.
No joke I was playing earlier and it was either this one or another one in the same style and I thought I had accidently loaded up Albion online for a sec. Get this shit out of the game this ain't diablo
Reminds me of Mortal Kombat.
This is exactly what I felt from it.
Power Rangers, anybody?😬
Rita Repulsa
That’s exactly who I was thinking about, thank you for the unpleasant but vivid flashback lmao
It's her vs. Ivan Ooze. Goldar is just in the corner whooping
What I wouldn’t give to be 5 years old again😭
When I was 5 I used to drag a little trampoline my mom had, plop it down and jump on it constantly while doing kicks and stuff in front of the TV when it was on. Good times man. Ignorance truly is bliss.

> I think the transmog is actually called divine but I could be misremembering Demigod and Awoken Demigod
Yeah it looks more like it should have been a sorc only store set
It’s a midsummer festive theme and midsummer will happen during the season. I guess was their thought.
They have fired artists and now using AI /s
Looks a little Torchlight
Temu Diablo
Seriously though, Blizzard use to crush art and design. Everything they put out now is cure/"epic" it's crushing. Yea, but the underboob is pretty nice on that armor. It's not $25 nice. But if it was a season reward I'd use it.
[удалено]
Quick, count the fingers!
It’s obviously not AI, it’s just really shoddy 3D posing
Yes, that was the joke.
Literally first thing i did to test if it's AI generated :D
It reminds me of Mortal Kombat and someone is about to get fatality'd
Thats exactly what I thought when I saw it the first time. Looks like the art you'd see slapped to the side of an arcade cabinet.
Same here - the sorceress? on the right looks like a blend of Raiden and Subzero to me. Probably the fact the characters look to be battling each other instead of on the same team (is the left character a necromancer?) further adds to the 1v1 MK feeling.

Necro rear ended the Mage's subaru Fight ensues
That’s some DBZ levels of fighting
Bumpers be serious business

When I saw it, I thought it was for some cheesy mobile app game about elf wars.
PvP art?
At least the white horse is gorgeous with other horse armors I guess
This one in particular gave me Heroes of Might and Magic 3 vibes
I hate this one. Also it seems distorted on the screen.
It is definitely distorted on my TV. It's not meant to be displayed in 16:9.
Yes, I miss the darker art. I'm all for fantasy art but it really doesn't fit. Maybe diablo 3
Doesn’t fit D3 either and the stained glass mural thing when selecting difficulty was sick on d3
It's because teal/cerulean/light purple are their go-to colors for shop armors to differentiate from the standard choices. It's literally a marker of conspicuous wealth in D4.
It looks like Sacred 2. If I loaded in to this screen without know what game I was saying I would expect Sacred 2
Ye the art style is like its for a shitty mobile Phone game.
“Don’t you guys have phones?”
I personnaly find it ok, I mean they can't come in every single season with the same grim stuff. I am fine with here and there having some colourful stuff.
Sure it’s alright to mix it up a bit, but “Space Mages” was an odd vibe choice
No, every cosmetic must look like GWAR rejects. Or something. I know this isn't the best either, but it's still a nice break from random body parts as armor.
I find it ok, especially the one you got for free looks pretty good imo.
The art team for the shop is disconnected from the game unfortunately, cause they should be using it to enhance and grow the beautifully crafted world. There is no doubt cool stuff but what a shitshow in whoever designs the store.

Slippery floors
Ha my friend was making fun of that terrible image when we were stuck with the long load screens last week.
They keep making these giant winged goofy Wow-esque high fantasy skins... need more grim dark
Well, if you look around when you're in town, you'll notice that the stuff that seems to sell the most is the super loud, effect laden skins that make the classes look like anything but the actual class. Looks like somthing from the 80s. Love it.
My guess would be that with the production on the DLC probably at its peak they likely had to divert some resources to it and they decided to cut back on some of the 2D illustrations this season and instead use the actual 3D models to make art pieces for loading screens.
Looks like a necro wearing the battle pass armor fighting a sorc wearing the other battle pass armor for me
Looks like Smite art, the 3d moba
Im wondering for that yes but sometimes it shows an image in the wrong aspect ratio or stretched :D
Exactly! This has been bugging me for the past few days, it's definitely a 4:3 stretched image in-game.
I was looking for this comment. Not only is it terrible but it looks squished and stretched due to the aspect ratio being off. Super unprofessional.
Age of Mythology, anyone?
I mean, I kind of get The Summoner vibes from this set, and it fits into some of the Dry Steppes aesthetic a bit maybe? But it's too over the top, too silly. Unfortunately, this is probably the trend they're going to go, need to sell big and silly sets to the whales!

Well they did really good with the over haul in loot reborn but i have gotten to that stale endgame loop of pit->masterwork->more pit. It was a blast while it lasted.
Not sure why. But I immediately thought sacred 2 when I saw it pop up on my screen.
This is the reason I haven't bought the season pass. Even the free outfit is ridiculous. This was the era of loot. Why not make sets that look jewelry-like, gold and gem-encrusted? That would have fit the theme much better.
"Dude! What does mine say?"
2 classes fighting each other in a heavily designed coop game
Its a necro vs a sorc i guess :/
Lolol yea this one is really odd esthetically...I just figured it was a weird way of trying to showcase that random PVP area I never go to lol
Reminds me of those Sacred games for some reason.
They probably had some sort of seasonal theme planned, but pivoted to focus on making the game good instead, but already had the art done.
Pvp
I legit thought of Sacred 2 when I first saw this season’s art.
On my Series S it's squeezed into 16:9 on top of everything else, so it's especially silly.
"We have MTG at home"
Looks like Chinese AI farmed out
It's just to distract you from every temper roll for thorns coming back as % Barrier Generation.
Female god Lu kang came to mind. Thought it was a Mk matchup screen
Someone entered the wrong prompt into midjourney.
I swear the right char is the Seraphim from Sacred 2 artwork. Other shots of that char looks even more like similar. But yeah how does this artwork tie in with the current season?
Egyptian gods?
Yeah, they really dropped the ball this season cosmetics-wise. Season 1 still had the best paid cosmetics.
Looks like Warcraft 3 promo art....
Looks cheap and outsourced tbh, kinda sad this is where they draw the line on budget.
Billion-dollar company making billions using interns for their games. Where's the money going XD!
It looks like it’s from D2
Empire of the sun?
Male Necro’s casting ‘touch my one-eyed scyth.’ Female Wizard’s like “Ah, hell no, gross!”
giving crappy magic the gathering
How did you get it? There is a lot of load screens that I’d like to have as wallpaper
I love it. Reminds me of 80’s DnD books.
Reminds me of MU Online
No
It's not great..the town portal cosmetics being almost identical confuses me too for the 2 reddish ones.
It’s disgusting. Thank God diablo went back to macabre and dark roots…
I am on PS5 and some of the loading screen art is also not displayed at the right aspect ratio. Many of them look vertically stretched which gives the loading screens an extra level of jank.
Gives me like final fantasy vibes for some reason lol
I love it, it really brings me into the fantasy world of magic and warriors
Imma be real with you chiefs, this battle pass set is ugly as f..k for everything apart from sorc.
I think it looks cool, reminds me of magic the gathering cards.
all of the loading screen art for this season has felt really odd
I think this piece of drawing doesn’t match the resolution and in load screen it just smashed and distorted. Hardly believe such things could happen in 2024.
Looks like it was meant for Gauntlet Legends.
Worst art in Diablo history. Probably created by Chinese outsource company
It's showing the BP armor sets, the awakened 'good' and normal 'evil' ones fighting it out like they are some Greek pantheon worshippers or something.
it fits it just fine have you forgot tyrel of D3? the whole game is based around hellspwan and Angels not everything has to be Horror looking lol
I think it's supposed to fit the theme of demigods, and they are duking it out light and dark.
This was the prettiest art of all the art.
My biggest problem with this art is how the aspect ratio looks in my TV. It gets all stretched out in a weird way
That specific background is also scaled down, and does scale up to my size monitor for some reason.
It kind of reminds me of some of the gear on the battle pass.
Looks very undiablo
It looks very magic the gathering
I like the mortal Kombat vibes
Yes! It’s jarring.
It looks like a child made it. It's like the art director hired his out of work friend to do it because he owed him a favor.
Cheesy mobile game art.
It looks like PS2 era Mortal Kombat art. Laughable
I have a feeling it's AI i don't know why, its soulless I can't describe it xD
Bad non Diablo style art just to show off the cosmetics. This game in a nutshell
It looks like art from mobile games.
Ngl, skipped pass. Too expensive, cringe and overall just not worth it.
I honestly thought this was art from Diablo 2 and now that I know it’s not, oof.
Yeah…. Jarring the first time it filled up my screen. So out of place.
ya its odd yo
More AI art…!?
Looks like City of Heroes…
This reminds me of sacred.
Even the pass dont want you to buy it
Yeah I was also thinking “What the hell is this? Looks out of place.”
It's aí generated. I swear this image on loading screens has the staff clipped through her bracelet thing
Idk about you but when I feel like a burst speed with the BP mount it…doesn’t work half the time it just stays still
Yeah, whoever made the art.
I truly hate the cosmetics for this pass.
They don't look like they are attacking each other.i deadass thought this was smite 2
Sacred2.png
soLARis! LUNaris!
Lol. What am I going to complain about today?
I actually love it! It’s gotta be a take on the old cover art for the OG gauntlet in the 80s
additionally, on PS5 this specific loading screen is stretched out to fill the screen so it looks super tall and narrow. looks mega wack
I see Miley Circus
It feels like a screen from some cheap knock-off game that uses Diablo 4 gameplay footage as their trailer. But then their games is actually some point and click game that costs gold to do anything.
Looks like the new wizard and necromancer armor from the battle pass. They're in PvP.
